The mainstream media for the most part has moved on. But there are a few more gleanings to be had, of perhaps the most interesting comes from the Daily Mirror, which labels al-Hilli an extremist on the grounds that he was against the war in Iraq, disapproved of the behaviour of Israel and had doubts over 9/11 – which makes a great deal of the population “extremist”. But the Mirror has the only mainstream mention I can find of the possibility that Mossad carried out the killings. Given Mr al-Hilli’s profession, the fact he is a Shia, the fact he had visited Iran, and the fact that Israel heas been assassinating scientists connected to Iran’s nuclear programme, this has to be a possibility. There are of course other possibilities, but to ignore that one is ludicrous.
Which leads me to the argument of Daily Mail crime reporter, Stephen Wright, that the French police should concentrate on the idea that this was a killing by a random Alpine madman or racist bigot. Perfectly possible, of course, and the anti-Muslim killings in Marseille might be as much a precedent as Mossad killings of scientists. But why the lone madman idea should be the preferred investigation, Mr Wright does not explain. What I did find interesting from a man who has visited many crime scenes are his repeated insinuations that the French authorities are not really trying very hard to find who the killers were, for example:
the crime scene would have been sealed off for a minimum of seven to ten days, to allow detailed forensic searches for DNA, fibres, tyre marks and shoe prints to take place.
Nearby bushes and vegetation would have been searched for any discarded food and cigarette butts left by the killer, not to mention the murder weapon.
But from what I saw at the end of last week, no such searches had taken place and potentially vital evidence could have been missed. House to house inquiries in the local area had yet to be completed and police had not made specific public appeals for information about the crime. No reward had been put up for information about the shootings.
Behind the scenes, what other short cuts have been taken? Have police seized data identifying all mobile phones being used in the vicinity of the murders that day?
The idea that the French authorities – who are quite as capable as any other of solving cases – are not really trying very hard is an interesting one.
Which leads me to this part of a remarkable article from the Daily Telegraph, which if true points us back towards a hit squad and discounts the ides that there was only one gun:
Claims that only one gun was used to kill everybody is likely to be disproved by full ballistics test results which are out in October.
While the 25 spent bullet cartridges found at the scene are all of the same kind, they could in fact have come from a number of weapons of the same make.
This throws up the possibility of a well-equipped, highly-trained gang circling the car and then opening fire.
Both children were left alive by the killers, who had clinically pumped bullets into everybody else, including five into Mr Mollier.
Zainab was found staggering around outside the car by Brett Martin, a British former RAF serviceman who cycled by moments after the attack, but he saw nobody except the schoolgirl.
Her sister, Zeena, was found unscathed and hiding in the car eight hours later.
Both sisters are now back in Britain, and are believed to have been reunited at a secret location near London.
There are of course a number of hit squad options, both governmental and private, which might well involve iraqi or Iranian interests – on both of which the mainstream media have been very happy to speculate while almost unanimously ignoring Israel.
But what interests me is why the Daily Telegraph choose, in the face of all the evidence, to minimise the horrific nature of the attack by stating that “Both children were left alive by the killers”? Zainab was not left alive by design, she was shot in the chest and her skull was stove in, which presumably was a pretty serious attempt to kill a seven year-old child. The other girl might very well have succeeded in hiding from the killers under her mother’s skirts, as she hid from the first rescuers, and then for eight hours from the police.
The Telegraph article claims to be informed by sources close to the investigation. So they believe it was a group of people, and feel motivated to absolve those people from child-killing. Now what could the Daily Telegraph be thinking?

Goodnight
We seem to be back into politics I have been looking through some of the old info and BB made some pretty good observations back then it’s pointless me trying to work it out as I don’t have a clue ,I am moving towards a meeting between Sm and the family more now I have no idea why they would be meeting I can imagine some scenarios based on old posts I will just have to observe and learn.

where is Diffusion Pneus in 1034 ? (Google Street)
Bacchus
I dont know where it is on google maps but you see the links i gave you with its registration.
i looked into google street view of avenue jules bianco 5 and the pictures there are from 2010 when his registration there was still valid. I cannot see any pneus shop there though his company had a registration there.
We have company registrations but no companies or is his activity in the backyards of these houses?
Domething wrong with diffusion pneus? A cover up company? What can be transported inside diffusion pneus?
I remember the story of Saad always pumping his diffusion pneu on the camping ground.
What for can diffusion pneus get used other than for cars? For smuggling?
The alternative commercial use of diffusion pneus if you dont have a visible shop for putting it onto cars.

There is a warehouse-type building directly across the street from the apartment building where the former paratrooper is said to have met his end. Is this the tyre shop in question? It has no markings.
It is hard to ignore the underground economy of the Haute-Savoie. Some time ago, I posted information on the various activities carried out by Le Milieu. The Annecy area is a transit point for goods travelling from the south of France to Switzerland. We know that drugs are profitable for criminal organizations and T-groups. Human smuggling and trafficking of people also occurs, sometimes in holiday trailers. British passports are valuable for this purpose.
Thanks for the Victor/Victoria thing, DDT.

There are more Bruns in that house. Not just Marc and Frederique. This is the Brun house. They were a lot siblings.
Maybe it’s time for another look at who works for Le Milieu:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milieu_%28organized_crime_in_France%29
Your June 11th post is completely wrong, I really do not want readers of this blog to think you are right.
Cathy Ouvrier-Buffet is NOT Molliers ex-wife, the property at no.5 is a block of appartments as is 1034.
FREDERIQUE BRUN is a WOMAN, so not Frederic dit “Brindille’ Brun.
The FB that died, his mother is Catherine Boscardin, his father Bernard Brun, one sibling a sister, Aurore.
He didn’t have any brothers, he did not live across the road from Cathy, the vehicle number plate in which he died reveals it is from the Department 01, not a 73 or 74, who were the other occupants, no idea but it wasn’t his ‘brothers’, he didn’t have any.
FREDERIQUE even stood in this years local elections, wasn’t elected, nevertheless still alive:

A look at Ain, with its interesting historical connection to the Maquis, and current-day nuclear industry:

the media report of Brun’s death says that there were two relatives in that car. This is two years old but i think to remember that they said they were his brothers. Maybe cousins. I cannot remember. However i am sure that this media report had been translated and quoted in english either here on this blog or else on the first al hilli blog on craig murray. I guess to remember that they were his brothers in that report.
With Cathy Ouvrier Buffet I nade an error simply because I my memory betrayed me as she had been the first person interviewed by the media and she was falsely introduced as his wife.
However, his wife worked in that hairdresser salon before she opened her own coiffeur biz and Catherine Ouvrier Buffet is some kind of relative of SM.
Without any doubts av. jules bianco 5 was an address of interest from the very first day of this crime and now – 2 years later – it suddenly pops up once again in relation to route d’annecy 1034 and the “suicide”.
Rubbish Bluebird, you are trying to squirm your way out of an error, made by many – the only reason you are looking at Avenue Jules Bianco is because you and others made a ‘faux pas’ between Frederique and Frederic, and Cathy being the ex, spotted early on as being not true.
There are flats above Cathy and then of course 1034 is another block of flats, yes a great find that a man who lived above Cathy Coiffure has moved, maybe you need to look closer at the dates on your own links, rental is like that.
It was never reported that Frederic Brun was in the car with his brothers, I’ll pinch this link from Deadzone61:
http://www.libramemoria.com/avis/le-dauphine/savoie/2013/09/29/avis-frederic-brun
“However, his wife worked in that hairdresser salon before she opened her own coiffeur biz and Catherine Ouvrier Buffet is some kind of relative of SM.”
Can you please supply the source for this little snippet, it seems to be an assumption rather than a confirmed fact.
And just for fun, I’m going to send you back to your posts:

yes. it was reported that Brun was in the car with two guys who were relatives (brothers?).
And the first french TV team interviewing locals went into 5 av jules bianco.
The latter sentence is correct, they got the wrong hairdresser, Lydie Ringot has never spoken to camera, a written report said that she’d been asked not to say anything by Molliers partner.
Now then, I apologise – I’ve found the Death Notice of FB, he had a brother JORDAN, will look further into this.
Nevertheless, I maintain that Frederique Brun and Frederic Brun are not the same person, so Frederic Brun wasn’t the owner of the Beauty Salon opposite Cathy Coiffeur.
What has happened to Jordan as he is not mentioned on the First Anniversary Rememberance Notice.
Maybe he was in the car, I really need to find the articles from the time, looking again his brother-in-law isn’t mentioned either…
Fingers working quicker than brain, Martial is mentioned.
It seemed curious that the TV reporters went to Cathy Coiffure for that interview, which is not on the main street, nor in the central business district. Was this the only person in town who would talk to them on camera at the time, or was there some reason they picked that shop, and that person to interview?
@BB
Are you find the name of the unnamed ex-legionnaire ?
While reading various obituaries from Ugine, I came across a number of recent deaths of elderly men who had served in the Algerian War. Strangely enough, there’s this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pied-noir
…which leads back to this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milieu_%28organized_crime_in_France%29
Bluebird mentioned the family groups living in close proximity in Ugine. It would make sense that the pieds-noirs would continue living in family groups after repatriation, given the discrimination they face. It also makes sense that many would become self-employed, or work in family-owned businesses, if they can’t get ahead in mainstream corporate France. They might be inclined to seek alternative methods of increasing their income, too.
They had their own song:

This is strange:

I take it this guy was not excited about seeing a “twig” in the brush? Click the link to see what he hunts. He also uses a crossbow.
FWIW, boars are running rampant in Algeria.
http://www.11alive.com/video/3599601236001/1/Algeria-boar-hunters-return-cautiously-after-civil-war-hiatus
It is a fact that boars have been used as weapons:

The irony of it all!
@Pink: It does seem that the evidence is pointing toward a meeting between SM and the a-H family. Could it be that both parties were the intended targets after all? How else to explain the position of the expensive bicycle in relation to the alleged location of SM’s body?
An aside. There is a reawakening of the memories of the war in Algeria:

April 2012 was an important date for the Harkis, with recognition and acknowledgement from President Nicolas Sarkozy:

Here is a list of the opening dates for hunting season in France in 2013-14, by department. Department 74 shows September 8 as the opening day:
http://www.survivefrance.com/profiles/blogs/start-of-the-hunting-season-in-france-listed-by-department-2013-2
The 2012 dates appear to be similar. However, as one comment reveals, people do not always abide by official dates. Although some would phone in a complaint of poaching to the appropriate government office, would anyone approach a group of hunters with a bunch of weapons in an isolated spot like the Combe d’Ire? Who in a rural area would do this? Would anyone think, “Oh, there goes an assassin, or a group of assassins?” Not likely. In hunting season, they wouldn’t give a second thought. However, those who live in the area would know that it’s not wise to go for a walk in the woods at this time of year, especially with small children. Even fluorescent clothing is little protection from being mistaken for a wandering deer.

Yes, there is or was a political party Pied-Noir:

I noticed a resemblance between Patrice Abeille of the Ligue Savoisienne and the gentleman in the video about the Barcarès 6ème Salon du Savoir-Faire Pied Noir 2012, but that is surely imaginary.
The 8ème SALON du Savoir Faire Pied-Noir will be held from September 5 to 7, 2014 in Barcarès.
