“United States Government Announces Transition to Venezuelan Style Democracy”

“In a public broadcast yesterday the United States government announced the transition to democracy. Measures include breaking the media control of business giant Rupert Murdoch, and the nationalisation of the health sector.”

“Further, the government announced it will be removing Monsanto’s role in advising on the country’s food reform.”

“The government will also take the health system out of the hands of moneygrabbers.”

“We hope that within a few years our democracy will be just as good as it is in Venezuela.”

“Barack Obama’s down to earth rhetoric and appealing personality tricked many Americans into supporting dictatorial policies such as profiteering in health and education.”

    I have one too, A Node;

“PYONGYANG—Ri Sol-ju, wife of North Korean Leader Kim Jong-un, opened up to reporters Thursday about her husband’s warmongering, saying that the Dear Leader’s recent bluster was totally uncharacteristic of the man she was forced to marry three years ago. “Since being ordered by my government to spend the rest of my life with this man, I’ve gotten to know him very well, and I can tell you that the Jong-un threatening nuclear war is not the same Jong-un who plucked me out of a parade and demanded I cut ties with my family,” ”

I have to admit you are right. The Onion needs to change it’s name occasionally so there’s that little moment of AHA!
    that yours supplies.

“Assange begins to enjoy the moment. Nibbling a chocolate biscuit and sipping coffee, he springs a surprise. “Truth is I love a good fight. Many people are counting on me to be strong. I want my freedom, of course, but confinement gives me time to think. I’m focussed and purposeful.” It sounds implausible. Entrapment wounds; it’s painful. Psychic defences are needed to ward off the unbearable. But striking is his utter defiance. “Never, ever become someone’s victim is a golden rule,” he says. In graphic detail, he then sketches his ten days in solitary confinement, in the basement of Wandsworth Prison, in south-west London, in late 2010. “I had expected to be completely out of my depth. But I felt no fear. I was tremendously enthusiastic about the challenge to come. I learned to adapt on my feet.” He means what he says.”

Dave; That did seem balanced. The secret ingredient is my worry. Do you think the marketing vultures will muck it up for decades? I see a re-hash of the Tesla/Edison feudal ego and money wars.

@Trowbridge 5:58pm A Gamma ray laser would pack a pretty big punch, the greater the mass that was put in front of the beam the greater the explosive power. This was from disscusions in the tea room of the particle physics lab I worked in the 1960`s .The disscusion was how to create a Gamma ray laser.f can remember correctly it was visiting Soviet Physicist who came up with the idea to have crystals with Brewster angles in order to cohere the beam.
I remember that because I use to tease him the that KGB was on his tail.

@Ben 11:23pm Quite possible .Did you see the The Tesla film by Orsen Wells? Were J.P.Morgan does Tesla over and poor old Tesla is bankrupted .

The fact that Assange embraces “a good fight” doesn’t mean his loves being disagreeable. It’s giving him a chance to stand up for an ethical commitment in which he passionately believes. It clarifies his goals, bolsters his certainty and reduces his existential anxiety. Viktor Frankl had a similar epiphany in Auschwitz and Kaufering: what we strive for is not physical freedom, but personal meaning. Accordingly, while some people are relatively happy to adopt a rigidly defined role (and thereby give up their personal freedom to choose), others with ultimate freedom who are unsure of what they want – or what matters to them – stare into the existential abyss and are consumed by anxiety and indecision. Assange’s politico-legal persecution is resolving his self-doubts; it gives him a clear sense of meaning and purpose. The same is true of Craig Murray – he’s never stronger than when he’s under attack. Hokahey! Nake nula wauŋ welo!

Teachers Union of Ireland calls for Academic Boycott of Israel in unanimous vote.

At its Annual Congress on Thursday 4th April 2013, the Teachers’ Union of Ireland (TUI) became the first academic union in Europe to endorse the Palestinian call for an academic boycott of Israel. The motion, which refers to Israel as an “apartheid state”, calls for “all members to cease all cultural and academic collaboration with Israel, including the exchange of scientists, students and academic personalities, as well as all cooperation in research programmes” was passed by a unanimous vote during today’s morning session.

  • nevermind

Thanks Crab, that is a good sign, unanimously taken, but I don’t think that others will follow suit.

Villager, I agree, he must have had problems thinking out his reform with all that past powdering of his septum, not withholding yesterdays study someone posted here, claiming that right wing people are thicker than lefties.

Still a bit concerned about the owner of this blog. No word from him for a long time. Still there are those who do have contact with him so I hope Mr Craig Murray is taking a well-earned rest lapping up the sun on a secluded beach and forgetting all about the shivering Brits reciting Keats’ “Home Thoughts from Abroad” because nobody who loves good weather would want to be “in England now”.

Carmen Thyssen Bonemizca and Franz Wolf, son of Marcus Wolf of East German Intelligence fame, as well as the usual. Some 4 out of 107 Greek accounts were registered with the tax authorities, which tally’s with what Kostas Vaxevanis proclaims, not Ms. Lagarde who seem to think her smiles can make it all better.

This is how der Spiegel reports this 32 trillion hit on our tax systems and to say that nothing can be done because its all those people you hob nobbed with, uncle Osborne, is not correct.

Invade them, assemble a group of mercenaries and physically take these islands, then place them under the jurisdiction of the ICC and suspend banking until everyone has paid their taxes in full.

As Duncan s excellent point yesterday pointed out, then investigate our private schools and universities such as Oxford, Eton and Cambridge to open the secret bursaries for tax relief, its only fair after this benefit onslaught during the last week, lets call it ‘get even week’.

“The UK nuclear weapon system has been highlighted in the news recently. On Wednesday April 3rd, Prime Minister David Cameron wrote a piece for the Telegraph, outlining his commitment to continuous-at-sea-deterrence (CASD) and the Trident nuclear weapon system. This briefing by Dr. Ritchie directly contradicts the thinking behind Mr. Cameron’s support of Trident.”

“In other news, BASIC’s newest briefing from the Trident Commission, ‘Deterrence, Disarmament, Non-Proliferation, and UK Trident’ was featured in the Guardian in an article by Richard Taylor-Norton, who argues that if the country continues to think of Trident as an employment scheme, we will lose out and be ill equipped for real threats of terrorism.”

I stumbled across this web-site today. It looks interesting but I don’t yet know whether it’s really “independent” and not a front organisation.

    @ Ben Franklin :

“It’s a dangerous game the US is playing. Responding with ever-escalating rhetoric is not a game to play with a starving and paranoid psychology.”

How would you suggest that the US (and for that matter, South Korea and Japan) should respond? You would presumably be against them taking pre-emptive action.

Just lie low and say nothing?

” In this world, fighting never stops”. The wise words of a simple lady villager in the deep south of Myanmar living under a cease-fire between the liberationist rebels and the Govt.

Very interesting documentary on Al Jaz titled ‘101 East’ — catch-up on it if you can. Quite amazing the efforts that the Army seems to be making up and down the land in preparing peace and encouraging the creation of a democratic state. At least, that’s the limited take one could get from a brief documentary, that in yesteryears would’ve been made by the BBC. Hats off to Al Jaz in getting off their butts and venturing into all corners of the world.

Having said that, i don’t know what stake the evil Qatari regime has in the AJ operation — will research later, but if anyone in the know has any comments to proffer, they’d be welcome.

Lastly, the Bliar Satan had to make an unfortunate appearance in the documentary, marginal as it was, not the most pleasant face to see right after eating breakfast and watching a programme on creating peace.

    Beautiful country(side), that Burma/Myanmar.

Wonder what the fuss is all about. After all, he’s amply pre-qualified. Just that he doesn’t have his token? Substance over form!”

Looks like this is the start of a campaign to get rid of him – the usual tactics, a string of non-stories to make him look accident -prone. The Telegraph predicted this on March 30th.

You could well be right about the former. Re the latter on can only say ugggghhh — wouldn’t trust him with a dollar!

We really do live between a rock and a hard place, don’t we? I keep asking myself the question ‘what can we do’? The only answer i come to, is see the “what is” and then live in awareness….constant Awareness. If only we were all acyually in the here and now, we wouldn’t live this way.

Btw, tickets for the Stones concert in Hyde Park on July 6 sold out this morning in 6 minutes flat. Jumpin Jack Flash!

@Ben 12:27am Ben Thats what sceptics throw at him. He made a mistake .You know the Mafia controls and runs the waste in Italy.their main strong hold is Naples, they call the shots maybe he did not pay his dues.A bit like some friends of mine who founded The Mind Body and Spirit festival. They ran on in New York ,never again the Mafia stuffed them over.
