Thank you Mr President. Actually I knew that. In fact I am just watching its most high profile representative making a speech.
As Rector of the University of Dundee, I am entitled to put forward nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize. With Obama as an example of the kind of person the committee want, I am wondering who I might propose. Charles Taylor? Maybe Osama Bin Laden? Or perhaps George W Bush and Tony Blair jointly?
Wow, those pompous Scandinavians are fucking stupid.
Obama didn’t deserve the prize – I’m sure even he would agree if asked privately. However despite his flaws the guy is fighting the good fight, slowly for sure and maybe he hasn’t picked all the battles we would like him to yet but so far the signs are good that the US has elected their best President since Carter. He’s not a miracle worker.

One could call Obama an American nationalist. A believer in American exceptionalism, and that the United States has special rights and responsibilites, which it doesn’t accept are applicable to other nations. For example, the right to instigate economic blocades, criticise their internal affairs, and even invade and occupy them, when it feels its interests call for such actions.
No one else is allowed to do this, except Israel. Obama thinks that the United States has a special form of national interest, which it denies to others. Obama thinks that the narrow, national interest, of the United States, are somehow universal interests that others must recognize as legitimate, keep out of the way, or else, suffer the consequences.
What other nation would be allowed to get away with such arrogance about it’s role in the world? But because it’s the United States, the rules are different.
Hmmm… was the the prize awarded for not smacking GBrown in the saggy chops for the ‘slave ship pen holder’? No wonder he shows open contempt for the man.
The mind boggles.
This makes a mockery of the Nobel peace prize. One could argue for war, and this may be understandable. But, to give a peace prize to such a person is completely wrong. It is like giving a virgin award to a woman with several children!

By the actions of 9/11 the world has been subjected to a new war, called the ‘War on Terror’ which has resulted in new laws that have repressed the ideals of liberty, self-determination and equality. The American people have been subjected to the conditions of discrimInation, surveillance, indefinite detention, fear-mongering and the distortion of facts to fit the case.
In today’s wars, many more civilians are killed than soldiers; the seeds of future conflict are sown, economies are wrecked, civil societies torn asunder, refugees amassed and children scarred.
By adopting the idea of preemptive war we have created an uncertain future for our children and grandchildren, and a question-mark hovers over their freedom and prosperity. The great age of global communication and a free connected world is now under the threat by corporates and complexes that intend to create ‘walled gardens’ on the Internet that will require enrolment and paid services for information and news. Our Internet will be severely restricted and all attempts to convey information to others will be monitored and censored. Murdoch’s announcement of the ‘News Corporation’ is the first shot fired and already Google has learned that no access will be available to index this fortress or feed up content.
The destruction of the World Trade Center was the catalyst and because that event is shrouded in mystery and suspicion we have lost faith in our leaders.
I leave you will President Obama’s words:
For if we lose that faith ?” if we dismiss it as silly or naive, if we divorce it from the decisions that we make on issues of war and peace ?” then we lose what is best about humanity. We lose our sense of possibility. We lose our moral compass.
Let’s nominate Karimov for the Nobel Prize. Well, he is keeping peace in Central Asia by killing thousands of innocent people just because they are dissidents. I see no differences between ObamaBushBlair and KarimovPutin groups.

I am new to this site, so I’m not sure why Craig Murray regards Obama as evil’s “most high profile representative”. His stance on healthcare? Copenhagen? Nuclear non-proliferation? Perhaps somebody can enlighten me.
