The Respectability of Torture
St Mary’s University College, Thurs 1st August, 7.30pm
Craig Murray, former British ambassador to Uzbekistan, was a whistleblower who was removed from his ambassadorial post by Tony Blair for exposing the Tashkent regime‟s use of rape and systematic torture, including the boiling to death of political opponents. He has also spoken out against Central Asia‟s appalling dictatorships, regimes which are allies of the West, involved in torture and rendition, and was accused of threatening MI6‟s relationship with the CIA. Now a human rights activist, author and broadcaster, he outlines the dynamics of torture and the hypocrisy of incriminated Western governments.
My first public appearance for a while will be in Belfast on 1 August where I shall be giving a talk. Long term readers of this blog will recall that, while my focus is largely on international affairs, the domestic political achievements I most hope to see are a united Ireland and an independent Scotland.
The Mass Sleep Out

Pattie came up with some links to a Japanese site with Fukushima data that hadn’t been posted before as far as I can see. Pattie posted the Google Translate links directly to enenews in the commnts. That’s what got her initial “credibility”. All the second sun stuff came much later.

Have you seen that level of casualties, or have you seen like myself, that they were relatively light for the measure of the ordnance?
Dre; I have been following a reporter for San Diego (ca) TV news (6) who a couple weeks back related through a source, that Michael Hastings cremated remains (without family permission) had been returned. The supposed source came forward saying he made no such statement. She has been unresponsive to requests for clarification, and continues to publish unsubstantiated stories.

Dreolin at 12.45 am. My guess is that a bad link was found to a Channel 4 programme. This was used to create the spoof report (which I think it might be) and not actually written by Jon Snow. The chemical weapon response is something no government would admit to, so I’m going for Spoof. But like I say Apols if I’m wrong.

I had seen the video, Ben, and argument underneath about whether it was nuclear or not. I hadn’t seen any reference to casualties.
