Theresa May Must Resign 212

There was never any doubt that the accusation of terrorism against Moazzam Begg was, once again, a tissue of politically motivated lies. What is still more appalling, I am told by a Home Office source that the decision to arrest and detain him was taken by Theresa May herself. This involvement of politicians in the abuse of individuals by the state is appalling.

Jacqui Smith did the same thing as Home Secretary, grandstanding about her role in the front page arrest of twelve Muslims in the North West of England, not one of whom was charged with any offence. The “bomb ingredient” the police found on that occasion turned out to be nothing but sugar.

Theresa May was lording it at the Tory party conference with a ludicrous speech about combating the “terrorist menace” which we are bombing Iraq to enhance, not decrease. At the same time as being acclaimed for further attacks on civil liberties, she was responsible for the completely unjustified imprisonment of the Muslim community’s most elegant spokesman against abuses, including torture, of state power against Muslims.

The other disgusting aspect of this case is the complicity of the judicial system with the state in the abuse of liberty by right wing politicians. There are no longer any effective checks on executive power in the British state. To cap this cycle of total power, Sky News last night were suggesting (and I understand behind the Murdoch paywall it is being propagated today) that Moazzam really is a terrorist and had been released as an appeasement to aid Islamic State British hostages. This total lie is a further snide attack by the terror state.

The truth of the persecution of Begg, who was detained to stop him researching British complicity in extraordinary rendition to Syria by Blair and Straw, is evidently something the Establishment does not want to enter a wider public consciousness.

In any decent society, Theresa May would have to resign over her involvement in the appalling mistreatment of Moazzam Begg. Instead she is touted as a future Prime Minister for the toughness on “terrorism”. That tells you everything about what a stinking, corrupt society the United Kingdom now has become.

Couldn’t agree more that May ought to resign. She has the skin of a walrus. It is not just Moazzam Begg. Abu Qatada’s children were abused and bullied by other children when he was protrayed as being a terrorist. He had to wear a tag and had curfews imposed on what times he could go out. He was innocent too. Then there was that ‘walls have ears’ type campaign where adverts instructed the good British public to report any unusual activities of Muslims, with vans going round advertising for Muslims to “Go Home”. She will not allow Abu Qatada back in the UK despite his acquittal in Jordan (probably because he is a former services recruit). There are countless other deportations, extra-judicial killings and extraditions against Muslims predominantly for which anybody with an ounce of decency would step down. But as Republic of the Universe says, she won’t. She is an out-and-out racist. I have tried to raise her un-Christian attitude with the A of C. In my opinion she should be excommunicated from the C of E.

I wouldn’t mind betting there are aspirant novelists sitting on their loos thinking “ah ha “THE ASSASSINATION OF TERESA MAY”.

  • nevermind, there's a future, still

‘m afraid I agree with RotU, she has not got the spine and backbone and she is not Scottish.
Two weeks ago Alex Salmon, despite loosing to cheats and imaginary voters, despite counted ballot slips without any numbers on them, despite ballot boxes being transported by single people in the back of private cars, despite all that he showed responsibility and resighned his leadership.

Theresa Nay, I rather like your faux pas, our posingly strident and ambitious countess Dracula, has not got one gram of responsibility that can’t be hidden behind her veiled leadership ambitions, its enough to make you wretch dice.

You so excellently summarised the reality of our public media structure today, acting on behalf of the status quo and established disharmony when you point to the complicity with this.

“The truth of the persecution of Begg, who was detained to stop him researching British complicity in extraordinary rendition to Syria by Blair and Straw, is evidently something the Establishment does not want to enter a wider public consciousness”

I have seen and heard Moazzam speak, softly and determined to right the wrongs that are being done in all our names, how could they have wronged such a sensitive man?
Shame on you all, Tony Blair, Jack Straw, Theresa May, and, this is were I slightly disagree, Craig, David Milliband, for using taxpayers money to forward your festering illegal agendas, your human rights abuses, not just with Moazzam but many others as well.

We should try and find out how much this has cost us taxpayers, the malingering ongoing stinkbombs these party politicians throw into our society, expenses that could have been avoided in a more egalitarian, fairly representative system.

In the tower with her, somehting to gope at for the tourists.

I think she’s waiting for Ebola to kick off here, so she can really get her teeth into civil liberties ans surveillance. You ain’t seen nothing yet, I fear.

“vans going round advertising for Muslims to “Go Home”.

Can you provide a source for this, John?

    Thanks in advance.

“In any decent society, Theresa May would”… be arrested and prosecuted for perverting the course of justice.

You are correct Craig, there are no more barriers to the establishment which is become more fascistic and totalitarianism each and every day.

But for someone who declared not too long ago your total disillusionment with the political process, I see from your last post that you’re still buying into it, for example, when you said “High wage economies generate a self-sustaining high domestic demand which keeps the economy growing.” Continual growth is not possible and attempts to achieve it lead to environmental destruction which will of course feedback and destroy continual growth. Econs and the political system operate hand in hand. You want a new political system then you gotta change the economic system too.

Anyway, wishing you all the best. I know your heart is in the right place.

“I know it says “Illegal immigrants”. They stopped the campaign because it was clear who they were targeting.”

This is classic John Goss. First he tells a lie, sort of admits to it, and then goes on to reiterate the lie. The vans, John, which were only ever a stunt anyway, were aimed at ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS, not Muslims. Is this understood?

We see this time and again with John Goss, whether it be his outlandish claims of the numbers killed by allied bombing of Dresden, or his howler the other day about the ‘indigenous’ of the Falkland Islands. Everyone can see he’s lying but he just bats on regardless as if nothing’s happened.

  • Richard

Theresa May is a disgrace; unfortunately, if you chuck a stick at either side of the House of Commons you’ll hit six of ’em. Having said that, I can’t help thinking that ultimately, we get the government we – as a collective – deserve.

    You’ve got him down to a t, Anon1.

Except that you could have added that when he’s been caught out lying he not only bats on regardless but also smears the person who’s pointed out he’s lying with names like “torturer”, “illiterate” or the standard “troll”.

But I suppose that’s what they teach you in the Party.

I suspect that there are many more than just Dreoilin who’ve also seen through him; they’re probably just emabarrassed to say so.

Yes Richard, but don’t you think the political turn off, the apathy and complacency that is fostered by this kindergarten of party political exchanges, is planned?

Wednesday question time, in todays internet age, is schoolyard stuff, the longest running show there is, fake opposition, all of them out for themselves. Ball claiming for schooltransport of his kids is priceless.

All councillors on Newham council are Labour, a council that wants to evict its poor tennants because they want to speculate, economic gerrymandering no different to that of Dame porter. Both parties are so far removed from their origins that barely any space exist between them, miniscule.

Taxcuts with openended commitments is another indicator of the Tory’s desperation to shine to the likeminded.

I should think if you chuck a stick anywhere near the House of Commons, you get nicked, so make sure its a big fat stick…;)

The problem is the “tough on terrorism, tough on the causes of terrorism”
line plays well in the shires, especially after they’ve been softneed up
    with breathless Aunty Beeb’s propaganda.
They are mostly too terrified and/or simple minded to realise that it is
their liberties that are being striped away.

Craig,On Radio 4 this morning they were saying that he had been heard stating that ISIS was recruiting the wrong kind of activist, they were too weak or something to that effect, and that his defence would have been that he was at that time helping the British secret service help ISIS in their war against Assad.
It sounded plausible (and I usually believe little of what I hear on this subject),is that bollocks?

IN my view Moazzam Begg deserves to be compensated because of the many injusticse he has suffered.

People’s judgment of whether Theresa May acted in good faith or bad faith seems to me to depend on whether they are well or ill-disposed towards the government in the first place. So I leave them to it.

  • Patrick Haseldine

    FROM WIKISPOOKS:

On 1 October 2014 it was announced that the seven Syria-related terror charges against him had been dropped, and that he would be released from HMP Belmarsh the same day. Moazzam Begg’s lawyer Gareth Peirce described him as a “brave” and “rare” individual. She said:
“There is nothing new that can have been discovered now that was not always crystal clear – that this is an innocent man.”

On 2 October 2014 Craig Murray called for Theresa May’s resignation:
“There was never any doubt that the accusation of terrorism against Moazzam Begg was, once again, a tissue of politically motivated lies. What is still more appalling, I am told by a Home Office source that the decision to arrest and detain him was taken by Theresa May herself. This involvement of politicians in the abuse of individuals by the state is appalling.”

Anon1 and Habbabkuk, the blog is about Theresa May being a racist and ought to resign. Stop the diversionary tactics of taking a clause out of context. They were not a stunt. They were just seen for what they were. Get back on topic twats.

  • Ba'al Zevul

Errr, sugar is a bomb ingredient.

Yup, when I go to the Co-op I always look for it on the halal bomb ingredient shelf, too. Practically anything organic can be. Did they find any flour? A gas cylinder would have had them cheering to the rafters.

  • Jives

    Excellent post Craig,thank you.

Theresa May is a dangerously unhinged individual governed more by her political ambition than sound judgement and integrity.

The worldwide sham that is the War On Terror continues.

The whole charade stinks to high heaven.

    Resign?

She should be in prison for these actions.

  • Jives

    Kempe,

“Errr, sugar is a bomb ingredient.”

Ergo; every household in the UK is a hotbed of terrorism…

I can’t believe you made that pathetic point there Kempe.

    Troll eejit.
