I had fairly well concluded that the most likely cause was a fire disrupting the electrical and control systems, when CNN now say the sharp left turn was pre-programmed 12 minutes before sign off from Malaysian Air Traffic control, which was followed fairly quickly by that left turn.
CNN claim to have this from an US official, from data sent back before the reporting systems went off. It is hard to know what to make of it: obviously there are large economic interests that much prefer blame to lie with the pilots rather than the aircraft. But if it is true then the move was not a response to an emergency. (CNN went on to say the pilot could have programmed in the course change as a contingency in case of an emergency. That made no sense to me at all – does it to anyone else?)
I still find it extremely unlikely that the plane landed or crashed on land I cannot believe it could evade military detection as it flew over a highly militarized region. Somewhere there is debris on the ocean. There have been previous pilot suicides that took the plane with them; but the long detour first seems very strange and I do not believe is precedented. However if the CNN information on pre-programming is correct, and given it was the co-pilot who signed off to air traffic control, it is hard to look beyond the pilots as those responsible for whatever did happen. In fact, on consideration, the most improbable thing is that information CNN are reporting from the US official.
A team of 217 nuclear and biochemical materials specialists from the Chinese military began work at the site on Thursday, the official Xinhua news agency said.

why would the CHINESE need NUCLEAR specialists at the eXplosion?

“Many types of different materials with different characteristics are mixed together and could at any time result in a chemical reaction or explosion.”
A team from the International ATOMIC Energy Agency’s Beijing environmental emergency response centre, as well as 214 CHINESE MILITARY NUCLEAR and biochemical materials specialists,
are in Tianjin to investigate the cause of the blast and establish whether it has spread
toxic gas in the city.

I wonder if AIRBUS is the connection

AZF eXplosion Toulouse FRANCE 21/09/2001
AZF (French initialism for AZote Fertilisant, i.e. nitrogen fertiliser) was the name of a chemical factory in Toulouse, France, which exploded on 21 September 2001. The blast was equivalent to 20-40 tons of TNT, measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale, and was heard 80 km away (50 miles). The explosion caused 29 deaths, with 2,500 wounded, around 30 of them heavily. Damages already paid by insurance exceed 1.5 billion euros.
Although authorities were initially confident it was an accident, an Environment Minister later concluded the explosion could have been “a terrorist attack” in the wake of the September 11 attacks. The body of a worker with Islamic fundamentalist sympathies was found in the blast and investigated. An official enquiry found the blast to be accidental. In Spring 2004, a terrorist group adopted the same name and threatened the French government with bombings on railways.
TOULOUSE 2001 eXplosion
On 4 October 2001, France’s then Environment Minister Yves Cochet announced that the explosion “may have been a terrorist attack” (the explosion occurred in the weeks following the September 11 attacks) and identified Hassan Jandoubi, a plant sub-contractor killed in the blast, as a person under investigation. French anti terrorist authorities were prohibited by the Toulouse prosecutor from searching Jandoubi’s house for five days after the incident.[4]
Police declared that Jandoubi had “possible Islamic fundamentalist sympathies,” yet by the time the search was finally conducted, they alleged that Jandoubi’s girlfriend had disposed of all traces of his clothes or photos. French authorities described the delay as damaging to the investigation.

when the body was found he was wearing multiple undergarments and two pairs of trousers, after the manner of suicide bombers,
also the colour of the eyes of the corpse had changed from brown to blue.
I have not prevoiously heard of this massive eXplosion in Toulouse,
funny about the AIRBUS possible connection?
Etheopian stows in cargoe hold of aircraft to seel asylam in SWEDEN.

Question:
if there are lots of aircraft dropping out of the skies for reasons not known to the public, why are stow aways let onto aircraft, the other week one fell off an aicraft into a premises in Richmond.
If a person can get into an aircraft hold then so can eXplosives?
Boeing produces composite (i.e. plastic) airplane parts in Tianjin in a joint venture with the Chinese. Tianjin is known for its the aerospace industry, including satellites. Which Boeing 777 parts come out of China?
We know that Hexcel, as in floating flaperons, is produced in Malaysia. That’s interesting.

Nacelle fittings are part of the engine housing, also produced in Malaysia for Boeing.
The reference to cyanide followed reports in the People’s Daily that 700 tonnes of sodium cyanide were at the Tianjin site. Ammonium nitrate may also have been present.
Officials have only confirmed that calcium carbide, potassium nitrate and sodium nitrate were at the warehouse.

State media said the manager of the Ruihai Logistics site had been detained.
In its new directive, the State Council “urged governments at all levels to learn bitter lessons from the two massive blasts and to crack down unwaveringly on illegal activities to ensure safety”.
“The lessons are extremely profound,” it said.
Honeycomb Hexcel for Boeing 777 elevator and rudder cores also comes from Malaysia.

I wonder if the CHINESE were storing LITHIUM?
I believe they use a lot of Lithium in CHINA
Good points here:
https://mobile.twitter.com/radiantphysics
If the hole plane sank as one, then how did the flaperons float if it was filled with water?
Me: It can’t float if it sank while still attached to the plane. After more than a year under the water, even Hexcel honeycombs would be saturated. And why would the barnacles only be six weeks in size, as some experts have said?
Just as important, if MH370 sank whole, where is it? Wphy the false reports about Australia finding debris that may be MH370, when the opposite is true? They have found nothing. At all.
Hexcel/Boeing has a factory in Malaysia that produces Boeing 777 parts. Why not ask them?
Jeff Wise and the barnacle-whisperer:

About the lithium, MN. Of course, Tianjin has a number of lithium battery companies and the university is conducting experiments in this field.
http://www.hindawi.com/journals/jnm/2014/974285/
Reminds me of that graphene issue we were talking about over in the al-Hilli thread. It’s straight out of sci-fi with high-tech uses as a cloaking device. Maybe China is moving too fast in defence research.
Anyways, it would be helpful to know if those lithium batteries on MH370 were no ordinary lithium ion batteries. After all, shipping lithium ion batteries to China seems as sensible as shipping feta cheese to Greece.
When Aviation Composites Malaysia (ACM) teamed up with Boeing to manufacture flight surfaces, did one of those flight surfaces manufactured in Malaysia end up on 9M-MRO/MH370, and was one of those flight surfaces the flaperon found on shore in Reunion? Someone on Jeff Wise believes all used Boeing parts are returned to Boeing. If true, which Boeing plant or which joint venture in which non/democracy would that be? Anything returned to a Malaysian company begs the question of Malaysia’s government interference and corruption. Anything returned to Tianjin could be a problem. Where in the city is Boeing: too close to the explosion site and nothing may be left.

CHINA orders evacuation of residents within two-mile radius of Tianjin blast site as police confirm area is contaminated with deadly CYANIDE
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3199058/China-orders-evacuation-residents-two-mile-radius-Tianjin-blast-site-police-confirm-area-contaminated-deadly-CYANIDE.html
Yes, like we said, several days ago, 700 tons of the stuff.
Smacks of Chernobyl
why not evacuate the residents in the first hours?
Why store such dangerous substances in such quantities so near where people live?
both good questions,
anyone got the answers?
The AIRBUS factory seems to be about three Kilometres from the blast zone.
The Port fire station is bang on the eXplosion epicentre.
So, the AIRBUS assembly plant, to the South East of Tianjin/Binhai Airport,
is probably, just outside of the new exclusion zone.
CHINESE Officials have so far insisted that air and water quality levels are safe.

death toll now said to be more than 100.
The port fire station was only about one hundred metres from the main blast
MN, I believe the death toll from Tianjin is underestimated. With all those lives lost, many of whom were likely highly-skilled technicians, with so many people dispersed, industry will take some time to recover. Economic impact will be high.
Much has been said on C-forums about the devaluation of the yuan three days in a row leading up to this tragedy. But is it about money, China’s growing military technology and power, greed that led to risky shortcuts, or sheer incompetence?
Apparently 8,000 brand new cars have burnt out.
The force of the eXplosion was so massive, it could be seen from space,
surely
you could not legally store explsive materials so close to human habitation, surely the port fire station would not countenance it

I wonder the eXplosion adjacent to the port fire station in Binhai,Tianjin, CHINA,
could it have occurred because of the seventieth year after VJ

it would now be within the eXclusion zone, so MASSIVE economic repercussions
