“Unless there was a FURTHER MC, I reckon any MC involvement is next to ZERO,
so that leaves the possibility of a man on foot or dropped off by a car,
which swang into the parking at speed, dropped off the gunman and left.”

I can not recall, is there an official version of how the killer left
The Slaughter of the Horses scene?

  • michael norton

    OF course, in these assassinations,
there can be two on a motorcycle.

So a motorcyclist could drop off the pillion shootist.

  • M.

MN, there remains the mystery 4×4, RHD, whatever model, ONF1 saw a car, he didn’t make it up, too damn complicated to do so.

    MC killer equals zero.

‘The occupants’ of the RHD car ….. ‘occupants’, always phrased this way, so ONF1 describes the driver, was there someone else ?

Being a tad pedantic, the MC line-up you propose, ONF1 didn’t see his face (visor) and neither did WBM, pointless comment and even greater pointless excercise, I’m with GIP on this WBM was most likely passed by Melvin or another Trail/Trial MC.

ZAH may or may not have been involved, I bet he could give a damn good guess, that’s why he doesn’t want to be questioned in France.

Either they don’t have a clue, or you are right, M. A whole lot of circumstantial evidence can be used for a conviction, but it can take years. I’m thinking of a double murder in another country, now five years past. There is DNA from the alleged perp and the victims in the victims’ vehicle. The alleged killer has been in court multiple times, but technicalities get in the way. Like this case, the killings took place in a remote country location. The alleged perp has a violent history, and people in the area may find that foreboding.

The FRENCH home of William Brett Martin is not only close to the home of
the family Communal-Tournier, it is also adjacent to
Camping Le Verger Fleuri – Campground
70 Route du Bout du Lac
    74210 Lathuile
    France

and i believe we found out that the manager / owner of Camping Le Verger Fleuri is the same geezer who is the manager /owner of
    le flashback – Club
    74210 Marlens
    France

  • Q

That Flashback Club has a log lifting truck parked on the road outside. Do you suppose this is where forestry workers go, MN? Also, there’s a car rental place across the street, and a car pick your part place down the road. More unskinned logs, firewood, etc. In other words, an ugly industrial area.

I’m not being contrary or anything, it’s just that I reappraised what we are aware of, assuming that LMC was not involved in the murders. To me there is something ‘not right’ about the MC reports.

By ‘not right’ I mean very, very, wrong. I had previously discounted inconsistencies on the basis that LMC had been involved in some way (though not as the killer) and had actively altered his appearance and that of his motorcycle.

So, I shall ask you, do you infer anything from the discovery of LMC (his subsequent effective elimination from the enquiry) and the apparent re-focus onto the local witnesses?

  • michael norton

It would be interesting to know, if on the day of “The Slaughter of the Horses”

was a motorcycle seen driving about with a pillion passenger,
then later the same motorcycle seen driving about without a pilion passenger?

    Quote The Daily Telegraph

“Mr Maillaud described the suspect ( Eric Devouassoux)as a war weapons enthusiast who bore
A STRONG RESEMBLANCE to the e-fit of a man seen near the crime scene and whose mobile phone records placed him in the vicinity of Chevaline at around the time of the murders.
    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/10653923/Alps-murders-former-policeman-will-not-be-charged.html

It would still seem to me that something smelling of fish has happened with this E-Fit.

  • michael norton

I’d like to continue to harp on about the fact the public has not been allowed to see the likeness of the mysterious unnamed motorcyclist from Lyon.

If the reason ( given by Maillaud) Eric Devouassoux was taken into custody for
    the Slaughter of the Horses
was because he was a shoe-in for the E-FIT

then we must be allowed to see if the unnamed motorcyclist
( who was found and almost straight away exonerated)
is also a likeness for the E-FIT.

If the unnamed motorcyclist from Lyon does not share a resemblance of the E-FIT

then Maillaud has some talking to do.

Police are still trying to identify the body of a woman found on Saturday morning on the railway near the crossing of the Avenue du Grand Port, Aix-les-Bains.
SNCF officers made the gruesome discovery in the early morning. The victim was run over by a train in the night from Friday to Saturday. Is it a suicide? From an accident? From a homicide? For now, investigators do not exclude any track. No identity document was found nearby, not even a handbag. Last night, no worrying disappearance had been reported despite the call for witnesses launched by police.
    Appeal for witnesses
This is a Caucasian woman, aged between 40 and 60 years, measuring between 1.65 m and 1.70 m, of medium build with long black hair and gray-green eyes. At the time of the tragedy, she wore a black jacket and boots, suede type black with wedge heels.
Anyone with insight or knowing the woman is asked to call the police station of Aix-les-Bains at Tel. 04 79 35 00 25.

Accident mortel de chasse : le témoignage de la veuve
This shooting is less than five miles from the scene of the Slaughter of the Horses,
what an incredibly dangerous place this part of FRANCE.

    http://www.ledauphine.com/faits-divers/2015/12/20/accident-mortel-de-chasse-le-temoignage-de-la-veuve

This testimony is poignant. It is that of a wife who held her husband in her arms as he died.
This is a trailer, a friend of the couple, who relayed their Facebook account (1) last Thursday. And since it was taken on social networks, exponentially.
Indeed, besides its nature necessarily moving, it refers to the tragic hunting accident that befell even the small world of trailers and Semnoz, the whole Haute-Savoie and beyond.
This Saturday, December 5, at a battered boar at Quintal, a hunter of 20 years was fired at what he thought was a wild boar. But he touched in the head a hiker who was running on a trail. Gaël Lavy, 43, father of two children and lives Viuz-la-Chiésaz, was an entrepreneur, ski mountaineering enthusiast and mountain races.
That’s the message from his wife, Melanie (2):
“For years I have not written anything on FB (note: Facebook), but now it’s different, we talk about my husband, they say many things and there are a lot of comments … It is I who held him in my arms for 15 min, head exploded before help arrived. I was alone for at least 5 minutes before a hunter does come with me while I was screaming and they stood 50 meters from us! They took time to agree on their version of events. ”
“It was Saturday, December 5, we live at the foot of the Semnoz and practice trail for years. We know the hunting periods, signals and rules … ”
“But this Saturday morning we will cross any traffic on the roads we have borrowed.”
“We have, however, met a hunter 100 meters before firing, to whom we kindly said hello, which did not answer us, who turned his back on us and do not tell us a few meters up to hunters were 6-7 (in beaten ???). We were talking loudly both, I was dressed in pink and blue and the ground was cleared and 10 m from the road up to the Semnoz. 1 min later I heard a terrible shot, I turned around and my husband was on the ground shot in the face and jaw exploded. ”
“That day, we followed the rules, not them. That day, my husband was not an accident, was killed. That day, they are murderers we met, hunting is not a game. My husband measured 1.82 m, weighing 83 kg, it was not a wild boar. He was handsome, he had two little girls, we were happy … ”
    “So what now?”

  • michael norton

    Note:

“They took time to agree on their version of events.”

I wonder is that what happened on 05/09/2012

between the forest people and the authorities?

  • Q

Lawless place that, MN. Basic hunting training rule: you don’t shoot wildly into the bush at anything that moves. You identify the target clearly before pulling the trigger. If you’re not sure, you don’t fire.

Of course that didn’t stop Dick Cheney from mistaking a senior citizen for a quail.

Maybe the French hunters did site the target carefully.

  • michael norton

Well, the Slaughter of the Horses was 39 months ago.
There seem to have been four suspects, Eric Devouassoux, the ex-policeman, who lives locally,
the unnamed motorcyclist who is rather shy and we must not see his face or know his name but he was exonerated 95% with indecent haste
and poor Patrice Menegaldo, who has been found dead.
Also Mr. al-Hilli the brother of one of the victims.

but three years on and he has not said a dicky bird as the three year anniversary came and went,
    is he without a clue?

  • Good In Parts

    Q

Re the Flashback Club and other ‘associated’ businesses. Would someone working there be able to see a cyclist riding past on the cyclepath?

  • Q

The nightclub is across the road from Camping LE Champ Tillet, and down the road from a parapente place. I wonder if the al-Hilli visted more campgrounds than we know about, and what kind of relationship all these Campground owners have with each other.
