Hillary Clinton is repeating the methodology of the Iran/Contra affair, using “black” funds to finance the operation to ensure President Correa is not re-elected.

I had two excellent sources for the news that the US/UK strategy against Julian Assange was to ensure the defeat of President Correa in Presidential elections next spring, and then have him expelled from the Ecuadorean Embassy. One source was within the UK civil service and one in Washington. Both had direct, personal access to the information I described. Both told me in the knowledge I would publish it.

Of course Assange is not the only reason Clinton wants rid of Correa; but it adds spice and urgency.

We now have completely independent evidence from Chile that this CIA operation exists, from journalists who were investigating a smuggling operation involving 300 kg per month of cocaine, organised by the Chilean army and security services.

The links to US intelligence emerged after an anonymous source from the Agencia Nacional de Inteligencia (ANI) told Panoramas News that the smuggling of 300 kilos of cocaine was in fact a highly sensitive CIA/DEA operation that would help to raise money to topple the government of Ecuador. The operation is similar to the one carried out by the Agency in Central America during the Iran-Contra scandal in the 1980’s, the source said.

A few days ago I published information I had received that Patricio Mery Bell, the director of the news programme which broke the story, had been lured to a meeting with a young lady “informant” who had worked with CIA-backed anti-Cuban groups in Miami. She had then accused him of sexual assault (does any of that scenario sound familiar?) He was arrested and his materials had been confiscated. However I took the article down after jst a few minutes because I had received the information in emails from sources I did not know previously, and was unsure it could stand up. It does now appear that this is indeed true.

My Washigton informant had told me, as I published, that the funds for the anti-Correa operation were not from the CIA budget but from secret funds controlled by the Pentagon. This could not be done by CIA funds because, perhaps surprisingly, for the CIA to operate in this way is a crime in the United States.

Whether my informant knew or suspected that the “secret Pentagon funds” were drug money I do not know. They did not mention narcotics.

    The BBC are reporting Lord McAlpine as follows:

    “Speaking to the World at One, in an interview to be broadcast in full on Thursday, Lord McAlpine said he had been “in a state of shock” after hearing of the allegations.”

    “I was in southern Italy. I don’t have television, I don’t get newspapers, we don’t have the internet. To suddenly find I was mixed up in all this, and I didn’t know what Newsnight was going to say, it really was a horrendous shock.”

    “Of course they [the BBC] should have called me and I would have told them exactly what they learnt later on.”

    This seems to suggest very strongly that he the first he heard of the allegations against him was after Newsnight.

    Well that’s bloody odd, because I recall a newspaper interview with him in which the journalist said she’d felt she had to put to him the allegations which were widely circulating about him – and that he’d responded by saying that if the newspaper mentioned them, they’d be hearing from his lawyers. That was several years ago.

    The idea that he only heard that some people were calling him a paedophile after Newsnight is complete rubbish.

    If he does sue anyone and the case comes to court – and I doubt this will happen – then I hope the defendant’s legal team finds that article and if necessary brings the journalist to court. They should also ask him about his previous contacts with the media about the allegations, including contacts involving his lawyers. Those contacts run back at least 10 years.

    If those contacts start getting ‘vanished’ down the memory hole, then we’ll be even further into cover-up territory than we are already.

    It’s a load of old rubbish to say the internet allegations circulated because of Newsnight. And it’s a load of old rubbish to say McAlpine only heard of the allegations after Newsnight.

    Whilst Cast Lead and Pillar of whatever attract headlines, it’s the ongoing daily grinding down of the Palestinians which does the greater damage. The true strategic objective is to grind them down over time till they cease to exist as an issue at all.

    It’s ethnic cleansing over time, another crime in which the BBC and Guardian etc are fully complicit.

    Off topic, I know, but since someone else brought up Lord Mc Alpine again : does anyone know WHEN he went to live in Italy? Knowing his reasons would be even better of course.

    This has absolutely nothing to do with Lord McAlpine of course, but I seem to recall that, in the 19th and 2Oth centuries, it was the custom for disgraced (or likley-to-be-disgraced) members of the upper classes to retire swiftly to the “Continent”, either of their own volition or at the behest of their peers. One prominent example is Oscar Wilde. Presumably the motivation was ‘out of sight, out of mind’.

    May I make a suggestion? Modest, I know, but we have to do what we can.

    Let as many of us as possible listen in to the BBC TV news this evening (6 pm and 10pm) and take careful note of the general tone, any people interviewed, and the specific vocabulary used . And thereafter, if we feel that there has been bias, let us email the BBC with our complaints.

    Can anyone post suggestions re.the BBC email address(es) for complaints, as specific as possible pls?

    Mark; The children always take a big hit, no matter the politics or culture. But brown children seem to evoke a muted emotional response. It’s easier to look the other way.

    As to the narcissism of religions which seem to embrace an ancient belief of ‘Chosen People” I remind them of two things.

    (!) YHWH twice warned Moses he would destroy this ‘stiff-necked’ people and raise up stones from the desert to fulfill his Abrahamic promise.

    (2) He cast them into Nebuchanezzar’s pit for 70 years to humble them, then gave them another chance through Persian liberators.

    (3) After giving them an additional 30 years following the murder of Christ, he cast them off, forever, with Roman assistance. Judaism is a dead religion, to Him.
