The Al-Hilli Conundrum 6629

My post on the shootings in France has brought tens of thousands of people to this site – but not to read my dull contribution. People are coming to read the comments from other readers.

Today’s development of the bomb squad descending on the al-Hilli house does not in itself worry me enormously. You may recall the massive terror scare that was ramped up when some Muslim students in Manchester were found to own a bag of sugar.

In fact we have the opposite phenomenon today, with the spook-fed “security correspondents” on TV lining up to tell us it is probably just everyday household stuff. This deviation from the standard Islamophobic “Muslims = bombs” narrative is so startling it makes me wonder why the “move along, nothing to see here” line is being taken so quickly.

My own security services sources insist that al-Hilli was not a person of current interest to the UK intelligence agencies and was not involved in anything clandestine. I have no reason to disbelieve them. On the other hand, the limited and confusing information in the media is almost entirely from official sources. I find it very strange indeed how little attention has been paid to the murdered French cyclist, and how easily it is presumed he was just a passerby. Surely it is as likely he was the intended victim and the al-Hillis the accidental witnesses?

Please do read the comments on my first entry on the subject to see the debate unfettered by the censorship in the mainstream media. This is perhaps my favourite comment:

From Janesmith101

All comments regarding Sylvain, Al-Hilli and a possible nuclear link are being removed from sites I’ve posted on in The Guardian, Independent and Huffpo UK.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2012/sep/09/alps-killer-motive-baffles-police

Here was my comment, I added as a point of fact it was completely speculative and an unproven theory in a later comment, also removed.

Sylvain Mollier, the ‘passing’ cyclist, was in fact a nuclear metallurgist who worked for a french nuclear company called Cezus (a subsidiary of Areva). Cezus fabricates and processes zirconium into metal and nuclear grade zircoaloy for nuclear fuel assemblies – it also has other applications in aerospace such as components and ceramics for missiles and satellites. Mr Al-Hilli was also a skilled aerospace engineer, on what looks to be his first camping holiday.

What is the probability that two highly skilled engineers managed be at the same remote place, at the same time, yet still managed to end up dead as a result of what looks to be a military style assasination?

As someone else pointed out in The Independent comments, the deceased were found by a ‘retired’ RAF officer who, we assume, will recieve perpetual anonymity as a witness. If the police are looking for a motive, try an intercepted rendevous by a security service fixated on denying a hostile power illicit nuclear technology.

http://wrmea.org/component/content/article/162-1995-june/7823-israel-bombs-iraqs-osirak-nuclear-research-facility.html

The Huffington Post UK reports that this wasn’t the family’s first trip to the camp site. An earlier report had asked other camp site visitors whether they had seen the family before and they had replied they hadn’t. If this isn’t wasn’t the first visit by Al-Hilli, it might slightly increase the odds that he knew or had met Mollier before, this being the last in a series of rendevous of a transactional nature. Mollier lived and worked locally.

Again, I’m not sure of the truth of these reports, there is some very sloppy journalism, as there is always seems to be. I’ve read for example Mollier’s company Cevus descirbed as a steel firm something which it is patently not, but perhaps it may have been a detail lost in translation.

An interesting comment summing up some of the strange coincidences, at least, surrounding these murders. My other favourite comment calls me a “macchiavellian shill”.

I have only one thought of my own I want to add at the minute. Al-Hilli was a Shia muslim and had been on pilgrimage to Qoms in Iran. What if it is indeed true that he was in possession of no especial nuclear or defence secrets to pass on to the Iranians, but the Israelis thought that he was? The Israeli programme of assassination of scientists involved in Iran’s nuclear programme is a definite fact. It makes as much sense as anything else at the moment, as a possibility.

I am not saying that is what happened. But the directions in which the mainstream media is being so strenuously pointed by official sources, like the massacre of an entire family over an inheritance, are certainly no more inherently probable. Certainly as we are now told all the shots were from one gun, for the assassin to get each victim in the head with none of them being able to escape, indicates real proficiency with the weapon and a very high level of training.

    @ Dopey

    err have you not seen the photos of a naked Prince Harry plastered all over the UK press pages in recent weeks?

    XXXX

    Harry not kate there were specific requests made regarding kates privacy Harry being an Arse is fair game*, also if i recall correctly those pictures were not published in the UK until after the states.

    * Although as the latest happened in a private party in a hotel room those that sold them are despicable and betrayed trust.

    *****

    An Italian mag has 200 pics of topless Kate and has a 26 page spread apparently out tomorrow.

    ***
    But not as of yet in the UK press. loathe as i am to say anything positive about Uk Tabloids esp Sun mirror and the Defunct News Of The world, i am happy with the decision not to publish.
    ****

    There’s a big difference between publishing pics of a woman’s tits and publishing ONE pic of a murder victim.

    But If the family dont submit the photo and the police dont, where will the papers get a picture from.

    ……………………..
    That’s just it. There isnt a published photo of him for a reason. Its nothing to do with the press not being able to get one- they’d get their hands on one somewhere, from someone…..I, like everyone else, have many photos of friends and acquaintances ….old school pics, work social events, general social events/nights out, engagements, birthday parties, weddings etc etc etc. If no photos exist for Sylvain why not?

    All I can say is he must have an extremely close knit bunch of friends…who all never took photos…he had a very extreme phobia of cameras….or his pic deliberately isnt being published.

    Why didn’t he sell that mock up of a Tudor house? [another victim of the financial crisis?].
    Is he the owner and if so, how much do he owe, ie. how much can he really get out through a sale – or is most of it owned by a bank?

    I think that’s the question. As a compatriot of mine used to say: “To be or not to be, that’s the question”,- I think the question here is: “how much of the house was his and how much belonged to the bank?”

    Yes, we constantly hear that the house was worth 1,5 million pounds (a huge sum). But the question remains: What can it be sold for in today’s market, and could Mr. Al-Hilli had gotten away with a profit? If he could, I think he would have been long gone, because clearly he was a misfit in this area (and he knew it).

  • kathy

    @Kenneth Sorensen

    “because clearly he was a misfit in this area (and he knew it)”

    If that is the case, why do all the neighbours speak about him in such glowing terms then, some of them even counting him as a friend rather than just a neighbour?

  • John

    @Dopey “his pic isnt been publsihed for a reason”
    Yes the reason being his family wish for privacy,not eveyone wants the attention of the media glare especially if there was a slight security risk.

    What do we know of the area, we have a lot of British people in the area? why? a woman who is apparently being hunted by people froma a certain industry an ex RAF pilot maintaining a house, sounds like a place people go to be anon?

    I posted about the Israel chopper the other day or at least mentioned it, no hard evidence though!

    My feeling is we have gone back and forth with this weapon and now its a lugar, the Lugar is the only one that really sends a message as it was a Nazi officer weapon in WWII but dont think its up to the job or what an pro would use. My feeling the weapon used was modified to fire this ammo as they knew it would appear old fashioned and hard to track the actual make and model.

    I dont see Isreal being involved without there being an actual threat, not just on a message board but maybe his company is the key to being connected to a non friendly nation and enemy of Israel – id guess at Iran, maybe also connected to the troop movements and possible strike on Irans Nuke sites! (although Israel had already had their own Covert Nuke program and acted in much the same way).

    Sorry not been on for a while been busy.

  • Ricki Tarr

    To be fair my feeling is that Al-Hilli is/was a spy or a double, his friend was noted as saying “he is a very hard guy to get to know” jobs at multiple companies, going for a job at CERN, his connections in Iraq,politacally motivated, Mi5 watchers tailing him…………Whatever Mi5 say just take the opposite as the truth, a week ago they had no interest in him, then it came out that special branch had followed him (at Mi5 request no doubt) and he had been refused entry back to Iraq! RING THE ALARM!

  • kathy

    @Ricki Tarr

    “Whatever Mi5 say just take the opposite as the truth, a week ago they had no interest in him, then it came out that special branch had followed him (at Mi5 request no doubt)”

    But they followed him back in 2003, not more recently. As I can personally vouch for, ALL Iraqis were being watched in that period which was during the war on Iraq. It was more to do with British paranoia than the guilt of these Iraqis.

  • Ricki Tarr

    Iraqi nationals would be followed I agreeas the did with all German Nationals in WWII.

    Im agreeing with you, I was saying that what theys aid was a lie as they have followed him and had also had interest in him before!

    How can you vouch for it?

    You would be suprised at the number of small villages in france where it seems that the expats outnumber the locals.

    I would like to think that if i did not want my photo in the papers none of my friends would accept the 30 pieces of silver and betray me.

    I see no conspiracy there just respecting of privacy

    @Ricki Tarr
    It does have lots of Brits in the area. For the usual reasons that Brits love the prettier parts France. Also it is in commuting distance from Geneva and CERN. Switzerland is very expensive to live in so makes sense to commute from France.

  • Kenneth Sorensen

    If you don’t believe what I said with regards to mountains accumulating lots of water at foot of same – you could actually build a pile of dirt in your back garden – say 2 yards in height, and wait for it to rain. Then go out and feel if the earth directly at foot is not wetter than surrounding area.

    Oh look – the funeral quickly announced of Sylvain Mollier
    http://www.leparisien.fr/faits-divers/tuerie-de-chevaline-les-obseques-du-cycliste-celebrees-ce-dimanche-16-09-2012-2167137.php
    and it’s probably already over. (“temporary burial”) Very stange. [and the absence of a photo anywhere is also highly unusual…]

    Cremation not allowed – significant. Might be more tests on the body needed?

    Or the corpse is irradiated ?

  • vermillion

    @Ricki Tarr
    Yes – I am not saying most CERN employees or anything but quite a few. The payment of CERN employees varies a lot depending on the project the are on. If you are very well paid then you tend to live in Geneva. The less well paid the further into France they tend to live.

  • Eman Ruse

    Cern possibly but a lot of aviation people will live in that area, likewise anywhere within 50 miles of toulouse

  • watcher

    @GuyF, lol … but what more tests could they need to do, if they have done a legal autopsy whats left ??

  • vermillion

    @Eman Ruse

    I talked of CERN just because they are more likely to be Brits than aviation employees. It was about the number of Brits in the area I was commenting upon not the industries that employ the local populace.

  • Eman Ruse

    Sorry what my post should have said

    Some may work at Cern possibly but a lot of expats work in the aviation industry so many brits will live in that area than work in Geneoa , likewise anywhere within 50 miles of toulouse is full of brits and Germans.

    Hope that clears up my point

    Wonder if Sir Peter Ricketts or Sir John Sawers were at the funeral? Or IRCGN people from Rosny sous Bois?
