I had fairly well concluded that the most likely cause was a fire disrupting the electrical and control systems, when CNN now say the sharp left turn was pre-programmed 12 minutes before sign off from Malaysian Air Traffic control, which was followed fairly quickly by that left turn.
CNN claim to have this from an US official, from data sent back before the reporting systems went off. It is hard to know what to make of it: obviously there are large economic interests that much prefer blame to lie with the pilots rather than the aircraft. But if it is true then the move was not a response to an emergency. (CNN went on to say the pilot could have programmed in the course change as a contingency in case of an emergency. That made no sense to me at all – does it to anyone else?)
I still find it extremely unlikely that the plane landed or crashed on land I cannot believe it could evade military detection as it flew over a highly militarized region. Somewhere there is debris on the ocean. There have been previous pilot suicides that took the plane with them; but the long detour first seems very strange and I do not believe is precedented. However if the CNN information on pre-programming is correct, and given it was the co-pilot who signed off to air traffic control, it is hard to look beyond the pilots as those responsible for whatever did happen. In fact, on consideration, the most improbable thing is that information CNN are reporting from the US official.

If boats carrying illegal migrants are turned back, what about planes?
Here’s a paper on the issue of document fraud and human trafficking by air to Australia:
http://www.law.uq.edu.au/documents/humantraffic/migrant-smuggling/Air/Schloenhardt-Douglas-Lelliott_Migrant-Smuggling-by-Air-and-Document-Fraud.pdf
“Carriers that are found transporting undocumented passengers can be fined if they neglect to verify the documentation of their passengers. Carriers cannot be fined, however, if their passengers possess fraudulent documents. The emphasis of these standards is on the possession of documents, not on their authenticity. Commercial airlines are not burdened with the obligation to apprehend false and altered travel and identity documentation. If, however, fraudulent documents are found, carriers are required to seize them and return them to the authorised agencies of the issuing country.”
It’s hard to say if “mangosteens” would carry documents, fraudulent or otherwise. What do mangosteens weigh in comparison to an average human adult?

Enemies of Australia take note. It’s low risk attacking from the west.
“(Reuters) – The southern Indian Ocean, where investigators suspect missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 may have come down, is one place where a commercial airliner can crash without a ship spotting it, a radar plotting it or even a satellite picking it up.”
“Even Australia, which has island territories in the Indian Ocean and sends rescue planes to pluck stricken yachtsmen from the cold, mountainous seas in the south from time to time, has no radar coverage much beyond its Indian Ocean coast.”
At the very end of the article: “While the Jindalee Operational Radar Network (JORN) extends part-way across the northern Indian Ocean, government papers online describe it as a “tripwire” in Australia’s northern surveillance system, helping underpin the defense of the country from any attack originating from the north.”

Now Vice President Biden is going to Ukraine, and President Barack Obama is going to Malaysia to spread lies about what others have been doing and make false denials about what Washington has been up to, showing just what its priorities are, and just what the West has become.
NR – 11:11 .. Anybody invades the North-West of Australia is welcome to try … to stay alive…. You need to understand our country, mate .. it will kill you quicker than look at you.
It’s not our army an invader has to worry about, it’s the land. The world’s deadliest things live here, in the ground, in the water, in the trees … the crocs and the river sharks don’t get you then the Red, Brown or Taipan snakes will … and the Tiger snake never misses its second strike …death everywhere out there, mate, thousands of miles of it.. stay away from the NW !!!
🙂
Donald
I am not sure its an army that Australia fears more another animal being introduced. Be it toads, rabbits, camels etc they all see to thrive and completely upset the natural balance of your resident species.

I fear you maybe right, too many are seeing the PRO Russian sympathisers are Russian soldiers, the difference appears to escape them.
Straw – It’s a feral place, I tell you. Recently we found a new species of sea snail … goes without saying that it is completely poisonous.
Is it called the Abbott snail, Donald?
NR 11:11am
The Australian Defense Force was not available for comment. (regarding JORN)
Did you expect anything else?
They already said that JORN probably(!!) wasnt operational that night but they didnt know for sure. Silence since then.
Trowbridge – Careful, mate, Abbott can hear everything you say, have you seen his ears? 🙂
BB – Up north most installations are only semi-permanent, the air force drops in from time to time, does an exercise over the area and then moves on somewhere else, there is no need for more. The area is almost as deserted as Antarctica.
BlueBird.
I think there are only a couple of Primary Radar sites in NW Oz.
JORN is “suppose” to be the only thing that’s needed (!).
And as for coverage. I have seen one diagram showing MAS370 would not have come into range. And I have seen one diagram showing it would have.
My take. I imagine it would ! So why didn’t it ? Or did it ? Or is it crap !
(No debris still ! Was it even there ! It’s getting madder and madder !)
It is hard to believe with U.S. interest in Christmas Island and the various operations like Grapple that have gone on there, and relative proximity to SLOC, and reasons to consider in terms of satellite launching, that Christmas Island would not have picked up any signs of MH370.
How is the brand new and markedly superior SharpEye radar on Christmas Island working out? It’s supposed to help in the hunt for illegal migrants. Installed in late 2013.
James 3:42 pm
The Australian military said that they “believe” that JORN was not operational during that night. No other information by now.
Blue
It would “appear” that the Australians don’t have much “luck” with radar.
Any type judging by the comments of Q.
They don’t appear able to track boats heading their way….or aircraft.
http://www.smh.com.au/national/radar-fails-to-detect-boats-off-christmas-island-20110629-1gr25.html
Granted that was 2011.
So the Australians “updated” the previously “new” radar.
And is that any better !
Keep watching the football and buying the “all new” Iphone28.
It’ll all be alright !
NEW (not so new) CONSPIRACY THEORY !
All you do is have a “big event” and then you can generate “tax”.
And of course spend it !
A “war” was the “in” thing. But who needs that now.
The “Cold War” was a good “spending frenzy”.
The “silent submarine” that the Americans “said” the USSR had provide very lucrative. Many millions of Dollars were spent on detection back then.
The USSR didn’t have such a weapon. But that’s irrelevant. The spending was actual. Fill your boots.
It’s brilliant. Pure Edward Bernays
“Modern business must have its finger continuously on the public pulse. It must understand the changes in the public mind and be prepared to interpret itself fairly and eloquently to changing opinion.”
Modern business…is “tax” ! (And anyone else they “let in”).
James; The above is not clear as to the point. Are taxes a conspiracy? Is that what worries you about ‘events’?
At last, I found a good evidence video:
Check at 3:11 for how easy you can access E/E-bay, it took him approx 20 sec to rip up the cardboard and open the hatch, and surprise-there is a pressurized hatch to the belly of the fuselage if you want to jump out from E/E…..
I´m not so sure that we should look for a suicidal pilot….more of a possible bunch of strangers in the E/E…

Ben…
You’re not getting the point.
I doubt you ever will.
Still to the “Illuminatus” or “Reptilian Beings”.
Or should I say.
Like a casino…. you need punters.
Conspiracy theories debunked (again) by CNN.
1. It’s ludicrous to suggest the plane landed at Diego Garcia. If it did the US would know about it, and the US says it did not. So there!
2. Two experts agreed it’s impossible the plane was hijacked by remote control because there’s no way of doing that. So double there!
3. However, one expert, who apparently wasn’t properly briefed on the point of this exercise, allowed as how he didn’t believe the Inmarsat tracks and also didn’t believe Southeast Asian radars would necessarily see MH370 as they’re notoriously unreliable. He suspected the plane could have been hijacked to either Pakistan or Indonesia.
During a commercial break they herded him back on the reservation, and he retracted slightly, saying if the pings from the black boxes were genuine, then of course the Inmarsat tracks were correct.
3. The host and one expert expressed astonishment that many years later people still believed in conspiracies about the grassy knoll, 9/11 and TWA800.
4. No references to the strange absence of any data and total silence from the world’s vast surveillance establishment.
CNN !
Mad. American. Tooth Fairy. Weird Sh*t !
The SharpEye Solid-State Radar System was installed on Christmas Island by Kelvin Hughes Marine Systems in response to a tragic incident involving illegal migrants:
http://www.heraldsun.com.au/archive/news/at-least-27-dead-in-christmas-island-refugee-boat-crash-tragedy/story-e6frf7l6-1225971785443http://news.sky.com/story/1101529/christmas-island-boat-tragedy-55-feared-dead
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010_Christmas_Island_boat_disaster
A 777 is neither made of wood, nor a boat, nor small. This is probably why radar lost track of it. I realize this makes about as much sense as various countries switching off radar. Perhaps the SharpEye Solid-State Radar System on Christmas Island cannot track large things made of metal and composites, which move through the air, as it was meant to track small wooden fishing boats only.

A huge pyramid in the middle of nowhere tracking the end of the world on radar.
Nothing to do with the missing plane just a very interesting diversion a now defunct radar station that a dutch film crew managed to blag a look inside ,mods can delete just give people a chance to pick up the links 🙂
First link is photos of it being built 2nd link is the dutch video of it now ,forward to about 3.00 for the start of the visit.
