    Crab says, at 13h29 :

“It is also too easy to suspect people of bad faith and shenanigans when its just bad moods and foibles.”

    It’s good that you’re back-tracking, Crab.

But, having read Jemand’s comments quite carefully, I think it’s rather insulting to characterise his/her comments as “bad moods and foibles”.

Personally, I should call them rather well-argued opinions, politely phrased.

    Wouldn’t you agree?

Reminder. Purnell is the appointee of the new DG Tony Hall and chairman Milord Patten.”

Not only that he was also implicated in the expenses scandal, wanted interest on crises loans and was photoshopped on the fake photo appearance few years back.

The guy should be in jail… not offered a 250k/job.
How can the BBC be improving its image by employing obvious criminals?

    @ The Scourge :

So why did Mary use that word to describe the groupthink of the Egregiousness of Eminences (Mary at 10h57 : “Our collegiality here sticks in their craws Doug”) ?

    hbk “Wouldn’t you agree?”
    With you – No.

    Besides,
I have never called Jemand out for trolling. Just you hbk, only because you are a constantly misrepresenting and divisive example.

“As a resident of the land of Paddy Power, are you a betting woman?”

I’m not, Habbabkuk. Never was and unlikely to start now!

Thanks, Jemand. The doc thinks I have a compression fracture in one of my vertebrae. We’ll see how it goes.

An earthquake of 6.5 magnitude has been reported at Bushehr.

Earthquake near Iran’s Bushehr nuclear power station

A 6.3 magnitude earthquake has struck in south-west Iran, not far from the country’s only nuclear power station, the US Geological Survey reports.

The quake’s epicentre is 89km (55 miles) from Bushehr, the USGS said.

People on social media reported feeling the quake across the Gulf in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. There is no word yet on the extent of any damage.

Iran’s nuclear programme is the subject of international concern amid fears it is trying to build nuclear weapons.

Tehran has always insisted its work at Bushehr and other sites is for civilian purposes only.

The USGS said the quake struck at 11:52 GMT at a depth of 10km (6.2 miles).

Iran’s seismological centre in Bushehr province, linked to Tehran University, registered a 6.1 magnitude quake close to the town of Kaki, some 60 miles south of Bushehr.
