CNN just announced that Israeli is launching a ground invasion “after ten days of Hamas attacks by land air and sea.” There was no questioning of that quite incredible statement. Talk about the big lie.
In a strange way I prefer this to the continued aerial bombardment, because at least the Palestinians will be able to fight back to some extent. I do hope the Palestinian defenders have a good deal of success against the Israeli tanks. Let us hope the IDF get a bloody nose like they did in Lebanon 2006.
UPDATE
The heroic Israelis have killed a five month old baby with a tank. Hope they are very proud of themselves.

very funny this AVAAz organization. They claim to have about 37 million members but what are 99% of these wankers doing if they cannot lift their asses and stop wanking or sodomizing children that presumably prevents them from signing the petition “Israel-Palestine: This is how it ends”. Are these all zombies or hasbara clowns?
This petition is adding currently more than 10,000 signatures per hour. But now it is mostly southern hemisphere. Please sign.

Good point Karel. However it is moving fast. It has only been up for about two days tops.

although you claim that “It’s only the BARCODE that originated in Israel NOT the product.” I suggest to boycott your future contribution as your bar code undoubtedly starts with 729. Craig, have you not never heard of the BDS?
John Goss,
I admire your optimism. The No. of signatories after a two-day campaign is still bellow 1%. Cannot they stop wanking for at least one minute?
Karel, I’m only pointing out the truth. Sorry if that upsets your adopted mindset but it doesn’t change anything. Boycott anything with a 729 barcode if you wish but you might still be buying stuff from Israel.
John…

Dear …….
Thank you very much for your nice email, and prayers for Gaza and sorry for my delay in writing back to you. I miss you so much and you are always in my thoughts, and I hope to see you someday.
What I witnessed and experienced during the current military offensive on Gaza is indescribable.
The current Israeli military offensive on the Gaza Strip this month, code-named “Operation Protective Edge” by Israeli officials, is very close to my house. The operation claimed the lives of over 230 Palestinians and injured over 1690 in 10 days, most of them are civilians.
The Israeli military attack on Gaza, where I live, entered its second week, and it’s getting worse day after day, and the death toll of civilians continues to rise.
Palestine has no navy, no air force and no army. What’s happening in Gaza is not war, it’s genocide. In Gaza, we neither have shelters nor sirens, and there is nowhere safe. The Israeli warplanes have bombed, and continue to bomb homes, ministerial buildings, mosques, NGOs, banks and charities throughout the densely-populated Gaza Strip. Every day in Gaza is more painful and heart breaking than the past. Everyone here is terrorized and traumatized from the never-ending bombardments. What’s happening in Gaza is catastrophic beyond words and it is very hard to make sense of the current situation or make future predictions. The Israeli attacks on Gaza are escalating, and the Israeli military navy is shelling from the sea, the F-16 warplanes, Apache helicopters and drones from the sky, and the tanks from the ground .. where to hide?!
Since the start of the Israeli offensive on Gaza, Israeli warplanes have been bombing and shelling several locations in the area near our house. With each bombardment, we felt our house shake like an earthquake and our windows break, not to mention our fear and horror. We don’t have electricity for more than 16 hours a day, but this is something we got used to, since, before the Israeli aggression, for nearly 5 years, we lived with only four to six hours of electricity a day, many times only having it after 3:00am.
Our house comprises of three floors. I live with my parents downstairs, and my two married brothers live with their families in apartments upstairs. We have to leave windows open all day and night to prevent them from shattering from the bombardments. We have 13 young children at home, and all of my family, including my brothers and their families, are staying with us in one crowded room at our home downstairs, in the dark, to seek shelter. We prefer to die all together if a missile would strike. We always wait for fate, and we either survive or die. My younger nephews and nieces are very scared all of the time and don’t sleep well. They refuse to go to the toilet on their own, we take turns accompanying them. The bombings continue, day and night, and we don’t stop feeling scared. We hardly get any sleep.
We are also subject to psychological pressures as we keep hearing that a friend, a relative or a neighbor has been killed or injured. There is nowhere to hide from the bombings in the whole of Gaza because the Israeli warplanes are indiscriminately targeting all areas.
Yesterday, the Israeli warplanes bombed my cousin’s building and destroyed it completely. The building is not far away from my home. The warplanes first hit the building with a warning missile, and then less than 5 minutes later they hit it with a huge missile. The building consists of 6 floors, and each floor consists of 3 apartments. This means 12 families became homeless at once. Some got injured, and thank God no one got killed. I’m afraid our turn is coming. Very scary!!
As if the bombings were not enough, we also receive daily recorded phone calls from the Israeli army to intimidate and terrorize us. In these recorded calls, the army asks us to follow their instructions and obey their orders for our own safety.
The Israeli warplanes also dropped leaflets in Arabic all over the Gaza Strip to intimidate and terrorize Gazans even more. In one of the leaflets, the army orders people to leave their areas immediately. Palestinian families from Northern Gaza evacuated their homes and moved to UNRWA schools in Gaza city to seek shelter.
We are very concerned and afraid. No one has any idea what is going to happen in the coming days. We live on the southwest side of the Jabaliya refugee camp which makes us next in line if the Israeli ground forces decide to advance, as they said they would. My sisters live in the refugee camps around Gaza City and I’m sick worrying about them too.
No one here leaves home unless there is something extremely urgent. Walking through the streets of Gaza city where I live can be a real nightmare. The warplanes and drones are in the sky all the time and you can’t anticipate what will happen in next minute. Are they going to target a car behind you or in front of you? Will you be caught in the blast? Will others be dying right that minute somewhere else? Will others be forced to leave their home in 5 minutes only to be bombed 2 minutes later?
The shelling is still continuous till this moment, and we are waiting for our turn to get bombed. It can happen any minute.
What’s happening in Gaza is a “planned humanitarian disaster” and a real crime against humanity. If anyone does not believe it, I ask them to visit for him or herself. Despite this extremely difficult situation, we are still holding on, waiting for this round of violence to end, and the siege on Gaza to be lifted and hoping with it the occupation will also leave our lives once and for all.
Please keep praying for us.
LOVE & HUGS,
……

I’ve just seen the Daily Mail article on banning of demonstrating on this matter in France:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2697194/Outrage-France-country-world-ban-pro-Palestine-demos.html
It is a strange reflection on this current topsy-turvy world that the Mail are now the apparent protectors of democracy… I first noted in their article on last week’s demonstration in London, which other mmedia were avoiding.
However…
Regarding comments to the above Daily Mail article some are calling for something similar in the UK. Or will the blasting of a water cannon at protestors be sufficient to pacify this noisy “bomb the bastards” minority?
Good article by Barnaby Raine on Jews who’ll be demonstrating today:

St Theresa was asked about the water cannons when she appeared before Vaz and co’s committee about Butler-Sloss. She had quite a hard time of it but it was probably choreographed for our benefit.
She said the water cannons are now in the country and that she is waiting for reports on the medical aspects of their use. In other words, she’s got the wind up in case someone is blinded as a German man was, or gets killed. She is withholding her consent for their use in this country until she has studied the reports.
Tell us where they being stored Boris, you Bullingdon boy buffoon/thug and PM in waiting?

In response to a statement by the Foreign Secretary, Sir Nicholas Soames (Con) opens “This is not just a war about rockets from both sides, but it is actually a war about illegal settlements and stolen land. And what is the next big political move? I have sat here these last 30 years and heard the same statement every year”
Chapeau
So who is stopping this “big political move”?

Dear Friends,
On Wednesday and Thursday, thousands of calls were made to members of the Senate Appropriations Committee asking them to oppose an additional $621 million in tax payer money for Israel’s missile defense programs for 2015 (part of the Department of Defense Appropriations Act, HR 4870). The same bill would cut $500 million from the American defense budget.
The appropriations committee approved the extra funding to Israel yesterday morning in a unanimous voice vote, but the bill still has to go before the full Senate for debate and passage. We will initiate another round of calls as that date draws closer (likely in September).
As most of you know, U.S. tax payers already give Israel $3.1 billion per year in directly military aid. On top of that, Congress has given Israel nearly $3 billion more for missile defense programs during 2006-2014.
We must remember that lawmakers will not stand up to AIPAC overnight, as most of them face immense pressure. The good news, though, is that some staff members working for senators told us on the phone that the senators actually agreed with our position!
Countering AIPAC requires us to build a grassroots movement of committed American voters who will vote according to candidates’ stances on Palestine, and who will also work for those candidates by ringing doorbells, making phone calls, etc.
Thank you to all who took time to make these calls and who are helping us advance this movement!
Best regards,
The If Americans Knew team

GAZA an enclosed open air shooting gallery. The Israelis talk about cutting the grass. Seems to me more like shooting fish in a barrel. The Americans, the french poodle and the bull dog created the situation in the first place after the First World War and now are determined to defend their ” mistakes” whatever the cost.

Good to shout in the sun though. Friendly crowd. Said hello to Alexis Sayle. All in all a very enjoyable waste of time.
