The mainstream media for the most part has moved on. But there are a few more gleanings to be had, of perhaps the most interesting comes from the Daily Mirror, which labels al-Hilli an extremist on the grounds that he was against the war in Iraq, disapproved of the behaviour of Israel and had doubts over 9/11 – which makes a great deal of the population “extremist”. But the Mirror has the only mainstream mention I can find of the possibility that Mossad carried out the killings. Given Mr al-Hilli’s profession, the fact he is a Shia, the fact he had visited Iran, and the fact that Israel heas been assassinating scientists connected to Iran’s nuclear programme, this has to be a possibility. There are of course other possibilities, but to ignore that one is ludicrous.
Which leads me to the argument of Daily Mail crime reporter, Stephen Wright, that the French police should concentrate on the idea that this was a killing by a random Alpine madman or racist bigot. Perfectly possible, of course, and the anti-Muslim killings in Marseille might be as much a precedent as Mossad killings of scientists. But why the lone madman idea should be the preferred investigation, Mr Wright does not explain. What I did find interesting from a man who has visited many crime scenes are his repeated insinuations that the French authorities are not really trying very hard to find who the killers were, for example:
the crime scene would have been sealed off for a minimum of seven to ten days, to allow detailed forensic searches for DNA, fibres, tyre marks and shoe prints to take place.
Nearby bushes and vegetation would have been searched for any discarded food and cigarette butts left by the killer, not to mention the murder weapon.
But from what I saw at the end of last week, no such searches had taken place and potentially vital evidence could have been missed. House to house inquiries in the local area had yet to be completed and police had not made specific public appeals for information about the crime. No reward had been put up for information about the shootings.
Behind the scenes, what other short cuts have been taken? Have police seized data identifying all mobile phones being used in the vicinity of the murders that day?
The idea that the French authorities – who are quite as capable as any other of solving cases – are not really trying very hard is an interesting one.
Which leads me to this part of a remarkable article from the Daily Telegraph, which if true points us back towards a hit squad and discounts the ides that there was only one gun:
Claims that only one gun was used to kill everybody is likely to be disproved by full ballistics test results which are out in October.
While the 25 spent bullet cartridges found at the scene are all of the same kind, they could in fact have come from a number of weapons of the same make.
This throws up the possibility of a well-equipped, highly-trained gang circling the car and then opening fire.
Both children were left alive by the killers, who had clinically pumped bullets into everybody else, including five into Mr Mollier.
Zainab was found staggering around outside the car by Brett Martin, a British former RAF serviceman who cycled by moments after the attack, but he saw nobody except the schoolgirl.
Her sister, Zeena, was found unscathed and hiding in the car eight hours later.
Both sisters are now back in Britain, and are believed to have been reunited at a secret location near London.
There are of course a number of hit squad options, both governmental and private, which might well involve iraqi or Iranian interests – on both of which the mainstream media have been very happy to speculate while almost unanimously ignoring Israel.
But what interests me is why the Daily Telegraph choose, in the face of all the evidence, to minimise the horrific nature of the attack by stating that “Both children were left alive by the killers”? Zainab was not left alive by design, she was shot in the chest and her skull was stove in, which presumably was a pretty serious attempt to kill a seven year-old child. The other girl might very well have succeeded in hiding from the killers under her mother’s skirts, as she hid from the first rescuers, and then for eight hours from the police.
The Telegraph article claims to be informed by sources close to the investigation. So they believe it was a group of people, and feel motivated to absolve those people from child-killing. Now what could the Daily Telegraph be thinking?
BM is a fraud, we need facial recognition systems to be able to pick what farce he has appeared in before! now hes disappeared…like Keyser Soze.
@Ferret – I thought it was a great documentary to be honest and shows you what will be done by the authorities even if it involces inncoent families!
Hey if you want to watch a nother great BBC doc – check this out:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fB6nViwJcM (all 3 parts).
Ive suspected Gladio as a explanation to the old weapons used in the Al-Hilli Incident.
Interesting…
And yes, quite shocking that HMG would deliberately place 400 odd passengers and crew in harms way just to insert 8 MI6 field operatives… and lie to everyone in the process.
Maggie lied to Parliament over it, John Major continued the lie about it, and BA lied about it. Now the government just say “no comment”.
And the BBC News lied about it from the get-go, which is very interesting to note, particularly in our case and other suspicious cases.
The official lie, for anyone who’s not going to watch the film, is that the BA jumbo jet landed *before* the invasion of Kuwait had begun, whereas in fact it landed quite some hours *afterwards*, when Iraqi troops were already in the streets of Kuwait City.
It would have been easy to warn the plane and divert it to a neighbouring state but they didn’t.
And as I say, the BBC News repeated the official lie from the very beginning, the very first report.
And this is evidenced by the fact that Maggie’s official memoirs state that she learned of the invasion at 3am, and the plane landed after 4am. But Maggie’s statement to parliament was that the plane landed before the invasion.
CD ,
BM was there in an official capacity , it was probably him who actually arranged the details , timings etc, once the meet was agreed, however, as murder was not originally on the menu, his shock at first was probably genuine.
@ Messers Ferret and Ricki
It is a good documentary.
B.A. complies and Mrs T denies… and in the House !
Yes Ricki & you could be right.
“In 1993 A**** was named in the Italian Mani Pulite (Clean Hands) corruption investigations. Tuscan banker Pierfrancesco Battaglia said A***** was the recipient of millions of dollars in commissions for his help in securing a deal to build a pipeline from Iraq to Saudi Arabia for a Franco-Italian consortium. Again A**** denied any wrongdoing and the Italian investigation fizzled out.”
Isn’t it amazing how money talks ?
ferret.
“The first victom of war is always the truth”
Are we already in a war? I guess yes, we are. We just don’t know against whom and we don’t want to know. Back to TV or I’ll miss the next episode of “who cries loudest”.
not victom but victim! I hate my keyboard.
@Ferret.
“And this is evidenced by the fact that Maggie’s official memoirs state that she learned of the invasion at 3am”
Which is 3am London… 5am Kuwait (the plane landed at 4am plus Local).
BUT she was in the USA at the time…and by 5pm (Midnight LON and 2am Kuwait)the Penatagon knew (and confirmed) that Kuwait had been invaded.
It’s always “nice” to have the “PM” and “London” in different places.
It adds to “the fog” !
“Small numbers of the latter [Walther PP 7.65mm] are thought to remain in service with the UK Royal Air Force as personal protection weapons for fast jet aircrews.”

“It must be noted that most of PP and PPK pistols were made in 7,65mm (.32ACP) caliber, with 9mm Kurz (9×17, .380ACP) running distant second. The .22LR version was made in some numbers, and so far most rare is the 6,35mm / .25ACP version, with very few guns made early in production history of both pistols.”

Of course we are in a war. Toppling regimes and destabilizing the entire Middle East and beyond is not exactly peaceful behaviour. Not to forget the phoney war on terrorism.
Kathy I agrre with your general gist (take) on this issue. and also there can be a certain suplety read into your spelling of the word
Kenneth Sorensen
I am British and the word can be spelt either way in English.
Thanks Ferret for Kuwait video & discussion.
@James – Thatcher’s position makes me think of Blair during the offing of Dr K. He seemed to find out very quickly mid-air. Or was it just confirmation?
@Bluebird
Thanks too for family links. I still don’t understand the rear damage of the Pajero – it can’t have happened in the “soft 30m drive-off” into the trees.
I think Peter mis-translated the death notice of Brun re partners. Perhaps he can clarify?
@Katie – AMH Group – David Steel
@Craig – You want to shoot bankers. Or perhaps want someone to do the job for you….
Just for the record the first naming of a Pajero seems to be in French –
Les gendarmes sont à la recherche d’un 4X4 Mitsubischi Pajero de couleur claire, immatriculé en Grande-Bretagne. Le véhicule a été aperçu sur l’A39 peu de temps après le drame et roulant à vive allure.
14 Sept
{http://www.rtl.fr/actualites/article/chevaline-la-petite-zainab-a-quitte-la-france-7752443773}
What is claire as a colour? Clear??
Same day, Le Parisien reports
Different story – sombre colour, tinted windows this time. Nervous, ?mat? complexion.
This colour becomes “black” in UK reports.
Btw there’s a French fb page on Chevaline, but not very interesting
http://www.facebook.com/ChevalineEnquetesEtDebats
It can be spelt either way you say. And yet we in the free world have a duty to uphold certain, inherited, and proud standards towards our less fortunate brethren in the New World, who are currently being misled by the most formidable lobby that the world have ever seen. In distinguishing ourselves from this lobby we sometimes generalise and ridicule Americans for their language – but Americans generally are very good, honest and lovely people. When we generalise in this way, it is to give an incentive for ordinary Americans to rise up and rense out those me´mbers of the israel lobby that so disastrously have misled The united states of America, just for the interests of their client state.
‘clair’ tends to mean ‘light’. For example, brun clair = light brown. Brun fonce’ = dark brown. Brun sombre = dark brown.
So rtl.fr said “de couleur claire” = a light coloured Pajero.
But on the same day, Le Parisien said “couleur sombre” = dark colour.
Ah… Everyone clear then??
felix,
“claire” as a colour means “bright, light” Usually that is a yellow, light green, light blue, silver or white colour. That is quite the contrary than black. We shouldn’t use too much evidence from the press but rather rely on what we had already researched ourselves.
Yes Felix & George Santer ,this guy spreads his net far & wide.
What I can’t understand is that,he has been prosecuted in Iraq,Italy,France & banned from the states, but the Brits are falling all over him !
Could this be why ?
“The report suggests A**** has ties to British intelligence through a 2002 association with a former British intelligence chief, and that British telecommunications companies may have used Auchi to gain access to cellular phone markets in post-invasion Iraq.
” The Kroll report also dealt with Nadhmi Auchi, reporting the Italian intelligence view that he was a “high-level Iraqi defense procurement and intelligence agent.”
@NR: Foxes in charge of the henhouse.
“And yet we in the free world have a duty to uphold certain, inherited, and proud standards towards our less fortunate brethren in the New World” – Kenneth
I’m just not so sure how much less fortunate they really are, Kenneth.
Denmark – for example – works hand in glove with the USA, having sent troops to Iraq (twice) and to Afghanistan.
And the Danish ex-Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen was rewarded for his loyalty with the Secretary Generalship of NATO, and is therefore in charge of all occupying forces in Afghanistan.
So isn’t this a case of the pot calling the kettle black? (Or perhaps, in this case, Jewish?)
And in point of fact, Britain has been doing plenty of destabilising in Syria, having recently increased its aid to the rebels by £5m for “non-lethal practical assistance”. And that’s just what they’re telling us about.
UK gives £5m in aid to Syria rebels

I think Ferret has just exposed himself. He is a a distinguiehed descendant of the right honored Israelites – something, whenever I say it – being on a Danish board, an American, or indeed a British — they just LOVE, and suck everything up, because they are not used to people saying this about them
So Ferret is a distinguished descendant of the right honoured Israelites. I just CANNOT say F***cking J**, because 1) that would severely break the house rules, as well as 2) be out of line of my usual polite approach to these matters.
Is it because I is Jewish???
😀
Ha ha ha ha ha
The truth is you have no sensible answer to my points above – hence your resort to your latest gambit.
If you are so interested in waking people up, Kenneth, why don’t you do it to your own people, the Danes, who are helping the USA all the way to the bank?
I’m sure there are plenty of Danish sites where you can mouth off your neo-Nazi views to your hearts content, without annoying voices like mine to contradict you. Perhaps the Danish Nazi Party would welcome you as a member – or are you already one?
I don’t believe anyone here wants to listen to your anti-semitic diatribes posing as anti-israeli comments. They are disgusting and offensive. And I’m not the first one to complain.
So Ferret is a distinguished descendant of the right honoured Israelites. I just CANNOT say F***cking J**, because 1) that would severely break the house rules, as well as 2) be out of line of my usual polite approach to these matters.
Thank you for exposing yourself as the anti-semite that you clearly are. Your anti-Israel diatribes are a thin veneer over your hatred of Jews. So… why do you hate Jews so much Kenneth? What have they done to you?
Think of it this way: Israelites are circumcised, and their country is circumvened, isn’t that a little circumspect?
@Kenneth
I don’t want to labour the point too much but I didn’t choose to spell it that way because it is more American. The z spelling has been used quite commonly in English literature during the 20th century before Americanisms started to creep in to English spelling. For example, George Orwell spelt it that way in his novel “1984”. I am the last person to approve of American cultural imperialism.
For those still interested in 55…
No information outside alluding to occupants at all.
Nothing in the ground floor lobby alluding to occupants, ground floor is a polish restaurant / club
Nothing on the 1st floor alluding to occupants, 1st floor is a dance studio.
Only 1 communal post box on the ground floor.
They obviously don’t have too many visitors, indeed for the hour I was there having a cup of coffee over the road, nobody came or went and that was at lunchtime.
Nothing to be seen from the back, no entrance and no sign of life on floors 2 to 4.
Sorry, didn’t venture up to the 2nd floor, trespass and all that.
By the way check out Edg brokers, another GCSS company with I am sure a story to tell.
That’s alright Kathy. didn’t know George o. — that old socilaist — sperlled it that way. He could have his own reasons — or not! — for doing so. Generally, just ignore those spelling it with a -z, because it is wrong – and I’m sure Winston S. Churchill would agree, or his descendent the right honoured Ms Lady Diana Spencer. It is just not something you say — or indeed spell out.
@Ferret.
I wouldn’t bother. Everyone can see what “Kenneth” is.
The less anyone responds to his pathetic Neo Nazi postings, the more chance he will leave.
