Hillary Clinton is repeating the methodology of the Iran/Contra affair, using “black” funds to finance the operation to ensure President Correa is not re-elected.
I had two excellent sources for the news that the US/UK strategy against Julian Assange was to ensure the defeat of President Correa in Presidential elections next spring, and then have him expelled from the Ecuadorean Embassy. One source was within the UK civil service and one in Washington. Both had direct, personal access to the information I described. Both told me in the knowledge I would publish it.
Of course Assange is not the only reason Clinton wants rid of Correa; but it adds spice and urgency.
We now have completely independent evidence from Chile that this CIA operation exists, from journalists who were investigating a smuggling operation involving 300 kg per month of cocaine, organised by the Chilean army and security services.
The links to US intelligence emerged after an anonymous source from the Agencia Nacional de Inteligencia (ANI) told Panoramas News that the smuggling of 300 kilos of cocaine was in fact a highly sensitive CIA/DEA operation that would help to raise money to topple the government of Ecuador. The operation is similar to the one carried out by the Agency in Central America during the Iran-Contra scandal in the 1980’s, the source said.
A few days ago I published information I had received that Patricio Mery Bell, the director of the news programme which broke the story, had been lured to a meeting with a young lady “informant” who had worked with CIA-backed anti-Cuban groups in Miami. She had then accused him of sexual assault (does any of that scenario sound familiar?) He was arrested and his materials had been confiscated. However I took the article down after jst a few minutes because I had received the information in emails from sources I did not know previously, and was unsure it could stand up. It does now appear that this is indeed true.
My Washigton informant had told me, as I published, that the funds for the anti-Correa operation were not from the CIA budget but from secret funds controlled by the Pentagon. This could not be done by CIA funds because, perhaps surprisingly, for the CIA to operate in this way is a crime in the United States.
Whether my informant knew or suspected that the “secret Pentagon funds” were drug money I do not know. They did not mention narcotics.
Harry just read out a message from “Clark” in the UK asking if the feed could be time stamped to make it easier to tell if a recording is being played while he is offline. “Our” Clark?

1:50:55 in is when the question is asked and the reply given “I think it’s got to do with Iran actually”
Then he’s reminded they are “live”.
This seems easier…..I haven’t vetted the source, and don’t know if you have Chick Fila in Uk, but add them as the owner is wingy and doubtless, a selfless Israel cheerleader.
http://www.inminds.co.uk/boycott-israel-2012.php
Like protests, this seems small in light of the urgency, but…inch by inch.
Re boycotting Isreaeli goods : another possibility is to go into your local supermarket, find the shelf which sells foreign specialities, find the “products from Israel bit” and place before said products a piece of stiff carton which you have brought with you on which you have written the appropriate message.
Take care not to stick it to any of the goods, otherwise someone might try to do you for wilful damage or the like. Likewise, what you write should be cool and polite, carefully weighed – a simple request, no language which might enable someone to charge you with something.
Even if you get caught putting up the carton, all that can happen is that you get chucked out of the supermarket.
It’s not just Israeli goods, Habbakuk. The boycott list has history on all those co’s in bed with them.
I see on Press TV that the Arab League is meeting on the issue. I hope they are better at unanimity than they were in Damascus in 1917.
I know, Ben. But the problem seems to be that if you spread your net too wide you’d end up never buying anything. We probably wouldn’t have the PCs we use to communicate on this board. I think you have to carry out – at least at this stage – that which is feasible.
” that which is feasible.” You’re right, but I would rather see it as ‘that which is possible’. You also get the opposite reaction from some quarters. They will go out of their way to buy the boycotted product, like what happened here with Chick Fila, Habbakuk.
But in the end, the owner lost net business and recanted his position on ACA’s provision on birth-control and abortion.
How about a boycott with signs outside Starbucks? They value the BUCKS, more than they do ideology. Guaranteed.
Yisroel, spokesperson for Neturei Karta International Jews United against Zionism:
Our organization tries to educate the world about the fact that Judaism is not Zionism. They are opposites. Our religious identity, Judaism, has been hijacked by Israel. All the crimes that have been perpetrated against the Palestinian people are all being done in our name, illegitimately. Judaism is a religion, not nationalism. Zionism is a transformation to nationalism and it does not represent in any manner whatsoever the Jewish religion. We want the world to know that we suffer and cry with the suffering of the people of Palestine, and we find the existence of the state of Israel to be totally unacceptable.http://www.vice.com/read/what-are-the-protesters-in-nyc-saying-about-gaza
Anon, yes, I e-mailed Harry Fear. I wasn’t asking for a time-stamp. I suggested he have an actual clock showing the time and date within the camera shot used for the live feed; something it would be difficult to fake. My concern is that if Harry’s Internet connection were hijacked, recorded material could be passed off as the live feed.

Apparently, barcodes beginning with 729 mean “made in Israel”. It’s easy enough to check; just inspect some products, and compare the barcodes of the ones labelled “made in Israel” with others.
You know something that hasn’t been mentioned at all?
The drug connection in Afghanistan as a motivation for the invasion.
The Taliban stopped drugs.
And the CIA restarted it, with the American and British Army even digging irrigation canals for poppy fields.
What if loss of this dark money was a major factor in the invasion.
We all know about Oil and Gas in Central Asia, how about poppy right there. What is the drug trade worth? Worth an invasion. Remember the Opium wars in China?
I have some criticisms of the Avaaz petition:
(1) It specifically promotes the “two state solution”. Whether you’re in favour of that approach or not (Craig is for one state), the current Palestinian bid for UN recognition doesn’t have to lead to that outcome; success would secure more legal protection for Palestinians now.
(2) The petition text doesn’t seem critical enough of the current Israeli attacks upon Gaza.
On balance, I think that signing the petition is probably better than not signing. I haven’t signed yet, in case someone comes up with a convincing argument as to why I shouldn’t.
What’s happened to the usual influx of Zionist trolls? Maybe they’ve given up on this site as a lost cause. I’m almost feeling neglected. They haven’t even turned up to call us all anti-Semitic. Maybe they’re trying to prove that they don’t exist.
I have a feeling everyone is pretty busy. The last press release from BMSD was October.
http://www.bmsd.org.uk/articlecontent.asp
Another criticism of the Avaaz petition could be that, with 150 or so countries in favour, the Palestinians are going to win it anyway. Avaaz claim to be pressuring specifically the UK, France, Spain, and Germany. So for the sake of persuading those countries, a mandate for the “two-state solution” is generated.
I’m asking about this because previous Avaaz campaigns have received a lot of criticism from contributors to this site.
Over one and a quarter million signatures so far, and the names are flooding in…
The two-state solution has a big fly in the ointment…Dome of the Rock. Holy to Muslims and the former site of the Inner Sanctum of Judaism. Secular minds need the cooperation of the pious religionists.
But progress must be incremental, Clark.

… with NATO even supporting Karzai and Dostum:
http://www.craigmurray.org.uk/archives/2012/03/afghanistan-mainstream-media-awakes/
Don’t forget the former consultant and advisor to UNOCAL, was……Karzai. But he really doesn’t care where his money for him and family comes from. Oil or drug trade is a-ok for him
Ben, I thought that a specific part of the “two state solution” was that Jerusalem would be declared a neutral, international zone of some sort. I thought that was a major reason that Israel was sabotaging progress in that direction.
“(Jerusalem) would be redivided, with east Jerusalem and most of the Old City—except for the Jewish Quarter and the Western Wall—would become the Palestinian capital.”

Am I misunderstanding your question, Clark?
re. Anon at 4.27pm on Chief Rabbi Sacks on the BBC : to be fair, it sounded like his personal view on what the game plan of the Israeli government was, and not a point of view he was furthering himself. Or am I just being naive?
Re. Ben on Yisroel : is that Rabbi Dov Yisroel Weiss? The latter (lots of his stuff on YouTube) comes across rather impressively, I must say.
General : interesting articles on today’s edition of Counterpunch from Uri Avnery and Neve Gordon, worth a read.
never in the history of heroin production have more precursor chemicals found their way into Afghanistan, starting up a heroin manufacturing lab some 600 yards within the German NATO base in Masari Sharif.
Craig’s college Richard Conroy, may he rest in peace, was killed investigating the links that exist across the nearby, well relatively near by, Termez border crossing into Uzbekistan, he knew names, most likely connective tissue between the US military and transit routes other than the usual, more on the subject than I have researched.
Afghanistan never had a heroin production process, this has been developed with Dostum’s links to the Turkish Mafia, who holds the key to Europe’s heroin markets and as for now, has the majority of Europe’s cities under its distribution control, still. As of late Albanian gangs and Russians are making inroads into the eastern European and southern EU markets, but the Turks are fierce and as ruthless as ever.
This has been established during the late 60’s early seventies, with an ever expanding agenda, every decade, Berlin and Amsterdam are two of the most profitable urban conurbations for them, but so is London, any major metropolitan area or large City.
The Turkish Mafiosi are organised along political lines and large families within, a large Kurdish left wing faction of heroin dealers and producers, as well as a right wing Grey wolves connected distribution and manufacturing side to it.
There are more than one route, Eastern Europe and the Scandinavian countries, as well as parts of northern Europe get supplied via the Uzbek Russian route, there is a direct route to Turkey, I do not know the precise border transits, but would not be surprised to see that it crosses Iran in parts, as an almost direct link using traditional trades and routes, via Baluchistan rather than further south, but I would also not be surprised to hear that the CIA, not for the first time, via its US controlled region on Afghanistan’s western front, is supplying/later implicating, Iranian couriers, who also supply a large Iranian market whilst at it, undermining Iran’s social structure somewhat.
Then there is the eastern route into Pakistan, heroin is traded from there via a variety of routes, I do not want to get into, others might be better informed on that one.
What is historic is that Dostum established large labs and the know how, the US/NATO let him get anything he wanted, Lorries and tankers full of the stuff, with Turkish help no doubt, the US, so I believe, would call this ‘compliance’, but I’m sure Craig knows more about the story surrounding Richards death by now, something must have turned up.
Whether this compliance went as far as flying the stuff out from Uzbekistan’s two large US bases, is better answered by someone who knows that country better, but Termez is the largest crossing and has outstripped the Khyber pass years back.
just sayin’
sorry, somewhat O/T
“Apparently, barcodes beginning with 729 mean “made in Israel”. It’s easy enough to check; just inspect some products, and compare the barcodes of the ones labelled “made in Israel” with others.”
I was waiting for that old chestnut to turn up. Sorry but it only relates to the country which first registered the barcode, not to the origin of the goods themselves.

Kempe, thanks, I wondered how accurate that was. So 729 prefixes are issued by GS1il, Tel Aviv, Israel; is that right?
http://www.gs1il.org/
And to apply on-line, you’d need to read Hebrew:
So what impact would boycotting 729 prefixed goods have? Would it be mostly be Israeli companies that would apply for classification through GS1il, Tel Aviv?
@Kempe So whats the prefix bar code for Palestinian olive oil?
Are there any olive groves left that have not been burned or bulldozed?
Hi all. Thanks for encouragement, comments and remarks. The news is still bad from Gaza and the Palestinians are not getting a fair deal from the MSM. There is a lot of comment on Medialens on the subject, especially with reference to the BBC or ZBC as they should rightfully be called.
I wended my way from Surrey to Highgate early this morning. I felt I was in my late mother’s footsteps. She was born there just before WW1 and was orphaned at a very early age. She and her brother and sister were taken in separately by relatives. She went to her grandparents. In spite of not have been mothered herself and having had a hard early life, she could not have been a more maternal and loving person towards my three brothers and me. So I felt quite emotional as I ascended from the steep escalator and long staircase from the underground into the daylight. The station is set down in a wooded hollow and the trees were displaying lovely late autumn leaf colour.
I found the magistrates’ court. A 60s building, ill maintained by our Ministry of ‘Justice’. The dirty brown carpet tiles were stuck down with grey gaffer tape. Everything looked grimy. The staff including security were yellow jacketed and were oursourced from Mitie. The Met had provided four policemen from the local station to deal with our massive crowd of about 35 protesters! (mostly middle aged or older) outside holding Bliar placards etc. from STWC. The shabbiness of the place gave it the air of a Stasi-like E German set up.
I had met David Lawler-Wakelin at the start. He had cycled from Shepperton to Highgate, which is a fair distance. The press were there and cameramen too.
We had been promised a large court that could accomodate 30 supporters. Instead an hour went by as we queued in a airless narrow corridor having been told that only six people could be admitted to the court allocated. We muttered and moaned but were told that there was nobody in charge to whom we could make representations. Finally we were allowed into Court 3 where District Judge Robin McPhee would hear the case. David L-W had to sit in a metal cage as if he was the local axe murderer. Two barristers were present and two or three officials.
The first witness was a police inspector who turned out to be one of the members of Bliar’s special protection unit. (We pay dearly for that as you know.) He was being asked to say by the prosecution that those in the court where Bliar was giving his ‘evidence to the Leveson Inquiry had been shocked and alarmed at the outburst. In fact there was some sheepishness as it emerged that all the defendant had to do was enter at an open door at the back and walk through a passage to emerge by the side of Judge Leveson. In other words, the place was not secured, there being only one other entrance for the public which had airport type security.
The second witness was another member of Bliar’s posse. The same proceedings followed with endless replaying of a video where the expressions on the faces of the Levesonb barristers were closely examined to see whether they were shocked, alarmed, amused, laughing, etc etc. There was also discussion on how these police officers viewed the situation, was the defendant concealing a weapon? was he intending to attack anyone? All pretty far fetched questions as the defendant had said ‘Exccuse me’ before he said his piece! All this took ages and ages. The two police officers had, with the help of the court usher, grabbed the defendant and bundled him out. He had not been handciffed and had been taken to a central London police station and by that afternoon, following searching and queationing, his file had been marked No Further Action and hwas told at 3pm that he was free to leave. The summons arrived later on!
Then the defendant was called. He spoke clearly and convincingly about his action that day and his reasons for making the protest.
The barristers summed up. The judge adjourned the case to 2pm. David Lawler Wakelin is asked to pay a token fine and costs but he is now a criminal.
Wrong man in court! A good man and a brave man to speak out but he is the one punished. The other one still roams the planet. Justice sure grinds slow in the UK especially at Highgate today.
There is another Gaza protest in Kensington tomorrow which I cannot attend but please go if you can. At least our voices can be heard and we can be seen to be standing up for oppressed people.
There were more than 35 of us not 20. I counted the three rows of 11 plus a few extras. I am the bigmouth quoted although I thought I was whispering! The reporter must have been the one in the row in front of me.
‘A protestor who interrupted Tony Blair’s evidence at the Leveson Inquiry in May has been fined £100.
David Lawley-Wakelin, who made a documentary called Alternative Iraq, said “excuse me” before heckling Mr Blair, but was nonetheless found guilty of causing alarm or distress to Lord Leveson and the former Prime Minister. The case was moved to a larger courtroom at Haringey Magistrates’ Court in north London, to accommodate Mr Lawley-Wakelin’s 20 supporters.’

PS When I got home, I saw Harry Fear on the box speaking on the news channel. One of his friends was at the Gaza protest last night. He was supposed to have gone out there with Harry. He says Harry is 20 and is normally a very cheery person and reckons that he is obviously pretty scared as he is looking so serious.
