I had fairly well concluded that the most likely cause was a fire disrupting the electrical and control systems, when CNN now say the sharp left turn was pre-programmed 12 minutes before sign off from Malaysian Air Traffic control, which was followed fairly quickly by that left turn.
CNN claim to have this from an US official, from data sent back before the reporting systems went off. It is hard to know what to make of it: obviously there are large economic interests that much prefer blame to lie with the pilots rather than the aircraft. But if it is true then the move was not a response to an emergency. (CNN went on to say the pilot could have programmed in the course change as a contingency in case of an emergency. That made no sense to me at all – does it to anyone else?)
I still find it extremely unlikely that the plane landed or crashed on land I cannot believe it could evade military detection as it flew over a highly militarized region. Somewhere there is debris on the ocean. There have been previous pilot suicides that took the plane with them; but the long detour first seems very strange and I do not believe is precedented. However if the CNN information on pre-programming is correct, and given it was the co-pilot who signed off to air traffic control, it is hard to look beyond the pilots as those responsible for whatever did happen. In fact, on consideration, the most improbable thing is that information CNN are reporting from the US official.
The thing that surprised me with this was people stood there filming it I would have assumed it was an attack not a ufo and been taking cover pronto 🙂
Welcome to the smartphone era, Pink! Duck for cover or film it for Youtube?
So back to the same old question. How is it possible in this day and age that no one, but  :one: caught the downing of MH370 on their phones? All the stories of flaming planes in the sky and  :one: bothered to Youtube it. Unreal!
Must have been a death ray, then!
MH370 mystery does not seem to be getting any clearer people have made their various stands on what they think may have happened and I have not really been swayed to any particular theory, my keep it simple self thinks its probably crashed somewhere and my initial reaction was shot down due to flying to close to maldives and its prestigious customers the lack of debris seems to be against either.
I suppose next favourite would be hijacked and flown somewhere would be quite a feat to pull off though its best I stick to the day job I am not a natural sleuth.
The whole spoof idea is intriguing it shows a sophistication that might work if you wanted to pinch a plane and there are a few bits I have seen that make me think it could have happened I am not qualified to judge though when it comes to finer detail .
The storms of solar plasma can be the key to decipher the fate of flight MH370, disappeared in March 2014, the effects on the electrical system and the fuselage of the aircraft, told Efe the mathematician Eduardo Cuitiño…..

Tim Clark was speaking out on the latest incident involving the Russian plane.
Now the Russians have brought in the Americans to investigate. Non-functioning baggage scanners and poorly-trained personnel at the scanners are now being discussed. Sounds like terrorism is being considered.

At the annual airshow in Dubai, Airbus officials say the company is confident in the safety of its A321 aircraft, including the plane that crashed in Egypt.
Airbus Chief Operating Officer for Customers John Leahy told reporters on Monday that he is “very confident in the A321’s safety record and the safety of the design.”
Vice President of Communications at Airbus Stefan Schaffrath rejected suggestions the aircraft itself was faulty.
The passenger jet, operated by Russia’s Metrojet, crashed on Oct. 31, nearly 30 minutes after takeoff from the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, heading to St. Petersburg.

Now Congressman McCaul, who sits on the influential Homeland Security Committee, said he is “greatly concerned” that ISIS will look to target airliners carrying passengers from other nations carrying out airstrikes including Britain and America.
Sinai Islamic State group leader Ashraf Gharabli ‘killed’
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-34765662
There is a “high probability” that a bomb planted by an Islamic State supporter brought down the Russian airliner which crashed over Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula just over a week ago, according to Britain’s foreign secretary.
Drawing one of the most explicit links yet between Isis and the incident, Philip Hammond said that this did not necessarily mean that the attack was directed from the group’s headquarters in Syria.
Rather, he said: “It may have been an individual who was inspired by Isis who was self-radicalised by looking at Isis propaganda and was acting in the name of Isis without necessarily being directed.”

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe the Andaman Islands are in the Bay of Bengal. Too bad nobody looked for alleged anomalies on the ocean floor there.

Well…. the “answer” maybe near !!!!
Or “near ish”.
Looks like they may actually “find the plane” in the end.
The “as yet unsearched” area of S39 22′ 46″ E087 6′ 20″ may get looked at.
Then (as I mentioned somewhere above, many months ago) they may find the answer to “Why all comms got shut down (acars, satcom, radios) and then later on…. satcom got powered up again…
….no one has answered this yet. And it is from that “powering up” of satcom AFTER it had been shut down, that gave the world the “handshakes”.
It is amazing, Without that “very bizarre” occurrence, MH370 could never have been “tracked” by Imarsat
Satcom is a curious piece of equipment.
It is either “on” or it is “off / running”.
If you are flying…and it is “not on”, it will default to “run”. I am pretty sure that is the same on a B777 series 200.
So if you have gone to all that bother of actually “shutting it off” completely (and that is a lot of bother !!!), why then “power it up” again.
Firstly, shutting down satcom completely whilst “in flight”.
Satcom comes with so many “built in redundancies”, it is not something you can readily achieve. In flight, as long as there is “power” to satcom, even if it is “off”, it will default to “run”.
BUT in the case of MH370, it did not default to “run”. It went completely “off”. To do that, you would need to “interrupt” all power to that system. And I mean “all power” and “all power from the redundancies”.
So, somehow, this was achieved.
Now you have a completely “black” aircraft.
Why then, at Banda Aceh, did the system “come to life” ?
By that I mean, the satcom system wasn’t “on”, it defaulted to “run”.
The system received “normal power” (or “power”) from somewhere AND this is why it was able to “log on… but say it was not on” (a handshake”).
It merely said “I now have power. I am not On. I default to Run”.
The “suicidal pilot theory”.
This is the simplest of all theories to believe. But for one thing.
You go to the trouble of turning the a/c “black”.
And it takes you a mere “two minutes” to do this.
Lets say, you even kill all the passengers whilst doing so.
You then “fly black” across the mainland, turn North West in the Straits and fly the “boundary” up to Banda Aceh.
Here (or a bit before) you “give the satcom life” (hence, it is not “On” but defaults to “run”…and so performs hourly handshakes).
AND THEN you swing 180 and head “due South”.
All… very bizarre.
Thank you for mentioning Banda Aceh again, James, because that part of the puzzle is often left out now.
Taking a cue from James:
http://jeffwise.net/2014/11/18/mh370-and-the-mystery-of-indonesian-radar/
Banda Aceh matters in the big picture of what happened to MH370. Go back to the beginning, I say.
They seem to leave a big chunk out….
…but it is in the report.
As much as it says “we don’t know why the satcom came back on” part !
And that’s odd… as they can’t explain how it went COMPLETELY off in the first place.
Terrain following, terrain avoidance radar systems are part of the special ops aviation kit. Does this not sound like what was going on with MH370?
http://www.militaryaerospace.com/articles/2015/10/special-forces-radar.html
Shutting off and turning on onboard passenger jet operating systems is within the realm of electronic warfare capabilities. So why has so little been said? It wouldn’t do to have consumers aware that they could be taken down from outside their aircraft if their plane strays slightly off course! And as was discussed long ago here, it is feasible that unscrupulous governments or corporations with government contracts might take on “extracurricular” work with hundress of innocent souls on board as their human shields. All possible. Pings
and handshakes are a temporary distraction, but now its seems independent outsiders are giving other ideas closer examination at long last. It’s about time, and long overdue. How can you get to “what” without first asking “why”?
Q That’s the thing….
…it went “dark”. And it remained dark for quite sometime.
No “things you’d forget would transmit, even if you didn’t want them to”
So, No auto acars. No satcom.
BUT it wouldn’t “completely” be dark.
There would be (were limited) Secondary Radar tracks.
Along the Straits, it flew the FIR (Indo/Malay border).
It flew that “precisely”.
Once it was at Banda Aceh….the satcom comes on (well, powered up to transmit “run” data).
Think about it. Someone knew enough about the systems to make the a/c go “black” but knew it would also “be seen” (then..and when reviewed later).
So if it could fly a FIR precisely, what else would you need, that it required you turn on (or apply power to) the satcom ?
remember, any satcom data from pings would not be “real time”.
Any “James Bond” type equipment used… then why the need to “power up” the systems again. It’s already flown the FIR perfectly.
So… did the “pilot” climb down into the EE Bay and “switch power on” ?
Sounds plausible… until you ask “well how did he turn it off in the first place…in two minutes” !
See… the other thing is (as well as the above..and maybe linked), MH370 went dark…and then crossed the mainland….
…But the Malaysian Airlines thought (after awhile) it was in Cambodia.
They even told Vietnam ATC this.
Where the hell were “Company” getting their information from ?
At that point, MH370 wasn’t transmitting anything.
Further (and not in real time….because no one knows if anyone was watching the screen) Secondary in Malaysia was “seeing it” cross the mainland.
You can not have one aircraft… in two locations.
And Company have no “tracking” once it went dark.
Was it ever decided what this orange object was ?

That seems quite inexpensive?
