Just back from Accra and just about to set off for Berlin. I am very rude about the partiality of the Guardian’s focus on occasions, but they deserve congratulations for getting it spot-on with this article explaining Cameron and Hague’s sudden activism on Somalia.

Mary,

I also hope I am wrong – but dreams of Utopia are not enough. Thankfully the WWW is our ‘sword’ against evil; as you know I put a proposal to Putin that would put an outstretched arm up against war. I asked:
.
“Prime Minister Putin to immediately engage in talks with China, drafting an appeal to founding members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation; [上海合作组织; Шанхайская организация сотрудничества] – to amend the framework to include mutual military security that will protect members, including senior observers awaiting consensus and ratification, against any strike carried out without UNSC approval.
.
He failed to reply so I have written again expressing concern.
.
The recent attempt to assassinate Putin rippled through MI6 according to a low level insider.
.
The British press wrote the disingenuous comment, ‘a purported assassination attempt against Vladimir Putin to boost his popularity ahead of Russia’s upcoming presidential election.’
.

.
I have warned President Putin that further attempts to murder him and eliminate a powerful force against US world domination is likely in this dangerous point in time.

“It’s NO SURPRISE that there’s an assassination attempt on Putin, he’s anti-Wall Street and City of London and against their destructive speculative casino of derivatives and other complex financial garbage!
The City of London along with Wall Street’s global financial casino is HOPELESSLY bankrupt and CAN’T be saved! The Euro is in the middle of collapse. Meanwhile the countries of Asia such as Russia and China are doing much better economically and are involved in big development projects such as space, science and infrastructure, stuff that America during the Presidencies of F.D.R. and J.F.K. used to do!
The global bankers don’t like this and want to see Putin dead and a puppet of their bankrupt financial system put into power in Russia. They would love to force regime change in Russia by giving Putin the Gaddafi “treatment”.
.
An astute American and of course a member of ‘Occupy’…
Mark Golding, have you any idea what Putin has done to Chechnya?
“The Quest for Somali Oil”
.
Uh? BP’s oil surely. Don’t give the little people silly ideas that will only get them killed.
.
Think of what oil will bring to Somalia, an airport to get the workers in. A seaport to get the oil out, and a road between the airport and the oil fields. Lucky Somalis.
Old Lag,
.
Yes, very much so. For Putin, Chechnya has become a trap he cannot escape. Yet he recognizes his own failures and rails in frustration at his inability to stop the violence.
.
I cried with the mothers of Beslan children and I note Putin met some mothers willing to talk to him.

.
I also cried after seeing the carnage in Baghdad; Blair, a commander and leader in that massacre relieved his own conscious by stating: “If you have faith about these things then you realise that judgement is made by other people. If you believe in God, it’s made by God as well.”
.
Credulous as it seems, our own Prime Minister invokes God in a continuing crusade to impose our democracy on the rest of this world. Is that the right idea?
Your tears, Mr Golding, are neither here nor there. Putin installed and backed Kadyrov: you can look up his regime’s record of torture, murder and abduction if you wish. Better, you can read Anna Politkovskaya on the subject – you must remember the journalist and critic of Putin who was assassinated, surely? Or any of his other opponents who have been jailed, tortured or murdered. Why would Putin’s ability to meet with Chechen mothers count in the face of a regime which a) openly crushes all opposition b) openly fixes elections c) openly stands against human rights including those of women and homosexuals?
I have no idea what you mean by referring to the current western vogue for invoking ‘god’; at least, I have no idea why you think it is relevant to Putin’s track record.
… have you any idea what Putin has done to Chechnya?
,
Why Chechenya became to be?
Who/which entity poured the money along with the ideology into Chechenya, and why?
,
So easy to regurgitate the standard lines.
,
So far as Putin is concerned he is worrying the Master of the Universe, and the dog and pony show of holding hands and already declaring the elections rigged.
,
The proud traditions of the hanging chads of Florida, the miracle Diebold vote production machines, and the court selected presidents as yet have not made any head ways into Russia and the other “Dictatorships”, soon as these see the world from the Sam-tinted glasses all will be good and fair and Free.
‘fedup’ how nice of you to answer a point made to someone else. and how interesting the way the far-out right (you won’t get any thanks from your masters btw; they will use you as cannon fodder) attempt so sadly to confuse the corruption in one part of the world with the horror in another. Diebold: yes, sure, people have been writing about it for years. What has that got to do with Putin? Nothing, is the answer, in case you’re searching for it.
Presumably, in Russia, some people are justifying the attack on Iraq by pointing to Chechnya.
Sorry, Fedup; perhaps that was unfair, If you’re saying that everything is rigged just about everywhere I am increasingly inclined to agree with you. Though I think we can all try and do something about it eg; agitate and act for the best of the options (bearing in mind that perfection is only achievable in the imagination). If you’re saying that we should embrace Putin because he is not American, on the other hand, I part company.
With apologies to Aangirfan again for cherry-picking ideas from his blog and commenting on them here which has a more user-friendly commenting system, he recently published an interview with Jewish Egyptian Ayman Al-Zawahiri about Zionist-Islamist politics:
http://aangirfan.blogspot.com/2012/02/lunch-with-ft-ayman-al-zawahiri.html
One part of the interview particularly caught by attention:
.
‘I asked him about Israel’s attitude.
“Israel always supports the Islamists against the nationalists,” he replied.’
The interview may be imaginary or real, Allah knows, but the political rhetoric in this reply may shed light on what is happening in the world.
The Zionists identify themselves principally by their nationality, but their ambition for power is global. Identifying yourself as a nationalist cause limits your scope and exposes you to attack from other nationalisms. On the whole most people who take an interest in politics in the world are interested in the subject from their own country’s perspective. What’s beneficial to the place where I live.
So Zionists seek to define themselves as political players in the context of moral or religious values such as Islam.
.
In the light of Zionist global influence it therefore pays for Muslim political thinkers to define themselves as Islamist, radical opponents to national interests, even though Islam defines them principally as moralists and jurists. In other words in real-politick it pays to hate the people whose country you live in, even though your religion tells you not to hate them. Zionist influence will allow your religion to flourish, build mosques, schools, communities if you are racist against the host community, because you are helping the Zionists to be seen as a moral/religious cause, instead of a nationalistic cause.
.
That is why those of us who are constantly scratching our heads why our government does everything they possible can to weaken our countries reputation and influence in the world. That is why the religious leaders of my religion of Islam do everything they possibly can to weaken Islam’s reputation and influence:
There’s Ziownie points in being extreme. The UK politicians are collecting Ziownie points on their nectar cards for bombing the shit out of innocent populations and the mad mullahs are collecting Ziownie points on their nectar cards, instead of accumulating rewards from their Creator for showing a good, compassionate example of Islam.
The US MIC is replaying the Iraq war playbook line by line, using embedded ex-military generals posing as independent policy experts. Glenn Greenwald has the details. Follow the money is always good advice.

May 2010, general election time, usually the time when mullahs visit the UK, giving their approval of x or y candidate and then hope that the family elders and tribal leaders will follow their advise.
Off course politicians help out, feeding a few hundred during election time has never cost Jack Straw his seat or disqualified him from the campaign, nor has physical violence against fellow candidates and/or their staff.

This confetrence I sat at, not understanding much but connec ting with a lot of people, I watched the approx. 600-1000 people raise 650.000 in less than an hour, to buy the school theur were having the conference in. The mullahs was from Pakistan and just as the arch bishop of soandso, looked reasuringly dodgy. As the only non believer in the dining hall, presumably, it felt like I was watching in on a fundraising event that was local, but also funded the various speakers and their causes.
‘the accumulation of rewards, so my candidate’s husband said, was more to the causes of the mullahs than the local cause’
the creator did not come into it.
It is these men who divert british politics with the help of established party politicians, politics and religion make for a powerfull alliance and the same can be said of any religion.
As for Somalia, their headache has only begun and when the bullets fly again its the neighbouring countries that will fear the brunt of refugees and misery, I hope our excellent british wear planners are planning ahead for this war famine to come.
And what do our unions do? They give some more infamous PR to the Olympics, but why? not that I support this concrete display in east London.
Have the unions the need to band waggon such an event to highlight their case against cuts in public services? what is stopping them calling for civil disobedience NOW? everywhere? what utter piffle, calling themselves workers representatives, naive-lings?
Its not the message I’m becrying here, but the apathetic nature and the lethargic old guard within the unions that have become MSM messengers themselves. What an own goal, have they not learned at all from previous London demonstrations? what a prospect of asking demonstrators to mingle with 30.000 police and make their points in front of a perplexed and bewildered foreign crowd.
If he had any brains he would have told people to do their civil disobedience in their regional City’s and towns, not in a festooned London, and do it now, or eastern, may day, no, it had to be the Olympics, what a self grandising prat.

Old Lag,
.
Putin’s meeting with bereaved Beslan mothers whose children drank their own urine to prevent dehydration before the explosions and who lost arms and legs after the Chechen guerrillas hanging bombs went off, is fact. Despite invoking God, war criminal Blair murdered thousands of children in an illegal war; that also is fact.
.
Kadyrov is a thug, put in place to deal with thugs, assassins, guerrillas and murderers. And yes I remember Anna Politkovskaya, Natalya Estemirova and others whose deaths are swathed in mere talk, hearsay and innuendo with some believing Western backed Chechen rebels were involved. Sorry, but I find your reply condescending; patronising statements ending in ‘surely’ serve only to stifle debate.
I do like Banksy. What imagination here.
http://thefoxisblack.com/blogimages//banksy-fox-colonel-sanders.jpg
.
The blog post reads –
I saw this excerpt of Banksy’s thoughts on advertising earlier today, so I thought I’d share.
.
People are taking the piss out of you everyday. They butt into your life, take a cheap shot at you and then disappear. They leer at you from tall buildings and make you feel small. They make flippant comments from buses that imply you’re not sexy enough and that all the fun is happening somewhere else. They are on TV making your girlfriend feel inadequate. They have access to the most sophisticated technology the world has ever seen and they bully you with it. They are The Advertisers and they are laughing at you.
.
You, however, are forbidden to touch them. Trademarks, intellectual property rights and copyright law mean advertisers can say what they like wherever they like with total impunity.
.
Fuck that. Any advert in a public space that gives you no choice whether you see it or not is yours. It’s yours to take, re-arrange and re-use. You can do whatever you like with it. Asking for permission is like asking to keep a rock someone just threw at your head.
.
You owe the companies nothing. Less than nothing, you especially don’t owe them any courtesy. They owe you. They have re-arranged the world to put themselves in front of you. They never asked for your permission, don’t even start asking for theirs.

Good morning Craig someone has just tweeted your post Bent Cops On Parade…I wanted to leave a link but you have closed your comments section.
I hope it is Ok to leave it here and let everyone ponder as to why a British police force LEICESTER, would hold back paedophile allegations from the Portuguese investigation when the very person the allegations were against was present when a three year old disappeared ?
Do the NHS protect doctors if they are paedophlies ?

“Up to 13 activists ….”
Is Judas back int the fold then?
,
Sort of last supperish, but this time it is the messiah of a different sort, instead of getting crucified was “shelled” in the hands of not the Pontius Pilate but the Dictator Assad.
,
Who dreamed up this crock of shit?
Ingo said; “what is stopping them calling for civil disobedience NOW?….”
,
The reasons are many;
1- There is no British National Transitional Council.
2- There is No British Free Army.
3- No UN resolutions in support of the above.
4- civil Disobedience is incitement to insurrection and before the chaps know, they have been shoved into a cell, out of a job, caught for drunk driving, their adulterous affairs made headlines of the tabloids, in the worst case scenario shoved under the tube, or even worse than worse than (Teutonic accent required) zhat Dr. Kelly-ed or stiffed and put into a hold all adorned in bondage gear.
,
So don’t be silly, expecting anyone to call for any kind of gathering/action other than a street party for Jubilee. FFS every other day someone is threatening Craig on his blog for one reason or other ie not regurgitating the party line and the manifesto, and sort of shining some truth on the subject matter, albeit tongue in the cheek sort of way, as in this one

Most general analysts writing here on what is fundamentally a human rights weblog have a vested interest in denouncing war. So I guess most times we are in agreement. 🙂
That’s right, Mark Golding, the West conspired both to assassinate Putin and his most outspoken critic. How he must appreciate your support.
NB I find your casual dimissal of the horrors which have happened and are happening to Chechnya under Putin extraordinary.
