Neo-Con Speed Dating 207

The TV debates for the Westminster election will offer you a dazzling range of neo-con policies from right wing to very right wing. Conservative, Labour, Liberal or UKIP, any flavour of corporate neo-con control that you like. It is a kind of weird speed dating circle between Cameron, Clegg, Miliband and Farage.

If it had been UKIP with thousands of supporters on George Square yesterday, does anybody doubt the rally would have received much more coverage. The decision about the election debates could not offer starker proof of my thesis that UKIP is an antibody produced by the establishment in response to voter disillusion with the lack of real policy difference between mainstream parties. Protest is to be diverted into a right wing channel that really offers no difference at all.

The fact that UKIP and the Lib Dems are to participate in the electoral debates, whereas the Greens, Plaid Cymru and the SNP – all of which offer genuine alternatives to the neo-con narrative – are not, is indefensible. The SNP will win more MPs than the Liberal Democrats and the Greens will have more votes. UKIP have just won their first ever elected MP – which means they have finally caught up with the Greens. Given equal media access, I expect the Green vote would exceed the UKIP vote too – which is precisely the outcome the broadcasters are desperate to avoid.

The voters must not be shown that other choices, other visions, other policies are possible. You can choose any neo-con you wish.

Norwegian Doctor Mads Gilbert on the Israeli attack on Gaza (2014)
From the video blurb at vimeo:

What can now be said about the massive Israeli attacks on Gaza the summer of 2014? The Norwegian medical doctor Mads Gilbert was there. In this 10-minute interview/essay by Truls Lie of Le Monde diplomatique (Scandinavia), Dr. Gilbert contemplates the attacks, what it means to be defined “a terrorist”, the people he met at Al-Shifa hospital, and why peace for all has to begin with Israel ending the occupation and suppression of the Palestinian people – and lift the siege of Gaza.

Daniel: Yes I include George Galloway in that list.
He does not take the Israeli Shekel nor is he a FOI,but his decision do the Palestinians no favours.
As for the FOI, MP’s of the UK should not be under the yoke of any other Nation or do its bidding. It is treachery.50% of our Parliament is one hell of a 5th column.

“But with the amendments it became:

That this House believes that the Government should recognise the state of Palestine alongside the state of Israel on the conclusion of successful peace negotiations between the Israeli government and the Palestinian Authority as a contribution to securing a negotiated two state solution.

Israel, as I’m sure you know, has no intention of allowing a two-state solution; Israel will not dismantle the illegal settlements and outposts; it will not lift the siege on Gaza; it will continue to annex West Bank land and East Jerusalem. Thus there can be no successful peace negotiations.”

    Yup, they’re twisters.

A bit like you, in fact, when you assure us that you recognise the right of Israel to exist provided it doesn’t call itself a Jewish state (variant: provided it returns to its intended 1947/8 borders).

Reassuring to note that you do seem to care about the UK and its Parliament – I was beginning to have my doubts.

Allow me therefore to congratulate you on your newly found loyalty to the UK.

You’re a good egg underneath that gruff exterior. 🙂

    “Doug Scorgie.

No that’s not the motion passed as the first proposed amendment was never put.

Squonk has duly corrected you. It was obvious that the version you gave (your post at 00h08), which included the two amendments one after the other, made no sense at all and anyone less intent on trying to show how clever he was would have spotted that immediately.

So the moral is, Doug, that you should always check your facts before rushing off to your keyboard.

    Will you remember that?

  • Habbabkuk (La vita è bella) !

“Why is Hamas is so popular with ordinary Palestinians?

The answer is so obvious it need not be stated.”
    ________________________

What is less obvious – judging by your silence (and that of the other Eminences)- is why posters on this blog never, ever mention Hamas or Hizbollah by name when they are spouting on about the Israel/Palestine conflict.

That’s strange because – as you appear to have just pointed out – Hamas and Hizbollah are major players in the Israel/Palestine conflict.

So why the coyness about mentioning them by name? 🙂

  • DoNNyDarKo

Habbablind:You just don’t see because you don’t want to.They are mentioned. Now tell me why they(Hezbollah & Hamas) are so bad.How many Israeli citizens did they kill combined last year?Give us a few pointers please.

Galloway never took a dime. You’Re part of the disinformation apparatus therefore you should know, allegedly.

I support my nation ,does that show disloyalty ? Or are you trying to say that the 50% of Parliament are Israeli therefore they are showing loyalty to that country ?

As long as Westminster are making decisions on foreign policy and many important issues for Scotland I shall show an interest, just as you do with the Knesset.
This does not mean that I believe in the UK.It’s past its sell by date in my eyes. And in any case ,it’s not united. There’s a rogue element in charge doing WTF they want and the North dont agree with the south, and most disagree that London should have 90% of the pie.
And this latest nonsense with the unfair distribution of BBC airtime on national TV is a case in point. But there is a united effort to f*** Scotland and its time we left.

“You have no friends, well maybe Fred, the sheep farmer…Baaaaa!”

I have not entered into this debate, I have said not one word in this thread.

But still the Nationalist Blackshirts bully and intimidate. Still I am harassed by totally unprovoked personal attacks.

Look at them, all the same, Neo Nazis, Zionists, EDL, BNP and SNP all the same, all bullies and thugs.

    Fuck off and die retard.

Why are you getting so hot under the collar – was it because I congratulated you on your new-found loyalty to the UK and its institutions, as evidenced by your post at 06h09?

You musn’t feel ashamed, Donny, loyalty to your country is no bad thing. And if it gets you into trouble with your fellow-Eminences, well, hey, you’re man enough to stand firm, aren’t you!

Have a great (and loyal) day, Donny.

  • DoNNyDarKo

Not me habbawrong:We can always tell when you’ve been overheating or the shift change.
And you still havent answered the questions on HIZBOLLAH AND HAMAS.Is this day 3 since you’ve avoided the answer?
The truth is you have no answers ,just a lousy script and a target list that you’re handed every morning.
I’m having a great day and Habbinfun.
Why don’t you run to the aid of your farming friend in need ? Seems the delusions and paranoia are getting worse. Why it could even be you ?

Surely you must realise by now DoNNyDarKo that a two-state solution is not on the cards. The Zionists want all the land that is currently populated by Palestinians and more if they can get it.

Complete ethnic cleansing of East Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza is the ultimate aim; even if it takes another 60+ years.

The non-binding farce of a vote in the House of Commons only gives false hope to a desperate people.

The Zionists have been upset by the vote even though it was purely symbolic, which gives you an indication of their determination to prevent any progress for the Palestinians.

Zionism is racist and the Zionist organisations of the world should be treated as such.

George Galloway is right to move for a single democratic and secular state and abstain from the futile vote yesterday.

The state of Israel is recognised officially by the UK, even though it has no defined borders and is guilty of countless breaches of international law, whereas Palestine is not, even after this vote, officially recognised.

It just perpetuates the myth that there can be a viable two-state solution when one side (Israel) has blocked and will block all attempts to reach an agreement while continuing to expand.

If there is no two-state solution on the cards DoNNyDarKo, what is left for the Palestinians?

The trawl for terrrrrists continues apace.

    Six arrested by anti-terror police

Three men and three women from Portsmouth, Farnborough and Greenwich are being held in connection with a police anti-terrorism operation.

Thames Valley Police said the six, aged between 23 and 57, were arrested by the South East Counter Terrorism Unit.

They said the arrests were related to the conflict in Syria and were “not linked to any immediate threat to local communities”.

On Monday, anti-terrorism police arrested three men in central London.

The men, aged 21, 24 and 25, were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism.

Tuesday’s arrests involved two men, aged 26 and 23, from Portsmouth, a 23-year-old woman from Farnborough, and a 29-year-old woman from Greenwich, south-east London, who were all arrested on suspicion of commission, preparation and instigation of acts of terrorism.

A 57-year-old man from Portsmouth was arrested for failing to disclose information about acts of terrorism, for engaging in conduct in preparation of terrorist acts and arranging availability of money and property for use in terrorism.

A 48-year-old woman from Portsmouth was also arrested for failing to disclose information about acts of terrorism.

A trial being held in secret reveals that there was a plot to kill the BLiars. That is based on the fact that the accused had their address in his car.

You said yesterday that you’ve often mentioned them in earlier posts of yours but curiously enough you’ve not yet responded to my invitation to provide some links to those mentions.

Have you been economical with the truth yet again, Doug?

You don’t get a second chance of you’re unlucky enough to be standing next to a bomb when it goes off.

Ask the relatives of the people blown up on leafy Surrey – Guildford, I believe.

Those arrested will be speedily released if there is no case against them, and those against whom there is a case will be tried according to law.

    Sounds fair to me.
