The mainstream media for the most part has moved on. But there are a few more gleanings to be had, of perhaps the most interesting comes from the Daily Mirror, which labels al-Hilli an extremist on the grounds that he was against the war in Iraq, disapproved of the behaviour of Israel and had doubts over 9/11 – which makes a great deal of the population “extremist”. But the Mirror has the only mainstream mention I can find of the possibility that Mossad carried out the killings. Given Mr al-Hilli’s profession, the fact he is a Shia, the fact he had visited Iran, and the fact that Israel heas been assassinating scientists connected to Iran’s nuclear programme, this has to be a possibility. There are of course other possibilities, but to ignore that one is ludicrous.
Which leads me to the argument of Daily Mail crime reporter, Stephen Wright, that the French police should concentrate on the idea that this was a killing by a random Alpine madman or racist bigot. Perfectly possible, of course, and the anti-Muslim killings in Marseille might be as much a precedent as Mossad killings of scientists. But why the lone madman idea should be the preferred investigation, Mr Wright does not explain. What I did find interesting from a man who has visited many crime scenes are his repeated insinuations that the French authorities are not really trying very hard to find who the killers were, for example:
the crime scene would have been sealed off for a minimum of seven to ten days, to allow detailed forensic searches for DNA, fibres, tyre marks and shoe prints to take place.
Nearby bushes and vegetation would have been searched for any discarded food and cigarette butts left by the killer, not to mention the murder weapon.
But from what I saw at the end of last week, no such searches had taken place and potentially vital evidence could have been missed. House to house inquiries in the local area had yet to be completed and police had not made specific public appeals for information about the crime. No reward had been put up for information about the shootings.
Behind the scenes, what other short cuts have been taken? Have police seized data identifying all mobile phones being used in the vicinity of the murders that day?
The idea that the French authorities – who are quite as capable as any other of solving cases – are not really trying very hard is an interesting one.
Which leads me to this part of a remarkable article from the Daily Telegraph, which if true points us back towards a hit squad and discounts the ides that there was only one gun:
Claims that only one gun was used to kill everybody is likely to be disproved by full ballistics test results which are out in October.
While the 25 spent bullet cartridges found at the scene are all of the same kind, they could in fact have come from a number of weapons of the same make.
This throws up the possibility of a well-equipped, highly-trained gang circling the car and then opening fire.
Both children were left alive by the killers, who had clinically pumped bullets into everybody else, including five into Mr Mollier.
Zainab was found staggering around outside the car by Brett Martin, a British former RAF serviceman who cycled by moments after the attack, but he saw nobody except the schoolgirl.
Her sister, Zeena, was found unscathed and hiding in the car eight hours later.
Both sisters are now back in Britain, and are believed to have been reunited at a secret location near London.
There are of course a number of hit squad options, both governmental and private, which might well involve iraqi or Iranian interests – on both of which the mainstream media have been very happy to speculate while almost unanimously ignoring Israel.
But what interests me is why the Daily Telegraph choose, in the face of all the evidence, to minimise the horrific nature of the attack by stating that “Both children were left alive by the killers”? Zainab was not left alive by design, she was shot in the chest and her skull was stove in, which presumably was a pretty serious attempt to kill a seven year-old child. The other girl might very well have succeeded in hiding from the killers under her mother’s skirts, as she hid from the first rescuers, and then for eight hours from the police.
The Telegraph article claims to be informed by sources close to the investigation. So they believe it was a group of people, and feel motivated to absolve those people from child-killing. Now what could the Daily Telegraph be thinking?
Not one, but two “Brun” surnames from Ain are found here, in the 2012 Grand Prix d’Annecy:
http://www.directvelo.com/actualite/21784-grand-prix-d-annecy-classement.html#.U54UfbEUqSo
It is a common surname in the world of elite cyclists from Ain, it seems. The race took place on Sunday, September 2, 2012.
This could be the cycling club coach in Ain:

The question has been asked repeatedly here: who would pistol-whip an innocent child?
It’s difficult to comprehend for normal people.
Do not go to this site unless you are prepared to see very disturbing images. Warning: very graphic. It’s so graphic that I did not post the main page:

Hi all.
Haven’t been here for a while so there’s much I have to catch up on. But I note you found a mosque with Turkish connections BB.
That group also has connections to the IHH, it’s the same group who set sail from Turkey in the fated flotilla to break the Gaza blockade.
You will remember they refused the request made by the IDF to turn around, so the ship Mavi Marmara was boarded & nine were killed.
Saad was a Palestinian sympathiser….as was mother in law.

Q.
Yes & remember the racist shooter[ also on a motorbike] who went into a Jewish school & killed.
‘A gunman had pulled up on an expensive motorbike with a big engine, dismounted and pulled out two high-calibre handguns. He fired at “everything in front of him, children and adults,” the state prosecutor said.
He shot dead Jonathan Sandler, a 30-year-old French-Israeli rabbi who had recently joined the staff to teach Yiddish, and Sandler’s two sons, aged six and three. Then he stepped over the bodies and chased children into the school courtyard where witnesses said he pursued a child, the eight-year-old daughter of the principal, grabbed her by the hair, pulled her to him and shot her at close range.’

Good
Others will have noticed this case that the government wanted to be in total secrecy. I don’t suppose there could be any connections with chevaline by any chance?
MORE INFORMATION including a photograph of one of the men via the Daily Mail is provided below. The question remains, given what appears on the face of it merely an interest in bomb-making, even if true, goes no way to explain the intended draconian secrecy, that would have not only prevented public knowledge of the alleged offences but ANY aspect of the trial altogether! Either the alleged offences are being over-hyped – after all not even a weapon or related piece of equipment is claimed; or vital sensitive aspects are being with-held; or this was a government exercise to “test the waters” so to speak, to judicial secrecy applied to criminal cases. ALL these possibilities have very sinister and threatening overtones to the sort of political society we inhabit, that the disgracefully complacent assurances of our legally unqualified “Lord Chancellor”, do nothing to assuage. Turkey, Algeria and mobile phones may provide clues as to some of the ramifications.

“The two defendants can now be named as Erol Incedal, a British national of Turkish origin, and Mounir Rarmoul-Bouhadjar, a British national of Algerian origin.
The pair, both 26, were arrested by Metropolitan Police firearms officers in October. They are due to go on trial as soon as next week accused of serious terrorist offences.
Incedal, who has links to London and was born overseas, is accused of ‘engaging in conduct in preparation for terrorist acts’, which carries a potential life sentence.
He and Rarmoul-Bouhadjar, of London, are accused of possessing terrorist documents, including a file named ‘bomb making’ hidden on their mobile phones.
Rarmoul-Bouhadjar, who has described himself as a ‘fun-loving’ person online, faces a fourth charge under immigration laws of improperly obtaining a British passport.
The former ‘team leader’ for a charity housing association worked with vulnerable adults after graduating with a second-class degree in economics, and is listed as a joint director of a firm which appears to sell mobile phone software.”

@Tim V: Mobile phone software — maybe Android operating systems, like the ones that control microsatellites? Or maybe the ones that can be used as remote triggers?
Meanwhile, I continue to wonder why Saad al-Hilli chose to purchase a property in the Dordogne, of all places. Surely the pied-noir connection to the Dordogne is purely coincidental.

Should Saad al-Hilli’s visits to France before and after the elections be viewed from the lens of politics?
Bacchus
all we have about this guy who did commit “suicide” is a guess. There are no funeral messages yet whatsoever in the Ugine dept.
So they are very keen keeping that secret.
My best guess is Laurent Frery from 1034, route d’annecy
Why?
1) he looks like the efit robot
2) he has an accidental connection with the address “5 avenue jules bianco” were he had his biz registered until late 2011
3) His biz is into diffusion pneus and we know from first media reports that Saad had a problem with diffusion pneus.
4) His family on facebook is connected with the Mollier family, one young guy of his family is still connected with Mathis Mollier on facebook.
5) He is very much into rugby. His uncle Rene Frery is some kind of rugby official in that area (just like it was SM’s father)
6) His sister Catherine is working for a social project and particularly searching for and posting about sexually abused children in that area in facebook (like it did abducted Steve Maillaud)
Perhaps just coincidence?
http://m.hoovers.com/company-information/cs/company-profile.FRERY_PASCAL_OLIVIER.a846b995194b7bc3.html
Pascal Frery (dont know about how he is related with Laurent) has his business registration in 5 avenue jules bianco, too. He is into “amusement parks”.
This is strange or a joke:

quote:
FRERY PASCAL OLIVIER in Ugine, 5 Avenue Jules Bianco, is a company that specializes in Offices Of Bank Holding Companies. Our records show it was established in France.
Bluebird, do you know if SAH had a holding company in France? Did he make some sort of investment that could time him in with the locals of Ugine? Politics and money make strange bedfellows.
A trivial aside:
The pied-noir critic Paul Achard reviewed entertainer(and later resistance spy/French Free Air Force member) Josephine Baker. In her later years, Baker settled in the Dordogne at Les Milandes to raise her rainbow family.

Q
16 Jun, 2014 – 4:34 pm just one brief point that is not conclusive but it is supportive: Saad had TWO mobile phones in the car apparently. This is standard agent protocol. Phones and no passports ANYWHERE. Suggests just his and wife’s were handed over willingly before shooting began, if the remainder were in floor well and doors locked. To SM to confirm he was dealing with the right people or to third party/killers? In any event with them missing it is reasonable to assume they had them and that they were taken either by killers, witnesses or police. If the latter two it must involve lies so I’m guessing first most likely who might of course fall into the other categories, we don’t know.
Also I see EM is repeating that ZaH is still a suspect despite him being “cleared” by British police. One quote struck me: ““There is not a single clue helping us understand this crime.”
Not even ONE????? Now that is a step of faith too far.

Judging by the number of swimming pools in Saint Macaire, there is some prosperity in the town.
There is a nasty bit of history in the Dordogne, involving “the village of cannibals”:

Is anybody able to understand the french commentary (Bacchus?). Do we know/find the name of this guy? Wasnt he handling and threatening himself with several guns in that video report?
Bacchus,
I know thelat LF is 42. However, we received so many misleading information from EM so far that i dont give a penny on that information (age) given to the media. They want to cover his name and then they wouldnt tell his correct age, would they?
As a matter of fact the media said that he was befriended with SM’s family and facebook confirms that LF and family is definitely befriended with SM’s family. One young guy from LF’s family (he is on LF’s fb page) is even befriended with Mathis Mollier on fb.
here’s a bit more info on that guy running up and down with a gun and threatening to kill himself in Ugine july 2012:
http://www.mannecy.fr/27084-menace-de-suicide-en-pleine-rue-a-ugine.html
@Bluebird: That’s the guy I posted about a while back. In the video I posted, they said it was a relationship gone wrong, and that the man had mental problems with depression. They gave his age as in his 30s. I also noted that in the video I posted, the printing of the name of the wine shop in the background was reversed part way through the video. Odd, that. Nothing in Ugine is ever as it appears in real life. There was a truck camper parked near the scene, which made me think it could have belonged to the man who was the centre of attention. It was not exactly prime tourist season. Maybe he lived in that camper year-round? There was also some mention about a farm? Many people in the area hunt. I did not get a good look at his weapon.
That is what I recall. You may want to go back a page or two and check it out.
