I had fairly well concluded that the most likely cause was a fire disrupting the electrical and control systems, when CNN now say the sharp left turn was pre-programmed 12 minutes before sign off from Malaysian Air Traffic control, which was followed fairly quickly by that left turn.
CNN claim to have this from an US official, from data sent back before the reporting systems went off. It is hard to know what to make of it: obviously there are large economic interests that much prefer blame to lie with the pilots rather than the aircraft. But if it is true then the move was not a response to an emergency. (CNN went on to say the pilot could have programmed in the course change as a contingency in case of an emergency. That made no sense to me at all – does it to anyone else?)
I still find it extremely unlikely that the plane landed or crashed on land I cannot believe it could evade military detection as it flew over a highly militarized region. Somewhere there is debris on the ocean. There have been previous pilot suicides that took the plane with them; but the long detour first seems very strange and I do not believe is precedented. However if the CNN information on pre-programming is correct, and given it was the co-pilot who signed off to air traffic control, it is hard to look beyond the pilots as those responsible for whatever did happen. In fact, on consideration, the most improbable thing is that information CNN are reporting from the US official.
It seems do be getting a bit angsty I wonder if they found something ?

The biggest impediment in the search for MH370 has always been the government of Malaysia. In my opinion, everything comes back to this. Whenever character smears enter the equation, dig deeper.
And now headlines from Australian media are about missing gold in a sunken ship as the real motivation behind the search for MH370.
Greed? Corruption? Same old story. This cover-up has gone to ridiculous lengths. I have little reason to believe we’ll ever know the truth.
me shyam i had predicted no debris no survivors no debris 2 days after 2 days somehow i am not finding in my search.but it stands good even now cn tweet search it out
Jeff Wise comes to the conclusion the data behind the current search is faulty. Meanwhile, some of us have been saying this all along. Go Jeff!

Royal Malaysian Airforce purchased Migs and Sukhois rather than the US equivalent. Oops
Different model, different circumstances, but an old problem: metal fatigue. MH370 had that runway incident prior to vanishing into thin air.

IN DEPTH
Gamblers hedge their bets as search for MH370 continues
FAZRY ISMAIL/EPA
April 19 2018, 5:00pm
Frustration washed over David Griffin, the Australian oceanographer, when he saw the French spy satellite images of debris from the Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 years after it vanished over the Indian ocean. “I just thought: ‘We’ve been wasting our time, if only we’d had these years ago’,” the government scientist said as he recalled staring at the high resolution images on the computer screen in his office in Tasmania.
It was late 2016 and the Boeing 777 had been missing for two years and seven months. Already millions of pounds had been spent on a fruitless search, involving Dr Griffin.
The pictures, taken 15 days after the jet carrying 239 people disappeared, showed that it had probably left a trail of wreckage. The evidence had long since disappeared in the intervening years. It had never been sighted despite a mass aerial search in the weeks after the jet’s disappearance. Dr Griffin, 59, an expert in how objects drift across oceans, was convinced that the pictures held the clues to where the plane crashed.
The images would also be the trigger for the one of the biggest and strangest bets ever wagered. A group of mysterious backers stands to make tens of millions of pounds if they succeed in the fresh search for MH370 . . . or they could lose heavily.Nobody had before realised the full significance of the French Military Intelligence images. Crude paper copies were stuffed into a diplomatic bag and sent out to Australia weeks after MH370 disappeared. Their significance was missed by authorities. They were trying to co-ordinate a frantic aerial hunt for the jet which had mysteriously turned south on an overnight flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing in March, 2014.
The search, which later moved underwater, lasted 1,046 days. Nothing was found. By the time the search ended last year, Flight MH370 had become the world’s greatest and most expensive aviation mystery. Nobody had the appetite to pour more money into it.

But Dr Griffin had not given up. He turned detective and used his deep knowledge of ocean currents, Australia’s most powerful supercomputer and weeks bobbing in a dinghy off Tasmania to learn how aircraft parts drifted in water.
He would discover why MH370 was most likely on the ocean floor, north of where everybody had been looking. He had two sets of clues. The first was a confirmed part of MH370 — a two-metre wing flaperon — that had washed up on the Indian Ocean French island of Reunion, 506 days after MH370 was lost. The oceanographer began plotting the flaperon’s likely path westward across the Indian Ocean to discover where it started — the crash site. First, he needed a Boeing 777 flaperon but the French government has never given the one recovered on Reunion to Australian investigators.
Dr Griffin instead had replicas made from wood before he obtained a real one. He fitted it with GPS trackers and set it adrift off Tasmania to learn how the aircraft part behaved in differing winds and currents.
Feeding the information into Australia’s most powerful computer, together with years of accumulated data on Indian Ocean currents and weather, the scientist simulated the flaperon’s 506-day journey, backwards. He found that MH370 must have crashed north of where searchers had been looking on the Indian Ocean floor. He calculated that it lay about 1,800 miles from Perth, the West Australian capital city.

The pijacker deliberately dumped and ignited fuel.
This is probably what was seen by Kate Tee.
Presumably this was carried out as misdirection, to ‘simulate’ an aircraft in severe trouble.
The fuel models are not useful because an unknown amount of fuel was dumped. In addition it is possible that one or more engines could have been damaged.
Whilst idly speculating on how this could have been executed, I thought to myself that it would not be popular with the PAX … but they were doubtless dead by then.
Look who’s back. Will it make any difference?

Hope the greatly anti-American, new leader Mohamad Matiahir, been so long since I have seen his name that I have forgot how to spell it, of Malaysia, orders a new search without any help from the Anglo-American plotters who have led matters to this impasse from start to finish.

There is evidence that MH370 was taken to Diego Garcia.
By the space-people ?
Don’t understand this belated gobbledygook on crash MH370.
You would think the searchers for the missing plane would start off with a fresh mind about the missing airliner, like they are looking still in the wrong place, the airliner might have been completely consumed by fire while still in the air, explaining why no debris of plane parts, baggage and bodies were ever found.
The airline industry has no ideas about such possibilities. I cannot even find if airliners can be totally consumed by fire, leaving nothing to find after a few days except the inoperative black boxes on the sea floor.
I saw the local online newspaper reports from near Diego Garcia. They saw the plane coming lower. They positively identified it. They tried to tell people that it was there. The following week they puzzled as to why no-one was listening. I saved the link. The island is on the arc of the last ping. Error 404 came up the next time I looked. Other conspiracy sites allege only one owner of a remote hacking plane diversionary system remains. Rothschild. The others were allegedly on board. This may be a fantasy. It may be that the passengers weren’t asphyxiated and flown to Diego Garcia. If it is true, then this is truly international, if Australia spent so much on searching the South Atlantic… Hard to believe
