Crass 868

In the week they took hundreds of pounds from people in severe poverty, MPs and Lords claim up to £3,750 each to return from their luxury holidays to spout off in honour of Margaret Thatcher. Meantime the media are busy classifying any potential protest or expression of opinion at the taxpayer funded funeral jamboree as “potential terrorism”.

Whether protest at the funeral is tasteful or not is a fair question. But there is no question it is perfectly lawful. There is virtually no understanding of the very notion of civil liberty in the mainstream media.

Interesting article for those interested in the GMO debate

“Study reveals GMO corn to be highly toxic”

“The claims that ‘There is no difference between GMO corn and NON Gmo corn’ are false,” says Honeycutt, who adds she was “floored” after reading the study.

“According to the analysis, GMO corn tested by Profit Pro contains a number of elements absent from traditional cord, including chlorides, formaldehyde and glyphosate. While those elements don’t appear naturally in corn, they were present in GMO samples to the tune of 60 ppm, 200pm and 13 ppm, respectively.

“Honecutt says that the United States Environmental Protection Agency (FDA) mandates that the level of glyphosate in American drinking water not exceed 0.7 ppm and adds that organ damage in some animals has been linked to glyphosate exposure exceeding 0.1 ppm.”

Top of the list of possible suspects on ITV news is Al Qaida.”

Selective (and pointless) posting yet again. The BBC – and more importantly, the US law enforcement agencies – were careful to say that there were several possibilities as to the perpetrator(s).

It was a rhetorical question you stupid arse.

  • Cryptonym

War criminal claquers form the mourners for this spectacle, dressed in red to hide the blood.
The only innocents -the several horses, should have nightmares, on such large state dramas.

Elephantine jurassic multi-colour kaleidescopes amidst braying hordes of ignorant smug, fleetingly lucky rentiers and profiteers, snacking on locusts and pickled proles, mushrooms from atomic middens after energetic disassembly, recordings of music almost completing the synthesised soiree, but absent cultural inhibitions against homicide, such partys soon die.

Do you remember when she …?

Peter Lilley MP just said live on BBC News Channel that one of the great things about Thatcher was that she was able to take part in “ding dong debates”.

Mark Biddiss, main guy behind the song for No. 1 campaign has just made the following announcement. No idea what it is about. I just spotted it.

    https://www.facebook.com/groups/2807687628/

    Mark Biddiss
Ok guys… I ave some very important announcements I’m going to making tonight at 6pm. Please try and ensure that the group are all present for this!!! It’s a good’n I can confirm!! Be here at 6pm.

Interestingly dingdong remains at No. 1 in the Amazon daily download chart so it is still outselling everything else.

Doug Scorgie at 12.22 a.m., sorry, I knew it was the MSM that was speculating but I justwanted to make a general comment.

The petition site against funding Thatcher’s funeral sailed past 10,000 signatures before midday but people cannot sign it anymore. Although other CAUSES are all up and running this one has hit ‘turbulence’. I do not know whether that is because it has reached 10,000 or because it has been taken down ‘out of respect’ for the demented old lady.

Anon, nobody has claimed ‘credit’ for the bombings. The authorities have not blamed Muslims. And my comment has nothing to do with those bombings, which could have been carried out by any number of unhappy people, or even sinister agents within the US govt. I am certainly NOT going to censor my commentary to assuage the concerns of apologists of Islam. What motivated me was my viewing of this story tonight on tv and contemplating the extraordinary disparity between the outbursts of hatred for the destructive effects of Thatcherism on the one hand, and a complete disinterest (on this blog) in the destructive effects of Islamic propagation on the other. What are you afraid of? Readers going into the streets and burning down mosques?

@ Komodo “Wot no President” :

I note that you’ve had time to post some more reather pointless info but not the time to tell us whether the serving US President of the time (Lyndon Johnson) came to Sir Winston Churchill’s state funeral in 1965.

You know, just to put President Obama’s non-appearance, which you were kind enough to point to, into perspective.

    Cheers!

I must say that it is rather refreshing to have a day off from Mary’s continual newsfeeds and sinister hints and remarks about Jews (latest example Henrique Capriles Radonski).

    I hope I haven’t spoken too soon!

    Ben asks:

“Can the Hague snatch Cheney and Kissinger through the UK ? War criminals to attend ‘Thatch’ funeral.”

No. Quite recently the UK introduced procedures that allowed terrorists to visit without fear of arrest for their crimes.

This was primarily to protect Israeli terrorists but will equally protect American and other “friendly” terrorists as well.

Here’s the UK’s spin on the changes they made where now, “the consent of the Director of Public Prosecutions will now be required before an arrest warrant is issued in universal jurisdiction cases brought by individuals.”

    https://www.gov.uk/government/news/universal-jurisdiction

So it can no longer be trusted to evidence and the decision of a judge. The UK govt now decides who is a terorist and who is not.

This was brought in to ensure terrorists like Pinochet would no longer be embarrassed, on shopping trips and other visits.

    @ Herbie

“I’m sure you’ll remember that former President and US Army WWII leader, Eisenhower, was a much much more substantial figure than President Johnson.”

    ——–

    Two points, Herbert :

1/. Correct me if I’m mistaken, but I was under the impression that the serving President in 1965 was called Lyndon Baines Johnson and not Dwight Eisenhower( perjaps Ben Franklin could make himself useful for once and confirm?)

2/. “Much more substantial” . As a President, well, historians might argue that one. Certainly there was a considerable weight of opinion a few decades ago that the Eisenhowever years were ones of rather sluggish complacence; this was one of the reasons for the appeal of the young John Kennedy. (A bit like the situation in the UK in 1964 as you might – or not – recall)

PS – wasn’t it you who castigated me the other day for “butting into” someone else’s conversation? Yes, I do believe it was!

    Eisenhower attended Churchill’s funeral:-

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/archive/churchill/11026.shtml

Can’t think of anyone alive of similar stature.

LBJ intended to be there but he was laid low in Bethseda Naval Hospital and too sick to travel. He was generally in bad health, something he tried to conceal during his presidency, and died eight years later at the age of 64.

Turns out Capriles is three-quarters Jewish. Henrique Capriles Radonski:

Capriles’ paternal grandfather, Dr. Armando Capriles-Myerston, was of Sephardi Jewish descent, while Capriles’ paternal grandmother, Laura Garcia-Arjona, was from a Catholic family, and was related to political leader Simón Bolívar.[9] Capriles’ father was raised Catholic.[13][9] Capriles’ mother was born in Venezuela, to Ashkenazi Jewish immigrants from Russia and Poland, who had left Europe during World War II; his grandmother’s mother and father were murdered in the Treblinka extermination camp.[14][15] His maternal grandmother, Lili Bochenek de Radonski, spent 20 months in the Warsaw Ghetto.[16] His maternal grandfather, Andrés Radonski, was an engineer active in the cinema business in Poland, who after emigrating to Venezuela in 1947, opened his first cinema in Puerto La Cruz.[16][17] The company “Circuito Radonski” merged into Cinex in 1998.

Turns out, however, that Capriles himself is a fervent Catholic:

Capriles’ parents agreed to educate their children in the Catholic faith until they were old enough to decide for themselves. Capriles said his faith had developed over the years, but that his time in prison in 2004 had “brought him much closer to God”.[18] Capriles has stated that he is a “fervent Catholic”,[19][20] and in an interview in the runup to the 2008 gubernatorial elections, he said that his greatest hero in history was Jesus Christ.[21]

By the way, I first heard his full name, Henrique Capriles Radonski, in a report yesterday on Democracy Now!, the news program hosted by Amy Goodman.

Your point is that because serving President Johnson didn’t attend Churchill’s funeral, it’s no snub that serving President Obama is not attending Ding Dong il’s funeral.

My point is that a much much more substantial figure than serving President Johnson attended Churchill’s funeral, in the form of former President Dwight D Eisenhower, the five star US Army general who commanded US and Allied forces in WWII.

I ask again. Is anyone of the calibre of Eisenhower attending Ding Dong il’s funeral?

If the answer is no, then we’re certainly entering snub territory, despite your best efforts to pretend otherwise.

Presidential delegation to Thatcher funeral to be headed by George Schultz, James Baker, and U.S. charge d’affaires in London. President Obama Announces Presidential Delegation to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Attend the Funeral of Baroness Margaret Thatcher.

Doesn’t sound like a very high-powered delegation. I didn’t expect Obama to attend, but I must admit I’m surprised neither Biden nor Secretary of State Kerry is attending. Not even the U.S. ambassador!

Statement by the Ernie Harburg, son of Yip Harburg – the man who wrote “Ding, Dong the Witch is Dead”. This was the 6pm announcement by Mark Biddiss

    https://www.facebook.com/groups/2807687628

    Mark Biddiss
    6pm STATEMENT.
    setting the record straight :
despite numerous inacurate reports citing the family of of kip harburg being angry at us for using ‘DING DONG’ , I would like you to view the following statement

DING DONG! THE WITCH IS DEAD

    Statement by Ernie Harburg

Son of the late Yip Harburg – the lyricist of “DIng Dong! The Witch Is Dead” (and all the songs in the “Wizard Of Oz”) – and President of the Yip Harburg Foundation

Yip Harburg, lyricist of THE WIZARD OF OZ film, would have been amused that “Ding Dong! The Witch Is Dead” rose to the top of the charts when Margaret Thatcher died. W.S. Gilbert and George Bernard Shaw taught Yip Harburg, democratic socialist, sworn challenger of all tyranny against the people, that “humor is an act of courage” and dissent. Those who sang the song “Ding Dong! The Witch Is Dead” in the film THE WIZARD OF OZ celebrated the end of tyranny at the hands of the Wicked Witch of the East. That celebration was not in L. Frank Baum’s book. Yip’s artistic leadership put it into the film. (Yip also brought the rainbow, also not in the book, into the film.)

Yip said “Humor is the antidote to tyranny” and “Show me a place without humor and I’ll show you a disaster area.” Yip believed tyranny is caused by the policies of “austerity,” “imperialism,” “theocracy” and “class supremacy,” which deny most people human rights and economic freedom from poverty and want. A song – music and lyrics – allows singers and audiences to “feel the thought” of the lyric. “Ding Dong! The Witch Is Dead” is a universal cry against the cruelty of tyrants AND a protest against the ban on laughter at that cruelty. For the 99%, laughing and joy are required at the funeral of a tyrant. According to Yip, humor gives us hope in hard times.

    ERNIE HARBURG

Now now, Herbie, let’s not be so hard on the Thatcher worshipers amongst us. There are some personalities appropriate to her stature who have agreed to attend.
Let’s see now …. Jeremy Clarkson, er, Shirley Bassey …. ummmm … Jeffrey Ar….. er no, best not mention him….er … oh yes, Joan Collins, and I think someone said Timmy Mallet was available …. oh, the list goes on, oh yes, who needs American presidents ….
