Im just just going to respond with easily verified engineering reality Fred – You can also generate electricity where it is needed. In this day and age that would be a challenge but an easier one than having everyone growing all their own food. And wind and solar would be the most practical foundation of it.

Food is expensive and inefficient to transport, being heavy and perishable.

Electricity is the most readily transducable and transportable form of energy we know! (Thats why we make it and use it and maintain our grid) There are endless ways to store “significant amounts” of it including but not limited to creating fuels with it, for very concentrated storage and use later by combustion (as inefficient as that is) and fuel cells.

Very little activity or endevour in life is 100% efficient, certainly not fossil fuel manipulation and use.

ResDis – Quite right – Russia is of course promoting dialogue, a critique of slaughter; the zapper that attempts to unite instead of the dishonest faking puppet promotion by a ‘coalition of the willing’ to divide and rule.

William Hague to Sergey Lavrov – 14th March 2013

“This is a testing time, a time of a humanitarian crisis reaching catastrophic proportions, with over a million refugees in the region, and more than 70,000 people tragically killed. The United Kingdom and Russia share many common objectives in Syria. Both our countries seek an end to the appalling suffering and to the instability; we both support a political transition in Syria on the basis agreed in Geneva last year..”

The Geneva agreement proposes NO DEMAND for President Bashar al-Assad to step down. It is agreed by all parties it is for the Syrian people to decide who could take part in a new government.

The ‘terrorists’ rejected the plan preferring to plunder, murder, deceive and drive out millions of ordinary Syrians trying to obtain sanctuary for their loved ones in much the same way as apartheid championing Israel drives out ordinary Palestinians using armed illegal settlers that murder, smashed olive groves and ‘spot GPS’ for the IDF who then use their unmanned flying machines to assassinate Palestinian agitators, revolutionists and children who get in the way.

CE and of course you learnt of who the ‘historic’ and vitally active IRC are today?

    As for Moaz al-Khatib:

” Moaz al-Khatib has also called on the US to reconsider its Autumn 2012 decision to list the foreign and Syrian fighters of the Al-Nusra Front, as a foreign terrorist organization. Khatib condemned the listing of Al-Nusra as a terrorist organization, Khatib instead publicly stressed that the Al-Nusra Front is a major military force and ally in the rebellion to topple the Syrian government of President Bashar al-Assad.[20″ wikipedia

In other words, you seem delighted that the UK/US/Saudi/Qatar/Arab League alliance are fighting shoulder-to-shoulder with Al Qaeda thugs. And that is not naive?

Why couldn’t this wonderful democrat, anointed successor to Bashar stay in his own country and fight from within towards a peoples revolution.

What is unpalatable and sickening is your embracement of violence and bloodshed. Your cavalier attitude of fellow human beings being killed appears reflective of your worldview.

March 25, 2013 (LD – Land Destroyer blog)

    – While US President Barack Obama and the Western media lied in concert to the world regarding America’s role in supporting terrorists operating in Syria, it is now revealed that the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has been shipping weapons to Syria via NATO-member Turkey and Jordan since at least early 2012. The New York Times in their article titled, “Arms Airlift to Syria Rebels Expands, With C.I.A. Aid” (www.nytimes.com/2013/03/25/world/middleeast/arms-airlift-to-syrian-rebels-expands-with-cia-aid.html) admits that:

With help from the C.I.A., Arab governments and Turkey have sharply increased their military aid to Syria’s opposition fighters in recent months, expanding a secret airlift of arms and equipment for the uprising against President Bashar al-Assad, according to air traffic data, interviews with officials in several countries and the accounts of rebel commanders.

The airlift, which began on a small scale in early 2012 and continued intermittently through last fall, expanded into a steady and much heavier flow late last year, the data shows. It has grown to include more than 160 military cargo flights by Jordanian, Saudi and Qatari military-style cargo planes landing at Esenboga Airport near Ankara, and, to a lesser degree, at other Turkish and Jordanian airports.

Dreoilin and once again incredible to your 2.59 post. But that is something, unsurprisingly, no one could beat the chief-purveyor-of-democracy the USA to.

Why have The Troika gone silent?

  • Dreoilin

Villager, from the same Land Destroyer post:

In Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh’s 2007 New Yorker article, “The Redirection: Is the Administration’s new policy benefiting our enemies in the war on terrorism?” (linked in the post) the strategy was described as follows:

To undermine Iran, which is predominantly Shiite, the Bush Administration has decided, in effect, to reconfigure its priorities in the Middle East. In Lebanon, the Administration has coöperated with Saudi Arabia’s government, which is Sunni, in clandestine operations that are intended to weaken Hezbollah, the Shiite organization that is backed by Iran.
The U.S. has also taken part in clandestine operations aimed at Iran and its ally Syria. A by-product of these activities has been the bolstering of Sunni extremist groups that espouse a militant vision of Islam and are hostile to America and sympathetic to Al Qaeda.

Perhaps more importantly, the report would also state:

Some of the core tactics of the redirection are not public, however. The clandestine operations have been kept secret, in some cases, by leaving the execution or the funding to the Saudis, or by finding other ways to work around the normal congressional appropriations process, current and former officials close to the Administration said.

(Bold above is mine – dreoilin)

It seems the anti-spam sums have a thing for the number 9 🙂

  • Dreoilin

Damn, looks like I didn’t close the blockquote tag after “sympathetic to Al Qaeda”. But you get the drift …

  • Villager

Dreoilin, funny you’re quite right, i have a number 9 here too!

Yes, i’ve read Seymour Hersh’s views before. I think he is highly astute, insightful and credible. Thanks for sharing these clips. It is important that these insights are shared and fully understood in the West at large. The mutual-backscratch relationship with Saudi Arabia is hideous and evil. AND most of the 911 hijackers were also Saudi nationals, lest we forget.

I wonder if the US having been whipped so severely over the last 11 years by the Taliban and AQ in Afghanistan that they have come to love their enemy?

Are the American people so drugged that they can’t see what their Government is doing in their name? What a sick society.

I have been out on a lovely sunny day to see that all the trolls have piled in, desperate to defend the IRC but failing as I see it, as it is yet another of those incestuous transatlantic snake pits. Find out where the funding comes from first.

Ref the countries of operation my eye went to this link

    http://www.rescue.org/irc-west-bank-and-gaza-strip

    How We Help

•The IRC’s innovative Healing Classrooms program trains teachers in special techniques that help them engage traumatized kids and create a secure and nurturing learning environment.

•The IRC has also provided emergency support to hospitals in the Gaza Strip in late 2008 (in a bombardment that was planned from February 2008) during fighting between Hamas and Israel.

If the IRC is following a truthful and humane path, it will know that prevention (of the traumatisation of kids for instance) comes well before cure, which anyway is always incomplete. The IRC will know for instance that a high proportion of children, including adolescents, wet their poor beds as a result of the terror they have experienced in Gaza.

As a concerned world citizen, I think that Mr David Miliband and the whole IRC turns its mind and hand to CAUSES. For instance – genocide as represented by the displacement of 750,000 Palestinians from their land, and thus their living, by terror and force of arms in 1947 and 1948, a majority ending up in the Gaza ‘Strip’. This ghetto is one of the most crowded places in this still beautiful world.

Below are just a few examples, among thousands, of the barbarity which certainly does ‘traumatise kids’.

http://www.dci-palestine.org/documents/detention-bulletin-issue-38-february-2013 children arrested – at night usually, often kept in solitary confinement and sometimes TORTURED

news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/7646894.stm ‘skunk’ sprayed on people and property in the ineptly named ‘West Bank’.

‘Israel’ terrorises the people of the Gaza Strip for hours with sonic booms and simulated air raids http://www.palestine.org.nz/
    .
PS Miliband D had so little concern for his constituency that he did not consult the chairman of the local Liebour party (on Sky News this morning) nor did he advise the constituents that he was resigning. The media operation came first naturally.

    And this Dreoilin:

British Government Orders YouTube To Censor Protest Videos

“In a frightening example of how the state is tightening its grip around the free Internet, it has emerged that You Tube is complying with thousands of requests from governments to censor and remove videos that show protests and other examples of citizens simply asserting their rights, while also deleting search terms by government mandate.

The latest example is You Tube’s compliance with a request from the British government to censor footage of the British Constitution Group Lawful Rebellion protest, during which they attempted to civilly arrest Judge Michael Peake at Birkenhead county court.

Peake was ruling on a case involving Roger Hayes, former member of UKIP, who has refused to pay council tax, both as a protest against the government’s treasonous activities in sacrificing Britain to globalist interests and as a result of Hayes clearly proving that council tax is illegal.

Hayes has embarked on an effort to legally prove that the enforced collection of council tax by government is unlawful because no contract has been agreed between the individual and the state. His argument is based on the sound legal principle that just like the council, Hayes can represent himself as a third party in court and that “Roger Hayes” is a corporation and must be treated as one in the eyes of the law.

The British government doesn’t want this kind of information going viral in the public domain because it is scared stiff of a repeat of the infamous poll tax riots of 1990, a massive tax revolt in the UK that forced the Thatcher government to scrap the poll tax altogether because of mass civil disobedience and refusal to pay.
When viewers in the UK attempt to watch videos of the protest, they are met with the message, “This content is not available in your country due to a government removal request.”

We then click through to learn that, “YouTube occasionally receives requests from governments around the world to remove content from our site, and as a result, YouTube may block specific content in order to comply with local laws in certain countries.”

You can also search by country to discover that Google, the owner of You Tube, has complied with the majority of requests from governments, particularly in the United States and the UK, not only to remove You Tube videos, but also specific web search terms and thousands of “data requests,” meaning demands for information that would reveal the true identity of a You Tube user. Google claims that the information sent to governments is “needed for legitimate criminal investigations,” but whether these “data requests” have been backed up by warrants is not divulged by the company.”

Nuclear Nightmare ( one way or Another )

I hate it when its a beautiful day, Blue skies, The mountains glistening white, tranquil, still waters, And then you catch sight of one of them evil, sinister things sailing down the our Clyde.

    Scrap Trident: 5 Simple Arguments

    1.Nuclear weapons are morally unjustifiable.

Trident nuclear bombs are eight times more explosive than the ones used on Hiroshima and Nagasaki; and we hold 180 of them. The potential global catastrophe of nuclear war will always be the foremost argument against Trident.

    2. Trident costs billions and is redundant.

Replacing Trident will cost £100 billion. The same amount of money it would cost to employ another 50,000 teachers, and build twenty five new schools. Or to employ 120,000 new nurses and build thirty new hospitals. Or we could pay the tuition fees of one million students.

At a time of austerity where the choices of public investment is at a forensic level of scrutiny, the choice to renew Trident is more barbaric than ever.

How can cuts to public services, to healthcare, to education, and to welfare benefits be justified when the government is spending £100 billion of public money on a nuclear weapons system that was built to target the long since extinct Soviet Union?

No, Mary, I won’t ‘come off it’. What you said was:

“I wish to withdraw this at 9.09 having no knowledge of foreign obscenities, or English ones for that matter.”

  • Dreoilin

Yes, Mark, YouTube has become a pain. And Google. What was their slogan in the early days? (still is, I assume):
    “Don’t be evil”

Censoring footage of perfectly legitimate protests, at the request of Governments, IS evil.

And when they tried to link up my YouTube account with my (now defunct) Blogger account and insist that I used my own *full name*, I more or less told them to F off. Only to find that family-related videos of MY OWN, that I had uploaded to YouTube, and originally embedded on my own blog, wouldn’t play anymore. They hamstring you, one way or another.

“The British government doesn’t want this kind of information going viral in the public domain because it is scared stiff of a repeat of the infamous poll tax riots of 1990 …”

And well they might be. I can feel riots coming closer and closer in all of Europe. The USA needs to get its skates on. But there, the DHS has stockpiled billions of bullets, haven’t they? Millions/billions, whatever. 3-4 per person in the USA.

Please get it in to your head that organisations such as the IRC and RCRC deliberately avoid geeting involved in how disputes may be cured – for the very reason that if they were to do so they would almost certainly not be seen as neutral parties when it comes to handling suffering. You may believe that there is an easy straightforward way to preventing the Palestine/Israeli conflict and every other conflict in the world – but in the meantime while you are waiting for your preventitive measures to take place, there are not a few victims on all sides who will take whatever cure is on offer. Please don’t compound your crass insensitivity any further.

And what does the picture of Michelle Obama shows exactly – respect for the Jewish religion would be my interpretation. Is it possible for you to distinguish between anti-semitism and anti-zionism?

  • The CE

Ahh, standard Mary defensive tactic, personal attacks and baseless smears dished out rather than responding to legitimate questions and facts presented.

I presumed as a concerned world citizen you would be supportive of an open and accountable charity primarily concerned with the support and defense of refugees. How silly of me.

“The IRC’s mission is to provide emergency relief, post-conflict development and resettlement services; to work for the protection of human rights; and to advocate for those uprooted or affected by violent conflict and oppression. Composed of first responders, humanitarian relief workers, international development experts, health care providers, and educators, the IRC has assisted millions of people around the world since its founding in 1933.”

    Snake pit indeed. 🙄

  • The CE

Please don’t compound your crass insensitivity any further.

Far too late for that I’m afraid.

Not for the first time Mary your tortured logic has left me somewhat perplexed?

Are you against all Refugee NGO’s in general, just those based in New York, or just that those that employ people by the name of Miliband?

Dreoilin, thanks for the link to that Indian farmers’ suicide story of 2008. It was truly heart-wrenching. It was reassuring to see the Prince of Wales step in to support the farmers’ predicament. I wonder how that is working out–will have to research that later, but, thank you again.

David Miliband is one of the chief architects of the war on terror policy of torture and rendition. In his testimony to the Joint Committee on Human Rights for the UK Parliament he was clinging on by his fingernails to Professor Sands’ argument that George Bush had revoked the Geneva Convention for the US’ enemy suspected combatants and that the UK could not go against him in this policy. He needs an escape route from justice. Blair fled to Israel. Straw fled to imbecile. Now Miliband has fled to IRC.

Looks like an intelligent move to me.
