Not Forgetting the al-Hillis 22278

The mainstream media for the most part has moved on. But there are a few more gleanings to be had, of perhaps the most interesting comes from the Daily Mirror, which labels al-Hilli an extremist on the grounds that he was against the war in Iraq, disapproved of the behaviour of Israel and had doubts over 9/11 – which makes a great deal of the population “extremist”. But the Mirror has the only mainstream mention I can find of the possibility that Mossad carried out the killings. Given Mr al-Hilli’s profession, the fact he is a Shia, the fact he had visited Iran, and the fact that Israel heas been assassinating scientists connected to Iran’s nuclear programme, this has to be a possibility. There are of course other possibilities, but to ignore that one is ludicrous.

Which leads me to the argument of Daily Mail crime reporter, Stephen Wright, that the French police should concentrate on the idea that this was a killing by a random Alpine madman or racist bigot. Perfectly possible, of course, and the anti-Muslim killings in Marseille might be as much a precedent as Mossad killings of scientists. But why the lone madman idea should be the preferred investigation, Mr Wright does not explain. What I did find interesting from a man who has visited many crime scenes are his repeated insinuations that the French authorities are not really trying very hard to find who the killers were, for example:

the crime scene would have been sealed off for a minimum of seven to ten days, to allow detailed forensic searches for DNA, fibres, tyre marks and shoe prints to take place.
Nearby bushes and vegetation would have been searched for any discarded food and cigarette butts left by the killer, not to mention the murder weapon.
But from what I saw at the end of last week, no such searches had taken place and potentially vital evidence could have been missed. House to house inquiries in the local area had yet to be completed and police had not made specific public appeals for information about the crime. No reward had been put up for information about the shootings.
Behind the scenes, what other short cuts have been taken? Have police seized data identifying all mobile phones being used in the vicinity of the murders that day?

The idea that the French authorities – who are quite as capable as any other of solving cases – are not really trying very hard is an interesting one.

Which leads me to this part of a remarkable article from the Daily Telegraph, which if true points us back towards a hit squad and discounts the ides that there was only one gun:

Claims that only one gun was used to kill everybody is likely to be disproved by full ballistics test results which are out in October.
While the 25 spent bullet cartridges found at the scene are all of the same kind, they could in fact have come from a number of weapons of the same make.
This throws up the possibility of a well-equipped, highly-trained gang circling the car and then opening fire.
Both children were left alive by the killers, who had clinically pumped bullets into everybody else, including five into Mr Mollier.
Zainab was found staggering around outside the car by Brett Martin, a British former RAF serviceman who cycled by moments after the attack, but he saw nobody except the schoolgirl.
Her sister, Zeena, was found unscathed and hiding in the car eight hours later.
Both sisters are now back in Britain, and are believed to have been reunited at a secret location near London.

There are of course a number of hit squad options, both governmental and private, which might well involve iraqi or Iranian interests – on both of which the mainstream media have been very happy to speculate while almost unanimously ignoring Israel.

But what interests me is why the Daily Telegraph choose, in the face of all the evidence, to minimise the horrific nature of the attack by stating that “Both children were left alive by the killers”? Zainab was not left alive by design, she was shot in the chest and her skull was stove in, which presumably was a pretty serious attempt to kill a seven year-old child. The other girl might very well have succeeded in hiding from the killers under her mother’s skirts, as she hid from the first rescuers, and then for eight hours from the police.

The Telegraph article claims to be informed by sources close to the investigation. So they believe it was a group of people, and feel motivated to absolve those people from child-killing. Now what could the Daily Telegraph be thinking?

I think you’re spot on there. There are pressures building me thinks.

Due to leaks/other unconfirmed information, here’s a quick “run through” of the traffic on the Combe D’Ire. (Not sure if this is true or not).

ONF1 sees the MC and BMW 4×4 and then departs the Combe D’Ire.

WBM sees SM ahead of him prior to entering the climb. Later he’s passed by SAH.

ONF2 sees MC and en route sees SM. He exits the route “somewhere” before the end.

ONF3 enters the route “somewhere”. He passes WBM.
And it’s unknown if he sees anyone else….or from whence he came !

Two years on….and Eric’s keeping schtum. So much for public appeals then !!!!

I’ve been watching various stories unfold in the media over the years. One thing I’ve come to realize is that sometimes investigators put false information out via the media. We can speculate that they do this for different reasons. Sometimes it’s meant to conceal their real line of investigation. At others, it’s done to put pressure on a POI or suspect. What they say and the reality of an investigation can be entirely different.

Whatever Eric and his team have up their sleeves, we don’t know, but let’s hope it’s something. The alternative is to believe that they’re completely befuddled.

Positive speculation at this point: they’re deep in, and hoping someone will let their guard down. Negative speculation: the investigation has been stifled higher up the line, due to parties involved in intelligence, military, politics, organized crime or other.

  • Q

No pressure, Eric, but we’re all watching and waiting, and continuing to discuss the possibilities.

It seems like the people of Ugine, Albertville and the Haute Savoie have their own ideas circulating about who did what and why at Chevaline. Those mountain people sure know how to keep it in the family. How else to explain “Molliex”.

Let me stroll down memory lane for a moment, to a place far, far, away. There was a brutal sex slaying in a person’s home. Rumors started in town that a police officer was responsible. The local police force was already under fire for abuse of prisoners and other questionable behavior. Before long, the townsfolk rose up and the local police force was fired. An outside police force took over not just the investigation, but all policing. The murder has not been solved.

Now another story, far away. Rumors spread in a town about a pedophile network, involving police officers, clergy, prominent business figures, lawyers and judges. It got so bad that an inquiry was held. The inquiry didn’t accomplish much, but in subsequent years, some of the individuals who had been singled out committed suicide. Many relocated. Others turned up in the news on child sex abuse charges (and eventual convictions) in the places where they had moved. One reporter was so disturbed by it all while covering the inquiry, that she continues to blog about the subsequent clergy charges, arrests and convictions, as well as stories about the victims. She has not let up, even though she has retired.

There is an awful lot of murder and mayhem in the Haute Savoie lately. MSM has not told us the local version of events. Are the mountain people quaking in their boots, or do they know they will be fine, as long as they stay out of it? Are they all too cowardly to come forward?

  • Q

On another note, it has occurred to me that surnames are quite necessary. Who’s who in the Ugine zoo? Conjointes of all parties concerned have different surnames, and that might answer some important questions about keeping it in the family in the Haute Savoie. Any conflicts of interest?

How about it, Savoyards? Name names.

  • Q

Yes, James, I have not found any Sylviane listed at the address know for X. Sylvain Mollier’s siblings all had “conjoints”, but X might have been neither coinjoint nor mari.

  • Q

Conjoint means different things in different places. It means non-married, live-in partner in my terms of reference. Also in my terms of reference, a law applies so that women who marry must keep their maiden name. Whether a coinjointe or a marie, she would not have the surname of her partner. France, I don’t know.

Whether Sylviane was married to X or not, I don’t know. He may have been neither a coinjoint nor a mari, nor an epouX. If he had an epouse, who is she?

    What are the names?

  • James

    Dutruel ? Maybe ?

Then again it could be anything. Or unmarried.
But the wording used was “affair” ! So I guess married.

They seem to marry young, separate and remarried the die old the French.
    That or get shot !

  • Q

The funeral for PB was held on the day Suzanne Mollier’s obituary was published. Note the eX.

Whatever turns out to be the case, it would take some time for an autopsy and investigation after a suicide before the remains could be released.

Bluebird might be able to elucidate. Where is Bluebird?

Why would one child in a French family be given an English first name, and the others not? And then to give one’s child an English first name, too. And Lulu?

I don’t know if I am right ! I am just saying is it him ?

    As for “lulu”.
In .Mil and such occupations “nicknames” are common place.
I fly with a “booboo” a “jet” and a “Thor”….non of which are their names.
They said “and you”…. I say “James…my mum liked the name”

They are all “ex mil” and I am “ex pissing about in Africa”. Same, same !

  • Q

How odd that “Lulu” would lead us back to those polenta-cooking ART members from Ugine. I have looked at those photos before. I’m pretty sure I posted a link. Now I keep seeing it differently, looking for photo-fit man, and of course when you look, you see. (Another reason the police don’t release composite sketches sometimes is because they tend to look like everyone and no one. But a “photo” is not a “sketch”; remembering that sometimes even sketches are drawn from photos the police have of real people they suspect).

How odd that “Lulu” has a Sylviane.

Did the French Police ever get anyone for stabbing Christian Marechal the police chief of Chambourcy 16 times
    and killing him in 2007

  • Q

Misfortune certainly does follow certain individuals around, doesn’t it, Ricki? I’d say Chambourcy’s (UMP deputy mayor at the time of the Christian Marechal murder) Pierre Morange is one of those individuals. How many more tragic unsolved murders — two so far — will have his name attached, however remotely?

    All in the family?

“But earlier, we were treated to a strange or indecent sideshow of the security officer of Areva, a former career soldier, former Legionnaire who served in Somalia, the Rwnada, Kosovo, etc. .. . which it comes) wondered whether read, if he was the man for the job, or if Areva ignored his warnings. Still, it served to anyone who would listen, a strange speech explaining that this is an exploratory mission mission was targeted, but that had changed the dates of its “journey”, forcing the men of the AQIM Canger their plans and come to “serve” hostage operation carried out thanks to a “traitor” within Areva !!!

“That is after the mole of “Blue”, the “mole” in the case Woerth / Bettencourt, the Areva! The affimation would be funny if the situation had not turned tragic.

“After his mission to Rwanda, Colonel of the 2nd REP, lambasted the attitude of General Romeo Dallaire, who would be able to prevent the genocide.

5 Sep, 2014 – 3:39 pm. Yea I noticed that one Q. Strange one isn’t it? It was written by SOMEone. Does it sound right for (christian/english culture) neighbour? RIP much more likely or just something to do with being remembered or missed. But it doesn’t sound right for a Muslim either. It reminds me of the Brun/Mollier obituary entry. i’e’ intentionally cryptic. a sort of in-joke for a select group in the know?

  • Tim Veater

good that the thread has burst into life again (to be expected perhaps given the 2nd anniversary) I could only see the mail ran with the story of “perfect crime” and “unlikely ever to solved” bunkum of course but obviously the agreed line now that time has passed and they want everything scaled back and forgotten. Nothing if not predictable. The other aspect of course is the pure co-incidence of plenty of other storied to fill the pages. In UK the NATO summit just happens to cover the date neatly either side but we also get two high profile murders in New Forest and North London involving knives and beheadings which replicate 1, 2, 3 or 4 by ISIS. Foley probably CIA – he was also in Benghazi when US ambassador was killed (derivation a Hollywood set-up and even a bladder catheter – you must be taking the piss) and Sotloff an alleged Mossad trained Jew, kept out of the news reports of course
Anyway both videos are clearly hoax whether the two mentioned were murdered or not. It replicates MH17 shot down by the west not Russia. On the back of all these lies America has started bombing again and Britain is to follow suit. The deceit and intrigue is mind boggling. We don’t have to be conspiracy theorists, they do it for us. Then in France (how they love a scandal?) the date of mrs triwierer’s (sorry i cant be bothered to look her up) publishes her Hollande kiss and tell revelations to coincide. (“A good day to bury bad news” and all that jazz) The man in Edmonton who apparently beheaded the nice old lady was apparently wandering around screaming cats. The amazing thing was he didsn’t get shot unlike the man in Islington. Call it the luck of the (fastest) draw perhaps? Anyway the Al Hillis are properly dead and buried now. …..Or are they ….?
“We hope you are happy where you are.”

  • Q

    Hello, Tim.

    A fairy tale:

Let’s assume the murder seven years ago is connected to the Chevaline affair. Let’s go further and assume the killer is one and the same. Sure, the MO of one seems very professional and the other very sloppy. Seven years is a long time, and people come unglued when relationships fall apart and other events in life wear them down. Substance abuse sometimes adds to the problem.

What was it about that bizarre note involving Al-Qaeda? A cryptic clue? Someone who left a signature so that others would not pursue this too far, if they knew what was good for them?

Was that person hired for the job, or involved with one of the mistresses? If he was a conjoint or ami, he was no ordinary one. There is no sign of this being a crime of passion. It seems well-planned. Seven years pass without an arrest, despite DNA left at the scene.

Let’s look at Niger. We know that the French government’s interests cannot be sorted out from AREVA’s interests there. The regular army defends French interests, and it is without a doubt that the French Foreign Legion is there, too. Why else would AREVA hire an ex-Legionnaire colonel from 2e REP to head their security? This position needed someone very familiar with the particulars of the situation.

Now, if AREVA hires ex-Legionnaires for its interests abroad, isn’t it logical that they would also hire ex-Legionnaires at home?

Continuing on, we know that ex-Legionnaires continue to get offers of work long after they leave. Some prefer the quiet life. Others get bored. Some combine the two.

So here we have an ex-Legionnaire working in Ugine. Did he work for AREVA? We do not know. He becomes involved with a local woman, and meets her brother. (Maybe he met the brother first at work, and then met his sister.) The brother is involved with a woman who has connections indirectly to someone very important…

Moving ahead, there’s outside pressure building, and the parties are nervous. The brother puts two and two together. The brother meets a bizarre fate while out for a ride, on a route suggested by someone he knows, someone who, it is said, does not like him. Perhaps he had concrete proof of something, a memory stick? Perhaps he wanted to profit from this knowledge. Perhaps he wanted to convey the information to someone on the outside.

Loyalty would be rewarded. Keep those in the know close. Make them feel safe, for now. For those who cannot be trusted to remain silent, well, that’s another fairy tale. It’s all imaginary.

Woah! I’m really diggikng thee template/theme of thnis website.

It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very difficult to get
that “perfect balance” between superb usability and appearance.
I must sayy that you’ve done a great job with this.

Additionally, the blog loads extremely quick for me on Firefox.
    Exceptional Blog!

    Q 06/09/2014 11.17pm

Re: the uncle of Claire Schutz,
the G.P. / Maire of Chambourcy and senor politician of Nicolas Sarkozy party,
Pierre Morange of the Morange-Schutz Pharmacie, Grignon,
had some difficulty with explaining the non-jobs that his wife was paid for by the French State.
This little story came out just prior to Pierre’s mate Christian Marechal the police chief of Chambourcy was found stabbed and dead in his own gaff.
SEven years later Mrs.Marechal is still afraid his killers will never be known.
After this incident Pierre Morange has been running around packing a piece.
    Mrs.Morange is now the ex-Mrs.Morange.

I wouldn’t mind betting that Pierre Morange put Sylvain Molliex up to live with and protect his niece in Grignon, knowing as how Sylvain was a bit more than just a nuclear welder working for Areva.

    Questions I come back to?

Where was Saad for long periods in the trip when not spending it with his Family?
What was he struggling with? mentioned by his Neighbour?
Why trips to Dubai and Iran?
When attacked by the owners of the property in Iraq he had some old friends sort this out? Who? Favour for a ….??
What was actually working on at SSTL?
    Why move Caravan sites?
    Who was Mollier?
    Who was WBM?
Why flit from business to business, industry to industry when he was such an intelligent man?
    What was his true career?

Answers to the above questions are key and would present a clearer picture, unfortunately they have been fogged by reporting. It would only take one little peak into any of the reports written by of the various intelligence services to answer them, with the help of phone and computer records and other sources available to these agencies it would be easy to put the picture together. At my reconing the list of these agencies interested in this case would be long with Britain, Iran, Iraq, Sweden, Saudi, Sweden, USA, Italy, Switzerland, France and some Baltic States involved.

The sheer fact that questions like this are not or have not been answered in this case points to a D notice or matters of National Security.

As Time goes by we can only watch companies like Areva’s next steps as this will tell a tale of who benefits and who is in bed with each other (right now this seems to be more like one night stands), write down who the US have sought help from in the last twenty years, obviously the British and Israelis are a constraint allie for the US but it seems as though we are satellites hovering over an ever changing list of buddies!
I think the Drone news the other day reported at MT’s blog is a direct result of this, everyone’s posts are still very important to help and share the investigation of open intelligence sources such as the web, media and other to sift through the chaff and make what conclusions we can until we have a clearer picture.

Because we miss things I think we should compile a watch list, including weekly searches and then share the information available on this site.
