Not Forgetting the al-Hillis 22278

The mainstream media for the most part has moved on. But there are a few more gleanings to be had, of perhaps the most interesting comes from the Daily Mirror, which labels al-Hilli an extremist on the grounds that he was against the war in Iraq, disapproved of the behaviour of Israel and had doubts over 9/11 – which makes a great deal of the population “extremist”. But the Mirror has the only mainstream mention I can find of the possibility that Mossad carried out the killings. Given Mr al-Hilli’s profession, the fact he is a Shia, the fact he had visited Iran, and the fact that Israel heas been assassinating scientists connected to Iran’s nuclear programme, this has to be a possibility. There are of course other possibilities, but to ignore that one is ludicrous.

Which leads me to the argument of Daily Mail crime reporter, Stephen Wright, that the French police should concentrate on the idea that this was a killing by a random Alpine madman or racist bigot. Perfectly possible, of course, and the anti-Muslim killings in Marseille might be as much a precedent as Mossad killings of scientists. But why the lone madman idea should be the preferred investigation, Mr Wright does not explain. What I did find interesting from a man who has visited many crime scenes are his repeated insinuations that the French authorities are not really trying very hard to find who the killers were, for example:

the crime scene would have been sealed off for a minimum of seven to ten days, to allow detailed forensic searches for DNA, fibres, tyre marks and shoe prints to take place.
Nearby bushes and vegetation would have been searched for any discarded food and cigarette butts left by the killer, not to mention the murder weapon.
But from what I saw at the end of last week, no such searches had taken place and potentially vital evidence could have been missed. House to house inquiries in the local area had yet to be completed and police had not made specific public appeals for information about the crime. No reward had been put up for information about the shootings.
Behind the scenes, what other short cuts have been taken? Have police seized data identifying all mobile phones being used in the vicinity of the murders that day?

The idea that the French authorities – who are quite as capable as any other of solving cases – are not really trying very hard is an interesting one.

Which leads me to this part of a remarkable article from the Daily Telegraph, which if true points us back towards a hit squad and discounts the ides that there was only one gun:

Claims that only one gun was used to kill everybody is likely to be disproved by full ballistics test results which are out in October.
While the 25 spent bullet cartridges found at the scene are all of the same kind, they could in fact have come from a number of weapons of the same make.
This throws up the possibility of a well-equipped, highly-trained gang circling the car and then opening fire.
Both children were left alive by the killers, who had clinically pumped bullets into everybody else, including five into Mr Mollier.
Zainab was found staggering around outside the car by Brett Martin, a British former RAF serviceman who cycled by moments after the attack, but he saw nobody except the schoolgirl.
Her sister, Zeena, was found unscathed and hiding in the car eight hours later.
Both sisters are now back in Britain, and are believed to have been reunited at a secret location near London.

There are of course a number of hit squad options, both governmental and private, which might well involve iraqi or Iranian interests – on both of which the mainstream media have been very happy to speculate while almost unanimously ignoring Israel.

But what interests me is why the Daily Telegraph choose, in the face of all the evidence, to minimise the horrific nature of the attack by stating that “Both children were left alive by the killers”? Zainab was not left alive by design, she was shot in the chest and her skull was stove in, which presumably was a pretty serious attempt to kill a seven year-old child. The other girl might very well have succeeded in hiding from the killers under her mother’s skirts, as she hid from the first rescuers, and then for eight hours from the police.

The Telegraph article claims to be informed by sources close to the investigation. So they believe it was a group of people, and feel motivated to absolve those people from child-killing. Now what could the Daily Telegraph be thinking?

“MEK can now be “directly” funded by the US now.”

America’s new (or now official) proxy?

  • Ferret

Dave, a word of warning: Katie is nuts, don’t drive yourself crazy about it. She make stuff like that up just to throw people (mind you, it might be true, who knows…) But, she is nuts.

  • Ricki Tarr

I think the Nuclear link is the only reason for Mollier to be involved?

Unless this was a sting that I have mentioned a few times and the material was given to him by an agency to track!

Why did he want a job at CERN?

  • James

James did not Katie. James did not.
    Infact that’s the thing.
I doubt there is a registered company for him.
I think….anyway, it doesn’t matter what I think, I am not rooting arond Dubaishire for things like that.

  • dave brooker

“Why did he want a job at CERN?”

Because work in aerospace is drying up and it would have been well paid?

    @Q
“Dubai, Dubai: why do so many people who end up in the news have connections there? Russell Williams, the Van Doos, Saad al-Hilli. Question is rhetorical.”

It’s well known Russell Williams’ father was a metallurgist at Chalk River, but his step-father, Jerry Sovka, was project manager for Candu reactor installations in South Korea, China, etc. and is project manager for ITER down in Aix-en-Provence, 3 hours south of Annency by road. At least he was as of 2007.

Over on David Ickes, “The cyclist that was killed (Mollier) worked for Areva. Areva is involved with the Tokamak (ITER) Cooling Water System.

A question: on the conjectured D-Notice, who is the “he” the press is not to mention “his” involvement with certain things? We assume it’s SAH but could it be SM or even BM?

All – Thanks for the kind comments on my attempt at humor with yesterday’s kitten post.

    “And Dubaishire isn’t cheap.”

And he was there back in the day when it was the place to be.

Easy for someone to suggest some extra work to suppliment his income and keep his new bride happy, and then fast forward to 2011, father dies, house left to boys, suddenly big family house is to be sold to pay off brother and taxman, some quick money is needed…

    I cannot work out if “Sa’ad” was…
The West, U.S., Israel, MEK or Iran, Syria, Hezbollah.

But given the current political climate and events, I think “representatives” where all there that day.

Maybe “the Mollier” trail will provide the answer to “who’s on who’s side”.
But I can see where it all started.

    Aldermaston

    New Developments

In 2002, AWE Management Ltd published a plan to redevelop and build new facilities at the Aldermaston site. These ongoing developments are on a massive scale (AWE reported the scale of construction as being equivalent to that required in building Heathrow Airport’s Terminal Five). Costs are estimated to be in excess of £5 billion and over 1,500 additional personnel have been employed.

CND believes that the purpose of many of the new facilities is to develop a new generation of nuclear weapons. This major redevelopment at Aldermaston ties in with the parliamentary decision in 2007 to develop a new generation of nuclear-armed submarines to replace the current system Trident after 2028. Aldermaston will be responsible for the warheads for this new system.

    Computer Facilities

New supercomputer facilities have been a big focus of the new developments at Aldermaston. These facilities give AWE one of the most powerful computer systems in the world – possibly only exceeded by the supercomputers used in the US for its atomic weapons’ development. Computer simulations will be augmented by experimental data provided by other new facilities being built at Aldermaston.

Using these facilities, means that new nuclear warheads could be developed without the need for a nuclear weapon test explosion. This kind of test is not allowed under the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT); the UK has signed and ratified this treaty.

    Orion Laser

The old laser facility at the AWE site has been replaced by a new facility which is 1,000 times more powerful. Data from the Orion laser facility and the supercomputers are likely to be used to gain a better understanding of the physics behind nuclear explosions and therefore aid computer simulations used in the design of new warheads. It is believed that scientists are working closely with the National Ignition Facility in the US which has similar capabilities.

It’s certainly a nice place to sit whilst you way.
And there are plenty of opportunities there. It’s a melting pot.

    The National Ignition Facility:

Ushering in a New Age for Science

Scientists have been working to achieve self-sustaining nuclear fusion and energy gain in the laboratory for more than half a century. Ignition experiments at the National Ignition Facility (NIF) at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) are now bringing that long-sought goal much closer to realization.

NIF’s 192 giant lasers, housed in a ten-story building the size of three football fields, will deliver at least 60 times more energy than any previous laser system. NIF will focus more than one million joules of ultraviolet laser energy on a tiny target in the center of its target chamber—creating conditions similar to those that exist only in the cores of stars and giant planets and inside a nuclear weapon. The resulting fusion reaction will release many times more energy than the laser energy required to initiate the reaction.

Experiments conducted on NIF will make significant contributions to national and global security, could lead to practical fusion energy, and will help the nation maintain its leadership in basic science and technology. The project is a national collaboration among government, academia, and many industrial partners throughout the nation.

    Dave…
I agree. I doubt he was into politics.
I think that’s been spoken of as a “red herring”.
And our man seems a charming chap. He even dated his best mates ex girlfriend….and still remained “best mates” with his best mate.
    Therein hangs a tale.

  • Katie

    Dave.
Ignore Ferret he has a personal vendetta to play out.

Proof of Dubai company in moderation.

    Brooker:

You meant hawala like the al barak (aks barakat co. Aka barakaat). The swedish hawala institution that made it on the usa terror list right after somebody called 911?

The swedish organisation deeply involved in hezbollah and alqaida fundung whose accounts were frozen?

Check what the swedish al saffars had todo with money raising an albarakaat bank in sweden ….

    http://www.theforbiddenknowledge.com/hardtruth/39_terrorist_orginizations.htm

Barakaat listed in the last chapter of the link above. If you have time search those compsnies.

You simply cant use hawala for money laundering after 911. You are immediately on the radar of intelligence services if you did.btw. Money was just one option. personally i am more on the WMD device smuggling track.

Device does not mean that they smuggled a 50 ton tank or a missile. Device means: important tiny part of a WMD.

    “The National Ignition Facility”

    etc.

Forget about all this, it’s irrelevant.

The Iranians are double desperate to develop a nucelar industry/bomb, that way America or Israel will have to leave them alone.

Our man lives in a house, a very big house (in the country), only problem is, it looks to be his parents, which is all fine and dandy until dad dies, and brother and taxman want their cut.

    Quick money is needed.

Clearly he’s spent time in Dubai, essentially Iran’s proxy importation base, a place where a man with ambition and a desire for nice things could be brought on side.

So when it all came on top with the house did our man look up some old contacts to try to do a bit of middleman business to make a quick buck?

    Can’t afford to fall out?

Or just the Dubai lifestyle of the boom years before the big property crash?

  • Ferret

Just for the record, Katie is lying about any so-called “vendetta” – and we’ve been over this ground before.

As everyone can tell, nobody here knows who anyone here is, unless they use their real name. (Hint: mine isn’t Ferret…)

So the idea that she knows who I am (or vice versa) from anywhere else is patently absurd.

  • Ricki Tarr

@James its very hard to see to be honest I agree, I just think that if the information is true about him being set up with AMS1087 by Mi6/Mi5 then he would have to be working for them! It just doesnt make sense with his hatred of the USA and Isael (unless this was cover).

Having read Spy Catcher by Peter Wright he reminds me a lot of SAH, he sounds like he has the same morals and skills!
PW he started at Marconi and became head of the tech team at Mi5 at a branch of Marconi, maybe SAH was the same working at SSTL, you dont get paid a lot to assist in securing your nation, its for the love of the game!

Maybe SAH got scared and was going to blow the whistle himself!

    Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (RAL)

    SAH reportedly worked at RAL.

Their website says it is the “Science & Technologies Facilities Council” (STFC)

STFC operates or hosts world class experimental facilities including:

    In the UK

    – ISIS pulsed neutron source
    – the Central Laser Facility
    – LOFAR
