Not Forgetting the al-Hillis 22278

The mainstream media for the most part has moved on. But there are a few more gleanings to be had, of perhaps the most interesting comes from the Daily Mirror, which labels al-Hilli an extremist on the grounds that he was against the war in Iraq, disapproved of the behaviour of Israel and had doubts over 9/11 – which makes a great deal of the population “extremist”. But the Mirror has the only mainstream mention I can find of the possibility that Mossad carried out the killings. Given Mr al-Hilli’s profession, the fact he is a Shia, the fact he had visited Iran, and the fact that Israel heas been assassinating scientists connected to Iran’s nuclear programme, this has to be a possibility. There are of course other possibilities, but to ignore that one is ludicrous.

Which leads me to the argument of Daily Mail crime reporter, Stephen Wright, that the French police should concentrate on the idea that this was a killing by a random Alpine madman or racist bigot. Perfectly possible, of course, and the anti-Muslim killings in Marseille might be as much a precedent as Mossad killings of scientists. But why the lone madman idea should be the preferred investigation, Mr Wright does not explain. What I did find interesting from a man who has visited many crime scenes are his repeated insinuations that the French authorities are not really trying very hard to find who the killers were, for example:

the crime scene would have been sealed off for a minimum of seven to ten days, to allow detailed forensic searches for DNA, fibres, tyre marks and shoe prints to take place.
Nearby bushes and vegetation would have been searched for any discarded food and cigarette butts left by the killer, not to mention the murder weapon.
But from what I saw at the end of last week, no such searches had taken place and potentially vital evidence could have been missed. House to house inquiries in the local area had yet to be completed and police had not made specific public appeals for information about the crime. No reward had been put up for information about the shootings.
Behind the scenes, what other short cuts have been taken? Have police seized data identifying all mobile phones being used in the vicinity of the murders that day?

The idea that the French authorities – who are quite as capable as any other of solving cases – are not really trying very hard is an interesting one.

Which leads me to this part of a remarkable article from the Daily Telegraph, which if true points us back towards a hit squad and discounts the ides that there was only one gun:

Claims that only one gun was used to kill everybody is likely to be disproved by full ballistics test results which are out in October.
While the 25 spent bullet cartridges found at the scene are all of the same kind, they could in fact have come from a number of weapons of the same make.
This throws up the possibility of a well-equipped, highly-trained gang circling the car and then opening fire.
Both children were left alive by the killers, who had clinically pumped bullets into everybody else, including five into Mr Mollier.
Zainab was found staggering around outside the car by Brett Martin, a British former RAF serviceman who cycled by moments after the attack, but he saw nobody except the schoolgirl.
Her sister, Zeena, was found unscathed and hiding in the car eight hours later.
Both sisters are now back in Britain, and are believed to have been reunited at a secret location near London.

There are of course a number of hit squad options, both governmental and private, which might well involve iraqi or Iranian interests – on both of which the mainstream media have been very happy to speculate while almost unanimously ignoring Israel.

But what interests me is why the Daily Telegraph choose, in the face of all the evidence, to minimise the horrific nature of the attack by stating that “Both children were left alive by the killers”? Zainab was not left alive by design, she was shot in the chest and her skull was stove in, which presumably was a pretty serious attempt to kill a seven year-old child. The other girl might very well have succeeded in hiding from the killers under her mother’s skirts, as she hid from the first rescuers, and then for eight hours from the police.

The Telegraph article claims to be informed by sources close to the investigation. So they believe it was a group of people, and feel motivated to absolve those people from child-killing. Now what could the Daily Telegraph be thinking?

    AND

Je veux m?associer à tous ceux qui prennent part à ce triste evenement.
    Très sincères condoléances Bernard .
    Yves et sa famille

Straight away the family call him Bernard.
Then his friend calls him Bernard.

You think he is known as Frederic now ?
That was his name. The name the press were given.

    Like Rodney…and Dave !

    Bluebird….

    actually when did he die.
Well the cremation was on the 3rd of Oct.
So need to flip back and get the date.

Keep that blog you found. It may very well be refering to our Frederic…sorry Bernard.

Both “Momo” and Bernard are dead.

It appears that they “could” have both been Chasseurs a l’Arc. (if we have the right people).

One is dead in a carpark, the other dead a few days later in a car fitting the discrption (make, model AND colour) of a car “allegedly” seen leaving that very carpark.

And the police fail to look into this !

Also of note is that they both would have been cremated.

11 Nov, 2012 – 11:02 am the upper hairpin was falsely put out as being the murder site but of course it wasn’t. It was the car park before the first hairpin/east turn. It is not clear why and from whom this fundamental error originated. Hopefully no one is under this misapprehension now. This Sky report says that the bodies were removed 24 hrs after the shooting. As they are not on the aerial photos but the car is it must fix the time of the photo at some time after 4pm on the sixth. Is this correct or there any earlier aerials without bodies? If so where are the bodies? Were they removed to vehicles/vans on site but not driven away until 4pm? Doesn’t quite make sense to me, how about everyone else?
p.s. I accept that Zainab was removed @ 12 midnight and apparently off in helicopter, so presumably it did night flight to Grenoble – unusual but not impossible I suppose but there remained the car occupants and SM and his bike that don’t appear on any photos?

By the way, since the article seems to have “gone away” do we know who the other two pax were in the “green or dark coloured 4×4” ?

or has one died in a freak boating accident and the other cut his own throat whilst shaving ??

I think Bernard could have told us a thing or two. But not anymore.
I wonder where the other two are ?

The entry was from sept 24th

    Thats the link
    http://tianplus.blogs.nouvelobs.com/apps/m/archive/2012/09/24/polemique-etes-vous-pour-l-interdiction-de-la-chasse-le-dima.html

It is empty. So nothing to verify.

It comes up on first page google search when you enter

    “Chasseurs a l’Arc bernard brun”

Perhaps it is just useless. I dont know. Too many Bruns here.

Where do we know the nickname MOMO from?

Has anyone checked any Brun family members being archers?

We must find out about why Nicolas Brun is on Mathis facebook page. I found a student Nicolas Brun in Geneve and there is also a Bernard Brun in Geneve. However, that could be a dead end. But Geneve would be a few steps from “Departement Ain”only ….

Airlift of Zainab was much earlier in daylight I have seen photos of the helicopter in a field??
Zeena removed at midnight in who know what. Wouldnt have thought a heli though.

All sorts of vehicles coming and going in photos and videos by the roadblock over the next 24 hours.
Vehicles from this comapany removed the bodies I assume:-

Pictures of their vehicles can be seen on the website and going past in videos/ photos too.

It can be done with “little” problem.
You would of course need (or would wish for) a landing zone that was clear…and some control to it. Landing in a dark wooded area is not pleasing, due to lack of reference points.
You wouldn’t be able to see clearly below (unless you had a night sun or something else fitted). Most air ambulance guys are ex Mil anyway, so would have many hours up.

And at the other end you would also want some controlled area (Hospital helipads I doubt are fitted out well), but Grenoble could have been picked out as a better option. and prob the base anyway.

Is that our frederic brun’s brother Jordan? He knows everything including archery! Bloody hell. He luves in Detroit! Why would a french get called Jordan? Ok, i know in what area Jordan is and what ot means in Hebrew, but ….

    False track? Help me!!!

    @ James

According to Marilyn Tomlins, its is very common in France to assume a different name from the one you were born with. Presumably not surnames though although I am not sure. I remember reading this on her blog ages ago.

It would be quite interesting to know if Alp Services did any work in the vicinity of Chevaline, perhaps following someone who had visited a Swiss bank in Geneva?

11 Nov, 2012 – 2:00 pm don’t you think that the absence of factual information about this fatal crash is strange. In Britain following a fatal car accident you would be sure to get quite a few column inches in a local paper including the names of those involved, where they came from and general facts about how it happened including a quote from the police. Virtually nothing on this one even the name of the person killed. Fred Brun was only young when he/she died for sure (32) which suggests accident or tragic disease.

  • olifant

Bluebird – MOMO appears as the nickname of the Sylvain Mollier on the Chasseurs de L’Arc website; he lives in Mandeure. Does his name appear amongst the mourners of Frederic Brun?

Bernard Brun, son papa; Catherine Boscardin et Daniel David, sa maman et son compagnon – his mother and her companion – are on the list of family mourners. The word ‘compagnon’ presumably means companion. …ont l’immense chagrin de vous faire part du décès accidentel de FrédéricBRUN dit “brindille”.. immense sorrow to announce the accidental death of.. à l’âge de 35 ans

At the bottom of the page is a line of text…
‘la compagne de Bernard, décédée en 2011. Cet avis tient lieu de faire-part’
‘the companion of Bernard, who died in 2011. This notice to serve as an invitation’
But on google the word ‘compagne’ seems to be used also for company as in business and in campaign as in Mitterand. Here the word is different from that applied to Daniel David.

  • bluebird

I checked catherine boscardin from ugine. Age fits as his mother.

    http://copainsdavant.com/p/catherine-boscardin-2212288

Continue to check her contact Boscardin below. Could be brother or husband. But why “Brun” when father’s name is Boscardin? So then, perhaps brother of his mother.

    Q
We know the plate number of the 4×4.
That only tells us that the car was registered in November 2011. The other newspaper said that it was registered in dept. 01. The logo of the dept. we could not see.

  • Tim V

tHE BREVITY OF THE REPORT IS VERY STRANGE. Also you see the comments section is closed. No details of number in the vehicle but if FB was in the back we must assume at least 3. Why at 8 pm would a 4×4 come off a mountain road near the top? Not intoxication hour really is it or dark even? Well maybe just I suppose.

  • olifant

should have said “compagne de” as in “partner of” Bernard whpo died last year, if that’s what it means. Looked for Bernards who died last year but Ugine doesnt come up and Savoie has far too many to check.

  • Tim V

    Shelock H.
11 Nov, 2012 – 3:13 pm the time of the accident appears to have morphed from eight pm to between 9 and 10 pm as well. In this the driver is called BRUN (Brown)but the victim doesn’t know the name of the victim?????? But wasn’t the dead person a Brun?????? Have I understood this correctly?

  • James

    Ofifant..

What do you mean you searched for Bernards ?

Bernard is what he (Brun) was known as.
He was (prob) named Frederic, but known as Bernard.
Hence the In Memory notice and friends comments.

I’m not sure people read back enough !

Bernard Brun is also “involved” (he was actually quiet well in” in the “hunting” scene..as was “Momo”.

The four-stage Alpine Challenge Annecy started in Annecy on September 6, 2012, just after the Chevaline incident:

    http://www.thealpinechallenge.com/routes.php#stage3
    http://www.tripadvisor.ca/ShowTopic-g187260-i1091-k5679565-Alpine_Challenge_bike_race_busy_in_and_around_town-Annecy_Haute_Savoie_Rhone_Alpes.html
    http://www.chainreactionhub.com/latest-news/17-events/362-alpine-challenge-2012-event-joined-by-a-host-of-sporting-stars

There were to road closures. Ugine is near stage three of the race. I would imagine many cyclists were in the area, doing route familiarization and training in advance of the event. There would have been many cyclists on expensive racing bicycles at that time.

  • James

    Bluebird and Tim

Then the timing of that quote is out by a couple of days.

Wed 26th the quote. Sat 29th the crash.

And Momo comes from Mollier himself.
He calls himself that on the website.

You can find him on there giving info and pics of making a hunting knife pouch. No face pic, but a pic of the side of him wearing that “green T shirt”. Must be a hunter thing !

If you scroll down, he has a “happy birthday” on there to.
the 10th of June, if anyone is interested.
