The Al-Hilli Conundrum 6629

My post on the shootings in France has brought tens of thousands of people to this site – but not to read my dull contribution. People are coming to read the comments from other readers.

Today’s development of the bomb squad descending on the al-Hilli house does not in itself worry me enormously. You may recall the massive terror scare that was ramped up when some Muslim students in Manchester were found to own a bag of sugar.

In fact we have the opposite phenomenon today, with the spook-fed “security correspondents” on TV lining up to tell us it is probably just everyday household stuff. This deviation from the standard Islamophobic “Muslims = bombs” narrative is so startling it makes me wonder why the “move along, nothing to see here” line is being taken so quickly.

My own security services sources insist that al-Hilli was not a person of current interest to the UK intelligence agencies and was not involved in anything clandestine. I have no reason to disbelieve them. On the other hand, the limited and confusing information in the media is almost entirely from official sources. I find it very strange indeed how little attention has been paid to the murdered French cyclist, and how easily it is presumed he was just a passerby. Surely it is as likely he was the intended victim and the al-Hillis the accidental witnesses?

Please do read the comments on my first entry on the subject to see the debate unfettered by the censorship in the mainstream media. This is perhaps my favourite comment:

From Janesmith101

All comments regarding Sylvain, Al-Hilli and a possible nuclear link are being removed from sites I’ve posted on in The Guardian, Independent and Huffpo UK.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2012/sep/09/alps-killer-motive-baffles-police

Here was my comment, I added as a point of fact it was completely speculative and an unproven theory in a later comment, also removed.

Sylvain Mollier, the ‘passing’ cyclist, was in fact a nuclear metallurgist who worked for a french nuclear company called Cezus (a subsidiary of Areva). Cezus fabricates and processes zirconium into metal and nuclear grade zircoaloy for nuclear fuel assemblies – it also has other applications in aerospace such as components and ceramics for missiles and satellites. Mr Al-Hilli was also a skilled aerospace engineer, on what looks to be his first camping holiday.

What is the probability that two highly skilled engineers managed be at the same remote place, at the same time, yet still managed to end up dead as a result of what looks to be a military style assasination?

As someone else pointed out in The Independent comments, the deceased were found by a ‘retired’ RAF officer who, we assume, will recieve perpetual anonymity as a witness. If the police are looking for a motive, try an intercepted rendevous by a security service fixated on denying a hostile power illicit nuclear technology.

http://wrmea.org/component/content/article/162-1995-june/7823-israel-bombs-iraqs-osirak-nuclear-research-facility.html

The Huffington Post UK reports that this wasn’t the family’s first trip to the camp site. An earlier report had asked other camp site visitors whether they had seen the family before and they had replied they hadn’t. If this isn’t wasn’t the first visit by Al-Hilli, it might slightly increase the odds that he knew or had met Mollier before, this being the last in a series of rendevous of a transactional nature. Mollier lived and worked locally.

Again, I’m not sure of the truth of these reports, there is some very sloppy journalism, as there is always seems to be. I’ve read for example Mollier’s company Cevus descirbed as a steel firm something which it is patently not, but perhaps it may have been a detail lost in translation.

An interesting comment summing up some of the strange coincidences, at least, surrounding these murders. My other favourite comment calls me a “macchiavellian shill”.

I have only one thought of my own I want to add at the minute. Al-Hilli was a Shia muslim and had been on pilgrimage to Qoms in Iran. What if it is indeed true that he was in possession of no especial nuclear or defence secrets to pass on to the Iranians, but the Israelis thought that he was? The Israeli programme of assassination of scientists involved in Iran’s nuclear programme is a definite fact. It makes as much sense as anything else at the moment, as a possibility.

I am not saying that is what happened. But the directions in which the mainstream media is being so strenuously pointed by official sources, like the massacre of an entire family over an inheritance, are certainly no more inherently probable. Certainly as we are now told all the shots were from one gun, for the assassin to get each victim in the head with none of them being able to escape, indicates real proficiency with the weapon and a very high level of training.

Didn’t another neighbour say he helped with their computer problems too ?

How did this guy find the time when many say he was a workaholic ?

  • Peter

    @ Katie

“Workaholic” sounds about right, and, to my mind, that item about helping neighbours with their computer problems is less puzzling than SAH refurbishing BMWs. Usually, solving some clueless person’s computer problem should not take more than a few minutes and can be done over the phone, or in the course of a chat over the garden fence, but “refurbishing” a BMW is much more time-consuming and really involves getting your hands dirty.

Perhaps SAH did it for fun, perhaps he did it for the money. If the latter, he cannot have been that much in demand as an engineering contractor lately (which would fit with him apparently trying to rebuild that nearly-worthless house in France himself, but would not fit with him having a large source of undeclared income via Dubai).

    Boo… !

Can’t find a jot on him in Dubaishire.
    But then again.

Anyway. I “think” that Saad leaves his PAYE job…
opens up Shtech and is “in and out” of Dubai (mainly in I would say).
There he meets the Iranian dentist…and life is good.

God only knows what he is doing but it is very much a melting pot for all cultures.

Infact, if you were an Iranian and you wanted to visit relatives in say America, you can’t pop along to the U.S. Emabassy in Terhan, because there isn’t one. So you go to Dubai.
Now the Emabassy know this….and “trade” a visa for information.
That is…if you’ve got a “good job” say.

Now in (I think) 2005 (ish) Mrs Saad is pregnant, so it’s back to the U.K. to make it home (I guess).
Year end 2007 shows a turnover of 66K (so that’ll be work done in 2006), up from 20K the previous year (which will be work done in 2005).

And in late 2007 Saad becomes a “director” at “AMS1087”.
I have no idea why. But he may have seen a gap in the market for something.
I don’t know. But nothing “great” happens with “AMS1087”. Not even a name !

Then in Nov 2010 he gets a contract at SST ltd.

My “theory” holds that from around 2001/2002, Saad in spending a lot of time in Dubai.
Don’t forget, there was “a lot” of work coming in then
(See GeoEye. See Space Imaging Middle East. See “the Gulf War part II” !)
And there, he must have had work. You can’t date a dentist on 20K !

As an aside. The family problem. I’d hazard a guess here. I think Zaid is a pretty cool dude. He even married for love. He married an Irish woman. That may have meant he would get a “bean” from the family.

Just my 200 Dirhams worth !

There are ways to disarm the security chips in cars, and forums to tell you how to do it. It often involves rewiring certain functions through a dummy circuit. This is not for the purpose of hotwiring/theft, as it takes far too long, involves purchasing a few parts and mostly takes time and care. I imagine the GPS could be similarly disarmed for a knowledgable person with an engineering background and experience in satellite technology.

For someone who worked in satellite engineering, how hard would it be to circumvent certain functions of a car computer? I would think the circuit board for a satellite would be much more complicated than a car.

  • James

    Dopey….

Given what I said above….consider this.

Who’s to say that Saad wasn’t in DXB ?
For a “hot shot” his Co in the U.K. doesn’t do much pre the 2007 returns.
And we know he met his wife there.

Who’s to say that whilst in DXB he wasn’t “aiding” the US.
He was in the melting pot, was “pro Western”, and he’s not a “yank”.

Who’s to say he wasn’t “called upon again”.
There is alot of sabre rattling going on in the region at the moment.
The IAEA are meeting “just up the road”.
Iran is claiming that there are “saboteurs” at work. (which clearly there is)

And who’s to say that his contact from the “old days” wasn’t Iranian…
…and Mr Mollier wasn’t there to “provide” the professional help in explaining “fuel rods” to an Aerospace Engineer.

Only it all got out of hand.
And Iran has sent it’s message to the “would be” saboteurs.

  • James

I got excited yesterday because I couldn’t figure how a “hot shot” engineer….who goes “on contract”, doesn’t make a lot of cash !

I don’t know one contactor that isn’t on 50 plus per hour.
And post 2000 ! Jeez, you’d be unlucky not to get 90 an hour.
…and that’s just working “local govt” stuff.

He wasn’t getting it (I realised) because he wasn’t there !!!!

  • James

I got put off the “postman” because alot on here were saying “he’s mossad” or “he’s the firm”.

So I never watched the interview until the other day.
I have been working, so only had my small computer.

    When I watched it yesterday…. I couldn’t believe it.
He is just a postman. A normal Joe.

…and BOY does he have a tale to tell, when you realise Saad wasn’t there.

  • dopey

I always wondered about the £28 an hour thing too…not to be sniffed at, but at the low end of the scale I’d have thought.

My dad didn’t pay tax for years on end because he was abroad working for much of the year. I do rememeber a few times he’d come home and announce an imprompru holiday abroad and between certain dates, because he needed to for tax reasons.

  • James

Peter asked, whay by a wreck in France to do up.
I agree. But I say “why not”.

Plenty of cash, like a challenge, no pressure to sell it or finish it !
    Sounds good to me.

  • James

    …and here’s one you’ll like.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfkQ70sT_vM

Go to 5.00 in. And this chap explains alot about private “intelligence” companies.

And if you’re working for one…and in Dubai where there are lots of Iranians (Pro Govt Iranians and anti Govt Iranians) I am guessing you’d be a “good tech guy” to have on yourside.

    It’s not “James Bond” anymore.
It’s just “normal Joe”….who can chat away to people.

    Was Saad good at that.
They say he was funny, witty, charming…and he even got Gary Aked’s ex girlfriend on a date.

    Seems charming to me.

  • straw44berry

Peter asked why the French wreck?

    maybe…….Why there in France?

  • Katie

What if the ‘impromtu’ holiday was because he was waiting for someone to fix the date, he knew he would be going to France but was waiting for confirmation of the day/time/place for his meeting with Mollier ?

  • Katie

    RE: The French wreck.
It would be good to speak to the postman there to see what sort of post gets delivered or where its re-directed to.

  • James

    Could very well be Strawberry.

    Who knows eh ?
The penny dropped for me last night.
Now I have to “link” it all up, so have been sending out emails to friends there.

Looked at that other thread on here. Still the madness goes on !
    They don’t get it.
The “spies” aren’t James Bond anymore.
…and the people that run them, are more bankers than “M” ever was.

Guess the poor sod was just doing what he thought was alright.
Until the “otherside” decided it was time to say “keep off the grass”.

    Hey ho.

  • James

    Katie…

Mollier “may” have just been there to “explain”.
This “probably” wasn’t high level “spying”.
More one guy talking to the other guy…and Mollier explaining.

It would be more interesting to see the aids on the delegate list for Iran at the IAEA than anything.
Or the “visa list” a few days before.

    But that will never happen.
But therein will be your “killer”….or rather your “saboteur”.

  • Suhayl Saadi

Okay, James, so you’re saying Iran dunnit because, in this narrative, they found out that (allegedly) Al-Hilli was selling secrets about their activities to Mollier, who may have been working for the IAEA (or else for MOSSAD/UK/France/NATO). Have I got that correct?

This is very interesting – of course, one of the possible dynamics has always been that Iran might have done it, as they found out he (allegedly) was a double, or triple, agent, or had been turned, or whatever. That, or that the suspected one or other of these dynamics to be applicable.

Is there some concrete information/source that has led you to this idea at this time? It sounded, from your posts on the previous thread, as though there had been.

Lastly, if indeed Iran did it, I’d had thought that the MSM/UK and French Govts would’ve been trumpeting it – a la Alexander Litvinenko and Putin’s regime (allegedly). Unless, of course, they want to choose the timing of, say, a war on Iran and not simply allow it to occur via Israel while there is a change-over in US Presidential Administrations – even if Obama wins, the Administration would change.

Give us your evidence, aviator (as well as your flying-dream)!

  • Suhayl Saadi

Or are you saying, James, that there is a mole within the Iranian IAEA state delegation/apparatus who is working for NATO/Israel et al and who had to do with this killing – to stymie Iran’s alleged nuclear weapons plans?

  • Suhayl Saadi

Mods – I’m wondering – just a thought – whether it might be best to close this thread so that people can simply comment on one thread – the new one – right now, I’m getting mixed-up b/w the two and I’m sure others are as well – a testament to the resilience and verve of both the subject (which will be allowed to go away) and the posters.

  • straw44berry

    Hi Suhayl,
What do you think made the timing of this now when the family also had to be killed. Would have been far easier elsewhere at home / Dubai when he was on his own.

  • James

“Al-Hilli was selling secrets about their activities to Mollier”

Nope. I didn’t say that (and don’t mean that at all).
At the moment I am waiting on emails.
Just trying to see if anyone can “piece it together” there side.

But…as for “Iran did it”…and the US has a “bun fight”.
I don’t think the US want (or can) enter such a conflict.
    Nor can Israel.
    Hence the “saboteurs”.

I “think” that during his time in Dubai, Saad had many contacts.
And with those, he was able to provide “help” (or information, whatever).

But I think that he was “needed” again (as probably many are).
And I think his “Iranian” friend has been caught out.
But as Mollier and Saad…and the Iranian were to meet up, the Iranian had “brought” (rather come along !)…and the result we can see.

Why ? Well “no one” wants a war.
So this war (like many many others) is fought on “the darker side”.

Spies, counter spies, counter counter spies…and so on.

  • James

I look (and looked) to events happening.

This killing is “massive”…and yet no one is willing to report on it ?
    A “D notice” ? A media blackout ? Or no information flow ?
    Whatever…it’s veeeery quiet out there.

But there is a build up in The Gulf, there is an IAEA meeting going on, there is good movements in both GKP and “Oslo oil” companies….and there’s a chap ….who worked in Dubai, was a “techie”, may have been working on GeoEye in Dubai…. and alot of his family shot dead.

In this “war”, how do the “combatants” operate ?
