Preparing to Bomb Syria 340

Quite simply I do not believe the US, UK and French government’s assertion that the Syrian government has used chemical weapons against rebels “multiple times in small quantities”.  Why on earth would they do that?  The claim that “up to 150 people have died” spread over a number of incidents makes no sense at all.  In a civil war when tens of thousands of people have died, where all sides have been guilty of massacres of scores at a time, I cannot conceive of any motive for killing a dozen or so at any one time with the odd chemical shell.  It makes no military sense – chemical weapons are designed for use against population centres and massed armies.  They are not precision weapons for deployment against small groups.

Why on earth would the Assad regime use a tiny amount of chemical weapons against tiny groups of rebels, knowing the West would use it as an excuse to start bombing?  It makes no sense whatsoever.  Cui bono?

The Russians have described the evidence as fabricated, and on this one I am with the Russians.

It is of course no coincidence that this humanitarian motive to start bombing Syria  arises just as the tide of war turned against the rebels, and the government forces are about to move on Aleppo.  I suspect now we will see massive NATO force intervention, with huge air to ground destruction of the government forces all over the country to “defend” Aleppo, just as we saw hundreds of thousands killed and whole cities destroyed in Libya to “defend” Benghazi.  Whose people showed their gratitude by murdering the US Ambassador.

It is a further fascinating coincidence that this coordinated western switch of policy happens immediately after the Bilderberg conference.  An analysis of which of the corporate interests there stand to gain in Syria might be a fascinating exercise.

There were two main reasons the tide of war turned against the rebels.  Firstly, Hizbollah’s decision to enter the war on a large scale was provoked by the Israeli Air Force’s massive attack around Damascus, a fact the mainstream media has managed to hide completely.  Secondly, at Turkish urging, the rebel forces had diverted much of their energies to attacking the Syrian kurds.  This opens the interesting question of what the American client Kurds of Iraq will make of their patron sponsoring the massacre of their brethren in Syria.

Finally, chemical weapons are a terrible thing and their use should be  condemned unreservedly.  But where was all this Western outrage and activity when the Israelis were pouring down white phosphorous and kicking and maiming thousands of women and children in Gaza?

Mohammed Atta’s passport was found in the street (snigger) so we know where HE was from. How lucky was that?

Recollecting the clean and legible passport that was fortuitously only slightly singed at one corner, leaving the photo and the details of the nasty tayyyrrrreerrrist in tact, so that the world would know the identity of the dastardly Ata. (He should have thrown it out of the plane window just the last minute before the impact, that is after he had left his “Arabic flight manual” for a different aircraft in the boot of the hire car)*.

Also found was the teddy bear in the rubble that after getting dry cleaned was repatriated to the relevant charity by the duchess of York. (watch it before this too is taken off).

    * Also in a fashion after Charlie Chan the aircraft stick was found to have the imprints of someone with a cut on his thumb, which of course directly implicated Ata in 9/11.

A little demonization of Putin is included in this summary of the No 10 press conference.

‘What went on in the meeting was, of course, private but what was clear to everyone at the press conference afterwards was that the Russian President was not in a happy mood.

Smaller than David Cameron – but stocky – Mr Putin managed to carry off an air of menace effortlessly. His dead eyes darted around the room – meeting the gaze of journalists and holding it for slightly too long before moving on dismissively.’

“That doesn’t change the fact that all the hijackers were Saudi Sunni Muslims does it?”

Of course it does. It means that at least 7 remain of unknown origin.

“I just ask which countries were they nationals of? Surely that is known?”

    See above.
    ——
    From Wiki:

    Origins of the 19 hijackers
    Nationality Number
    Saudi Arabia
    15
    United Arab Emirates
    2

MJ, any particular reason you don’t want to spell out SAUDI ARABIA? I can guess but i’ll keep it to myself.

    Mike, quite a thing LOL!

“MJ, any particular reason you don’t want to spell out SAUDI ARABIA? I can guess but i’ll keep it to myself”

No need to guess, I spelt it out really clearly. The fact that wikipedia fails to accommodate the well-documented fact that at least seven of the alleged hijackers have turned up alive and well is of no particular concern to me.

Plucky fight. Red the winner. Next match….

Why do i find Cameron so greasy and boring. And Obama, God the biggest let-down/hypocrite/liar of the century, already. And Erdogan, in need of a wardrobe consultant especially for casual Sundays so doesn’t have to wear blue-checkered table cloths. And Morsi, a fat distrustful bear in a Wesrern suit.

MJ ok since you’re tracking it, what nationality, the others? And the 7 alive?

  • MJ

    “…what nationality, the others?”

    Who knows?

    “And the 7 alive?”

Can’t remember. This story is over ten years old. Google it. Or start with Mike’s BBC link above (9.40)

    Jemand Troll,

You’re very wrong about Sofia’s posts being only appreciated by her.

I love them and find them hilarious, especially when they skewer slimy trolls.Ideally 4 trolls at once, which seems to be the phalanx gig here.

Away tae yer bed son eh?

“Perhaps the network of financial institutions and the military industrial complex. that sit ‘behind and above’ our governments, might have something to do with it. ”

Yes, but the people keep on falling for it.

All these populist movements have been about one thing and one thing only, transfer of power and wealth from one small select few to another in one big global chess game.

Yet in all these countries where they have orchestrated or are orchestrating regime change there are two things in common. One that the country has oil or is geopolitically important in the movement of oil and two that they have no problem finding people they can manipulate with nationalist instincts and delusions of freedom.

  • Fred

You can argue all you want about where the hijackers came from.

There isn’t much doubt about where the financing came from.

  • karel

    fred,

just tell us where the financing came from so that we can learn more about the 9/11 conspiracy.

    Fedup,

you are probably wrong about Ata throwing his passport out of the window. I have tried to open windows during flight on various planes but strangely enough never quite succeded. After some deliberation I propose an entirely new hypotheis whereby Ata held his passport with his teeth to have it ready for inspection by security officials after a planned emergency landing.

  • karel

    Fedup,

after another glass of Château Cordet, I have realized that Atas head would have to first burrow through the nose of the airplane and then the entire tower structure to be able to release the passport (probably by then from a toothless mouth) at the other end. But every dentist will tell you that it is clearly impossible.

Hence, I want to come up with an entirely different hypothesis, which is naturally open to discussion and scrutiny. Especially sharp watch dogs like halibabacus are invited to join it. It must have been like that. Ata first rolled his passport then carefully inserted it into his anus but let only a small corner to stick out so that he can pull it out easily if asked to identify himself. After the crush, his body flew through the inferno that melted steel and golden teeth alike burning away most of its mass so that only his singed rectum emerged on the other side of the tower having by then the appearance of a carbon fibre structure found in most modern airplanes. After flying through the air for few more miles it finally hit the ground and burst into millions of soot like particles. Voilà, c’est fini, the passport remained undamaged except for the singed corner that ata deliberately let to stick out of his arsehole for matters of convenience.

You are quite the dickhead aren’t you Dougie? I have never made any suggestion that Iran is belligerent, nor that a change of demeanour is desired for appeasing Western demands. You and some of your friends here like to imagine sentiments, motives and agendas that do not exist so you can take to the stage and proclaim a superior character. In the real world, we call that having a “narcissistic personality disorder”. Try to get over yourself and kindly stop your mischievous campaign of misrepresenting commentators here.

    Clarification for the dimwitted :

I never said that Ahmadinejad stood for reelection and failed. I said he was thrown out – by whatever means I do not particularly care, although an election defeat would have been sweeter.

Ahmadinejad was a PR disaster for Iran. He looked like a hobo, spoke like a shonky union leader, entertained controversial and provocative subjects and gave US and UK mainstream media grist for their propagandist mills. Public perceptions of Iran are very limited, often focussed on contemporary news reports including the following –

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/09/21/ahmadinejad-holocaust-den_n_293083.html

As I stated over a month ago, this kind of image does not help Iran. For any war to be averted, Iran NEEDS ordinary people in the West to see it as benign and moderate, not hostile and extreme. The US and UK need a critical mass of public support to prosecute another nasty war and the likes of Ahmadinejad served their purpose. Once again, HOPEFULLY, this new president will be more constructive in his demeanour and not serve the American desire for a barking dog as head of Iran.

But as Habbabkuk wondered out loud, maybe some people here secretly hope for a war.

The war criminals have got their ‘no fly zone’. It cost $15m and it’s over Lough Erne. Drones, Chinooks and Merlins will be deployed.

    10 June 2013

Air exclusion zones will be imposed over parts of Northern Ireland as part of the massive G8 security operation.

    ‘Security cordon around summit site

Flight restrictions will be in place over Belfast from where world leaders such as US president Barack Obama and Russian leader Vladimir Putin will fly in and out.

An air corridor linking the city to Co Fermanagh and the skies over Lough Erne will also be off limits for three days from next Sunday.[..]

Army chinook and merlin helicopters which were once a common sight during Northern Ireland’s conflict will be used to escort the political premiers and their entourages to and from the summit at the luxury Lough Erne golf resort.

The exclusion zones will not affect scheduled flights into and out of the George Best Belfast City Airport and Belfast International Airport but passengers have been warned to expect significant traffic disruption because police checkpoints which will be set up on roads in the surrounding areas.

No-fly restrictions over Lough Erne will be put in place between 5pm and midnight from next Sunday to Tuesday. A ring of steel has also been erected around the five-star hotel and a seven-mile stretch of the lough has been shut as the stringent security measures step up.

The corridor route from Belfast to Enniskillen will be out of bounds between 7.30am and 3pm on Monday and from 1pm to midnight on Tuesday to facilitate the departure of the VIPs.

The same strict limits will also be in place over Belfast. Flying clubs and light aircraft pilots were warned they must adhere to the bans.

Surveillance drones will also be used to guard key sites in Northern Ireland and some properties such as Stormont’s Parliament Buildings have been given a 24/7 police presence to provide additional protection.

As suicide bombers in Israel generally leave their passports or ID cards near to the scene of their “martyrdom” so the authorities know who was responsible it’s not such a far fetched idea. I find the rest of your two posts considerably more plausible than most other conspiracy theories I’ve seen.

  • Flaming June

No irony, again. Obomber will visit the Waterfront Hall and speak about ‘peace’. The wife and daughters are along for the ride too and go on to the Republic.

‘While Barack Obama holds talks with other world leaders at the G8 summit in Northern Ireland, Mrs Obama and their children are due to visit the Republic’

    http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/local-national/northern-ireland/obama-to-speak-before-g8-summit-29347885.html

Obscenity – ‘One of many security signs in recent days has been the sight, and thunderous roar, of a fleet of eight enormous US military helicopters cruising in formation over Belfast and Fermanagh.’

Living in Northern Ireland at the moment must be like living in Afghanistan but without the Hellfire missiles.

I spotted Agent Cameron arriving in N Ireland being greeted by the NI Secretary Theresa Villiers with one of those stupid kisses on both sides of the face. She is an officer in the lobby group Conservative Friends of Israel, holds the seat for Chipping Barnet, N London and is an ex MEP.

Note her second home in London when her main home is a tube ride away Westminster.

  • KingofWelshNoir

Surely the real miracle of Ata’s passport was how it was found on top of the rubble? So it must have hung around in the air for an hour after the crash waiting for the towers to collapse, before landing on top.

I don’t believe a man in a cave could pull that off 🙂

  • Fred

“I never said that Ahmadinejad stood for reelection and failed. I said he was thrown out – by whatever means I do not particularly care, although an election defeat would have been sweeter.”

Iran is like America, they elect their Presidents for a four year term and they can only be re-elected once. He had done his eight years and had to stand down.

Large amounts of fossil fuel are being consumed as the war criminals descend from their jets and hop into helicopters for the journey to Enniskillen.

All the stenographers-to-power are already embedded at Lough Erne. If only the hot air they are producing could be converted into a propellant fuel.

    Last night. Jumpy or what?

Sonic boom heard in Essex, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire

“Loud explosions” heard across the east of England were caused by a sonic boom when a jet broke the sound barrier.

The noise, at 11:30 BST, caused shaking and smashed windows and prompted calls to police in Cambridgeshire, Essex and Hertfordshire.

The Ministry of Defence said a Typhoon jet from RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire was launched when communication was lost with a Heathrow-bound plane.

It is understood the plane, travelling from the USA, landed without incident.

Air traffic controllers had become concerned but communication was re-established with the passenger airliner and there were no problems on board.

Too true. Nor is there any doubt where the money financing the Syrian ‘rebels’ is coming from. The difference is that its all so in the open now — both the flow of money and the support for Al Qaeda their brothers-in-arms.

Thanks for the lesson in grown-up rational debate. I can’t wait for our next school debate. I may be academically challenged but I’m a fast learner and I reckon Edwina Ponsenby won’t have any logical answer for that kind of erud… erradi…clever technical terminology.
    .
As for the Appauling Ahmajinedad just read the words of his rant here to see the terrible way he threatened the Leader of the Free World.
    .
“If billions of dollars spent on security, military campaigns and troop movement were instead spent on investment and assistance for poor countries, promotion of health, combating different diseases, education and improvement of mental and physical fitness, assistance to the victims of natural disasters, creation of employment opportunities and production, development projects and poverty alleviation, establishment of peace, mediation between disputing states and distinguishing the flames of racial, ethnic and other conflicts were would the world be today? Would not your government, and people be justifiably proud? Would not your administration’s political and economic standing have been stronger? And I am most sorry to say, would there have been an ever increasing global hatred of the American governments?
Mr President, it is not my intention to distress anyone.
If prophet Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Ishmael, Joseph or Jesus Christ (PBUH) were with us today, how would they have judged such behaviour? Will we be given a role to play in the promised world, where justice will become universal and Jesus Christ (PBUH) will be present? Will they even accept us?
My basic question is this : Is there no better way to interact with the rest of the world?”

The BBC are employing this Zionist supporter to comment on the shenanigans in Belfast.

‘Professor Lord Paul Bew, one of the best-known commentators on Northern Ireland, spoke (listen below) about Ireland and the similarities, or lack thereof, with Israel/Palestine. He made the point that the level of hatred between Catholics and Protestants was no where near the same level as that involved in Israel/Palestine.

Importantly, he spoke of the basic framework within which the peace process took place, one of the main aspects of which was renunciation of violence. Although breaches of the framework regularly took place all sides worked towards that goal.

There is no such framework in the Middle East where Hamas is fully committed to violence and the destruction of Israel.

As to continuing brainwashing of Palestinian children he pointed out that even now in Irish schools in America the schoolchildren are having the Troubles in Northern Ireland put on a par with the Holocaust. He couldn’t say what effect this might have for the future.

No you’re not sorry at all. You do write a lot of rubbish don’t you. The weird thing is that you think its funny! I think the standard here would be — do you want Craig to read all this nonsense. Its his blog. Respect it if you have respect for him. As for Jon, do you expect him to be ploughing through all this nonsense. By my observations, you have little to contribute to humanity — change that.
