Now the widow and family of Hervé Cornara
will never be able to attend court,
to know why this twat did what he did.
I thought there were supposed to be protections in place to stop prisoners from hanging themselves.
Yet another tragic event for South East France.
MN, you’re slipping, you missed this from yesterday…

“Investigators have also begun an international search for the last recorded owners of the 56,000 guns of the type used in the quadruple murder.
Annecy prosecutor Eric Millaud said: ‘It’s a colossal task but necessary.”
“Scotland Yard detective Kevin Hurley also admitted two years ago on French radio that the murders may never be solved.
We know that a 7.65 calibre Lugar was the murder weapon, but apart from that we know nothing
He described case was the ‘most mysterious he had come across in 20 years’.
And he told RTL radio: ‘We know that a 7.65 calibre Lugar was the murder weapon, but apart from that we know nothing.
‘Neither do we know whether there was one killer, or if there were accomplices. And the real problem is that we still haven’t found the motive.'”
His comments to RTL were the same in 2013.

Another theory is that the al-Hillis, from Claygate in Surrey, and who were staying in a nearby campsite, were murdered by a crazed loner who recently been released from a psychiatric hospital.
Theories of bloggers, MN …… and Saddam Hussein money and Mossad and the future father-in-law of the cyclist, and Intelligence Service (pick a country of your choosing) and the others on the list.
‘A crazed loner recently released from a psychiatric hospital’, they checked that one out, but easily dismissed as a goer, the scene was ‘too clean’ …..
You need to understand mental health issues, then you will understand why it wasn’t someone known to the authorities, someone who has issues but is not being treated is another matter altogether.
But if this was random, why not shoot the ONF, LMC, MM or others who were walking in the woods that day, there was never a guarantee a car full would have turned up.
I’m more concerned about the 56k 7.65 Lugers that they know of ! Must be held legally if they intend to trace all last known owners …..
Not such a rare beast is it ?
Under the drivers doormat is interesting could it have anything to do with the fact the car had not stalled or the passports on the floor any ideas ?
Pink, the front bumper, must be significant or otherwise anyone could have brushed past it, I wonder if it was near to where Mollier was found by WBM, that could prove interesting.
This DNA thingy was reported previously, we discussed about the chances of DNA being from someone in a garage or the like, the passports were found in a ‘footwell’, do you recall if this was ever precise and if something to do with them, why not a different DNA on the passports ?
Was something else hidden under the mat, not taken on the day but accessed in the days before ?
Another article here :
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/french-alps-murders-dna-found-on-car-belonging-to-al-hilli-family-broadens-investigation-a6782101.html
Are we back to robbery again, with something hidden under the mats?
DNA on the bumper could belong to Brett Martin, or almost anyone, for that matter. DNA inside the vehicle on a floor mat is another thing. Hopefully the crime scene investigators were careful. If Saad had the vehicle detailed before the trip, or mechanical work done, there goes that, unless he had work done somewhere in the Annecy region.
We were told that Saad liked to fix his own vehicle. There are two places down by le Flashback, just off the cycling track, where he might have found used parts. Perhaps this explains his absences from the campground. Maybe he sought advice or directions from one of the campground staff along the way.
Sylvie Lecoeur and another campground worker were interviewed early on.
Is this part of France known for chop shops?
If we want to rethink the lone madman theory in conjunction with the Swiss antique weapon espoused as the murder weapon back in the beginning, we might want to consider that a Geneva psychiatric hospital played an important role with Iraq’s only psychiatric hospital.

How many times has Eric floated theories, hoping they might lead somewhere?
I expect they have ruled out
Steven Havutçu & the five suspects who were involved with the killing of
Nicole Communal-Tournier, Eric Devouassoux, Jean-Luc Falcy, Zaad al-Hilli, William Brett Martin, Papa Schutz, Patrice Menegaldo and so on?
Nothing ever happens in Annecy, and it wasn’t happening from 2012 to 2014.

And nothing was under the floormats of the al-Hilli vehicle, whether or not they were aware of it (certainly nothing that could be swabbed by investigators).
Was there a secret compartment in the al-Hilli vehicle?

but the road sign shows it spelt Lathuille?

From the Indy
“The local man, Mr Mollier, was also on a random ride, on a route that he had never taken before.”
Ho hum – best blend that in somewhere – I suppose.
“In the absence of official progress, more lurid theories have bred, and inter-bred, on the internet and in the media.”
OK – I gotta fess up now – that was me – running an underground* media lab, inter-breeding memes using genetical algorithms. I never intended it to go lurid – I swear.
(*) In my mom’s basement.
GIP, that is the problem with the likes of MN, a statement put out there with absolutely nothing to back it up.
Indy link is down to the number of guns produced, very, very good luck with that !
Q, ‘DNA on the bumper could belong to Brett Martin’ ? Think once and then think again ….
The chances of the random DNA being of importance is low unless they truly think it is related to to the crime because of where and how.
I wonder if the mystery man at the campsite left his DNA when he tapped the bonnet of the car ?
Has he come forward and ‘mis hors cause’?
I should have said “William Martin”, M. My apologies.
MN, first line gives the answer
https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lathuile
M, yes, a very local way of writing it.
Lathuile,
sometimes locally written as lathuille, is a French commune located in the south of the Haute-Savoie department in the Rhône-Alpes region. Member of the community of communes of Faverges country, the municipality had 982 inhabitants in 2012. The village is located on the west bank of Lake Annecy, waterfront without being at the beginning of Faverges Valley. The town is a member of the regional park of the Bauges.
However, as the Slaughter of the Horses actually occurred in the land of the commune of Doussard but the press have usually reported the scene as having happened in the commune of Chevaline,
I wonder why the Daily Express shows a photograph of Lathuille,
do we think that the Daily Express believe that the Commune of Lathuille plays a very strong part in these mysteries?
@M Without checking I do not know the real story on the passports some reports said Suhaila had passports on her some said they were on the floor it was well discussed along the way no time to check it out right now with the xmas rush underway .
Pink, did “they” not first report the passports were missing.
Then a long while later they were found in a jacket in a FRENCH police station.
I do not remember this being explained?
Yes MN I think it was SAH passport and some were in the car the story morphed so much I am not sure which one won out, passports were covered on the blogs so the tale is probably to be found on here somewhere.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/france/11296040/Passport-of-Alps-murder-victim-found-in-police-lab-after-almost-two-years.html
If the passports have been “messed with”
perhaps, they too should be checked for unknown DNA?
I suppose “they” have checked Sylvain Mollier’s stuff
for unknown DNA
It would be interesting to know if there is a DNA match
( from stuff from the scene of the Slaughter of the Horses)
from the FIRE building adjacent to the Pharmacie in Grignon?
Ton Higham has recovered useful human DNA from a jaw bone in Kents Cavern, DEVon which dates from 41-44 thousand years ago.
So, it would be exceptionally bizarre if only two unknown DNA traces,
could be recovered in the Haute-Savoie from a multiple murder scene, with four dead bodies, two living people and hundreds of artifacts.
