Uzbek Cotton Slavery Campaign 1094

I am delighted that a new canpaign has started today against the state enforced child slavery in the uzbek cotton industry, especially as this campaign originates in Germany, where a significant portion of society appears to have finally woken up to the reality of the German government’s appalling complicity in the Nazi style regime and atrocities of Karimov.

However in the UK it remains the case that since the coalition government came to power, there has not been one single government statement on the human rights atrocities in Uzbekistan or – even more damning of our sham democracy – one single statement or question from New Labour.

@ That Crab. Thanks for the translation. What a brilliant speech from an inpassioned man.

He said – Thus, in the midst of economic crisis, as more and more Belgians can no longer house themselves, feed, heat and cure themselves – Yeah, I can hear what a filthy populist I am – well, the Minister of Foreign Affairs decided to offer the Syrian rebels 9 million euros! Of course, they’ll try to make us believe that this money will be used for humanitarian purposes … one more lie!’

This morning one or two lines were slipped into the BBC News saying that the government is sending a further £21m for ‘aid’ in Syria. Of course, no weapons are promised for the rebels or other support? £89.5m total now.

Words of wisdom from this young man, Louis Laurent, independent Belgian MP: “Le mot que je déteste le plus: la carrière.

“The word I most hate is ‘career'”.

To summarise: after receiving death threats, Louis Laurent got every other MP against him when he published the autopsy report on the two girls, which showed that contrary to official lies. He specifically said he would not talk about the details.

Laurent published the report on his website. It’s no longer there. Anyone who wants to read it, download it from here. It may soon be removed. I am also sending it to Cryptome.

I like this bloke more and more ….

    from his website:

“[Laurent Louis] advocates the creation of a Parliament consisting of elected citizens selected at random, without any linguistic quota to return to the basics of democracy, which today is unfortunately taken hostage by political parties, cordons and pre-election agreements. A parliament drawn and composed of ordinary citizens, that, according to [Laurent Louis], the guarantee of a real representation!”

Part of the propaganda for war was heard this morning from the Rev Martlew on Radio 4 Today’s Thought for the Day. He is an ex Army padre and from his narrow viewpoint commences by expressing sympathy for P Harry leaving his £45m Apache behind etc to enter the full glare of media scrutiny. What a shock for him especially after his Nazi fancy dress and the Las Vegas antics.

Martlew goes on to say what life is like for our boys and what terrible experiences they go through and how they are affected. They know what the answer is.

He was saying much the same last Remembrance Sunday.

Following today’s piece they had Peter Horrocks Head of the BBC World Service on how Iran is persecuting BBC staff and misleading the listeners to the BBC World Service Persian service. More of the same anti Iran propaganda. Phoney cronies.

Horrocks has held many important jobs in the BBC and is the chair of the World Service trustees.

A bit fell out of my post. I meant to type that whereas the official story says no-one whatsoever was in contact with the girls during the final weeks of their lives, the autopsy report suggests that they were in fact horrendously abused during that time. This could not have been by Dutroux, who was in prison.

N_ at 26 Jan, 1:10 pm; thank you.

I’m increasingly convinced that there is a paedophile group including people in important official positions, and that there is a cover-up about it. Paedophilia is prime blackmail material. This is probably a major method by which government and official bodies are controlled by unseen parties.

I remember that one of the prime investigative journalists on this subject was legally barred from the Channel Islands. Those who can remember where to find links from authoritative sources regarding this matter, please post them here.

Laurent Louis Bravo! – As the tide turns who will be first to run to the exit doors? Not Nat’s henchmen, agent Cameron, bully boy Boris or Gideon Osborne, not William pervert Hague(1), not even nodding dog Clegg – he’ll be left whining “I’m sorry” while the establishment falls around him.

@Clark – The journalist who was banned from both Jersey and the UK (banned from the UK after arriving from the US, on her way to Austria) is Leah McGrath Goodman, whose account is here.

I believe she was the first journalist to be banned from the UK for years. The UK ban was shortened to a year from 2 years.

The Jersey ban remains in force, and the Jersey authorities are basically laughing in her face. She describes how Jersey Immigration told her she was quite welcome to return to the island, provided she gets a “Writer’s Visa.” The catch is, there’s no such thing. Then they said there wasn’t a form for it. The UK authorities had also laughed in her face, in a different way, telling her underneath Heathrow airport that she had no rights, and that she had been either detained under one Act or arrested under another, but they wouldn’t tell her which.

The Haut de la Garenne case has a lot of similarities with Dutroux.

A rabbi gave the Radio 4 Prayer for Today, subject trees. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01q03vz

Good Morning Everybody loves beautiful trees. In Jewish tradition today is the New Year for Trees. Wherever Jewish people live, especially in Israel, it’s a day of planting and celebrating trees.

‘All felled, felled’, wrote Gerald Manley Hopkins, mourning his beloved Binsey Poplars:

    …Not spared, not one
    That dandled a sandalled
    Shadow that swam or sank
On meadow and river, and wind-wandering weed-winding bank.

Since then, how many trees have been cut down to make way for cities, roads and fields.

Yet there’s also been a change of consciousness, a growing awareness, both scientific and spiritual, that we need trees. They are our allies in absorbing the carbons we emit, though they can never be the sole solution to our excess. Forests, hedgerows and gardens are the homes of hundreds and thousands of fellow species. Without trees there would be no dawn chorus and of all the birdsong at dusk there would remain only an occasional plaintive cry.

Everyone has a favourite tree. At last I hope so, for trees are friends of the soul. To live without nearby trees is a form of deprivation, a further reason why community woodlands and inner-city parks are such a wonderful resource.

‘I walked round the corner to my tree’, said my friend, who was very ill. ‘I looked at it; I listened to it, and somehow I felt whole.’

In Greece and Rome, groves and orchards were sacred to the gods. Judaism speaks of The Tree of Life, through which God’s spirit, like the vital sap, supports all life.

God, help us to remember to look after the trees, so that the trees look after us.
    ~~

Yes. Very poetic and I share the sentiments. The Israelis love planting trees, especially if the remains of razed Palestinian villages lie beneath them.

‘Susan Nathan wrote that forests were planted on the site of abandoned Arab villages after the 1948 war. Nathan also writes that olive trees were replaced by pine and cypress trees and that JNF afforestation policy erases traces of the Arab presence prior to 1948. In 2008, the JNF announced that historical information plaques erected in JNF parks and forests would cite the names of the Arab villages formerly located there.’

No doubt Wittenberg knows of the JNF Lord Sacks Forest.

@ Clark (11h04) on Laurent Louis and paedophila.

A Node has already suppled the translation of part of the Wikipedia (FR) article; here is the rest. (By the way, there is a typo or something around the middle of A Node’s bit; it should read “..that the victoms had suffered sexual abuse either just before or post-mortem….”).

“The week before he had already published an anonymous letter alleging paedophile acts committed by Belgian public figures. His attitude gave rise to numerous reactions from the parliamentary parties and the deputies walked out when he went up to the tribune to put a parliamentart question to the Minister of Justice (a first in the history of the Belgian chamber of deputies). An investigation was opened against hum for “calumny, defamation and concealment”. On 20 April 2012 Laurent Louis wrote on his Facebook page that the Dutroux file had been given to him by the fprmer parliamentaary deputy Vivant Albert Mahieu, who had died in January 2011 and who had, according to Louis, “asked him to continue the work he {ie Mahieu} had begun so that the truth could come out”. In so doing, however, Laurent Louis omitted to point out that the same Albert Mahieu had, in 2001, been charged with calumny against the Mayor of Brussels by accusing the latter of involvement in paedophilia and had been found guilty of spreading false rumours.
The investigation into Laurent Louis for calumny, defamation and concealment gave rise to four searches of premises including the home of the deputy, his office in the Chamber and his party offices; the search on 25 April was carried out in the presence of André Flahaut, the speaker of the Chamber, as required by law. The next day, the deputy requested the suspension of the investigation pursuant to Article 59 of the Belgian Constitution. On 7 June 2012 Laurent Louis was charged with concealment and defamation.”

{NB – Habbabkuk comment – Art. 59 of the Constitution deals with parliamentary immunities).

In a comment posted at 14h13, Mark Golding refers to “…agent Cameron, bully boy Boris or Gideon Osborne, not Willam pervert Hague…”

    Two questions to Mad Mark:

1/. are you asserting that William Hague is homosexual?

2/. On the assumption that the words “agent” and “bully boy” are not meant to be complimentary, and that by analogy therefore the word “pervert” is not meant to be complimentary either : are you homophobic?

    Answers in English, preferably.

  • nevermind

Thanks for setting up the petition Mark, excellent and signed, got my confirmation.

What a great speech from Laurant Louis and what exceptional character. By accusing the Belgian establishment to cover up the paedophilia scandal surrounding Dutroux, who might have had links to British paedophiles, as he was also a visitor to jersey, he shows more character than any of our politicians.

I looked at a video of one of his speech and the face of the leader of the House, presumably, behind him, spoke volumes, as if he was excusing the young man to others with a lot of ‘boufs’ thrown in.

The idea of ‘demarchy’ is gathering pace, much more publicity must be given to it, everywhere. Once people understand the simple idea of random representation without repetition, no more costs for elections and lie, ending up with a plethora of people who all want to be doing their best for four years, the inertia for change will grow to become a viable option, hope is eternal.

thanks for then arduous translation Thatcrab, must have taken some time.

I think it’s quite perverted enough to make up stories and then base national policy upon them. No good can come of an approach that conflates the national interest with the interest of a small minority and elite.

Still not quite sure why Habby sees everything in sexual terms nor indeed why in a culture which seems to be very protesctive of paedophilia he joins with that interest in condemning those who take the time to speak out. He surely can’t be unaware that whistleblowing is being clamped down upon in all spheres. The more curious approach would be to ask why whistleblowers are under such attack.

  • Mark Golding - Children of Conflict

Let us be very clear Clark – in law, accepting and publicly declaring the acceptance of a named file does not mean one can be charged with slander or anything else that might be contained in that file.

I agree with you Clark – with clarity – it stinks!

  • Habbabkuk

David says “Still not quite sure why Habby sees everything in sexual terms”

Was it Habbabkuk or Mark Golding who posted the words “William pervert Hague” ?

  • Habbabkuk

The sheeple on this blog are at it again.

At the time, everyone jumped onto the paedophilia conspiracy bandwagon – including the internet lynching of Lord McAlpine – and then had to beat a hasty retreat, tails between their legs, when it became evident that they had made fools of themselves. I still remember a little exchange on the relevant thread, reeking of fear, when some of the sheeple exchanged views on whether they faced the risk of prosecution or being asked to pay an indemnity. A precious moment!

And now, on a thread supposedly devoted to child slave labour in Uzbekistan, the sheeple, following a slightly crooked path (Mali speech – Belgian parliament – Dutroux scandal), have found a new bandwagon to follow and a new hero to place in their Pantheon, the hitherto totally unkbown (in the UK and almost as much in Belgium) Laurent Louis. Laurent Louis is a publicity-seeking hayseeed.

But, as the great poet said, “Against stupidity the Gods themselves fight in vain”

  • Habbabkuk

Nevermind, in his post of 15h30, says “The idea of ‘demarchy’ is gathering pace….Once people understand the simple idea of random representation…”

In truth, the idea of random representation would have something going for it – until, that is, one realises that it could, with sufficient bad luck, lead to us being governed by the likes of Nevermind, Jives, Doug Scorgie, Fred, A Node….

  • nevermind

William Hague is perverted because he has perverted the cause of justice in Bry Estyn, he knew of the sexual predilections of certain judges and their fellow Freemason’s who refused to be held accountable or sign a register declaring their split loyalties.

And if William Hague is homosexual, then that would only surprise a few of us here, so flipping what.

  • Habbabkuk

@ Nevermind : so that’s how Mark meant it! Yeah, sure.

BTW – I’ve noticed that people here rarely defend themselves, it’s usually someone else from the “community” who stands in. One chastises Mark, and it’s Nevermind who answers on his behalf. Give Nevermind a kick and it’s Jives who comes rushing in his defence. Admirably collegial, but poeple should really try thinking for themselves.

Starve the squeaky wheel of the requisite oil. That is all.

  • Clark

Habbabkuk, thanks for the reply. How long have you been interested in Laurent Louis, and why?

I’d really prefer it if you stopped mocking people. You see, we live immersed in propaganda, corporate media that always supports and encourages war at the critical moment, and just conveniently omits important coverage that would challenge the establishment. We could mock the people who accept such propaganda; I disapprove of that, as it isn’t their fault. Equally, we can mock people who react against propaganda, but that seems no better. If you’re looking for people who respect only the truth, you’ll be looking a long time, as truth is so damn elusive.

Habbabkuk, just who do you respect, both on this blog and in the public sphere?

  • Habbabkuk

@ Ben Franklin : don’t know when you were last on a cart, Ben, but in my experience if you don’t oil a squeaky wheel it tends to squeak even more loudly.

Some of the ongoing difficulty here is, IMO, boredom. ‘An idle mind is the Devil’s playground’, comes to memory.

    Suggestion:

If Craig could allow guest posters, of his own choosing, his absences could have a large void filled with a myriad of pet projects written by thoughtful folks.
