In the week they took hundreds of pounds from people in severe poverty, MPs and Lords claim up to £3,750 each to return from their luxury holidays to spout off in honour of Margaret Thatcher. Meantime the media are busy classifying any potential protest or expression of opinion at the taxpayer funded funeral jamboree as “potential terrorism”.
Whether protest at the funeral is tasteful or not is a fair question. But there is no question it is perfectly lawful. There is virtually no understanding of the very notion of civil liberty in the mainstream media.
Interesting Ben.
A Thatcher death party in Goldthorpe, a former mining village in South Yorkshire, within the last hour.

@ Herbie :
You might do better to quote me in full, ie
“Can’t get over the fact that there were no riots, can you (perhaps you remember Mary assuring us – twice – that there would be). Don’t be a bad loser.”
So that any readers can understand that
1/. it’s you who can’t get over the fact that there were no riots
2/. Mary predicted, in two separate posts, that there would be riots
All clear now, I hope?
@ Johnh Goss, who writes :
“Osborne in tears (knowing he won’t get funeral like it), his wife got out of bed the wrong side, Cameron smirking. Cameron’s wife is the only one out there enjoying the occasion, dressed for ladies day at Ascot. Classic photo!”

This is an exceptionally mendacious and silly comment even by your high standards, John.
My guess would be that you were literally blinded by your hate?
Ben,
The guy in the blue shirt in this
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BICVI8YCMAIff7i.jpg:large
doesn’t look like he’s carrying anything heavy. It’s just dangling from his wrist?
And those straps that they’ve highlighted at the top left – they seem to be on a pocket or something. They’re not the main carrying straps as shown on the right.
@ Anon (17h15) :
I don’t think that the 2006 act would quite do the trick for the Jew haters on this blog.
But there may be other and better ways of clipping their wings….
Dreolin,
Note his hands are clasped. Exactly what you would do if it was heavy.
Dreoilin; He’s supporting it with both arms, but I think the straps would be straining down more if a heavy load. The strap seems a little loose for that. Thanks. I wanted to see if someone noticed the same thing. He does look out of shape/place for attending a marathon. I guess those intrusive cameras we hate are going to be the only chance of identifying.
And you don’t want to drop it of course.
Yes, Anon. I noticed that. But there’s no obvious pull on the straps, is there?
(I’ve had a pressure cooker. It was very heavy, even empty.)
I don’t imagine it’s that heavy a load that it would be really straining. These weren’t huge bombs and I certainly don’t struggle to lift a pressure cooker.
Dreolin,
I’m thinking modern, fairly light pressure cooker – could be wrong. Have they identified a model yet in public?
Just saw your comment Ben. Yes, surveillance cameras may throw up something. Anyone identify the guy on the roof yet?
Dreoilin – Oops sorry I’ll try to spell your handle correctly in future.
Dre; CNN reporting a suspect….not known if in custody. I am going to be on this becuz I am very suspicious of lone wolf trajectories.
“I’m thinking modern, fairly light pressure cooker”
Oh no, mine was a wedding present in the 70s! Weighed a ton.
“Have they identified a model yet in public?”
Not that I’ve seen. Ben may know.
“CNN reporting a suspect….not known if in custody.”
I’ll go off and have a look.
Dreoilin,
Yes, I know the type you mean. You could have virtually set off a nuke inside one of these and contained the blast – well apart from the pressure release valve launching itself into orbit.

They’re saying
“The pieces suggest each of the devices was 6 liters (about 1.6 gallons) in volume, a Boston law enforcement source said.”
and that pressure cooker lid was found on a nearby roof!

There’s been a lot of white supremacist activity of late. A Colorado Prison Warden was assassinated in March followed by a Texas Prosecutor resigns after death threats. Sunday saw the arrest of several in Idaho setting off makeshift bombs.
The ricin reminds me of shortly after 9/11 when the anthrax attacks followed 9/11. Copy-cat or ?
It’s irresponsible to speculate 🙂
Suspect arrested.
CNN; Breaking….suspect has been arrested due to surveillance from Lord and Taylor’s Dept store.
When you have bombs going off for a ’cause’ that doesn’t release its own statement (would that not be easy to do with internet communications?). Its natural to speculate.
In that picture, The main straps of the blown pack are visible and can be seen to be different from the straps of the mans pack. The only match between the images is the colour which is silly for the obvious reason.
The two photos appear quite unrelated except for both featuring satchels/packs.
Crab; I would be more likely to think it’s a lone wolf because of a lack of ‘statement’
Growing up in NI we used have periods of several attacks like this happening in a week, in a population about a tenth of the size of Boston.
Public bombs were later most often pre-declared and evacuated though.
Did the IRA take credit with a statement, Crab?
Sinn fein? or whatever?
I know Goldthorpe, Dreolin, coming, on my father’s side from a long line of miners in South Yorkshire. While I do not agree with street-parties to celebrate death I can understand why that community was particularly aggrieved by the actions of the most uncaring prime minister this century.
