InfoWars goes too far in claiming drugs cause homicides in any particular case, but they’re correct in saying, in the US, it’s verboten to discuss the possibility they’re a contributing factor on commercial TV or in print media, because those derive so much revenue from Big Pharma ads. Approx. two-thirds of ads on news shows are for prescription drugs.
It’s not forbidden, but seldom done, to raise any connection between real world violence and movie violence. Not that current films are advertised on news shows, but the movie studios and networks are co-owned, plus movies advertise heavily on other network shows attracting a younger audience.
Mention of violent video games is OK; presumably those don’t generate sufficient ad $$$ yet.
