The mainstream media for the most part has moved on. But there are a few more gleanings to be had, of perhaps the most interesting comes from the Daily Mirror, which labels al-Hilli an extremist on the grounds that he was against the war in Iraq, disapproved of the behaviour of Israel and had doubts over 9/11 – which makes a great deal of the population “extremist”. But the Mirror has the only mainstream mention I can find of the possibility that Mossad carried out the killings. Given Mr al-Hilli’s profession, the fact he is a Shia, the fact he had visited Iran, and the fact that Israel heas been assassinating scientists connected to Iran’s nuclear programme, this has to be a possibility. There are of course other possibilities, but to ignore that one is ludicrous.
Which leads me to the argument of Daily Mail crime reporter, Stephen Wright, that the French police should concentrate on the idea that this was a killing by a random Alpine madman or racist bigot. Perfectly possible, of course, and the anti-Muslim killings in Marseille might be as much a precedent as Mossad killings of scientists. But why the lone madman idea should be the preferred investigation, Mr Wright does not explain. What I did find interesting from a man who has visited many crime scenes are his repeated insinuations that the French authorities are not really trying very hard to find who the killers were, for example:
the crime scene would have been sealed off for a minimum of seven to ten days, to allow detailed forensic searches for DNA, fibres, tyre marks and shoe prints to take place.
Nearby bushes and vegetation would have been searched for any discarded food and cigarette butts left by the killer, not to mention the murder weapon.
But from what I saw at the end of last week, no such searches had taken place and potentially vital evidence could have been missed. House to house inquiries in the local area had yet to be completed and police had not made specific public appeals for information about the crime. No reward had been put up for information about the shootings.
Behind the scenes, what other short cuts have been taken? Have police seized data identifying all mobile phones being used in the vicinity of the murders that day?
The idea that the French authorities – who are quite as capable as any other of solving cases – are not really trying very hard is an interesting one.
Which leads me to this part of a remarkable article from the Daily Telegraph, which if true points us back towards a hit squad and discounts the ides that there was only one gun:
Claims that only one gun was used to kill everybody is likely to be disproved by full ballistics test results which are out in October.
While the 25 spent bullet cartridges found at the scene are all of the same kind, they could in fact have come from a number of weapons of the same make.
This throws up the possibility of a well-equipped, highly-trained gang circling the car and then opening fire.
Both children were left alive by the killers, who had clinically pumped bullets into everybody else, including five into Mr Mollier.
Zainab was found staggering around outside the car by Brett Martin, a British former RAF serviceman who cycled by moments after the attack, but he saw nobody except the schoolgirl.
Her sister, Zeena, was found unscathed and hiding in the car eight hours later.
Both sisters are now back in Britain, and are believed to have been reunited at a secret location near London.
There are of course a number of hit squad options, both governmental and private, which might well involve iraqi or Iranian interests – on both of which the mainstream media have been very happy to speculate while almost unanimously ignoring Israel.
But what interests me is why the Daily Telegraph choose, in the face of all the evidence, to minimise the horrific nature of the attack by stating that “Both children were left alive by the killers”? Zainab was not left alive by design, she was shot in the chest and her skull was stove in, which presumably was a pretty serious attempt to kill a seven year-old child. The other girl might very well have succeeded in hiding from the killers under her mother’s skirts, as she hid from the first rescuers, and then for eight hours from the police.
The Telegraph article claims to be informed by sources close to the investigation. So they believe it was a group of people, and feel motivated to absolve those people from child-killing. Now what could the Daily Telegraph be thinking?
This video is mainly about the Martin Luther King assassination but it may give you strong feelings of Chevaline deja vous !
The recording was made a year before 9/11. In some ways prophetic you may think.

Tim do you remember there was a Jack Saltman connection to the Martin Luther King assassination.?

The guy who produced the Kurt Waldheim documentary is the same Jack Saltman who lives in Claygate. Son of Solomon Saltman.
He must have made quite a few connections doing the James Earl Ray mock trial documentary.
He also gave evidence at the 1999 civil trial, at which the jury decided that James Earl Ray did not shoot Martin Luther King. The transcript of that trial is here.. That’s definitely the right Jack – he even gives his address in Claygate.

In early 2012, Turkish president Erdogan and MIT chief Hakan Fidan tipped off more than a dozen Iranian Mossad agents to Teheran.
Ex-Mossad chief Danny Jatom confirmed in early 2013 that all these Mossad agents were killed by Iranian and Turkish intelligence, both in Iran and abroad.
See the “David Ignatius” files (Washington post) for more details.
Some of these killed Mossad agents were scientists themselves, tipping off Iranian scientists to Mossad who worked for Iranian defence and nuclear science. This group of tipped off and killed Mossad agents had their Mossad contact bases in Turkey.
The Iranian Mossad agents were killed in the time bettween March 2012 and January 2013.
That’s just interesting in connection with SAH’s friend and neighbour Saltman who without doubt is working for Mossad.
Fascinating Pink. What a good memory! Yes I’d forgotten that link. As per Chevaline in all three US State organised assassinations of JFK, MLF and BK, the crime scenes were messed up, eye witnesses were not called, false trails introduced, innocents framed. The evidence is there in black and white yet ignored by government and swamped by the “official version”, whilst any attempt to reveal the truth is branded “conspiracy theory”. What a perverse paradox when it is clear conspiracy WAS involved at the highest levels of the state. We have witnessed the same phenomenon with 9/11, probably with Boston and with our own case of Chevaline. Indeed to stark are the similarities that a CIA/Mossad footprint is almost guaranteed I would suggest. Where Saltman fits into this I have no idea. Where did he actually stand on the MLK virtually unreported civil case? As with the fellow mentioned above pushing the new Al Queda “Lone Wolf” theory, its amazing how the Jewish/American/German connection keeps cropping up isn’t it?
so stark*
Here’s a little contribution of mine to Inquiring Minds on the subject if anyone’s interested.
“I have been amazed by the care with which the Government organised Martin
Luther King’s assassination.” Jim Douglas.
The You Tube reference below, is an interview with Jim Douglas, the author of,
“JFK and the Unspeakable”, published in 2008 in which he considers the notorious
assassinations of public figures in the Nineteen Sixties. He draws particular
attention to the on-going state of public denial that they could have been
organised and carried out by the Government of the United States itself.
He says, “The greatest purveyor of terrorism today is my own government.”
Significantly the interview was recorded just one year before the cataclysmic
events of 9/11. He says: “We don’t want to deal with evil. But who does?”
Only when the world’s population wakes up to the grim reality of a State within
a State – uncontrolled, unaccountable, incredibly powerful and deadly – is there
any hope that things will change for the better. The aphorism “the last thing a
clever sea fish would discover is salt water”, applies to us!
It is incumbent on every thinking person to realise how profound is the miasma,
how effective is the indoctrination, that permits the truth to be obscured and
the lie to be promulgated.
First the well planned crime with so many aspects; then the deceit; the
diversion; the innocent “patsy” to take the blame; the contamination or
obliteration of the crime scene; the planted incriminating evidence; the
pretence of a genuine police investigation or no police investigation; a rigged
commission of enquiry; the selective use of witnesses and not calling those who
do not conform to the story; the unfortunate subsequent deaths of witnesses; the
promotion of one official story to the exclusion of all others; subjecting
“non-conformists” to ridicule or intimidation; blocking lines of enquiry or
investigation; the control of a pliant media; the disappearance of official
documentation; the “loss of memory” of those involved; presidential pardons for
those accused; various forms of immunity or protections afforded the guilty;
subterfuge and cover-up; character assassination or legal restraints on those
who intend to “spill the beans”.
How frequently have we seen these same symptoms of the deadly disease? We are
conditioned to believe it is the enemy without, when in fact it is the enemy
within! END.

“Fascinating Pink. What a good memory!”
….
It stuck in my mind as I thought Jack Saltman seemed like a really interesting man at the time I was reading that thread and I would assume well able to think through what happened to Saad and his family, it would be interesting to know what he thinks.
……..
Mr Saltman was a Thames television producer of ..”Guilt or Innocence: The Trial of James Earl Ray” I am not sure what his personal opinions are .
A little info here :
“The investigative team also considered documents and information provided by private parties who have conducted their own investigations. Specifically, we spoke with Dr. William Pepper, who formerly represented James Earl Ray and currently represents the King family; Jack Saltman, producer of the 1993 HBO mock trial of James Earl Ray; Hickman Ewing, the “prosecutor” for the mock trial and a former United States Attorney in Memphis; Arthur Haynes, Jr., one of Ray’s first attorneys; and Gerald Posner, an author who recently wrote a book about the King assassination, including the Jowers allegations. We considered information and materials each provided. In addition, we considered witness “testimony” from the 1993 HBO mock trial of James Earl Ray. We also reviewed relevant pleadings, discovery materials, and hearing transcripts from post-conviction and civil litigation related to the assassination, including evidence from the trial of King v. Jowers. Finally, we collected and read hundreds of newspaper and magazine articles and several pertinent books.”

Is it possible that 2014 will be the year the American public will wake up the criminal scam that runs to the very top of government and demand truth, accountability and a return (?) to civilized standards of behaviour.
Just out of interest what’s happened to the police investigation of Chevaline? The world accepted the farcical official explanation of 9/11. Will the world similarly accept the equally farcical line that said police don’t have a clue “whodunnit”?
November 27 2012
The operation crushed a transnational criminal ring that supplied highly concentrated heroin to Russia. The cartel was active in Central Asia, Afghanistan and Gulf states, smuggling drugs across Central Asia, the neighboring former Soviet republics and countries of the European Union,” Ivanov said.
The drugs were seized at the final stage of Operation Kartel, launched in Russia’s Volga and Northwestern regions four years ago, he said
.”A BMW X-5 with Russian license plates was stopped in Naberezhniye Chelny early on November 23, and 90 kilograms of 50% concentration heroin was seized from its hiding places,” Ivanov told reporters on Tuesday.

Well ….
Certainly not the same BMW X5. But central Asian drug smugglers en route to europe seem to enjoy driving BMW X5.
What’s Craig Murray’s experience with BMW X5 while he did investigate the central asian heroin smuggling?

A photo of Sylvain Mollier. The first one ever released.
He looks like a prisoner in jail in this photo. What does he wear accross his head? Doesnt he look like “Pirate of the Carribian” actor here? And why is this in b/w?
SM wasnt that old that his photos as an adult should be in b/w.
This is a weird looking picture to say at least.
Thanks Pink & BB
Here is a screenshot from the F2 trailer:

Do they say its Sylvain BB ?
Thankyou for the screenshot Bleb ,Deadzone is a forum started by Max when MZT closed, its not very busy ATM but Lars and Max and a few others are keeping an eye out for anything newsworthy on the french side .

Significant this is the first ever photo of SM. It looks to me as if that’s a football goal net behind him. It would fit his kit. Must have been taken perhaps 20 years before. In other words an old photo that may appear very different to the older man.
In this latest reconstruction you will notice the position of the bike and SM himself is in a new location – both now on the nearside of the car, not on the opposite side as first uniformly suggested.
The bike it is now suggested lies beside him although he lies closer to the road than it. This contradicts WBM’s evidence that he saw the bike and daughter BEFORE he found SM. It would also mean that police moved this critical piece of scenes of crime evidence before the famous photograph with white suited forensics on site, which is highly unlikely. It also doesn’t fit the absence of any sign of the bike on those photographs, or the fact that it appears to be further up the lay-by on the opposite side.
Then to me they appear to have used a different model car although I’m not absolutely sure about this. Certainly however they represent the bike rack intact. This all could be put down to sloppy journalism but you would think by now they would aim for accuracy and even run it past the police first.
Finally they have the lone Luger shooter crouching above the sign where in fact he would have been fairly obvious to anyone in the lay-by. But significantly he is now shown in black balaclava. Where is the motor cycle helmet? Where is the motor cycle? After all it was the stated opinion of the Prosecutor that it was the m/c who was chief suspect and the ONF witness actually placed him at the scene only fifteen minutes before the shots were fired.
And who is the new silhouetted figure in the short clip. Is he the same as the Panorama ONF guy or another?
Oh and they seem to make a big point of a helmet or something in the road in front of the car. What’s that all about? Presumably suggestion it is SM’s cycling helmet? Would he lay his expensive bike down on the gravel? Would his helmet have come off unless he had unfastened it? (If accurate further evidence he had purposely dismounted and engaged with SAH rather than shot whilst still on the bike of course) This helmet location is a new take on the scene as far as I am aware. Again if so, it had been move by the time of the DM photo.
Just a note that many of the regulars here are over at my own little blog – http://squonk.tk/blog/ , for discussions outside this specific topic and pending further posts from Craig. All welcome.

The assassination of former Finance Minister Mohammad Shatah Friday has prompted many tourists to cancel their hotel room bookings for New Year’s Eve, dealing another blow to the shopping season. “We lost around 15 percent of our New Year reservations within two hours after the explosion,” said Mohammad Kanaan, director of Sales and Marketing at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Hamra.
Kanaan said most of the reservations were from Turkey, Egypt and Jordan. “We had 80 percent reservations this morning, but following the explosion it dropped to 65 percent and we are definitely expecting more cancellations to take place in the coming few hours.”Shatah, a senior aide to former Prime Minister Saad Hariri, was killed along with at least five others in a car bombing in Downtown Beirut Friday morning.
““The Dec. 17 plot is an assassination attempt hidden inside the package of corruption. The Dec. 17 plot is targeting the people’s government. It also targeted the national will, the ballot box and democracy,” said Erdoğan in his monthly message titled “on the way to serve people” referring to a graft probe started on Dec. 17.
Twenty-four people have been arrested as part of the corruption investigation that emerged in Turkey last month, including the sons of former Interior Minister Muammer Güler and former Economy Minister Zafer Çağlayan.
“An organization settled in the state institutions, particularly judiciary and police, has been attempting an assassination attack on Turkey’s stability and security atmosphere with the instructions it is taking from the outside,” said Erdoğan, in reference to the ongoing graft probe being a plot of an organization against the government.
“Some circles organized inside the judiciary are working to take the sovereignty from the people and give it to the judiciary and acted irresponsibly and militantly as if they were doing a judiciary coup,” said Erdoğan.”

Mojtaba Ahmadi, who served as commander of the Cyber War Headquarters, was found dead in a wooded area near the town of Karaj, north-west of the capital, Tehran. Five Iranian nuclear scientists and the head of the country’s ballistic missile programme have been killed since 2007. The regime has accused Israel’s external intelligence agency, the Mossad, of carrying out these assassinations.
Ahmadi was last seen leaving his home for work on Saturday. He was later found with two bullets in the heart, according to Alborz, a website linked to the Revolutionary Guard Corps. “I could see two bullet wounds on his body and the extent of his injuries indicated that he had been assassinated from a close range with a pistol,” an eyewitness told the website.
The commander of the local police said that two people on a motorbike had been involved in the assassination.”

The Palestinian ambassador to the Czech Republic was killed in an explosion at his Prague residence on Wednesday after a safe blew up as he was trying to open it.
Jamal al-Jamal, 56, suffered severe head, chest and stomach wounds in the incident. He was taken to Prague military hospital but later died from his injuries. An unidentified 52-year-old woman was also treated in hospital for shock and smoke inhalation.
There was no definitive explanation for the cause of the blast but early indications suggested it may have been an accident. Czech police said there was no evidence that the ambassador had been the victim of terrorism while Riad Malki, the Palestinian foreign minister, insisted no foul play was involved.”
If that is Sylvain, the style of football shirt is circa 1979/80 or thereabouts, we dont know the colour – it could be a French national shirt and be blue though the apparent white sleeves would appear to rule that out.
The current local football team is Evian Thonon Gaillard F.C. based in Annecy. However they were only formed in 2007 there was a previous team who werent very successful called FC Gaillard from 1924-2003. I have no joy finding any retro shirts or anything relating to this previous club.
If like many kids he wanted to support a successful team the Big team from 1965 until about 1980 were St Etienne they won the French league 9 times between 1964-1981 and wore green shirts predominantly. They are 130 miles from Ugine but as in Man U now or Liverpool in the 70s and 80s here kids want to support a winning team often nowhere near where they live.
Another more local possibility is Olympique Lyonnais whose colours are red white and blue. Their success has only been recent winning the league 7 times post 2000 but never before. They are still 100 miles away and I would think less likely.
Happy New Year everyone
Could it be a rugby shirt as his dad was big on rugby ?
A Happy New Year to you too Straw44berry and to Craig ,Jon and everyone else I have met here 🙂
Pink
I did try and look for French national rugby shirts but only remember them being plain not with white sleeves. I had no joy looking for Ugine Rugby shirts for that period. He doesnt look to be the build for rugby so perhaps he played football for AS Ugine. That would make the old style shirt probably be late 80s. I also considered a shirt relating to the Winter Olympics in Albertville in 1992 but had no joy finding any original shirts. From what we can see the shirt looks to have no logo, sponsor or even shirt maker. Even my shirts for games I remember having the Admiral make marked on them in the mid 70s.
I think his dad ran the local rugby club or something like that, I seem to remember something being said about SM ,whether it was that SM played and gave up or never started I can’t recall .
Off to bed Straw its back to work tomorrow 🙂
I found this I dont know if its any use.

Blue shirt. White collar. “Grey” sleeves.
They may have even made “the local papers” (hence the black and white picture).
P.S. The shirt looks “retro”. Then again I doubt funding would be around for amateur teams to “re do” their shirts every year.
