Brazilian crowd whiter than a Broederbond meeting. Hard to enjoy the match without thinking of the 25 billion dollars squandered on the tournament by the Brazilian government – and plainly attendance is restricted to rich white people.

Bollocks and you know it RD. Babar Ahmad was beaten by police and awarded £60,000 damages in a civil case. His presence here in a UK prison for eight years without being charged with a crime. Theresa May, who knew there was nothing on him, knew also that being tortured in solitary confinement for 23/24 hours a day without human contact would lead to a confession. In between 93% to 99% of all cases plead guilty through this deprivation. One who didn’t confess was Herman Wallace. They just keep them there indefinitely in that case.

On which I would merely comment as follows:
1/. “Vera Graziedai” – who she? Status?
2/. “Genocide” in Ukraine – new definition of genocide?
3/. Source – the pretentiously named “Global Research” yet again, the peculiarly opaque outfit run (as far as one can find out)by the egregious “Professor” Michel Souris and a Girl Friday.
The conclusion must be that little if any credence can be given to Mr Goiss’s comment.
Goodness gracious me. The man (habbakuk) is obsessed with this top and bottom page thing.

Heard Ms Cressida Dick on the car radio coming home. She was asked about the death of Jean Charles. (She was i/c of that bungled operation – I think it was named Operation Kratos. She skated round it mostly but said that the police had learnt some very good lessons. Sadly Jean Charles is no longer around to hear about them or to see the World Cup being played in his native country, Brazil.
She is moving on to another job. She believes that she and her colleagues have kept the country safe since 7/7 and 21/7. That’s a relief then.
Burnham was asked about Miliband as a leader. Waffled.

Now, if the United Kingdom were the fascist country sundry Eminences (eg, Mary) think it is – or even if it were merely “sliding into fascism” as others have claimed on this blog, then surely the authorities would be, at this very moment, attempting to establish the identity of the person who posted the above – ie, Ba’al Zevul – with a view, possibly, to charging him with incitement.
But since it is not, they’re (probably) not.

Yet more lies and smears on your part.
My comment was in response to Nevermind’s saying that Ahmad had been tortured to confess to his crimes in the US – not the early case civil damages case.
I did not say that Yatsenyuk was good leader – I defended him from the smear propagated by Sofia that he had called the Russian people sub humans.
I’m afraid that you have become so divorced from reality that your ability to discern the difference between truth and lies, if you ever had any, has now deserted you.
The challenge is still there to provide any evidence that Ahmad’s admission of his guilt to terrorist offences in the US was obtained by torture by the US authorities.

Solitary confinement in US supermax prisons was condemned in a 2011 UN Special Report when the Special Rapporteur said “it can amount to torture or cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment” and should be phased out except for certain extreme cases and then only to be used for short periods. The treatment of Babar Ahmad and Talha Ahsan contravene Articles 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
“I did not say that Yatsenyuk was good leader – I defended him from the smear propagated by Sofia that he had called the Russian people sub humans.”

I copied the report of a Palestinian shot dead yesterday by the IDF. In addition:
PCHR
Palestinian Centre for Human Rights Ref: 69/2014
Date: 21 June 2014 11:30 GMT
For the 9th Consecutive Day, Israeli Forces Continue to Attack the West Bank and Launch Airstrikes on the Gaza Strip;
Palestinian Child Killed, Old Man Dies Due to Heart Attack, 6 Civilians, including a Child, Wounded and 320 Palestinian Civilians Arrested, Including PLC Speaker and 6 Members
For the 9th consecutive day, Israeli forces continued to practice a policy of collective punishment against Palestinian civilians in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt), especially in the West Bank. This campaign included large-scale incursions into Palestinian communities in the West Bank and brutal night house raids using tracker dogs and maltreating residents of houses by expelling them outside their houses, detaining them in one room or arresting them.
Moreover, Israeli forces turned many of those houses into military sites and deliberately damaged their belongings. This campaign was accompanied by the use of excessive force against Palestinian civilians, who demonstrated against the Israeli forces. In addition, the raid campaign targeted charities, health centers, media offices, schools, universities and currency exchange shops. Israeli forces confiscated their contents as well as dozens of surveillance cameras. Israeli forces also launched many airstrikes on training sites for armed groups and civilian objects in the Gaza Strip.
In an excessive use of force, on Friday, 20 June 2014, Israeli forces killed a 14-year-old Palestinian child in Dura, southwest of Hebron. According to investigations conducted by the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR), at approximately 01:00 on the aforementioned day, Israeli forces backed by military vehicles and accompanied by armored personnel carriers moved into Dura, southwest of Hebron, and stationed in a number of its neighborhoods. They deployed between the houses when dozens of Palestinian boys and children gathered in several parts of the town outskirts and threw stones and empty bottles at the Israeli soldiers. At approximately 04:50, an Israeli infantry force comprised of around 300 soldiers deployed between the houses in Haninah neighborhood in the south of the town. When they tried to pass through the main street to head to the area overseeing al-Ma’ajour neighborhood near the “Adoraym” military camp known as “the crazy camp”, a number of boys and children gathered to throw stones at them. In response, the Israeli soldiers fired ceaselessly for 10 minutes sound bombs, tear gas canisters and rubber-coated metal bullets at the stone-throwers until an Israeli soldier appeared and fired live bullets indiscriminately at the demonstrators. As a result, Mohammed Jihad Mohammed Doudin (14) was hit by a live bullet, which penetrated the right side of the chest and exited from the back. He was then taken by a civilian vehicle to the Palestine Red Crescent Society clinic in the town, but he died upon arrival.
On Saturday early morning, 21 June 2014, Naji ‘Ali ‘Abed Souf (60) from Haris village, west of Saflit, died of a severe heart attack as Israeli forces refused to allow his family to take him to the hospital for treatment. At approximately 03:40, Israeli forces backed by 50 military vehicles moved into the aforementioned village. When Souf, who suffered from a weak heart muscle, was on his way to the village’s mosque for the dawn prayer, he was surprised with Israeli forces surrounding his house. As a result, he collapsed and the Israeli soldiers refused to give him first aid. Few minutes later, he died.
On the same day morning, a Palestinian child was wounded in Nablus when Israeli forces moved into the city. Moreover, on 20 June 2014, 3 Palestinian civilians were wounded in Qalandia refugee camp, north of occupied Jerusalem, when a group of children and youngsters demonstrated against the Israeli soldiers. The wounds of two of them were described as serious, and one of them was transferred to Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem. In addition, on 19 June 2014, 4 Palestinian civilians were wounded in similar circumstances.
According to PCHR’s investigations and the fieldworkers’ documentation, during this campaign, Israeli forces conducted more than 220 incursions into Palestinian towns, villages and refugee camps in the West Bank. During the campaign, Israeli forces arrested at least 320 Palestinian civilians, including the Speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) and 6 of its members.
Also during the campaign, Israeli forces raided charities and health centers and confiscated their contents in addition to closing many of them. On 19 June 2014, Israeli forces raided al-Dar Mall in Salah al-Deen Street in the center of Jerusalem searching for an office belonging to “Jerusalem Association for Development.” They also raided the Zakat and Sadaqat Committee in Sour Baher village, southeast of the city, and handed the chairman of the committee an order signed by General “Youhanan Danino”, the Israeli Police Inspector General, to close the committee’s office for one year. Moreover, they confiscated laptops and USBs from the office. They also raided the head office of al-Namaa’ Society for Social Innovations in the building of Hamzah Mosque in Beit Safafa village, southeast of the city, and handed the workers there an order signed by the Israeli Police Inspector General to close the Society for 6 months.
For the second consecutive day, at approximately 03:00 on Thursday, 19 June 2014, Israeli forces backed by military vehicles raided the building of the American Arab University in al-Zababdah village, east of Jenin, after breaking the lock of gate (3). The Israeli soldiers detained the university guard and raided the building of Student Affairs Deanship, from which they confiscated flags and papers belonging to the student blocks. Moreover, they raided al-Hawari company for currency exchange in the mall in Nablus after calling its owner, Tayel Mohammed Salim ‘Odah, and forcing him to open the door. They confiscated 4 computers and the money that was in the safe, without allowing him to know how much, as well as his 2010 Mercedes black car. In Ramallah and al-Bireh, Israeli forces raided Pal Media offices, the Head office of Islamic Relief Worldwide Charity and al-Noun Centre for Quranic studies and confiscated their contents.
In the Gaza Strip, on Thursday, 19 June 2014, Israeli warplanes launched 5 airstrikes targeting Tunis paramilitary site in the east of al-Zaytoun neighborhood, east of Gaza City; Abu Jarad military site, southeast of Gaza City; ‘Emad Abu Qadous site, west of al-Maqousi buildings, north of Gaza City; another site to the east of al-Sheikh Zayed buildings, southeast of Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip; and a training site, north of al-Nussairt in the central Gaza Strip. As a result of the airstrikes, damages were caused to the aforementioned sites, but no injuries were reported.
On Friday early morning, 20 June 2014, Israeli warplanes launched 3 airstrikes. During which, they targeted a vacant land in al-Sabrah neighborhood in Gaza City. As a result, a barrack used as Chips factory was destroyed and burnt in addition to damages caused to the nearby houses; 8 of its residents, including 2 women and 2 children, sustained shrapnel wounds due to the flying glass. The two airstrikes on Khan Younis targeted a vacant land and military site for armed groups. No injuries were reported. Thus, the number of airstrikes launched on targets in the Gaza Strips has increased to 26 airstrikes since the beginning of this latest Israeli campaign.
PCHR stresses that the measures taken by the Israeli forces in the oPt are part of the collective punishment policy and reprisals against Palestinian civilians in violation of Article 33 of the 1949 Fourth Geneva Convention Relative to Protection of Civilians in Times of War which provides that: “No protected person may be punished for an offence he or she has not personally committed. Collective penalties and likewise all measures of intimidation or of terrorism are prohibited.” PCHR calls upon the international community to take immediate and effective actions and reiterates its call for the High Contracting Parties to the 1949 Fourth Geneva Convention to fulfill their obligations under Article 1; to respect and to ensure respect for the Convention in all circumstances. PCHR also calls upon the international community to fulfill their obligation under Article 146 to prosecute persons alleged to commit grave breaches of the Fourth Geneva Convention. These grave breaches constitute war crimes under Article 147 of the same Convention and Protocol (I) Additional to the Geneva Conventions.

Babar Ahmad was never at Guantanamo.
“But why would you defend him. That’s what he said.”
No he didn’t you idiot – read the links I and Sofia provided – if Global Research parroted what oldmoonofalabama and Sofia said then perhaps you be questioning the quality of their reporting not mine. Yatsenyuk’s comment was directed at those who killed Ukrainian troops in Eastern Ukraine not the whole Russian nation – and don’t you think that if he had made such a comment then it wouldn’t be all over your beloved RT. You and Sofia seem intent on writing a modern day version of the Zinoviev letter – but being a useless idiot even that is beyond you.
“The challenge is still there to provide any evidence that Ahmad’s admission of his guilt to terrorist offences in the US was obtained by torture by the US authorities.”
I would like to see you RD after 10 days in a supermax prison, let alone ten years, without plea-bargaining to get out. Take a holiday there to your beloved United States where the conditions are so good and they have the highest per capita prison population in the world. Cameron wants these prisons here. He calls them something like high security private prisons. Wake up world. It’s Kafkaesque, Orwellian, unthinkable. He also wants more slave prisons.
http://one3one.justice.gov.uk/downloads/prospectus.pdf
They work like this. Under the pretence of teaching prisoners a trade they work for almost nothing. Big profits (always a strong motive for any government action) make them look appealing. So prisoners are locked up at night, or day, slave away the rest of the time. When they are released they cannot get a proper job because they’ve got a prison record. So they offend. This is what the big money people are striving for, slave prisons. My understanding is that vagrants are being picked up off the streets in the US to slave away in these establishments. And RD defends the Yanks and their followers. Shame!

Get Surrey is the online version of the Surrey Advertiser, once a great paper but now almost all trivia and advertorials, and taken over from Guardian Media Group by Trinity Mirror. The weekly copy now costs 90p and the size of the paper and the content has reduced. Different editions are published for each area.
There is the occasional good bit of investigative journalism such as that on the outrageous behaviour of the County Hall troughers.
Some of the Surrey Con MPs are now weighing in. Bad for the Party image, don’t you know!

You’re the idiot RD and you demonstrate it day after day, week after week, in all your guises. You must be a fascist supporting a fascist. That weaselly Yatsenyuk called the pro-Russians, his fellow countrymen subhuman. Then it was changed to inhuman. Read the article and you will see what good company he keeps like yourself who has supported these fascists from day one, who has supported the BBC and other channels who have not reported the civilian atrocities. The good people of Eastern Ukraine have voted against fascism and for Russian identity. You are flying flags with swastikas RD. Have you got HATE tattooed on your knuckles? I bet. Twat.
John Goss
You know very well that the European Court of Human Rights in 2012 rejected Ahmad’s case that a possible life sentence at a Supermax prison (ADX Florence) would constitute a breach of the ECHR (which follows the UN Declaration) – but he hasn’t been sentenced to go there yet. Again where is the evidence that his pleading guilty in the US Courts in 2013 was obtained by torture. You will of course think it is as someone who tends to favour terrorists who share your opposition to the UK, US and Israeli Governments – but that is not evidence. Ahmad has in the past (quite rightly) challenged the authorities when he has been the subject of abuse and is also actively seeking access to one of the witnesses against him in the US case – but he has made no accusations of torture by the US authorities despite the claims of yourself and Nevermind. Please either put up or shut up.
Mr Goss
You are the only one demonstrating hate combined with a severe case of irrationality and delusion. Goodbye ****
Mr Goss
“That’s what he said. That’s what the Global Research article says he said if you read it.”
________________________
So you are basing your belief on something you read in the pretentiously-named “Global Research”.
Somewhat hazardous, I’d say.
I have come to believe these are Blair’s last few hours and days alive, let’s just say a vivid premonition involving his scrawny neck and another of his own Labour Party’s North Brit member’s hands clasped tightly round it, is responsible for this certainty. With him gone, other Labour Party figures should, must and will come under the microscope for their role in the many Iraq-related war crimes.
I don’t think too that anyone here underestimates the role of the preceding Tory governments in directly causing millions of deaths, including of around half-a-million Iraqi children alone by sanctions, by the bombing of Iraq during the 1991 attacks, including with depleted uranium munitions and thereafter over the course of the subsequent sanctions years, from 1991 to 2003, directly resulting in starvation and disease, facilitated additionally by the further bombing of Iraq’s water and and sewage and other essential facilities, during the no-fly zone period and forbidding import of materials and machinery to make repairs. For which John Major & Co cannot evade responsibility or suitable punishment for crimes of this magnitude and horror.
Justice will not be done until the Westminster political machinery which perpetrated these crimes against humanity and still dances to the same murderous tune, is dismantled. The Westminster Houses of Parliament have no future in the governing of the countries and people of the British Isles. Its future lies in guided tours, with rubberneckers and sticky kids with ice-lollys clambering over the red and green benches. A relic of a most shameful period, which as yet is not fully over.
The entire political, diplomatic, media and military establishments of this country are unfit for purpose and the sooner the constituent nations and peoples of Britain form new untainted bodies, institutions, constitutions and parliaments which are more than just talking shops, the sooner these corrupted criminal ones can be neutralised.
You want to watch it, Ba’al – keeping track of Blair’s movements is one thing (although, as Mary pointed out, a rather boring thing if carried out to the point of obsession), incitement is something else.
I speak as someone with your welfare in mind.
Moderators
I refer you to Mary’s excessively long post at 14h24 today.
You will note that not only is that post off topic but it is also a straight-forward cut-and-paste job standing freely and not in support of a point or argument Mary is making.
Accordingly, that post contravenes Craig’s request/instructions that people should not simply post stuff from other blogs or sources without justification. His words, roughly, were that he did not wish to see his blog turned into a rubbish tip for sundry quotations.
Action recommended (at least a stern warning to Mary).
All this talk of fascists – so let’s have a picture of two of them together!
https://twitter.com/BBCDanielS/statuses/476689565995270144
The globalresearch.ca article includes screenshots of the ‘official’ Ukranian ‘Government’ site, a press release from and published by the Ukranian Embassy in the US, containing the offending words: sub-human, there is no qualification of who it is being applied to -even if it were only to a portion of the Russian people, which you claim, though it clearly isn’t, it is still indefensible. This is not in dispute by anyone other than you two nits.
“containing the offending words: sub-human, there is no qualification of who it is being applied to”
Perhaps you should read the preceding paragraph the context is quite clear. If it was a slur on the whole Russian nation do you think that RT and others wouldn’t be in uproar. Only those playing the provocation game such as Sofia, Vineyard Saker, the old idiot and yourself want to try and make it a slur against Russians as a whole.
The Russian nation and people have had over a hundred years of similar smears and slurs, from those with power in the west, apart from a brief few years during the ’41-’45 war, when they dealt with a German nuisance on our behalf, so water off a bear-like duck’s back, I think they are used to it, so would hardly be in uproar, mild amusement perhaps?
