    In one more incredibly biased TV report from the Donetsk airport, a BBC journalist started accusing Donetsk self defense forces of breaking the ceasefire while almost getting killed by a Ukrainian “peace-loving” sticking-to-ceasefire shell.

    First, Ian Pannell, international BBC corespondent, implicitly accuses rebels of a “scorched earth policy”.

    Than in an almost surreal moment while saying that artillery fire “appears” to be mostly “outgoing”, there’s a clear and visible evidence of incoming Ukrainian fire, resulting in an dangerous explosion extremely close to and directly behind him.

    Danish Jews yesterday turned down an offer by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to emigrate to Israel following an attack on the main synagogue in Copenhagen, AFP reported.

    “We are very grateful for Netanyahu’s concern but having said that, we are Danish – we are Danish Jews but we are Danish – and it will not be terror that makes us go to Israel,” the spokesman of the Jewish community in Denmark Jeppe Juhl.

    “So we understand his concern for our well-being, and we value his concern but we are Danish and we are staying in Denmark. If we move to Israel it is for other reasons,” he told AFP.

    Southampton University has rejected calls to cancel a conference on Israel and international law, after the Jewish Leadership Council (JLC) said it would have a detrimental impact on cohesiveness.

    The conference, International Law and the State of Israel Legitimacy, Responsibility and Exceptionalism, is billed as the first of its kind, and is being organised by Southampton-based academic and former Israeli Oren Ben-Dor, and Palestinian-American law professor George Bisharat.

    A “totally shocking” report by one of the country’s most respected businessmen into how the NHS is being run must be published before the general election, MPs have said.

    A withering assessment of NHS management, by the Conservative peer Lord Stuart Rose, who is credited with turning around the fortunes of Marks & Spencer, was submitted to the Department of Health in December but has still not been published by the government.

    It is understood to paint a damaging picture of a culture in which mediocre managers can move around within the NHS without being held to account, while those who are successful go unrewarded.

    Lord Rose was appointed to carry out the review in February last year by Jeremy Hunt, the Health Secretary. At the time, the government said it hoped he would be able to advise on how the NHS could “attract and retain the very best leaders to help transform the culture in under-performing hospitals”.

    But one person who has seen the report told the Financial Times that Lord Rose, who is now chairman of online supermarket Ocado, had found the overall standard of much NHS management to be totally shocking.

    The National Security Agency has figured out how to hide spying software deep within hard drives, allowing them to monitor and eavesdrop on the majority of the world’s computers – even when they are not connected to the internet.

    The Moscow-based security software maker Kaspersky Lab said it has found personal computers in 30 countries infected with one or more of the spying programs, with the most infections seen in Iran, followed by Russia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, China, Mali, Syria, Yemen and Algeria.

    The targets included government and military institutions, telecommunication companies, banks, energy companies, nuclear researchers, media, and Islamic activists.

    The NSA began infecting computers in 2001 claims Kaspersky, ramping up their efforts in 2008 when President Barack Obama was elected.
    This ‘surpasses anything known in terms of complexity and sophistication of techniques, and that has been active for almost two decades,’ said Kaspersky.

    What’s more, even the makers of these hard drives are unaware that these spying programs have been installed, with the NSA obtaining their source codes by going so far as to pose as software developers according to former intelligence operatives, or telling the companies the government must do a security audit to make sure their source code is safe.

    According to Kaspersky, the spies made a technological breakthrough by figuring out how to lodge malicious software in the obscure code called firmware that launches every time a computer is turned on.

    Disk drive firmware is viewed by spies and cybersecurity experts as the second-most valuable real estate on a PC for a hacker, second only to the BIOS code invoked automatically as a computer boots up.

    The first is art (whatever it’s merit) that could only exist on the internet. It is not simply another form of art displayed on the net. It could only exist on the net. This is possibly unique.
