The shocking death of Lee Rigby quite naturally appals us all. The intention of the crazed little group who conceived this killing was to make it as horrible as possible in order to scare people.
Horrible, sociopathic violence happens to people from time to time. They have done since Cain killed Abel, metaphorically or literally as you choose. Here is another headline today, just as horrific:
A British soldier has been jailed for stabbing a 10-year-old boy after getting drunk on vodka while serving in Afghanistan.
Both that obscene attack and Michael Adebolajo’s appalling actions are borne out of the same conflict. But it is reasonable to suppose that both these incidents involved people with, for whatever reason, a pre-disposition to murderous violence.
Such people have always been with us and will always be with us, but fortunately they are very, very few. In a nation of 60 million, involvement in violent crime is very low. If you are the victim of criminal violence, the odds over the last decade are about one in twenty thousand that the violence inflicted on you will have any linkage to political or terrorist causation. And the odds that you will suffer any kind of violent attack are thankfully pretty remote.
We should not panic from theatrical violence, just deplore and take sober stock. Sadly if a lunatic on the bus decides to strangle you tomorrow, there are no pre-emptive laws that can stop that. We should stop pretending that the state can always prevent.

Man charged in connection with social media comments about Drummer Lee Rigby
A 19-year-old man has been charged in connection with comments placed on a social media website following the murder of Drummer Lee Rigby in Woolwich.
Mohammed Mazar, of Balmoral Drive, Woking, has been charged with an offence of improper use of public electronic communications network under section 127 of the Communications Act 2003.
He has been released on bail to appear at South West Surrey Magistrates Court on 11 June.
Neighbourhood Superintendent Matt Goodridge said: “Surrey Police will not tolerate language used in a public place, including on social media websites, which causes harassment, alarm or distress.

Woolwich murder probe: Three more arrests
Three further arrests have been made in connection with the murder of off-duty soldier Lee Rigby, police have said.
The Met said counter terrorism officers arrested three men, aged 21, 24 and 28, on Saturday evening on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder – a Taser was used on two of them.

I am always amazed by fools who descend further into the abyss of stupidity by resorting to time-tested tactics of ad hominen, guilt by false association, invalid comparisons, smug condescension and cavalier dismissal of pertinent evidence. Arguments are very thin on intelligent analysis, the preference clearly being for an emotionally satisfying conclusion. But I suppose this is to be expected from uneducated people who have never produced analytical works in the form of essays, reports or theses. Dunning-Kruger at play, perhaps.
I have a close friend whose major was political science and his current position with the govt gives him access to intelligence resources. In fact, he produces risk assessments related to potential Islamic violence. His course thesis was on a particular Islamist organisation that is associated with violent incidents and protests around the world. Most people are clueless about the existence and activities of this organisation in the same way that so many Americans were about the rise of organised crime in the US during the first half of the 20th century. Little did Americans know that FBI director, J. Edgar Hoover, was obstructing development of counter measures to organised crime because he claimed it didn’t exist. Subsequent to his death in the 70s, long circulated rumours became public and these suggested that he was compromised into this position by a nocturnal habit of donning a gown and having sex with juvenile boys supplied by the mafia.
Whatever the truth of this rumour, Hoover ignored internal reports that confirmed the existence and infiltration of organised crime into the judiciary and police, and its corporate-like development of large-scale criminal activities until his stubborn inaction became an embarrassment to the FBI. For over twenty long years he openly denied its existence and worked against efforts to reign it in.
This demonstration of wilful ignorance, denial and obstructionism is evident not only in social and criminal matters. We have seen, in the last 50 odd years, the same ignorant refusal to acknowledge and respond to globally significant developments in the areas of resource depletion and atmospheric pollution – ie Peak Oil & Gas and Anthropogenic Climate Change. Nick Robinson is giving the terrorist theme full welly on the Marr Show on BBC1 now in a big build up for his upcoming ‘major’ interview with Theresa May. He is hosting the programme today. He was the one who used the phrase ‘of Muslim appearance’ on Wednesday and, following much criticism, said that he had been told that by No 10.

There are at least five CCTV cameras covering the area where the incident took place. No doubt we will soon be seeing some of this appear, showing the car driving towards Rigsby on the pavement, along with all the additional footage taken by the many onlookers holding camera phones, right?
Using Google steet view it is possible to see that if you wanted to avoid as many of the CCTV cameras as possible the best spot available is under the tree by the railings, coincidentally where Rigsby was reportedly murdered before his body was dragged into the middle of the road.
Now the scene is open to the public the street sign can be clearly examined. Why has the car suffered such catastrophic damage by driving into a street sign which shows no damage at all – no blue paint marks, no scuffs and no dents? The caved in windscreen suggests an impact with a pedestrian, but at more than the speed one would have thought possible on a busy London street. The amount of damage suggests a double impact (first a pedestrian and the a street sign) which should have caused a lot of noise and drawn the attention of many witnesses.
Why are there no witnesses that state something like “a blue car came swerving across the road and onto the pavement at about 30 mph, it then hit a pedestrian before colliding with a street sign” – no one has even reported hearing a car crash let alone seeing it, all eyewitness accounts begin with people saying that they *thought* or *it appeared* that an accident “had just happened” and then seeing the two men hacking at the victim, no one says “I saw the car mount the pavement…”, or “I heard a loud crash and turned to see…” etc.
If this was a planned attack then why choose such a potentially unpredictable first attack method of driving straight at the victim? Why did they not just calmly walk up to him? How could they identify the victim from a car at a suitable distance that would have allowed them to have driven at him with such speed that he was not able to take evasive action?
I am not promoting any theory, I am simply asking people to look at what they are being presented with by the media and use critical thinking and common sense to withhold conclusions they draw based purely on such a limited and restrictive narrative.

Comparative impact damage similar to the blue car (which is actually more damaged). This resulted in the driver being hospitalised and the lamp post being knocked over, which also clearly shows scuffs and paint marks as would be expected after an impact with a vehicle.
The drivers airbag was deployed, but there was no airbag on the passenger side which suggests he was wearing a seatbelt otherwise he would have gone through the windscreen, or at least have suffered sever facial injuries. He also had to decamp the vehicle using the drivers door, an awkward manoeuvre which would have delayed him further.
But we are we also to believe that after the impact they were straight out of the car, wielding their weapons, and hacking at Rigsby so quickly that no one actually saw them get out of the car and approach the victim? Even after hearing the the crash of the impact? And no one started filming until after they had finished killing Rigsby and dragged his body into the middle of the road?
Mainstream media is raving – and, of course, not responsible (because insane), for the consequences – fear among Muslims all over Britain.
Of course, too, the politicians aren’t responsible. Plus, they’re terrified of the media.
Does anyone still remember, let alone turn to, Tariq Jahan – whose quiet dignity touched everyone in Britain less than two years ago?
But, no. The media prefer to go and intimidate other spokesmen for British Muslims – people who have already been comprehensively demonised, or any of the myriad plastic Muslims the media and politicians have been creating – so that polarisation will increase.
Nor has mainstream media – what Barry Long, in 1985, called “the new ruling emotional authority of the world” – seriously investigated the strange phenomenon of pro-zionist, anti-muslim, extremist groups across Europe, which exist solely for purposes of provocation and content-provision for the media itself (news and, more significantly, commentary).

Why did the police not treat the vehicle as a potential booby trap and why did they leave it unsecured, even after the shooting of the suspects? The car boot was opened before the police secured the scene, by whom and why? Clearly no concern about ricin, anthrax or bombs being in the car, why?
In fact why was the whole crime scene was not secured once they had the attackers in custody? In one video a copper is apparently calling on a crowd of people to “move back, move back” even as we can see ‘civilians’ milling around Rigsby’s corpse in the background – beyond bizarre behaviour from the Police.
There is much talk in the media today, following the Woolwich event, for a Communications data Bill to be introduced. Clegg and co are being painted as the bad guys for refusing to back it.
