For all those nutters who cry “Conspiracy theory” whenever it is stated that the CIA have ever done anything wrong, here is a story from that impeccably conservative source, the Daily Telegraph:
A 50-year mystery over the ‘cursed bread’ of Pont-Saint-Esprit, which left residents suffering hallucinations, has been solved after a writer discovered the US had spiked the bread with LSD as part of an experiment.
Thanks, BumbleB! Cosmic, your comment, especially after my (unconnected) metaphor of the bees and the honey-pots!
And currently there is a bloke from Oldham Professor Brian Cox on Music Radio
– Absolute Radio 105.8 FM
I mentioned him yesterday on here but had no idea he would be on the radio

The divergences between my views and the actions of the Bush (and also Obama) are I believe America should go through a USSR style reformation. States that desire independents should be given it.
The states in the south with a Hispanic majority, should be allowed to form their own country, or join Mexico, with Spanish as their official language. These people do not share an Anglo heritage so should not be forced to speak English, including the bastardized version of English with incorrect spelling known as American English.
Hawaii should be allowed independents, and even allowed to join Japan. This is because the biggest ethnic group there are the Japanese. These people should be allowed to speak their native language as the official language of their nation.
I am not going to go in to the rights and wrongs of the pearl harbor attack, but relinquishing Hawaii to Japan will go in some way to reparate Japan for dropping nuclear warheads on Nagasaki and Hiroshima.
Alaska should be given one of three options, independence, unification with Canada or reunification with Russia. Each and everyone of these options will relieve America of Sarah Pailin and her slutty daughters.
If any other state or ethnic group desires independents, they should be given it because America is big enough for us all.
This may not seem like foreign policy to you divergence to you, but it is. Most of the right wing nut cases live in these areas. If these areas are removed from America, America will remove its Armies from foreign countries.
So their will be no longer be any Foreign policy issues to resolve!
More than two sentences in one post Larry, thats phenomenal.
So what would ahppen to NAFTA Larry? and why do you think that this would actually be possible, cause those money men would not like their club taken apart.
Another small but vital point.
Promise you will not attack canada when your mid west aquifers run dry, when the opulent lifestyle hits the buffers and you are out of water?
What about dreolins questions Larry?
Fuck Me
Is someone impersonating Larry from St. Louis?
He actually wrote something coherent, some of which has given me something to think about, and maybe even agree with.
But Brian Cox was hilarious
Who says physicists can’t be funny – and on a music radio station too?
Tony
“More than two sentences in one post Larry, thats phenomenal.”
Nah. Just shift changeover. The style changes a bit from one to the next, although I admit it’s not always so obvious.
I promise the U.S. won’t attack Canada for their water. We’ve got plenty of water. We can also just buy the water, just like we could have also simply bought the oil in Iraq.
As to the person who impersonated me – I can guarantee you that very few Americans want their “independents.” Wrong century.
Pardon me for being pedantic Larry but do you mean “independence”?
Incidentally Larry, while you’re in the mood for fessin’, there’s a rather important outstanding question for you over on the thread that dares not speak its name.
MJ – Jesus Fucking Christ you are dense.
Larry,
You say “I promise the U.S. won’t attack Canada for their water.”
Personally, I only represent my own Personal views not the U.K.
But I promise, that the UK’s Royal Navy (even if it has broken all the launch codes) will not Nuke The US because YOU live there.
However, I can’t speak for anyone else.
Tony
Richard,
Juan Cole was attacked for posting that map. He followed it up with a later post explaining/amplifying :

“Maybe even a reality-check ?”
I follow several Arab-American writers on Twitter.
One of them posted this today:
“Poll shows US public attitudes to Israel are cooling very rapidly”
http://bit.ly/djlqNM
“In the poll taken March 15-16, 58 percent of Americans said they consider Israel an ally of the United States, while 32 percent consider it somewhere between an ally and enemy.
“In a poll taken by Rasmussen in August, 70 percent said they considered Israel an ally, while just 16 percent considered it somewhere between an ally and enemy.”

Happy St Patrick’s Day to you all, whatever your persuasion 🙂
I see Larry arrived. He can’t say whether he condones torture or not, or under what circumstances?
Cosmic solution! I agree that the one place in greatest need of a revolution – or reformation – is indeed the USA.
Larry, your views seem to coincide spookily with those of Igor Panarin, who forecast the “splintering” of the US some time ago. The Wall Street Journal even reported it, here: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123051100709638419.html
The key quote is as follows: “California will form the nucleus of what he calls “The Californian Republic,” and will be part of China or under Chinese influence. Texas will be the heart of “The Texas Republic,” a cluster of states that will go to Mexico or fall under Mexican influence. Washington, D.C., and New York will be part of an “Atlantic America” that may join the European Union. Canada will grab a group of Northern states Prof. Panarin calls “The Central North American Republic.” Hawaii, he suggests, will be a protectorate of Japan or China, and Alaska will be subsumed into Russia.”
Are you a fan of Mr Panarin’s work, Larry? Do you genuinely believe that a series of secessions from the US is going to be a good thing for your country? (Incidentally, only one of the Larries can spell – what’s the collective noun for “Larrys from St Louis”, I wonder?)
dreoilin,
We had planned to go out tonight to celebrate St. Patricks Night, and had a brilliant time last year, even though we had to queue up for half an hour to get in. We also celebrated Arthur Guinness’s 250th Birthday last September…
But this Irish bloke phoned us up, and he said “It’s Off” – We ain’t doing it this year…
Now I didn’t believe it for a second, so I asked him further about it
He said the band have been drinking continuously since midday….
I said Yes – it should be good then…
Tony
Tony, you’re incorrigible! LOL
Of course that wasn’t me who wrote that above about the splintering of the U.S.
But, coincidentally, I recently saw that idiot on Russia Today, and decided that that was one of the stupidest things I’ve seen on Russia Today (in a strong field).
There are so many arguments against such silliness, but one (perhaps not even the best) argument is that Americans don’t really identify with any particular region.
That Russian professor sure seems like a loon.
I see Adam mentioned the Wall St Journal. Am I losing it, or has Sky News suddenly included it in their “look at tomorrow’s papers” at 11.30pm? They did last night.
I see Larry arrived. He can’t say whether he condones torture or not, or under what circumstances?

Are you saying Larry that the rather interesting post under your name at 6:13 PM really wasn’t you? How disappointing. For once I thought you had something to say. Never mind. Anyway, there’s still a rather important question for over on the 9*1 thread if you’re feeling adventurous.
dreoilin – thanks for the IC link, but I have him on my daily bookmarks list – it was noticing that he didn’t explain it in today’s piece that provoked me to mention it. I should have asked on his comments, really, but I don’t think I have the energy – start talking with people, and it seems to get addictive, I just don’t have room for more – but I see it is getting a bit of picking apart now, with references. Which are always good, but take even more time … the world wide web is sticky.
Happy St. Pat to you, too.
The late Jim Keith was on this one back in’97 in Mind Control,World Control.
Keith argued for the likely involvement of the CIA in the Pont-St-Esprit mass acid dosing case as forerunner to later public testing by stealth in the US itself.
Got to this version of the Pont-Saint-Esprit story rather late (I don’t check into Craig’s site since Angry & Larry’s actions)
There’s a great article over at voltaire about this incident, along with a massive 26 page pdf covering of decalssified documents from Cheney, Rumsfeld, Bush Snr, Colby et all…
In short, it WAS a CIA test. It WAS linked to Frank Olsen.
Enjoy.

“I don’t check into Craig’s site since Angry & Larry’s actions”–Edo
I came close to the same. But I decided that to do that would be playing right into their hands.
“what’s the collective noun for “Larrys from St Louis”, I wonder?”–Adam
a diabtribe?
Edo: “In short, it WAS a CIA test.”
OK, where’s the evidence?
Do you really think that file is so massive? Where’s the link to the French town?
Fuck off Larry, you fucking prick.
Aaahhhhhh, poor Edo is getting upset because someone is pointing out how crazy he is.
not upset, just a statement of fact. You are a fucking prick.
Edo – merely for informing you that that’s not such a massive file, and that it doesn’t provide a link to that French town?
I later discovered that in very unusual circumstances, the effects that result from smoking dried Irish Pond Weed is Due To The French
