The mainstream media for the most part has moved on. But there are a few more gleanings to be had, of perhaps the most interesting comes from the Daily Mirror, which labels al-Hilli an extremist on the grounds that he was against the war in Iraq, disapproved of the behaviour of Israel and had doubts over 9/11 – which makes a great deal of the population “extremist”. But the Mirror has the only mainstream mention I can find of the possibility that Mossad carried out the killings. Given Mr al-Hilli’s profession, the fact he is a Shia, the fact he had visited Iran, and the fact that Israel heas been assassinating scientists connected to Iran’s nuclear programme, this has to be a possibility. There are of course other possibilities, but to ignore that one is ludicrous.
Which leads me to the argument of Daily Mail crime reporter, Stephen Wright, that the French police should concentrate on the idea that this was a killing by a random Alpine madman or racist bigot. Perfectly possible, of course, and the anti-Muslim killings in Marseille might be as much a precedent as Mossad killings of scientists. But why the lone madman idea should be the preferred investigation, Mr Wright does not explain. What I did find interesting from a man who has visited many crime scenes are his repeated insinuations that the French authorities are not really trying very hard to find who the killers were, for example:
the crime scene would have been sealed off for a minimum of seven to ten days, to allow detailed forensic searches for DNA, fibres, tyre marks and shoe prints to take place.
Nearby bushes and vegetation would have been searched for any discarded food and cigarette butts left by the killer, not to mention the murder weapon.
But from what I saw at the end of last week, no such searches had taken place and potentially vital evidence could have been missed. House to house inquiries in the local area had yet to be completed and police had not made specific public appeals for information about the crime. No reward had been put up for information about the shootings.
Behind the scenes, what other short cuts have been taken? Have police seized data identifying all mobile phones being used in the vicinity of the murders that day?
The idea that the French authorities – who are quite as capable as any other of solving cases – are not really trying very hard is an interesting one.
Which leads me to this part of a remarkable article from the Daily Telegraph, which if true points us back towards a hit squad and discounts the ides that there was only one gun:
Claims that only one gun was used to kill everybody is likely to be disproved by full ballistics test results which are out in October.
While the 25 spent bullet cartridges found at the scene are all of the same kind, they could in fact have come from a number of weapons of the same make.
This throws up the possibility of a well-equipped, highly-trained gang circling the car and then opening fire.
Both children were left alive by the killers, who had clinically pumped bullets into everybody else, including five into Mr Mollier.
Zainab was found staggering around outside the car by Brett Martin, a British former RAF serviceman who cycled by moments after the attack, but he saw nobody except the schoolgirl.
Her sister, Zeena, was found unscathed and hiding in the car eight hours later.
Both sisters are now back in Britain, and are believed to have been reunited at a secret location near London.
There are of course a number of hit squad options, both governmental and private, which might well involve iraqi or Iranian interests – on both of which the mainstream media have been very happy to speculate while almost unanimously ignoring Israel.
But what interests me is why the Daily Telegraph choose, in the face of all the evidence, to minimise the horrific nature of the attack by stating that “Both children were left alive by the killers”? Zainab was not left alive by design, she was shot in the chest and her skull was stove in, which presumably was a pretty serious attempt to kill a seven year-old child. The other girl might very well have succeeded in hiding from the killers under her mother’s skirts, as she hid from the first rescuers, and then for eight hours from the police.
The Telegraph article claims to be informed by sources close to the investigation. So they believe it was a group of people, and feel motivated to absolve those people from child-killing. Now what could the Daily Telegraph be thinking?

How many of these mysterious unsolved murders has Eric Maillaud actually solved?
If he has not solved any,
would it not be the right time to elbow him off out of it

Back in 2012, the Swedish police were compiling a list of Roma names. Not only were the names on a list, they were grouped into family trees.

It’s hard to say if anyone would consider fleeing the country, based on their name being included on this list.
Back in 1961, the mayor of Evian was murdered by a bomb.

that is an astonishing story about the mayor of Evian,
stunning, I certainly had not heard of it.
Evian is only a few miles from this latest murder.
The mayors of France do seem targets of violence.
This is something I put up in early July

“The court report regarding that local “vendetta” in Doussard that I had posted several months ago (Steve Havutcu) actually happened in a pizzeria in Faverges.
Faverges is the village on the opposite side of Doussard on the road across Col d’Ire.”
So Jean-Paul Deronzier was not only the maire of Doussard, he was also the president of Faverges as well as the chief majistrate.
In 2009 the 150 caravans descend on Faverges, the locals are angry, they have a demonstration and video it, several local maires speak,
including the president of Faverges, Jean-Paul Deronzier.
Shortly afterwards, Jean-Paul Deronzier plunges to his doom on Col d’Ire.
A serious set of incidents occurs in Faverges,
resulting in a couple being hospitalised and Steven Havutcu being imprisioned.
Very close in time to this, the two Deronzier sons marry the two Communal-Tournier daughters.
September 2012 the Chevaline massacre occurs
on Route Forestière Domaniale de la Combe d’Ire,
Willian Brett Martin is said to have been first on the scene, post incident.
WBM is a close neighbour of the family Deronzier and the family Communal-Tournier.
An efit is released, one week later five men ( some may have been Gypsies) break in the home of the family Communal-Tornier, shooting Nicole dead but they also went equipped with tape and collars, this is not a normal break-in, this smacks of a Blood Feud as hinted at by Eric M.
It has since been reported that all five of Nicole Communal-Tournier’s murderers
were gypsies.
This is another case being run by Eric Maillaud
Jean-Paul Deronzier look very fit to me, definately has the physique of a serious cyclist,
certainly NOT the sort of man who would fall off his local cliff.

A bit of an update on this mornings murder
“A 47 year old man was killed yesterday morning at 6:00 with a bullet in his temple driving his company car. This is a driver who made the gruesome discovery while himself driving to work. The incident occurred on the senior common Neuvecelle in an isolated place, but nevertheless on a busy road. The driver’s door open, the unfortunate was discovered, the upper body lying on the floor. Has he felt threatened and he tried to escape? Had an appointment with someone else? Assumptions among others, which are reviewed by the judicial police in Annecy entrusted the investigation. The victim, Jean-François Hauteville, is a businessman living in Lugrin, also president of the local association of Hunting. “A highly respected person” commented briefly this morning Mayor Jacky Burnet who learned the sad news was said to be “come out of nowhere.”
One individual was taken into custody yesterday to 17 hours. He would have had “a severe conflict with the victim as part of the hunt,” the prosecutor Eric Maillaud. “But it can not be qualified as is suspicious.”
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2786898/Gun-enthusiast-arrested-French-builder-shot-dead-car-engine-running-just-50-miles-British-family-massacred.html
A hunter was arrested today after a French building contractor was found dead with a bullet in his head on an isolated country road in the French Alps.
The horrific murder took place just 50 miles from where three members of a British family died in eerily similar circumstances two years ago.
Jean-Francois Hauteville, 47, suffered close-range bullet wounds to the head as he sat in his Peugeot Boxer van in a wooded area near Neuvecelle, close to Lake Geneva in eastern France.

9 Oct, 2014 – 10:40 am President of local hunting association also. Relevant or not given SM’s interests. Hunter or not? Maybe the young photo leaked is someone else or hunter photo our man?
“Jean-François Hauteville, born in October 1967, is an entrepreneur installed a long time in the region. His company based in Lugrin, 10 minutes by car from the scene of the tragedy, specialized in the works for individuals. The craftsman was also known for being an amateur fighter. He was president of the local association of Lugrin. These activities have to do with the murder? The investigation will tell.”
Hope springs eternal.

Driver acquitted
As for the plane, piloted by an ace, Captain Bernard ZIEGLER, he was already long since returned to its base of Luxeuil in the Vosges. By cutting the cable, he had lost his tank release. The aircraft was then appealed to the investigation had just begun. A year later, in Dijon, the Military Court of the military region exonerate the driver. ”

I was doing some research into WWII internment camps in France. There was a children’s home in Faverges, where Jewish children stayed. Still thinking of those old weapons stored in caves and attics around the Haute-Savoie.
The boxer van was left with the engine running after the 47 year old victim was shot in the head at close range.
I wonder if the same gun was used as was used to kill Sylvain Mollier?
There must be something we are missing
because the vast majority of the victims are in a tightly confined aged range,
mid-forties to mid-fifties,
I can’t think what that tells us,
only that most of the murders are not isolated from each other
Hauteville was lured to the place where he was shot with a telephone call
http://www.francebleu.fr/infos/infos/meurtre-de-neuvecelle-un-homme-place-en-garde-vue-et-la-these-de-l’acte-premedite-confirmee-1840268
It appears that he was shot twice with a shotgun. For reasons best known to themselves, the French generally take the term “fusil de chasse” to refer to a shotgun
http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fusil_de_chasse
In conclusion, it was a premeditated murder and the killer really meant business, probably firing both barrels of a double-barrelled shotgun before fleeing.
I hope the killer /killers left some clues?
A dispute relating to hunting he motivated the murder of Jean-François Hauteville, shot him in the head while he was driving his utility on Wednesday morning in upper Neuvecelle?
Man taken into custody the same day of the incident, was in conflict on this issue with the victim who chairs the hunting society Lugrin. “That does not a suspect, provided” warns the public prosecutor, Eric Maillaud. And explain that if all other avenues remain open (personal, business, and recreation areas), it channels attention, custody is limited.
At 17 hours tonight, it will be lifted if no objective evidence to proceed. The two men knew each other for many years and maintained friendly relations fluctuating. “For some time, the victim did not want to hear about this man and regularly rejected his applications for hunting licenses. ”
On the sidelines of the hearings held in custody, a search was conducted at his home which is located near the scene of the murder. “A significant number of weapons were found. “Seven or eight, further clarify the magistrate, whose guns, but also” tinkered weapons that have not been reporting “and therefore would be held illegally. They are the subject of analysis.
As to the circumstances of the death of Jean-François Hauteville, they are fully clarified. Two shots have been fired; both reached the victim while he was driving his van. The first shot, shoulder, chest and neck, “like a shot pattern.” The second, fatal, head, was fired shortest distance suggesting that the author has advanced. The attempted escape of the victim is proven. Perceiving that the appointment was an ambush, even recognizing her attacker, Jean-François Hauteville engaged reverse gear can not move forward. Been unsuccessful attempt.

So the engine was still going
and the victim had put his vehicle in reverse,
before he was shot in the head, more than once,
now I’ve heard that before.
@Peter: Oh, he was not shot with a telephone call. 🙂
Any ex-Legionnaires or former military in this hunt club?
Some reports say he was shot with a shotgun in cheat first, then the killer moved in and popped in the head with a bullet, so unless it was a shotgun with a riffle barrel ( one weapon)
the killer or killers had more than one weapon.
Or Eric Maillaud again does not know what weapons or how many shots?
