Crass 868

In the week they took hundreds of pounds from people in severe poverty, MPs and Lords claim up to £3,750 each to return from their luxury holidays to spout off in honour of Margaret Thatcher. Meantime the media are busy classifying any potential protest or expression of opinion at the taxpayer funded funeral jamboree as “potential terrorism”.

Whether protest at the funeral is tasteful or not is a fair question. But there is no question it is perfectly lawful. There is virtually no understanding of the very notion of civil liberty in the mainstream media.

“Now, back to trolls. Paid or unpaid, they have a common result: to divert the discussion, distract and change opinions.”

Oh well Mary – some work still required on the latter objective before you can join troll club. As well as for your explanation for your latest superfluous Jewish reference re Cabriles – I’m still waiting an explanation for all the others I noted previously. A apology for your “untermensch” reference is still overdue. I’m rather tempted to make a donation to a charity edcuating on the dangers of anti-semitism every time you make one of these objectionable utterances.

Guano – thanks for your comment. I’m so ignorant as to be rather surprised that it should matter to a Muslim who the Prophet’s successor was*, let alone matter enough to justify killing a brother for his opinion.. But I guess that’s people…and as such a very hard situation to reverse.

“cloning of Mrs T’s phoney trail will inevitably lead to the Zionist Miliband family coming to power at the next election.”

Perhaps if you looked at the matter more closely you might find that the Milliband family is slightly less Zionist than you imagine – that is of course if you have the critical faculties to distinguish between having Jewish ancestry and being Zionist .

If anyone here needs lessons in producing ad hominems, try reading Tara McElvey (who she?) on the BBC website.

The statement is vintage Assange – full of swagger and bombast, replete with the rhetoric of public service.

‘Six years after Wikileaks was founded, Assange and his organisation are under pressure. He worked on the database at the Ecuadorean Embassy in London, where he is now living.

He has not been charged with a crime, but two women say he committed sexual offences, which he denies, and Swedish officials want to question him. Meanwhile Wikileaks has experienced well-publicised financial difficulties.’

The point is that faith is defined by proximity of the heart to God and His messenger, not proximity of the DNA.

If a policeman obeys the rule of his heart that cutting police presence will increase crime, why should he be sacked for it? Cutting executive pay would be a much more intelligent economy than cutting police stations.

Cameron and Osborne favour the ‘bought’ who agree with them over the rest of us who disagree. We are penalised for believing in justice. The criteria of Islam are faith, justice, charity. All absent in the philosophy of Mrs Thatcher.

That picked up the Kissinger biography in the side bar.

Folks worried about virus infection. If you run either Java or Flash (and most have Flash) then YOU MUST ALLOW THESE TO AUTOUPDATE ALWAYS. Most machines I see belonging to friends or family with a virus infection have old version of Flashplayer and Java on their machines. Security holes in these products have been very widely exploited to implant trojans on PCs.

Microsoft, Apple, Facebook and many other large companies have been infected themselves via these exploits. You don’t even have to visit a dodgy site as mainstream sites may have had its own servers infected or more likely are simply displaying ads from ad providers. The ads themselves are infected. That said according to webcrawlers, the site pornhub (and related) is one of the most heavily infected sites.

Having the latest version of Flash and Java doesn’t guarantee 100% safety but it greatly reduces the time window and number of vulnerabilities available to an attack,

Another trick used by some trojans is to allow the virus scanner to find a sacrificial copy of itself while others are hidden deep down. You think you have cleared the machine and the scanner says all is ok but it is not. A disk diagnostic utility booted from CD/DVD to blank the disk followed by format and then re-install from read only CD/DVD media with a known good copy of the Operating System is needed to be absolutely sure. Even then it could be in the BIOS but that’s a whole other can of worms probably best not opened in this thread.

Diagnostic tools for drives to allow this complete wipe can often be downloaded from the manufacturers website. Failing this delete existing partitions using installation media, then do a full format as second best before repartitioning your drive as required and re-installing the operating system.

    Flash Version check at http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html

This is my bubble car. The Bentley’s with the chauffeur. Cameron doesn’t zap Assad. Does that mean he’s joined Stop the War?

The day a UK politician doesn’t jump to the Zionist/US President command is the day that global power is transferred to Zionist China.

Why don’t you quote the sections of the article which highlight the criticisms of Kissinger – if the best you can come up with is that she accuses Assange of having “swagger and bomabast” – given that the rest of what she says about Assange is entirely factual then I’m afraid you are really struggling. Given that I suspect your idea of balanced reporting would be to assign hero status tro Assange and devil status to Kissinger – and not allow anyone to form their own views based on the facts, I suspect your views as to what does and doesn’t constitute balance reporting really aren’t worth listening to.

And I think you will find that Tara McElvey is Tara McElvey who is a journalist who works for the BBC.

Sorry for all bolded. Wasn’t meant to be. Should have also said that browsers, media players and of course, the OS should always also be kept up to date. Yes it is possible someone can hijack their extremely securely signed downloads but that’s unlikely. Unless you’re working for North Korea or something when it might be more likely…

And talking of zero day exploits. Apparently civilian aircraft flight software in common use allows a hacker to use the almost unbelievably totally unsecured, in the clear ACARS channels to compromise first ACARS and then via trickery the Flight Control Software. Some phone multifunction radio chips astonishingly even have an ACARS transceiver which can be enabled with a simple bit twiddle. Just been demonstrated at a recent hacker conference that it is possible for a passenger to take control of a plane from their mobile phone. Or from the ground with a stronger transmitter if not suicidal.

    http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/04/11/hacking_aircraft_with_android_handset/

Researcher hacks aircraft controls with Android smartphone

A presentation at the Hack In The Box security summit in Amsterdam has demonstrated that it’s possible to take control of aircraft flight systems and communications using an Android smartphone and some specialized attack code.

Hugo Teso, a security researcher at N.Runs and a commercial airline pilot, spent three years developing the code, buying second-hand commercial flight system software and hardware online and finding vulnerabilities within it. His presentation will cause a few sleepless nights among those with an interest in aircraft security.

Teso’s attack code, dubbed SIMON, along with an Android app called PlaneSploit, can take full control of flight systems and the pilot’s displays. The hacked aircraft could even be controlled using a smartphone’s accelerometer to vary its course and speed by moving the handset about.

From a quick scan of the presentation and comments on professional forums from people who know what they are talking about, it seems legit.

Why? Because before Blair had a dig at Ed Miliband yesterday everyone had forgotten he existed.

The plane controller guy also reckons there are vulnerable routes into the system over the internet as well. Recreate your own Die Hard 2 from the comfort of your own front room. Likely followed by a not so comfortable room for the rest of your life of course.

The media reports saying that the pilots could simply switch the systems off. Well let’s just say it is not as simple as that and leave it there but the gory story is out there.

There’s always an alternative on the day.

A lot of us are having a day out in France next week. Wednesday seems about right

We’re led to believe there’s one of those ‘Welcome to Ruritania’ things on in England that day.
Still plenty of room on board mateys !!

I’m getting sick of hearing people say that it’s “distasteful” to protest at Thatcher’s funeral. Even Craig Murray writes:

“Whether protest at the funeral is tasteful or not is a fair question.”

NO, IT’S NOT A FAIR QUESTION.

It’s not a fair question because the public is being forced to pay for an elaborate state funeral THAT WE DIDN’T ASK FOR. Massive excess for an individual who did what for this country and our lives? Thatcher was lionised NOT by the public, but by the politicians and businessmen of her day, those who profited from her policies, men such as Rupert Murdoch. As George Orwell wrote:

“He who controls the past, controls the future. He who controls the present controls the past.”

If I were one of Thatcher’s children, I would tell the politicians that, sorry, it’s going to be a private funeral, so go away, and STOP EXPLOITING MY MOTHER’S DEATH FOR POLITICAL PURPOSES.

Only a private funeral would make it right to question the propriety of protesting.

Yet again, those in power and the corporate media are setting the agenda: “The public behaving badly!”.

It’s NOT the public that’s behaving badly, it’s the politicians – vultures picking over Thatcher’s corpse for political advantage.

Nobody cares about Thatcher’s death, not Cameron, not Johnson, not Murdoch – NONE OF THEM! If they really cared, they would be paying for the cost of this ostentatious funeral out of their own pockets, and demanding a private funeral.

“A Christmas Carol” (1951); the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come: not even businessmen mourned Scrooge’s death.
