I had fairly well concluded that the most likely cause was a fire disrupting the electrical and control systems, when CNN now say the sharp left turn was pre-programmed 12 minutes before sign off from Malaysian Air Traffic control, which was followed fairly quickly by that left turn.
CNN claim to have this from an US official, from data sent back before the reporting systems went off. It is hard to know what to make of it: obviously there are large economic interests that much prefer blame to lie with the pilots rather than the aircraft. But if it is true then the move was not a response to an emergency. (CNN went on to say the pilot could have programmed in the course change as a contingency in case of an emergency. That made no sense to me at all – does it to anyone else?)
I still find it extremely unlikely that the plane landed or crashed on land I cannot believe it could evade military detection as it flew over a highly militarized region. Somewhere there is debris on the ocean. There have been previous pilot suicides that took the plane with them; but the long detour first seems very strange and I do not believe is precedented. However if the CNN information on pre-programming is correct, and given it was the co-pilot who signed off to air traffic control, it is hard to look beyond the pilots as those responsible for whatever did happen. In fact, on consideration, the most improbable thing is that information CNN are reporting from the US official.
Two men have been named as having died in the Helicopter that took off from Dechmont, Scotland.
One from Essex and one from Kent.

The Air Alliance Antonov that flew from Prestwick and crashed at Tamanrasset is now known about on Wikipaedia but not by the Scottish Press, English Press or the BBC?
Strange
These were used in the Sahel, and now in Iraq on ISIS:

Still no answer from The French why this Algerian aircraft crashed in Mali,
with all dead, including 50 French Military and Intelligence personel on board.
Still nothing to come out about the Antonov flying from Prestwick Scotland that Crashed adjacent to Tamanrasset, three weeks ago this morning.
Who has the blck boxes, who has the bodies?

Well, well well.
Alex Wellman has reported that the Antonov went down near Tamanrasset,
for the Mirror.
However he did not quote Flight UKL4061 nor the fact that this Ukraine aircraft left from Prestwick, in Scotland.
It is now three weeks since this Antonov, apparently crashed.
Where are the Black Boxes, what has happened to the corpses.
Perhaps The Mirror might investigate?
I have sent an email to Mr.Wellman at the Mirror,
asking if the black boxes are being decoded in Farnborough?

The Bay of Bengal still hasn’t been searched, has it? Meanwhile, GeoResonance has moved on to other things:
http://georesonance.com/20140914%20Press%20Release.pdf
I’ve been following the “Not Forgetting the al-Hillis” thread on Craig’s site for two years. This may be why I’m intrigued about satellites and the space programs in the Bay of Bengal. India recently succeeded in sending a satellite into orbit around Mars. Is this part of the reason Bangladesh and the international search team for MH370 continuing to ignore GeoResonance’s claims about a plane in the Bay of Bengal?

Saad al-Hilli was connected to the statellite company SSTL, which launches satellites from French Guiana. French Guiana is known to host the French Foreign Legion. A French Foreign Legion member committed suicide earlier this year, after being questioned in the al-Hilli murders.
Do the governments of Malaysia, India and others KNOW something went wrong in the Bay of Bengal related to satellites, and could this be the reason for refusing to listen to anything but their own, predetermined answer?
It sure would be interesting to know if the International Space Station passed over the area in the days before, of and after the disappearance. Look at the images captured previously:
http://www.indiatvnews.com/print/news/dont-miss-20-spectacular-images-india-space–29839-1.html
Mind you, satellites are capable of this sort of imagery, too.
There have been accidents with launches from Sriharikota before:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1341521/Boom-Indian-space-scientists-watch-horror-rocket-explodes-minutes-off.html
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-south-asia-12107035
What was going on at Sriharikota in March 2014?
Similarities between the island of Sriharikota and French Guiana:
http://www.quora.com/Why-did-ISRO-choose-Sriharikota-as-a-launching-point-What-are-the-factors-affecting-the-place-of-launch
Satellites launched from Sriharikota take advantage of the earth’s rotation for lift. Satellites are launched eastward, so the launch pad is west of where the satellite is heading. So satellites head eastward. MH370 was somewhere east of Sirharikota. There’s not much to go on, but we don’t have much to go on.
Is this “our” Duncan Steel, who has worked for NASA?

Q
are you perhaps thinking that MH370 could have been impacted by a satellite launch?
Boeing Dreamliner diverted over the Atlantic Ocean to Glasgow
on route from Chicago to Warsaw.
http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/news/u/dreamliner-forced-to-make-emergency-landing-at-glasgow-airport.1411727310
Strange though it wasn’t diverted to Prestwick.
Prestwick is the default diversion airport,
must be a shout on at Prestwick?
This is what I’m thinking, Michael Norton:

The satellite’s 2000-nautical-mile footprint likely covered the flight path of MH370. Its range goes up to the Strait of Malacca. Wiki says that India will no longer have to rely on Inmarsat.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GSAT-7
So why on earth are we only hearing about Inmarsat data in relation to the disappearance of MH370? Rukmini has been in operation since September 8, 2013. Six months to the day later, MH370 vanished.
For followers of the al-Hilli thread, Rukmini was not launched from Sriharikota, but from French Guiana, via a French Ariane V rocket. Airbus Defence and Space, al-Hilli followers:

Q That is the correct Duncan Steel , he has also done an update .
http://www.duncansteel.com/archives/date/2014/09/26
What reason could there be to divert a Boeing Dreamliner to Glasgow but not Prestwick,
when Prestwick is the default airport for diversions?
Was something going on at Prestwick and they didn’t want any media attention?
Very interesting analysis of available facts on MH17.
“The picture of entry and exit holes in the cockpit area (control cabin) of the Boeing 777 fully corresponds to the assumption that it was caused by being shot through by approximately 20-30mm rounds from a fighter cannon. This supports the second version of the crash. The same can be said about the nature of fragment distribution over the fuselage of the plane. From the left side the edges of fragments of the control cabin fuselage are rolled up from inside to outside, which points at significant damage inside the cabin as a result of dynamic pressure of missiles over its right side.
There are characteristic entrance holes and several exit holes visible on the fuselage. The edges of the holes are bent inwards, they are much smaller and are round-shaped. Exit holes are less precisely shaped, and their edges are bent outwards. Additionally, it is visible that the exit holes pierced the aluminum covering twice and bent it outwards. I.e., the striking elements (judging by the impact type, aircraft missile rounds) broke through the cockpit. Open rivets were also bent outwards.
Boeing 777 fragment Fuselage damage is clearly visible – break through holes, caused by a 20- to 30-mm cannon.
Distinctive inward bends of the fuselage indicate a cannon round impact.

I have just read that through.
Utterly shocking.
I always thought MH17 was shot down by a Kiev Regime fighter plane.
@Pink: I still cannot understand why none of the investigators have used India’s Rukmini satellite data. The satellite had been fully operational for exactly six months when MH370 vanished. Rukmini’s range covers the Strait of Malacca. So why?
Rukmini was proven effective in Tropex 2014:

Does India know something the rest of the world wants to ignore? This is the elephant in the room.

@Pink: The comments section shows that the people have little faith in the so-called investigation at this point.
It is tricky though when you have the world and his wife coming up with their version of events ,I think once the IG got noticed they probably have kept on an eye on their calculations,it would seem silly not to I hope they get a result and find the plane .
There is a snippet on pprune from a Times story that is behind a paywall if anyone can get it .

I noticed this in the comments at plane talking:
“The police discovered eighteen bullion on board an Airbus A340 of Air MAD, five hours before takeoff to Guangzhou. The gold was hidden under the seats of the members of the crew.
A guest traffic was taken against the foot at Ivato International Airport yesterday. At around 11:30 am, five hours before the flight took off MD 010 to Guangzhou, China, eighteen gold bars weighing twenty pounds, were found on board the Airbus 340 of Air Madagascar. This incredible amount of gold was hidden under the seats in the cabin rest aircrew.”

I hope the Algerian authorities find those BLACK BOXES SOON
don’t they give off a bleep or something?
Algerian investigators were still looking Sunday for the black boxes of a Ukrainian plane that crashed in the Algerian Sahara killing seven people, said Transport Minister Amar Ghoul, quoted Sunday by the APS agency.
“Search operations of the two black boxes are continuing with the cooperation of all services and sectors, to determine the actual circumstances of this aerial disaster,” said Mr. Ghoul who visited Saturday the scene of the crash.
The aircraft, an Antonov 12 of the Ukraine Air Alliance company, was carrying oil equipment from Glasgow airport to Malabo (Equatorial Guinea), scoring several technical stops, including two in Algeria, Ghardaia (600 km south of Algiers) and Tamanrasset (2000 km south of Algiers).
It’s just after takeoff at the night from Friday to Saturday in Tamanrasset, a town at 1,400 meters above sea level surrounded by mountain peak of more than 3,000 m that it crashed.
The minister said that the devise “has lost contact with the control tower of Tamanrasset three minutes after takeoff.”
