The Al-Hilli Conundrum 6629

My post on the shootings in France has brought tens of thousands of people to this site – but not to read my dull contribution. People are coming to read the comments from other readers.

Today’s development of the bomb squad descending on the al-Hilli house does not in itself worry me enormously. You may recall the massive terror scare that was ramped up when some Muslim students in Manchester were found to own a bag of sugar.

In fact we have the opposite phenomenon today, with the spook-fed “security correspondents” on TV lining up to tell us it is probably just everyday household stuff. This deviation from the standard Islamophobic “Muslims = bombs” narrative is so startling it makes me wonder why the “move along, nothing to see here” line is being taken so quickly.

My own security services sources insist that al-Hilli was not a person of current interest to the UK intelligence agencies and was not involved in anything clandestine. I have no reason to disbelieve them. On the other hand, the limited and confusing information in the media is almost entirely from official sources. I find it very strange indeed how little attention has been paid to the murdered French cyclist, and how easily it is presumed he was just a passerby. Surely it is as likely he was the intended victim and the al-Hillis the accidental witnesses?

Please do read the comments on my first entry on the subject to see the debate unfettered by the censorship in the mainstream media. This is perhaps my favourite comment:

From Janesmith101

All comments regarding Sylvain, Al-Hilli and a possible nuclear link are being removed from sites I’ve posted on in The Guardian, Independent and Huffpo UK.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2012/sep/09/alps-killer-motive-baffles-police

Here was my comment, I added as a point of fact it was completely speculative and an unproven theory in a later comment, also removed.

Sylvain Mollier, the ‘passing’ cyclist, was in fact a nuclear metallurgist who worked for a french nuclear company called Cezus (a subsidiary of Areva). Cezus fabricates and processes zirconium into metal and nuclear grade zircoaloy for nuclear fuel assemblies – it also has other applications in aerospace such as components and ceramics for missiles and satellites. Mr Al-Hilli was also a skilled aerospace engineer, on what looks to be his first camping holiday.

What is the probability that two highly skilled engineers managed be at the same remote place, at the same time, yet still managed to end up dead as a result of what looks to be a military style assasination?

As someone else pointed out in The Independent comments, the deceased were found by a ‘retired’ RAF officer who, we assume, will recieve perpetual anonymity as a witness. If the police are looking for a motive, try an intercepted rendevous by a security service fixated on denying a hostile power illicit nuclear technology.

http://wrmea.org/component/content/article/162-1995-june/7823-israel-bombs-iraqs-osirak-nuclear-research-facility.html

The Huffington Post UK reports that this wasn’t the family’s first trip to the camp site. An earlier report had asked other camp site visitors whether they had seen the family before and they had replied they hadn’t. If this isn’t wasn’t the first visit by Al-Hilli, it might slightly increase the odds that he knew or had met Mollier before, this being the last in a series of rendevous of a transactional nature. Mollier lived and worked locally.

Again, I’m not sure of the truth of these reports, there is some very sloppy journalism, as there is always seems to be. I’ve read for example Mollier’s company Cevus descirbed as a steel firm something which it is patently not, but perhaps it may have been a detail lost in translation.

An interesting comment summing up some of the strange coincidences, at least, surrounding these murders. My other favourite comment calls me a “macchiavellian shill”.

I have only one thought of my own I want to add at the minute. Al-Hilli was a Shia muslim and had been on pilgrimage to Qoms in Iran. What if it is indeed true that he was in possession of no especial nuclear or defence secrets to pass on to the Iranians, but the Israelis thought that he was? The Israeli programme of assassination of scientists involved in Iran’s nuclear programme is a definite fact. It makes as much sense as anything else at the moment, as a possibility.

I am not saying that is what happened. But the directions in which the mainstream media is being so strenuously pointed by official sources, like the massacre of an entire family over an inheritance, are certainly no more inherently probable. Certainly as we are now told all the shots were from one gun, for the assassin to get each victim in the head with none of them being able to escape, indicates real proficiency with the weapon and a very high level of training.

Fancy the photographer, just snapping away at anyone coming in or out of a hospital back entrance. Amazing luck.

Anders would you mind not repeatedly diluting and sliding the thread please. I know old habits die hard and all that, but can you at least try. Theres a good boy.

More thoughts – if this is a murder, why no CCTV footage of the progress, alleged, of the BMW and caravan zig zagging across Southern England and France to Annecy? Ferry terminals? Gas stations? In a normal crime investigation…

Exactly what purpose would it serve to release such footage? There’s no public interest. I’ve no doubt the police will be viewing it to see if the al Hilli’s were followed but there’s no point making it public.

Hi all, and welcome to a few new names on here. I’ve deleted a good few new off-topic posts, sorry if any innocent bystander posts got deleted in the crossfire! I agree that some unpleasant views about race/immigration were earlier aired, but I think that has been sufficiently criticised now.

@anders7777 old chap. I’ve tried every approach to get you to calm down, but it doesn’t seem to be working. You are solidly domineering this thread, and as a mod I am finding it disruptive. Please be less persuaded of your own views – they are guesses after all – and more open to other people’s contributions. Also, while we like idle chat here, you are still cutting and pasting irrelevant material from the web (most lately, movie synopses).

I’m sorry to say it, but if you give me any more moderating work to do, I will just delete all your posts summarily. We have only had to do that for four individuals that I recall in the many years I’ve been here, and your level of disruption is right up at the top.

This hospital seems just like Heathrow where they tip off the photographers when celebs are coming thru.

Following the same MO as the Pentagon seized tapes.
The Diana CCTV switched off the evening of her assassination.
    The 7/7 CCTV footage.
All the 800 hours of original Apollo moon footage “lost” by NASA.
They repeat the same MO time after time.

… and not to mention to the Pentagon videos, which would have shown what ACTUALLY hit the Pentagon (hint: it was not an airliner, another FAIRYTALE*)

… and not to mention the CCTV footage of the murder of Jean-Charles de Menezes which didn’t exist, apparently, because “none of the cameras were working”, some of which has now, miraculously turned up.

    Funny that.

*FAIRYTALE: Any farfetched story or tall tale; it’s used especially of any story that not only isn’t true, but couldn’t possibly be true.

    Sofa, at 9:22pm on 24.9.12.

    Thanks (from divan!).

Also, since when did the UK tabloid press develop sensitivities of this sort – after all, we’re not talking a ‘topless Kate’ expose here – and ignoring the photos for a moment, what about her local shopkeeper (did she buy Lottery tickets every week? Did she wear Western clothes, did she make conversation…), you know, the stuff of tabloid journalism. They have the resources – and we’re not talking ‘phone-hacking, just bog-standard, old fashioned, reporter-on-the-beat, door-to-door digging. The stuff of local journalism, actually. Are there any local ‘papers in that bit of Surrey that might know more? Anyone know? One could contact them directly and ask why there’s been no such reportage – or has there been? – about Mrs Al-Hilli. I think someone should. That would some action.

There must be a number of jaws in Surrey who benefited from her attention – so why are those jaws, silent, or at any rate, not being given column inches? I once was told by a journalist on a local ‘paper that he hated knocking on the doors of families who had lost people violently, asking for their story, but that it was a key part of his job. Of course it is. We know it is. So, where are the stories??? Who is knocking on the doors? And what might be behind those doors?

And what about Sweden, and the mother-in-law. I mean, it’s Sweden, not the Democratic Republic of Congo. Maybe we could get Goran Rudling on the job (see ‘Anna Ardin’ thread on this blog). Hmn. Or Kenneth Branagh (!) Or Stieg Larsson. Oh, but he’s dead. Sadly. Or the blonde one from ABBA.

  • anders7777

    @jon

Sorry to be such a bother. However, I’ve seen it all before, and you have not. The average posts on threads here I would guess varies from under a hundred to over three hundred, maybe.

These two threads ate hitting 7,000, with new aliases popping up all the time to give attaboys to the disinformation merchants.

Bear in mind this is a DA notice story, which is pretty much dead in the dead tree press now.

The thread has been invaded by low grade SAYANIM and other riff raff dissemblers, hence the 7,000 posts.

    Capische?

  • Jon

@james, you’ve also gotten caught in the crossfire – apologies. It’s probably best if people don’t comment about ongoing moderating issues, and stay on topic, otherwise it will just turn into a bun-fight.

  • straw44berry

    Suhayl,
At what stage is it being stopped?

    Reporters not investigating?
    Editors not publishing?
    Government not allowing?
Police gone on 6 months holiday until the people that did see something cant remember anymore?

If one of us worked for a paper and said dont ask/dont investigate we would take time off and do it on our own, wouldn’t we?

  • Ferret

    @Suhayl

“Or the blonde one from ABBA.”

    Tee hee hee… again!

Anders, thanks so much for that one, it’s had me giggling today every time I remember it.

Suhayl if it was just one of the victims with no photos to be seemingly got I’d think it very odd. When its three out of four victims that this applies to then it stinks to high heaven. In the circumstances I’m surprised theyve even published any photos of Mr Al Hillier.

“‘Worked for’ ? As far as I’m aware Aked was not the employer.” – Katie

“The “ATK” that Gary Aked currently works for is W. S. Atkins plc” – Peter

“Gary Aked and SAH first met while they worked together at some company making containers – I cannot be bothered to look up the name, but it was something like “Total Logistics Solutions”.” – Peter

“Peter, yes that’s where AH went up & introduced himself to Gary Aked saying something like, ‘ we have a friend in common’…… meaning a girlfriend apparently.” – Katie

“@ Katie: Yes, that’s the one.” – Peter

  • straw44berry

The Saad & Gary photo myseriously hit the press the same time this blog pointed out how stinky/unbelievable it was that only 1 decent Al-Hilli photo (and a crap one with the tiffany style lamp).

  • Katie

Thanks Straw, one came up the first time, one I hadn’t seen, but then crashed my computer & now all I’m getting is this ….

“We found (0) Editorial image search results for: ” FRANCE-BRITAIN-CRIME-SHOOTING ”

But I found also that I had kept the original that you posted a few night ago, I think it’s the aunt who’s looking straight at the camera, then behind her a police woman & ahead the young social worker, maybe the other female is a French Social worker too ?

  • anders7777

    Could well be AKERS

    indeed it could

Because his background has been covered up, amongst other things

Very selective with facts, this charade…

  • Suhayl Saadi

Straw44berry, my thoughts exactly. In fact, it occurred to me that if the local ‘paper/national ‘paper isn’t doing their job, others, as citizen-journalists could do it instead. Perhaps we could take a lead from the citizen journalists of the Middle East – Iraq, Libya, Syria – and head down to deepest Surrey.

  • straw44berry

For sure that photo opportunity was arranged. Just like the 5 or 6 photos of Brett Martin in the Steyning triathlon which had 64 finishers.

So why don’t you call W. H. Atkin’s HQ and ask to be put through to GA? That thought has never occurred to you, I take it, because you NUMPTY™ never thought that someone would ever call your bluff? Go ahead, call him.

  • Ferret

So a big thanks to Katie for denying something I didn’t actually say, and thanks to Peter for the red herring…

That got me thinking, I really ought to have a closer look at Gary Aked’s employer (the *real* one)…

  • Katie

    Hi P.

I’m guessing, but we were told a social worker had left with them. Then the prosecutor said they were not just going to hand the child over to just anyone,so I guess the French equivalent…plus security & or psychiatrist.

Only the uncle & the aunt from the family went over.
