I had fairly well concluded that the most likely cause was a fire disrupting the electrical and control systems, when CNN now say the sharp left turn was pre-programmed 12 minutes before sign off from Malaysian Air Traffic control, which was followed fairly quickly by that left turn.
CNN claim to have this from an US official, from data sent back before the reporting systems went off. It is hard to know what to make of it: obviously there are large economic interests that much prefer blame to lie with the pilots rather than the aircraft. But if it is true then the move was not a response to an emergency. (CNN went on to say the pilot could have programmed in the course change as a contingency in case of an emergency. That made no sense to me at all – does it to anyone else?)
I still find it extremely unlikely that the plane landed or crashed on land I cannot believe it could evade military detection as it flew over a highly militarized region. Somewhere there is debris on the ocean. There have been previous pilot suicides that took the plane with them; but the long detour first seems very strange and I do not believe is precedented. However if the CNN information on pre-programming is correct, and given it was the co-pilot who signed off to air traffic control, it is hard to look beyond the pilots as those responsible for whatever did happen. In fact, on consideration, the most improbable thing is that information CNN are reporting from the US official.
Have The French found the other black box gubbins yet?
So is the latest conspiracy the lack of psychiatric screenig for professional pilots?
Remembering that Colonel Russell Williams was a professional military pilot, taking multiple medications for reasons unknown, according to his friend. He had a sideline as a B&E artiste, stalker, rapist and murderer.
More Airbus A320 troubles

@Q Someone is making a case for Geo r at last it’s got buried under the latest crash thread.

@MN: There won’t be any hasty disclosures from the TSB. Sometimes investigations take years.
As for the Germanwings crash, a cynical comment on one website said that if the copilot’s retinas weren’t detached before, they are now. The reading public seems to have lost faith in any kind of objective investigation. Maybe it’s crash fatigue.
@Pink: Thanks!
Haven’t we heard it all before: a smear of a dead copilot, no witnesses alive from the crash, recordings that no one but the inner sanctum has heard? Can we expect to hear strangely edited versions of the voice data in the near future? And how about the multiple Mirages that seem to be on no one’s radar now that the focus has successfully shifted to a copilot whose reputation is the only item of interest. Tunnel vision isn’t just about psychosomatic detached retinas. Could anyone see a mirage if one or both of their retinas were detached while flying a commercial airline? What is the electronic warfare capability of the Mirage? And how does a memory stick get removed from a flight data recorder…at the time of periodic inspections? Too bad. The newer ones can hold data from about 25 hours of flying, so information about previous flights would be revealed. Now we’ll never know if there was a problem with the plane, like a faulty lockout for the flight deck door, or maliciously-installed software. Maintenance logs might still be useful in this regard, but instead the copilot’s double detached (alleged) retinas (psychosomatic, so may not show on eye exams) and broken relationship with pregnant girlfriend (alleged) with whom he cheated (again alleged) become the focus. Whoever is writing this stuff must have gone the soap opera scriptwriting school and failed. It’s gone too far beyond the realm of credibility. Can you see a mirage with double detached (psychosomatic) retinas? Do retinas become detached psychosomatically in the marathon runner?

The 911 pilotscalso trained in America. Let’s run with that. Sounds credible enough to build a case, don’t you think?
http://m.imdb.com/title/tt0074860/
Marathon man references cropped up with the “kinky colonel” Russell Williams. Maybe a part of things to come with Germanwings?
Sex scandals were part of the MH370 buzz, so perhaps this will happen with Germanwings, too.
Anything else? Did he run in the Boston Marathon?
Whatever you do, don’t look at the plane. Don’t ask questions about the Mirage.
Ever heard of “inadvertant jamming”?

Don’t look at Liberty or Stark, and don’t look here.
Witnesses to the Mirage jets have already made statements published in international media re: Germanwings crash.

@Q Its says here the jet was dispatched .
“Ms Royal confirmed this morning that, soon after 10.30am, when the pilots had stopped responding by radio, the French military scrambled a Mirage jet fighter to investigate. This aircraft was seen by eye-witnesses following the doomed airliner as it skimmed the Alpine ridges before crashing into a sheer mountain-side. The pilot of the Mirage could, therefore, also possess crucial information on the Germanwings aircraft’s behaviour.”

It’s a good thing that we know the descent took 18 minutes. Presumably, this was more than enough time to scramble the Mirage jets, and sufficient time to fly to the scene. The tradeoff is that the passengers’ final minutes of terror were protracted.
It’s important to extinguish any possibility that this crash involved persons outside the cockpit of the Germanwings, unintentional or not.

By coincidence, parts of Wagner operas were performed by the Mariinsky under conductor Gergiev, in Spain and France this month. By coincidence, Oleg Bryjak performed with the Mariinsky before moving to Germany with his family. His last performance was in Siegfried, a Wagner opera. The two were not in the same place on March 23 or March 24, 2015. The connection to the Mariinsky is found in Bryjak’s French wiki, but not the English version.
Here are Bryjak’s wiki, with links to Russian articles about his death:

Meanwhile, a crash gets rescripted as a “hard landing”.

France is sending investigators to the scene. Busy times for the French. Presumably they’re Airbus representatives.
Airbus A320
seems to feature a lot lately in these incidents, yet we are told it is the reliable workhorse of the industry.
So, other than crashing,
does anything link the A320 incidents?
A320 Canada hard landing
Quote
“This was not a hard landing. This was an actual crash,” said Mike Magnus, a 60-year-old businessman who was sitting in the first row. “It was the closest I’ve ever come to death. There is no doubt in my mind. Obviously that’s some political maneuvering.”

so definately a CRASH
The Karlheinz Schreiber affair, involving brown envelopes full of cash and the former PM Brian Mulroney, still sticks in the memories of many Canadians, MN. Schreiber is also known for taking down Helmut Kohl of Germany. There’s a much more recent Airbus corruption fiasco ongoing in Germany, too. For many people,”corruption” and “Airbus” is the issue, as the passenger in this weekend’s Halifax crash has so eloquently expressed. Buying or attempting to buy Prime Ministers does not earn the trust of the voting public. Airbus planes won out over Boeing aircraft at Air Canada after the Schreiber “moneybags” affair. Airbus had an image problem before. Airbus made enemies. Political maneuvering or blaming the pilots: only time will tell, once the federal government transportation board investigationare complete. Airbus is helping investigate itself, alongside government officials of a country it tried to influence with cash. Does anyone have a problem with that?
All these A320 Airbus are FRENCH made, that’s why.
Nose cone missing, landing gear missing, engine that fell off, airpirt antenna array that came through the floor near a passenger, missing the runway by a long shot…leaving the passengers in the freezing cold of a blizzard for an hour (they didn’t seem to be a priority)…yep, it’s no wonder those who lived through it see through the soft sell of a “hard landing”.
Air Canada is a federal Crown corporation, MN. Some wondered if the airline is really operating at arm’s length, after the Airbus payola scandal.
Can anyone tell me about the discount airline industry practice of blacklisting pilots? Is this having an impact on the recent
incidents, crashes and disappearing aircraft? I don’t know if this goes on at non-discount airlines, or at non-discount airlines whose chief executives previously served at discount airlines.
Was the German co-pilot on a blacklist that would have prevented his career advancement? He certainly has an incredible array of alleged problems presented as fact. It almost seems like a grand character smear of epic proportions. Whatever.
http://www.bbc.com/news/business-29683715
Is this what was meant by the comments that Lubitz feared he would never become a long-haul pilot? Was he on a blacklist, either with his employer or the airline pilots’ union for crossing the picket line? Did he hold grudges against the airline, the union, or a specific person for this reason?
The character smear seems very important, although it is going off in all directions: he was gay/not gay, but cheating on a pregnant ex/not ex who had left him/not left him, but who he was going to marry after giving/not giving her an Audi. She is a high school teacher, and teachers and high school students were on the plane. And his retina(s) had become detached psychosomatically/not. He had a pile of drugs, but he refused to take them, because he was not being treated for a psychological problem.
Maybe more than one side is behind this, which is how it has become so over-the-top in its ridiculousness. I feel sorry for his family.
