I had fairly well concluded that the most likely cause was a fire disrupting the electrical and control systems, when CNN now say the sharp left turn was pre-programmed 12 minutes before sign off from Malaysian Air Traffic control, which was followed fairly quickly by that left turn.
CNN claim to have this from an US official, from data sent back before the reporting systems went off. It is hard to know what to make of it: obviously there are large economic interests that much prefer blame to lie with the pilots rather than the aircraft. But if it is true then the move was not a response to an emergency. (CNN went on to say the pilot could have programmed in the course change as a contingency in case of an emergency. That made no sense to me at all – does it to anyone else?)
I still find it extremely unlikely that the plane landed or crashed on land I cannot believe it could evade military detection as it flew over a highly militarized region. Somewhere there is debris on the ocean. There have been previous pilot suicides that took the plane with them; but the long detour first seems very strange and I do not believe is precedented. However if the CNN information on pre-programming is correct, and given it was the co-pilot who signed off to air traffic control, it is hard to look beyond the pilots as those responsible for whatever did happen. In fact, on consideration, the most improbable thing is that information CNN are reporting from the US official.
French co-pilot found strapped to his seat. What kind of game was this, as the a/c was diving into the Java sea?

Another disappearing pilot.

Unless the whole flight was remote controlled (could explain many things like for 9/11 and Kennedy).
When was the last post on this thread by Pilote-James?
Software issues have been a problem in the past with Airbus:

And the Pitot tubes, of course:
http://www.aviationtoday.com/regions/sa/More-Pitot-Tube-Incidents-Revealed_72414.html#.VNuZIi7QM-g
all these disapeared aircraft,
yet no one has come to a conclusion what happened?
Where do you think Mr Pitot came from? FRANCE!!!
No wonder his tubes never work. And that’s why planes disappear all the time.
I can’t remember who but on BBC1 Question time, last evening,
one of the panel stated that it was definitely “The Russians” who ordered the shooting down of MH17, nobody questioned, that statement.
I’d appreciate if you could refrain from mentioning MH17 so often, because it’s the single case where I find it hard to prove any guilt from the FRENCH.
But I’m working on it.
I’d love to know if anybody found out what happened to this aircraft and crew & cargo?

UR-DWF
Flightnumber: UKL4012
Narrative:
An Antonov 12BK transport plane, registered UR-DWF, was destroyed in an accident near Tamanrasset Airport (TMR), Algeria. All seven crew members sustained fatal injuries.
The airplane departed Glasgow-Prestwick Airport (PIK), United Kingdom on August 29 as flight UKL4012, carrying oil equipment to Malabo (SSG), Equatorial Guinea. Technical stops included Ghardaïa (GHA), Tamanrasset and Bamako, Mali.
The An-12 crashed in a mountainous area south of Tamanrasset Airport, three minutes after takeoff.
So half a year has passed since this Antonov from Kiev, departed Glasgow-Prestwick
for E-G
yet no mention yet in the Scottish press or the BBC
a bit strange.
What is also strange is seven crew-no passengers?
If it departed from Glasgow and crashed three minutes after take-off close to Tamanrasset, I would assume it must be some UFO from another galaxy.
No, that’s just silly.
It hails from Kiev.
It takes off from Glasgow-Prestwick ( clue) it flies over Algeria, it takes orf from Tamanrasset, it crashes a few moments later.
no back story and no BBC mention and no story of why it crashed, so all in all a bit of a mystery?
An Ukrainian cargo plane crashed on Saturday at around 1:40 GMT in the province of Tamenrasset, in the extreme south of Algeria, while no survival was found by rescue teams, local media reported.
Citing a statement of the Transport Ministry, the state-run television said the Antonov-12 type jet which carried seven passengers including crew team crashed in a mountainous area 15 km southern of Tamenrasset airport, where it performed technical stop.
The statement said contact with the plane was lost three minutes after it took off from the airport of Tamenrasset.
Rescue teams were rushed to the spot of the crash but no survival was found so far.
The plane belongs to Ukraine Alliance, and carried equipment used in energy industry, the statement added.
It came from Ukraine and headed to Equatorial Guinea via Glasgow (UK), as it performed several stops, including in Ghardaia and Tamenrasset in southern Algeria.
The Transport Ministry said it established an emergency unit to investigate the crash.

I still think this STINKS
But then, Algeria is a former FRENCH colony, yes or no?
YES
and it is where the French tested Nuclear Bombs against the will of most of the locals.
Tamanrasset is a command centre for six nations fighting Islamists, too.

Pink,
that looks interesting.
Old chestnuts. We already knew that plane didn’t go to Diego Garcia.
Will Australia ever recover remnants of the crash? Not if they rely on French experts to help them search the ocean. Stinky cheese lovers!
The body of a British man who died when an AirAsia flight crashed in the Java Sea in December has been found, according to the Foreign Office.

Choi Chi-Man? Terrible Hull loss.
And now, to something completely different.
Following the recent terrorist attack in Copenhagen, the FRENCH home secretary, Mr Cazeneuve, is flying directly, even as we post, from Morocco where he was on holiday to Denmark, to express the sympathy of the FRENCH people. He’s obviously flying a FRENCH private jet.
Shall we soon have another case of ‘disappearing aircraft’?

Air France jet with almost 300 on board lands in central Russia after engine failure
The passenger Boeing-737 of Air France carrier has landed safely in Yekaterinburg, Ural District, after one of the plane’s two engines failed, strategic communications director of the local ‘Koltsovo’ airport told TASS news agency. Currently, the next steps for the flight are being decided. The Boeing was heading from Seoul to Paris, and there are 290 people on board.
The FRENCH are crazy: how can you fly a 737 from Seoul to Paris to begin with?
Have you often been flying? With 290 on board?
I would say, it’s a LARGE 737. You’re quite a joke!
The jets that hit the twin towers on 9/11 had 2000 passengers each, ask VT.

It has now morphed into a 777
but still they do not give the aircraft number?
There would seem to be three makes of engine for this aircraft?
