Standard Life Far Right Board 401

Standard Life’s Far Right Board needs exposing:

Keith Skeoch, Executive Director of Standard Life, is on the Board of Reform Scotland, the neo-conservative lobby group which wants to abolish the minimum wage, privatize the NHS and pensions, and still further restrict trade unions.

It is difficult for Tories openly to campaign against Scottish Independence as everyone in Scotland hates them, so they do it with their corporate hats on. This is most of the board of Standard Life:

Garry Grimstone, Chairman, “lead non-executive” at the Ministry of Defence, London

Keith Skeoch, Executive Director, right wing political lobbyist

Crawford Gillies, Non Executive Director, Chairman of Control Risk Group, of London, the “security consultancy” of choice for ex MI5 and MI6 officers

Noel Harwerth, non-executive Director, Director of “London First” – [Honestly, I am not making this up]

David Nish – Chief Executive, Member of the “UK Strategy Committee” of “TheCity UK”. “TheCity UK” being a body of the City of London.

John Paynter, non-executive Director, was vice chairman of JP Morgan Cazenove until the 2008 crash

Amazing that lot oppose independence, huh?

Standard Life also threatened to leave at the time of the devolution referendum and gave out No campaign materials to staff. “Leave” of course is a relative concept – the above bunch just pop up from London from time to time to check on how the serfs are doing.

I published this information on 27 February when they last tried to influence the independence debate. Standard Life is again trying today to influence the referendum campaign by a press release claiming it will move key departments to London in the event of independence, enthusiastically amplified by the BBC, Guardian and all the other reactionary media.

Well, here is an opposing press release, from me. If anybody thinks that an Independent Scotland will be a place where major strategic companies can still be controlled by swivel-eyed right wing ideologues, they may get a very nasty shock from the people of Scotland.

Airdrie, Scotland. The PO has trapped and is refusing to deliver 2,500 postal votes, claiming ‘administrative error’. Will keep you informed.

  • guano

Can anyone explain to me why the result of the vote is permanent while our membership of the EU is in question just a few decades after its inception?

USUKIS policy on Syria changes hourly. Those nice terrorists who share their USUKIS weapons like sandwiches with those nasty ones, and with John McCain, and who get bussed in and out of Turkey in new US humvees, must be wondering if they’re holding the map upside down.

thanks for the points on 9/11.. sounds like what i once read….Bush’s Here Bush’s There…

    Mod’s i still haven’t had Fedup’s Email through.

    Vronsky…so it’s started then..Bastards Admin error…WHAT…You WHAT.

    Ot. But
Get this piece of lying shit…Cruz still thought he could waltz into a hall, and say this… People know Know –

Ted Cruz praises Israel and gets booed off stage at D.C. Christian conference –

” Good evening. Today we are gathered at a time of extraordinary challenge. Tonight we are all united in defense of Christians.

    APPLAUSE
Tonight we are all united in defense of Jews.
    APPLAUSE
Tonight we are all united in defense of people of good faith who are standing together against those who would persecute and murder those who dare to disagree with their religious teachings.
    APPLAUSE
Religious bigotry is a cancer with many manifestations. ISIS, Al Qaeda, Hezbollah, Hamas, and their state sponsors like Syria and Iran, are all engaged in a vicious genocidal campaign to destroy religious minorities in the Middle East.
Sometimes we are told not to lump these groups together, but we have to understand their so-called nuances and differences. But we shouldn’t try to parse different manifestations of evil that are on murderous rampage through the region. Hate is hate and murder is murder.
Our purpose here tonight is to highlight a terrible injustice, a humanitarian crisis. Christians are being systematically exterminated.
In 1948 Jews throughout the Middle East faced murder and extermination and fled to the nation of Israel. And today Christians have no better ally than the Jewish state.
    AUDIENCE: stop it, stop it…boooh
Cruz: Let me say this: those who hate Israel hate America.
    AUDIENCE: no
Cruz: And those who hate Jews hate Christians.
    AUDIENCE: boooh–
Cruz: And if this room will not recognize that, then my heart weeps that the men and women here will not stand in solidarity with Jews and Christians alike who are persecuted by radicals who seek to murder them.
    APPLAUSE
If you hate the Jewish people you are not reflecting the teachings of Christ–
AUDIENCE: nobody said we hate the Jews…the meeting is for the Christians…
Cruz: And the very same people who persecute and murder Christians right now, who crucify Christians, who behead children, are the very same people who target and murder Jews for their faith for the same reason.
    APPLAUSE
AUDIENCE: …is not fighting Jews, it is fighting Christians…
    I will say this–
    AUDIENCE: don’t say anymore…enough…that is enough…enough
THE PRESIDENT OF IDC: please respect the…
Cruz: I am saddened to see some here, not everyone, but some here are so consumed with hate–
AUDIENCE: We are not consumed with hate, no, you are consumed with hate–
Cruz: …if you will not stand with Israel and Jews, then I will not stand with you. Thank you and God bless you.

@Fedup. It’s what’s happened after 9/11 that is the crime of the century…

If they get away with it once… they’ll try it again, and again…

    We all know that.

But some of us got seduced by Blair, or maybe Chirac?

So we’ve only got ourselves to blame. I didn’t even bother to demonstrate against Afghanistan, even though I knew what was happening was very, very, wrong. People were waking up a bit by the time of Iraq, but the wheels of war were already turning… already too late. I won’t do “Sympathy for the Devil” again, but I’m sure you’ll know what I mean.

Will the world stand by stupefied yet again?

We never voted to join the EU. We never voted to join the then EEC either, we joined in ’73, all it required was Ted Heath’s signature; the referendum vote was whether to stay in or leave. There was a full-on media backing for staying in, with those wanting to stay out i.e. leave, spanning a wide political spectrum, from Michael Foot and Barbara Castle to Enoch Powell, all of whom were all marginalised and ridiculed.

It was nothing like the media campaign however against Scottish Independence, this is unprecedented in its vileness, and naked dishonesty, the tide of sewage spilling from the BBC particularly is nauseating, breaching every possible guideline, contract and obligation. There is no way back for this disgusting organisation, the lights will be going oot at Pacific Quay. Their license fee is an unenforceable voluntary subscription, nothing more, and as such entirely optional, it is for them to prevent reception or unscrambling by non-license holders, a mass-produced cheap decoder and card provided to licensed mugs, is all that is necessary. The idea of TV licensing is not something which should be repeated in an independent Scotland, alternative funding for news and current affairs programming must be found. Any monies paid now to the BBC, will be for TV licensing far into the future, many paying now for licenses, not beginning until the first quarter of 2015 and valid until 2016, which will not be recoverable, though it is obvious, the BBC as far as Scotland is concerned, will be history, in just a few days infact. Many older people short of the miserly concession of a ‘free’ license at 75 years old, too are asking how come the kids are watching the same programs on their phones and tablets, without licenses, and how is it that they through the BBC license are funding naked propagandising abroad, including Ukranian services.

On 11/09/01. What hijackers? Planes? Unless you were personally in Noo Yawk and seen planes hitting the buildings, with one or preferably two Mk.1 eyeballs, you have nothing but mere suggestion and a handful of plants, that seen the ‘de planes, Boss’. Otherwise all you’ve seen are some special effects, a few flickering frames of computer animation overlaid, something any late-90s PC or games console was easily capable of. If you’d been looking up all you’d have seen were some explosions erupting from whatever tower, and afterwards damage in the rough shape of a ‘plane’, sort of like in the cartoons when the road runner runs at and through a brick wall. Facts are the WTC building’s steel was thicker than tank armour, any plane would have just have smacked into it and crumpled like a coke-can fired at an anvil, at any speed. The rest we seen was real, damage, smoke and then the unlikely and very distinctive collapses triggered by deep underground nuclear explosions of buildings 1, 2 and 7 -devices installed when the buildings were constructed and deliberately, by the official chain of command, set off. What hit the Pentagon and its failure to detonate, is another story. Denial of what your senses, your brain told you happened on that day when those towers collapsed, when the news could not or would not state the bleeding obvious, is futile.

Nick Robinson. What a piece of work. Thick too. Leaving his modus operandi on video for the world to see.

Years ago, on Test Match Special, I heard him being interviewed in the tea interval. He was there with his son. He spoke of being Jewish and of his strong feelings and support for Israel. I could never find a recording of the piece. I was surprised that he made this revelation. Perhaps the hospitality had loosened his tongue. 🙂

Great joke from a US commenter on the Indyref –

    QUOTE:

Speaking of Scotland, one of today’s news headlines seems to me to mean something they did not intend:

    Republic of Scotland

“Unfortunately according to Sky news two coach loads of Westminster sycophants, have arrived and are preaching their mantra.”

By their fruit shall ye know them. J.C. pbuh

Unfortunately, the originally Calvinist ( Jewish ) Church of Scotland, representative Bilderberg Brown, is an agency of religious corruption controlling the voice of the people against the tyrants who colonise this world. Gordon Brown colluded in the biggest scam ever, the Zionist theft of banking assets to fund the colonial War on Islam.

Unfortunately the Muslim Brotherhood, a Masonic club set up in Egypt by the British to fulfil the same function, i.e. control the voice of people against state corruption, has become an agency inside Islam of spreading spying on Muslims and neo-colonial war against Muslim territories to all the different groups, such as Deobandi, Ahle Hadith, Salafi and others.

British penetration 100 years ago of the corrupt monarchy into the Scottish myth and 100 years ago of the corruption of Takfirism, violence against Muslims by Muslims, have both been remarkably successful so far as the British and their proxy Zionist state of Israel are concerned.

You Scots have a chance of disrupting that system of injustice and inhumanity, cutting off the religious slogans used by the freemasons, whether it be Gordon Brown’s socialist colonialism, working tax credit and War on Terror perpetrated by the UK governments of both persuasions.

How we cut off the oxygen of vast Middle-Eastern oil wealth fuelling false jihad, the killing of Muslims by Muslims, is another problem. The other denominations in Islam have all rolled over and submitted to the temptation of easy collaboration with the wheels of power through its agency.

I have no doubt that all of the terrorist groups in the Middle East ( and Ukraine ) are agents of MI5/6 and CIA. The starting point of any change is to recognise your enemy, and stick a spanner or wooden clog in its works to break its machinery.

The onslaught of political chicanery led by BilderberGordon Brown against Scottish Independence this week reminds me of footage of Shi’a white horses parading through Baghdad last month under Noori (not) Maliki as the city was surrounded by ISIL fighters.

Had a great laugh just two minutes ago.
The CEO of Wetherspoon’s (pubs etc)-sounded like an antipode) was being interviewed on Radio 4.
All the usual stuff about business then he was asked about independence.
Immediately said there was no problem with independence and much of what has been said is rubbish and there were many small countries that were very successful abd in effect endorsed the Yes campaign.

The interviewer( female) almost choked as she rushed to stop him going off the program script. She didn’t manage. He then went on to say it was a great campaign and shows how democracy can work and it could be a model for Eastern Europe(he mentioned Ukraine and Russia).
Anyway the rising panic in the interviewer simply revealed her and the program’s prejudices.
She tried to move him on to how difficult the transition would be. He demurred-inevitable but not unmanageable.
I will get my coffee at Wetherspoons now.

    2. Kashmir debate:
    – Steve Baker: “Three foreign policy issues are of acute interest to my constituents: Israel and Palestine, Sri Lanka and Kashmir.” ….. “If we just look at Israel and Palestine for a moment, we see the danger of platitudes combined with inaction. For far too long, it has been possible for the British Government to say that the Israeli settlements in the west bank are illegal and then to do nothing. That double standard has created enormous outrage—great gales of anger.” [extracts]

    – Shabana Mahmood: “We have had debates on Israel, Palestine and the recent fighting in Gaza. I see nothing wrong and nothing to be ashamed of in the British Parliament’s having a debate today about the situation in Kashmir.” [extract]

    – Jason McCartney: “I am proud of the response from the Department for International Development in troubled spots in the world. I am a staunch defender of that budget, and I support the great things that we are doing in places such as Gaza.” [extract]

    – Andrew Griffiths: Rebukes previous speakers in the debate for suggesting that this debate should not be taking place at all. He singles out Barry Gardiner, saying: “I gently point out to him that a look at his Hansard appearances shows that in the last few weeks he has spoken about Gaza, Israel and Ukraine, so there is a precedent for us to talk about international issues.”

In fact if oil was at twenty two pounds per barrel at the eve of the Iraq war, and it never rose beyond that, due to more wars, and more nostrums of the same in the “ark of instability” what would have happened to the dollar? It would have been so plentiful that would make Weimar republic run (money printing) look positively mundane. (Fedup)

It’s so simple, isn’t it? Force the price up, print money to cover the difference and pocket it. But what it means is that exactly the same amount of imaginary money has been printed, backed only by the arbitrary value assigned to an asset which has now been burnt. It used to be called inflation, but now I believe it’s referred to as growth….

  • Peacewisher

@Mary. Probably something to do with The Mail’s owners. I prefer The Mail to The Sun! Sometimes e.g. hairdressers, fast coffee outlet, they are the only two available… Over the years (particularly at the week-end) they have pursued lots of cranky stories that other newspapers didn’t cover. They were also against the Iraq war.

However, they seem to have a nasty racist, British Nationalist, hysterically pro-Monarchist streak which a lot of their readers seem to like. Scottish Nationalism would run contrary to this, so they attack it. That’s my take anyway.

  • Ba'al Zevul (For Scotland)

Afterthought – the price of oil, or any other fuel, is not the price of a commodity. It’s the market rate for leave to set fire to it…

All these economic arguments are so much vulgar tosh. On balance there probably is an economic advantage to Unionism, but it changes with time and fortunes go up and down.

The question isn’t even about “Independence” or worse “Freedom” and thus, by dishonest implication, “Dependence” and “Servility”; it’s about Unionism and Separatism. Do you feel kinship and fraternity with the rest of the people in these islands or don’t you? If you don’t, vote ‘Yes’; you are being honest with yourself and you are being honest with everybody else.

I see Nick Clegg is sounding off about regional parliaments for the rest of the country. Well, why wouldn’t he! It is, I’m afraid, an unavoidable consequence of ‘devo max’ and I dare say he knows a few people who also ‘would not sow and dare not rob’ – mouthy mediocrities with over-blown ideas of themselves who are ideally placed to fill the non-jobs thus created at the taxpayer’s expense. Whoopee!

regional parliaments for the rest of the country

Yeah the current parliament with its ring of steel and Praetorian guards, surrounded by massive structures of cement and steel, projecting the fear and foreboding befitting any respectable palace of oppression and coercion, is in need of further isolation, from the unwashed and the blackguards to man of them. Hence there is a need for an interface layer, kind of go between the unwashed and the oh so selected bunch ensconced in the palace of the Westminster; ergo the “regional parliaments”. what will be the next constructs, the Parish Parliament?

Clearly out of touch selected free loaders, are taking a lesson from their masters, and setting up constructs to control without the inconvenience of ever dealing with we the people up close and personal. Who knows with all these exotic illnesses roaming around the poor free loaders maybe in danger of catching the something untoward? They know that with all the privatisations of the NHS there is going to be a lot of ill malnourished, out of work and expectant; “bio terrorists” zombies roaming around so best make provisions to counter any dangers of transmitted diseases, and such an eventuality and hand over to the minions in the “regional Parliaments”.

‘In a blog post today, David McWilliams writes:

Mark Carney claimed yesterday that a currency union between an independent Scotland and the rest of the UK would be at odds with sovereignty.

This is simply scaremongering. After all, an independent Ireland had a perfectly functioning currency union with the UK from 1922 to 1979. ‘

That currency union Mochyn was ‘perfectly functioning’ because the Irish simply had no input into the management of it- they had no say, for example, in the timing or execution of the 2 post war sterling devaluations. This isn’t the model that Salmond wants for his chimerical ‘currency union’ post 2016, so McWilliams’ comment isn’t applicable here. It would however be applicable if ‘Sterlingisation’ occurred- ie if Scotland continued to use the pound but not as part of a formal currency union.

  • MJ

TORTURE Quotes of the day from Reprieve
In 2008, then-Foreign Secretary David Miliband admitted that CIA rendition flights had used Diego Garcia:

The following is a short timeline of developments in 2014 regarding Diego Garcia flight records:

8 July: MPs informed of “water damage” to Diego Garcia flight records.
15 July: Foreign Office Minister Mark Simmonds told the Commons that “previously wet paper records have been dried out…no flight records have been lost as a result of the water damage.”
    12 September: Minister tells Foreign Affairs Committee that “a small number of immigration cards completed by civilians entering the Territory have been damaged to the point of no longer being useful.” {civilians = either CIA or maybe Libyan ‘rebels’ & family}

Suspiciously there was a lack of any indication of “extremely heavy weather” in FCO records for Diego Garcia….

Foreign Office minister Baroness Warsi neither confirmed nor denied whether the US had sought permission to use Diego Garcia for rendition in 2004 when questioned in Parliament this July…
