The mainstream media for the most part has moved on. But there are a few more gleanings to be had, of perhaps the most interesting comes from the Daily Mirror, which labels al-Hilli an extremist on the grounds that he was against the war in Iraq, disapproved of the behaviour of Israel and had doubts over 9/11 – which makes a great deal of the population “extremist”. But the Mirror has the only mainstream mention I can find of the possibility that Mossad carried out the killings. Given Mr al-Hilli’s profession, the fact he is a Shia, the fact he had visited Iran, and the fact that Israel heas been assassinating scientists connected to Iran’s nuclear programme, this has to be a possibility. There are of course other possibilities, but to ignore that one is ludicrous.
Which leads me to the argument of Daily Mail crime reporter, Stephen Wright, that the French police should concentrate on the idea that this was a killing by a random Alpine madman or racist bigot. Perfectly possible, of course, and the anti-Muslim killings in Marseille might be as much a precedent as Mossad killings of scientists. But why the lone madman idea should be the preferred investigation, Mr Wright does not explain. What I did find interesting from a man who has visited many crime scenes are his repeated insinuations that the French authorities are not really trying very hard to find who the killers were, for example:
the crime scene would have been sealed off for a minimum of seven to ten days, to allow detailed forensic searches for DNA, fibres, tyre marks and shoe prints to take place.
Nearby bushes and vegetation would have been searched for any discarded food and cigarette butts left by the killer, not to mention the murder weapon.
But from what I saw at the end of last week, no such searches had taken place and potentially vital evidence could have been missed. House to house inquiries in the local area had yet to be completed and police had not made specific public appeals for information about the crime. No reward had been put up for information about the shootings.
Behind the scenes, what other short cuts have been taken? Have police seized data identifying all mobile phones being used in the vicinity of the murders that day?
The idea that the French authorities – who are quite as capable as any other of solving cases – are not really trying very hard is an interesting one.
Which leads me to this part of a remarkable article from the Daily Telegraph, which if true points us back towards a hit squad and discounts the ides that there was only one gun:
Claims that only one gun was used to kill everybody is likely to be disproved by full ballistics test results which are out in October.
While the 25 spent bullet cartridges found at the scene are all of the same kind, they could in fact have come from a number of weapons of the same make.
This throws up the possibility of a well-equipped, highly-trained gang circling the car and then opening fire.
Both children were left alive by the killers, who had clinically pumped bullets into everybody else, including five into Mr Mollier.
Zainab was found staggering around outside the car by Brett Martin, a British former RAF serviceman who cycled by moments after the attack, but he saw nobody except the schoolgirl.
Her sister, Zeena, was found unscathed and hiding in the car eight hours later.
Both sisters are now back in Britain, and are believed to have been reunited at a secret location near London.
There are of course a number of hit squad options, both governmental and private, which might well involve iraqi or Iranian interests – on both of which the mainstream media have been very happy to speculate while almost unanimously ignoring Israel.
But what interests me is why the Daily Telegraph choose, in the face of all the evidence, to minimise the horrific nature of the attack by stating that “Both children were left alive by the killers”? Zainab was not left alive by design, she was shot in the chest and her skull was stove in, which presumably was a pretty serious attempt to kill a seven year-old child. The other girl might very well have succeeded in hiding from the killers under her mother’s skirts, as she hid from the first rescuers, and then for eight hours from the police.
The Telegraph article claims to be informed by sources close to the investigation. So they believe it was a group of people, and feel motivated to absolve those people from child-killing. Now what could the Daily Telegraph be thinking?
The MC driver was stopped by National Forest agents, but still hasn´t been identified:
“Investigators are still looking for a motorcycle seen that day. The driver was not far from where the killing when he was arrested by agents of the ONF (National Forest). The latter asked him to leave the area because the forest is home to the Combe d’Ire partly a nature reserve, where traffic is prohibited.
English or a cyclist would have crossed this same bike lowest moments later, before discovering the bodies of victims. The driver is he the murderer? Only certainty biker went near the vehicle of Al-Hilli in the slot of the drama. Despite calls for testimony , it still has not appeared.”

@Felix: Mention of Gareth Williams’ own DNA is noticeably absent in news stories. Dental records? Old x-rays of his bones? Not mentioned.
Maybe they followed the procedure I read about recently: if there’s a body in a room and the door is locked, it’s safe to assume the body belongs to the person who lives in the room. Seriously, that is considered good procedure in investigations.

25 Oct, 2012 – 3:07 pm I get the possibility that the initial call was made at 3.48 by Didierjean. I am happy to do so. The big point is, that if this is what happened a lot of people have LIED or at the very least been very inaccurate. It’s one thing to get the time you met the wife for coffee wrong by + or – ten minutes, but quite another for the police or principal witnesses to get it wrong. If Didierjean did make the call at 3.48 the police got it wrong. They said Martin did. Didierjean got it wrong. He said he got to Combe d’Ire at 4.01 and met Martin at 4.10. Martin got it wrong because he said his journey took an hour and a half and he started it at 2.30. Of course he also said he had no signal not that he tried to send a message and then found he had no signal. As I have said many times, this phone call is significant because if it WAS made by Didierjean at 3.48 it must place Martin at the scene AT LEAST twenty minutes before with its implications for his story of the events and his part in them.
Of course it would be very easy to settle this matter. The French authorities merely have to publish a clear time line and transcripts of the recorded messages they received. I am sure this could be done without prejudicing any of their investigations.

24 Oct, 2012 – 8:13 am Of course Felix as I discovered belatedly, WBM made TWO broadcasts, one of just over 10 mins. to BBC World Service, the edited highlights appear to have formed the a three minute version for BBC News and another slightly longer and more searching one for Sky. Both appear to have used the same rather basic interview room, not it would appear a proper studio. It is only when you put the two together is his full version of events discernible.

24 Oct, 2012 – 1:21 pm. Are all the journo’s imbeciles or are they being prevented from asking the write questions. I want to believe we have a free press in a free country but it’s becoming increasingly difficult to do so. Are we ALL being hoodwinked ALL of the time? I am even starting to think that the Jimmy Savile story is just a useful diversionary tactic.
I take you point Straw44berry
24 Oct, 2012 – 8:19 pm. It is something I noted but have never commented on. In a large empty car park I would say it is not to be disregarded. I would describe it as being “tucked in”. He is not parked at the top end perhaps more obvious to traffic coming up – less chance of being clocked by passers by? Also passenger’s door nice and clear to facilitate entry to a visitor? There is no obvious explanation why he should park so close to the undergrowth. Remember this is a very RATIONAL man. Nothing done without good reason.

25 Oct, 2012 – 8:29 am Many moons ago a poster established it was a manual. He appeared knowledgeable and convincing.
” Yet all the graphics put Zeena by the big stain and Mollier on the front right quarter which we still don’t know is where he was “found” by WBM or where by his own account he moved him. The problem is there seems to be little blood staining where Mollier was said to be and a lot where little Zainab was said to be.”
Sorry I stupidly wrote Zeena instead of Zainab. Well it is late. Hope you still get the gist of my argument.
@TimV
As I might have said before, I think the Philippe D/Didierjean appearance is a fabrication. This seemed,/i> to be confirmed to me when Ms Kim Willsher failed to provide me with a source for the name – for which she is solely responsible.

Still cannot understand this completely unfocused discussion, now throwing in the erroneous and incomplete death notice for Dr. David Kelly, and the ‘false flag’ Mossad killing of that Iraqi by a kidon temptress just to stir up the immigrant Iraqi community in Sweden over 25 years ago.
I would think that the Annecy massacre would be enough to completely capture any sleuth’s attention.

@Trowbridge
Thank you for the link (at last).
So one shot, then two more, were heard from the kitchen, as reported by one eye witness. (Seemingly contradicting the NY Post which reported Abed as having been shot four times in the head, but still.)
And here’s what you said:
Hershy is reported to have taken the pistol away from the guard, then fired one shot at al-Abed, and then two more to make sure that he was really dead, like what happened to the four adults at Annecy.
– Trowbridge H. Ford 25 Oct, 2012 – 12:05 pm
But how do you know this was “like what happened to the four adults at Annecy”?
This is where you go off the rails, and into the realms of fantasy.
The facts are that we don’t know what happened in the kitchen, only that this witness reports three shots being fired, with a gap of unspecified duration between the first and second shots.
And in the Annecy case, only SM is reported as having been shot in the body before being shot in the head. The other three were reported as having been shot twice in the head, and we simply don’t know if they were shot twice in quick succession, or if they were shot once, then again to make sure they were dead.
So there is nothing in the modus operandi of these two crimes to link these two cases.
I invite the reader to read the entire ynet article you quoted to see if the impression they get is really that of a secret Mossad operative, or of someone who has quite simply lost the plot, gone postal, and taken revenge on the person he saw as responsible for his dismissal from work, and expulsion from the Oranim program.
Of course, Felix’s story about the missing temptress provided no photograph of her, so here apparently is one:

Just shows that the Mossad never uses the same MO in an assassination, whether it is getting some Iraqi or British defector.
Eilat hotel worker: We knew Hershkovitz was coming for Armando
Friend of American who was shot dead by police after killing Eilat hotel employee says, ‘We didn’t think he would take dispute this far’
Meir Ohayon Published: 10.06.12, 20:28 / Israel News
“We called him Willie. From day one he seemed a little weird,” an employee who was close to William Hershkovitz told Ynet. Hershkovitz, an American volunteer of the ‘Oranim’ American-Israeli work exchange program and an employee at the Leonardo Club Hotel in Eilat, murdered another employee on Friday and was then killed by the police’s counterterrorism unit.
“He used to say he wanted to change the world,” Hershkovitz’s friend said, “but neither of us thought he would take it this far.”
“He had messy hair and didn’t talk clearly. As if he was on something every single minute. He hardly ever spoke, and everyone thought he was weird.” The employee stressed that despite everything, no one expected Hershkovitz to act as he did. “It was a complete shock” he said, “but as soon as I heard the victim was Armando (Abed), I knew it was William who did it, as the two had a severe conflict going on.”
“On the day before the incident (Thursday), William seemed uneasy. He arrived at work at 6 am and was extremely edgy. He came through the back door so that no one could see him. He kept walking in and out, his legs were shaking, and his behavior was extremely weird.” The hotel employee told Ynet, “It was really hard communicating with him, both because of his strange behavior and because he spoke English.”
According to the employee, the night before the murder, Hershkovitz got drunk and “kept complaining how bad he was doing.”
“Everyone knew he was coming for Armando, he wanted to close the deal with him,” the employee said, “I was in the dinning room during the shooting, while it all happened in the kitchen downstairs. We heard it all. We heard one shot, and then everyone got scared and started running.
“Two additional shots were then heard from the same place, and another one from the lobby,” he recalled.
AP reported that according to an anonymous participant in the program, Hershkovitz threatened to kill other program participants in the past, but management ignored their complaints. “He used to talk to himself and tell us of dreams where he randomly killed people, and often cursed Arabs and Nazis.”
The southern resort management is determined to go back to ‘business as usual’, with varied music shows playing in the lobby. However, the tragedy is far from being forgotten, at least with the hotel’s employees.
The atmosphere amongst the employees is harsh. Some of them have suffered anxiety attacks and were forced to take extensive breaks.
The hotel chef, who was evacuated to the hospital with a panic attack, had trouble getting back to work as well. He arrived at the hotel early in the morning, but soon had to go back to the hospital for further anxiety treatment.
Close friends of the chef told Ynet they have never seen him this anxious. “He was always such a cheerful person. But after what happened with his souse chef, he’s a wreck. He keeps thinking that it could have been him who got killed, and he is going through an emotional breakdown. It is after all his closest right hand man who was killed,” one friend said.

Yes, very odd about Mockford.
Belgian police have imposed a news blackout after Nicholas Mockford, 60, was shot as he left an Italian restaurant in Neder-over-Heembeek, a suburb of the capital.
…
The Belgian prosecutor’s office said last night that there was a “judicial instruction” from Martine Quintin, the investigating judge, that meant they could give no “explanation” and no detail about the killing.
“This is usual in such a serious murder investigation,” a spokesman said.
…
One family member told The Daily Telegraph he believed Mr Mockford had been killed in a professional hit.
…
The relation said Mrs Mockford was recovering from the ordeal and had not been badly hurt. “He was always very tight-lipped about what he did, even when sitting around with the family,” the relation added.

Wonder what he really did, then?
Oh, finally back now, Ferret, making no explanation of your previous gross mistakes, and offering no apologies.
All you can do is cherry-pick items from the link which suit your mindless, cover up efforts.
Still no mention or explanation of the bitter on-going dispute William had with al-Abed, one so bitter that while Armando was being killed another Arab-Israeli chef feared so much for his own life that he had to go to the hospital a few times.
You really think that “a nice guy” who wanted to change the world threatened the lives of these chefs and killed one of them because of some kitchen dispute?
Then there is Hershkovitz threatening the lives of other members of the Oranim recruiting program, ones who were doing the same things he was.
Then there is no problem of comparing the killings of al-Abed with those of the al-Hillis et al. since there are still no pictures or explanations of what their corpses looked like.
The only thing I saw was that DNA had to be used to identify those of Sushaila and one of the men.
We do know from reports about William’s nightmares that he mutilated ones he recalled, and apparently engaged in the same behavior in making sure that Armando was murdered
And still nothing about William being so sure about killing with a pistol that he dropped the axe he was carrying while stalking Armando, taking one way from the security guard, and having no trouble instantly firing it.
He sure was some poor, defenseless Jewish mama’s boy!
I wonder if these beastly killings are not the gruesome spill over effects of 1) the setting up of a brand new country in 1948, by the name of “Israel”, and the forceful exilation of more than a million people (750.000 Palestinians in 1948, 200.000 in 1967 + 80.000 Syrians) and particularly (since they happen now) 2) The invasion of Iraq in 2003, which Israel always wanted just to be a precursor to a war with what it considers a much greater foe, Iran. But the Iraqie insurgents saw to that the war never went any further. The beastly insurgency and the reported killing by Israel of scores of Iraqie scientists as well as Iranians ones the last 5 years, is now spilling over into Europe, and the authorities are keeping a lid on it, in order that some bright ciotizens should not start to put two and two together and ask themselves who started this spiral of violence in the Middle East?

As they changed names & ages it’s impossible to be sure of anything , but ‘Jamila’ by age could easily be Igbal….she looks like a 19 year old in that pic with Saddam.
Just imagine if it is, that would mean there are two sons somewhere .
We established long ago how easy it was to get a fake passport in Sweden…….we were also told she was in fact working in Dubai when Saad met her. It was a whirlwind romance & quick marriage, Saad gave her an identity, postman never saw her she was obviously low key.
The Pilot ex-husband & Iraqi airlines is close & I wonder where he is now, is he Jamila first son ?…….geez some people have such exiting lives !!!
RE: the placement of bodies.
As a living person bleeds more than the dead, I do believe the large patch of blood could have come from Zainab, Mollier lost most blood inside the car & would have stopped bleeding by the time he was dragged out of the car & put in place.
Zainab was on the bonnet when she was caught by a bullet bouncing off the screen, she fell close to the car,the killer had to quickly drag her out of the way to open the car door & finish off the adults.
She may or may not have been ‘staggering’ towards the road when man with nurrrrves of sssteel turned up.
And now you cover your biased tracks as best you can by posting, apparently not liked by the moderators, the whole article, hoping that other posters will not take the trouble to see the most damagaing bits about Hershkovitz in it.
This is work by covert operators, far more interested in protecting the Mossad than solving the murders in France.

NYer shot dead after killing boss at Israel hotel: cops
By ORON DAN in Tel Aviv and FRANK ROSARIO and DAN MacLEOD in NY

A 23-year-old Poughkeepsie resident was killed in Israel by security forces yesterday after opening fire and killing his old boss in a hotel a day after being fired, officials said.
William Herskowitz — whom cops described as “nervous” in the days leading up to the tragedy — allegedly stole a security guard’s gun at the hotel in Eilat where he had been working for only two weeks.
He fired rounds on his way to the kitchen, where he fatally shot his former boss, Armando Abed, 33.
“[Herskowitz] came with a mission,” said David Bitan, deputy chief of the south region of the Israeli police, adding that the New Yorker blamed Abed for being fired.
“[Herskowitz first] attacked an officer from the back. There was chaos,” said Bitan. “Other security officers from the hotel came to help, but it was too late … he already took [the security officer’s] weapon.”
“The security officer fell on the ground,” said witness Nisim Ruby. “I came over there and tried to help and released the security officer from [Herskowitz’s] grip.”
But Herskowitz got the weapon and dashed into the dining room, firing a few times and scattering customers as he went, cops said.
In the kitchen, he shot Abed in the head four times at point-blank range, cops said.
Anti-terrorism police responded and tried for an hour to coax Herskowitz out of the kitchen, cops said.
But he began shooting at them, and they returned fire and killed him.
Security footage showed that Herskowitz ate breakfast at the hotel restaurant immediately before grabbing the security guard’s gun, Israeli media reported.
Herskowitz had been in Israel since Aug. 27 on a Jewish work program called Israel Way, a spokesman for the program said.
He was supposed to be in Israel for five months with a group of 80 travelers, during which time he would travel around the country and learn Hebrew.
“The HR manager of the hotel received several complaints [about Herskowitz] and they decided that he would leave the hotel, and would leave the project,” said program spokesman Yuval Arad.
Herskowitz was supposed to return to the United States on Tuesday, he said.
Arad did not say what types of complaints were lodged, but Herskowitz’s roommate told cops that the troubled man would wake up in the middle of the night and punch walls, police said.
A Scarsdale relative reached by phone declined to comment.
A grieving chorus of weeping women could be heard in the background.
Herskowitz’s mother was crying outside her Poughkeepsie house yesterday afternoon, neighbors said.
Her son attended SUNY New Paltz, where he majored in visual and performing arts, according to his LinkedIn profile. He worked at a nearby pizzeria, neighbors said.
Herskowitz was kind and enjoyed skateboarding, pottery and playing guitar, shocked neighbors said.
“He would play with the kids in the neighborhood, go skateboarding with them and play basketball and video games,” said Kathleen Orr, 38. “He was a regular kid, but he was also very talented. He walked around or rode on a skateboard with a guitar slung on his back. My kids always thought he was so cool. He’d take kids up to the park and play guitar and sing songs for them. He had ambition and it seemed liked he really loved life.”
“I last saw him riding on his skateboard two or three weeks ago. He said that he was going to Israel very soon and that once he was settled down he would take his mom with him and they’d stay there,” said Brendon Jordan, 19, a good friend of Herskowitz’s.
