It definitely looks like the adverts on Russia Today have been pulled as I broke yesterday. In one way this is a good thing because it would not interfere with the continuity but for the fact that RT fills these gaps by advertising other programmes. The west is really scared that honest reporting might persuade a change in the opnions of those they have under their propaganda-control. It is another form of sanctions.

I think we need to set up a fund to save one of the few TV stations saying it as it is. Unlike UK TV channels I cannot recall ever seeing Vladimir Putin interviewed to get a point of policy across on a programme like The Andrew Marr Show. So no opportunity to throw your shoe at the telly. We know the BBC is funded by the taxpayer. I expect there is some big money behind the station and tried to find out using that honest freedom of expression tool Wipipedia to find out whose. I drew a blank. Perhaps this is the reason.

    “Guiltiness” (Bob Marley…)

    Guiltiness (talkin’ ’bout guiltiness)
Pressed on their conscience. Oh yeah.
And they live their lives (they live their lives)
    On false pretence everyday –
    each and everyday. Yeah.

    These are the big fish
Who always try to eat down the small fish,
    just the small fish.
I tell you what: they would do anything
To materialize their every wish. Oh yeah-eah-eah-eah.

    Say: Woe to the downpressors:
They’ll eat the bread of sorrow!
    Woe to the downpressors:
They’ll eat the bread of sad tomorrow!
    Woe to the downpressors:
They’ll eat the bread of sorrow!
    Oh, yeah-eah! Oh, yeah-eah-eah-eah!

    Guiltiness
Pressed on their conscience. Oh yeah. Oh yeah.
    These are the big fish
Who always try to eat down the small fish,
    just the small fish.

I tell you what: they would do anything
To materialize their every wish. Oh, yeah-eah-eah-eah-eah-eah.

    But: Woe to the downpressors:
They’ll eat the bread of sorrow!
    Woe to the downpressors:
They’ll eat the bread of sad tomorrow!
    Woe to the downpressors:
They’ll eat the bread of sad tomorrow!
    Oh, yeah-eah! Oh yeah-e-e-e-e-e!

    Guiltiness. Oh yeah. Ah!
They’ll eat the bread of sorrow everyday.

Despite evidence the shit-faced British Broadcasting Company (The BBC) continues to advance bollocks from the puppet-in-charge of enforcing US orders, the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, that Russia had direct involvement in the sniper fire which killed dozens of protesters in central Kiev a year ago.

Shame on you BBC, shame on you abandoned governors:

    Rona Fairhead
    Diane Coyle
    Sonita Alleyne
    Suzanna Taverne
    – forget the males

the amnemonic vesticles of life, who have failed in their so called duty of trust to convey love and truth; who fail to govern in a manner that protects the intention to cultivate, nurture and cherish the innocent orbs of life that are human.

You use the images of memorial, glory, dignity, majesty and immortality; of light and struggle to paint a canvas of treachery and deception, sculptured to defraud the gullible, to take advantage of the mass of babes, in a wood of ambiguity, to confuse the bewildered and frightened.

    Shame on you BBC

‘Ukraine crisis: ‘One miscalculation, and Britain faces an existential threat to our whole being…’

Oyez! Oyez! Oyez! Says top Nato tool.

The West faces a new and dangerous era of “constant competition” with Russia that carries a possible “existential threat to our whole being”, Britain’s most senior commander in Nato has warned.

Speaking as events on the grounds showed more evidence that the supposed ceasefire in Ukraine is in danger of collapse, General Sir Adrian Bradshaw, the Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe, said the West was facing twin threats from Russian President Vladimir Putin: modern “hybrid warfare” – the use of cyber attacks, political agitation and sabotage – combined with old-style Soviet land-grab tactics.’

    http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/ukraine-crisis-one-miscalculation-and-britain-faces-an-existential-threat-to-our-whole-being-10060709.html

    Another comment on Medialens –

‘Note the language of ‘existential threat’ taken directly from Zionism

Literally the only time I have heard the phrase ‘existential threat’ is from Zionists whining about whatever it is that zionists whine about.

But now it seems that Britain faces an ‘existential threat’ as well (how convenient).’

Call to Action: Protest Waitrose ‘Taste of Israel’ travel and food guide from the Boycott Israel Network

Some of you will have seen the reports of the Waitrose ‘Taste of Israel’ travel and food guide, which is at the checkouts in their stores. In case you missed it earlier see below report in todays ‘Morning Star’ and for more detail about the ‘Taste of Israel’ guide see http://www.bloomberg.com/research/markets/news/article.asp?docKey=600-201502161127M2______EUPR_____f99f0000041a666c_3600-1

We cannot allow this blatant promotion of the Israeli state tourism industry by Waitrose to go unchallenged. The guide, apart from its promotion of holidays in Israel, is full of examples of the misappropriation of Palestinian produce and dishes, and includes such ‘factoids’ as the fact that Israel is home to olive trees which are “Ubiquitous throughout Israel, some are 1,000 years old.”

Never a mention of course of who has planted and cared for these trees, or of the destruction of olive trees in pursuit of the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from their land.

This week we have seen the amazingly powerful launch of the cultural pledge by almost 1,000 (and counting) artists for Palestine. The Artists for Palestine website includes a section on ‘Palestine culture denied’, and Waitrose’s magazine is a vivid example of an attempt to erase Palestinian culture.

I hope that Waitrose will be faced with a storm of protest about its collusion with the Israel Government Tourist office.

@Mary: I see that the Ukrainian people are now waking up as the propaganda becomes ever more improbable.

The same will happen in the UK if these “experts” continue spouting such rot!

No adverts on RT, eh? Good! More time for serious analysis.

@Mark: No all BBC, though. Mark Komode, etc. were plugging the film “Maidan” yesterday on radio 5.

The aforementioned Bradshaw (existential threat) is not a baked bean. He is a ‘has been’.

Iraq and Afghanistan. They went well didn’t they!

But he’s OK. Plays polo. Must be best mates of the younger royal twosome.

@Mary – Hi! 🙂 Did you read my posts of 9.30pm yesterday and thereafter? The Brits are really losing this, viewed from any angle: propaganda, strategy or analysis.

I also did an earlier post about what the Brits might actually be trying to achieve.

A NATO general – repeat, a NATO general!! – tells us those darm Russkies are still living in the “Soviet” era. Are we supposed to laugh or what? Anyone with any neurons functioning is going to think “That guy is still living in the NATO era“. Unfortunately not many neurons function nowadays.

The reason for NATO’s continuing to exist after the Warsaw Treaty Organisation disbanded in 1991 was what, exactly? Note that the WTO disbanded before the end of the USSR.

But of course when a general does PR of that kind, it’s all about what contracts might be signable.

I’ve written about the rout that the Brits appear to be suffering in strategic terms and how they are almost completely out of the game in terms of propaganda. There remains the need to explain that qualification “almost”, which brings us to the field of analysis. How are they actually analysing what’s going on?

We need to pay attention to the fact that the Brits keep mentioning the Baltic states, and in particular Estonia.

As I said, there are going to be NATO-Finnish-Swedish exercises in Estonia next month. The Russians told the Finns and Swedes not to land their warplanes there during the exercises, and the Finns and Swedes said “OK”. Estonia is also the country that had its computer systems knocked out by Russia in 2007, taking the west completely by surprise and demonstrating Russian superiority in cyberwarfare. How the Brits would love to test their ‘new improved’ computer networking systems against Russian cyberweapons in the Ukraine. Whether they’ll get a chance is another question. But they’d sacrifice tens of thousands of live at the drop of a hat to test those weapons if they could. Several British statements (see my earlier posts) have made that crystal clear.

OK, so back to Estonia. A fair-sized proportion of the population is Russian, and this includes the vast majority of people in Estonia’s third largest city, Narva, which is basically a Russian city. The Brits have started saying the Russians might make a grab for it, just as they’ve grabbed Donetsk and Luhansk. The problem with this analysis is that it’s absolutely ludicrous.

Estonia is not similar to the Ukraine. There has been no coup in Tallinn, and Estonia is already in the EU and NATO. Too bad for the west that, ahem, the country is, to a large extent, already in the Russian sphere of influence. Never mind its NATO membership. The Brits and Americans might be able to colour in thir maps, showing all these NATO countries surrounding Russia, including countries that were actually inside the USSR as well as some that were merely allied to the USSR, but in some cases they’re kidding themselves. NATO isn’t as important as all that. For example, if the US picks a war with Russia in the Ukraine, they aren’t going to have Germany, France, or Hungary on their side. They can talk about “old Europe” and “new Europe”, but most of “new Europe” isn’t going to be on their side, let alone “old Europe”, with the exception of that ridiculous island monarchy north of La Manche. I mean even Finland, which lost considerable territory to the USSR in WW2, knows which side its bread is buttered on. Provoke a superior enemy? No thanks!

And yet…and yet, the Brits go on about Estonia and Harva.
The bottom line is that there is absolutely no need for Russian tanks to roll into Narva, given the weight Russia already exerts in that country.

It may be hard for some people to understand this, but the KGB was actually a major player in the regime changes that occurred in East-Central Europe around the turn of the 1990s.

The had files on all the up-and-coming businessmen and politicians. Get it? Anybody who doesn’t get it should think on it until they do. The US empire has overstretched. They’ve been outplayed. For fuck sake, they’re even in Afghanistan, a country which nobody has ever conquered.

People who can only look five minutes into the past and see five minutes ahead (not exactly indicating they’ve got what it takes to understand geopolitics and strategy) can talk about sanctions on Russian musical stars (Ioseph Kobzon) and SWIFT withdrawal, and the low oil price and whatever else is in this week’s headlines. Many ‘conspiratoids’ are about as good as thinking for themselves as the gumbies who drink up everything the MSM serves.

Here’s the point: Russia will win any war against the US in Europe; NATO is dead.

And here’s the question: will the west go for Armageddon, with the tiny knot of controlling interests (who are not tied to any particular national brand) making loads of money on the way down just as they made loads on the way up?

Quite possibly, yes they will. But Poroshenko is looking about as ridiculous as the Georgian leadership after the 2008 war that Israelis got the Georgians to fight, which – surprise surprise – they lost. Squaddies’ lives are cheap.

What the Brits want is a permanent limited war in the Ukraine that’ll be useful for weapons contracts and weapons testing.

But, bluntly, who gives a shit what the Brits want?

    Anyway that’s my tuppenceworth.

  • Peacewisher

@N_ It is hysterical. Putin is now openly being presented as a dictator who has invaded neighbouring countries and is a threat to the world. one plan (not too veiled…) behind the hysteria seems to be regime change in Russia.

Eston Kohver – like big deal? He’s the Estonian intelligence officer captured by the Russians near the Estonian-Russian border, probably on the Russian side. (I am not interested in debating which side of the border he was captured on, or which tree he pissed or didn’t piss up in the woods.)

Wikipedia – which, sorry to disappoint you, kiddoes, is an organ of what is called American soft powersays that the capture (“abduction”) of Kohver was “comes as tensions between Russia and NATO were high“.

    Like yeah, right.

NATO indeed! What a load of bullshit! NATO is fucking irrelevant. In 1985-89, the KGB saw the writing on the wall and grabbed the pen and the wall. The west are still playing with the “NATO” notion, a quarter of a century later. Is it really any surprise that Russia would kick the Americans’ arses in any big confrontation in Europe?

  • N_

@Peacewisher – They aren’t going to do a ‘regime change’ (i.e. destabilisation followed by installation of puppet government) in Russia. They haven’t got the capability.

That was evident during the 2012 Russian presidential election. The US and British embassies were allowed to work happily away, wasting their money and being closely under watch.

    Even Berezovsky eventually realised.

They are unlikely even to get a mafia war.

They were probably walking 10 foot tall after the Olympics. Remember the talk of US warships going up to the northern Black Sea coast to protect the Olympics against ‘terrorism’, given what a bunch of ‘pussies’ the Russians were.

Well the Americans didn’t manage to get to Sevastopol, the naval port in the Crimea… Oh dear…

I strong suggest that anti-war types spread the notion of “the NATO era” by all means necessary.

  • FOI

It appears a top-secret deal has been brokered by the Board of Deputies, millipede to sabotage labour prospects for the greater good (of israel), as usual the punters queuing up at Ladbrokes, have gotten wind faster than you can say kosher. Only the meat pie eating mancunians are fast asleep, to add insult to injury millipede will insist on retaining the leadership even after labour has lost (or at least arrange to hand over to his brother). And I was wondering why no 129- Dim sum dum goy at the Chinese takeaway, was in such great demand at the labour conference.

  • Peacewisher

@N_ They clearly do want regime change, and they are being “more neocon than the neocons”.

Totally over the top reporting of the Polonium Plot trial, for example.

They probably know they won’t get anywhere with regime change in the short-term, but what whey really, really want… is to bring the 2018 World Cup to England. First stage is removal of Seb Blatter. Second stage will be to prove the Russia is not worthy…

    Anonymous Commentator Pulls Rank Scandal

Yesterday, testy old timer slapped down a commentator less old and craggy. “You’ve not talked enough shite here yet to wipe my hoary arse” she said.

Her fallacious claim to superiority are largely being seen as more sniping in her brave efforts to rehabilitate her new snotty nose beau. Suspicions their hearts entwine are further raised by her inexplicable giggles at his witless bile.

    “Tee hee” she giggled.

“Well we were surprised” a friend told this comment “but it’s nice to see the grey haired gal acting like a teenager again. It must be love. It’s definitely not dementia.”

  • N_

There’s no polonium plot trial yet. There’s an inquiry.

    Agreed, the case is important.

Berezovsky said that Russian and British intelligence services were cooperating to cover stuff up. Bere-who-sky? He had Israeli bodyguards, BTW: these guys, based in North London. One of them, Avi Navama, told the inquest into Berezovsky’s death that Berezovsky once told him he was £200m in debt. Funny thing to mention to the hired muscle, I’d have thought.

Berezovsky was about to go to Israel when he got murdered in Surrey.

The big question is where the polonium came from.

  • Peacewisher

@N_: Some commentators were calling the polonium thing a state terrorist attack on London.

  • N_

@Peacewisher – You say they clearly want regime change, but you can’t base that just on what they say to their home market. They may not be quite so stupid as to nurture a want for something they aren’t going to get. Did they clearly want regime change when they were funding organisations such as the NTS (how the KGB must have laughed) throughout the Soviet period? The same question could be asked in respect of the forest brothers. Well yes, in a sense, of course they did. But far more important to them was whatever intelligence they were gathering from such ‘friendly’ networks in the here and now. And in 1991 they had a couple of effective irons in the fire – but today? The KGB run rings around them, and have done for a long time.

The idea that there are going to be disturbances in Moscow and one of these 2-metre tall effectively US-based billionaires such as Mikhail Prokhorov is going to get his feet on Stalin’s desk in the Kremlin, after a coup or after a presidential campaign in which the big US PR agencies do overtime with hundreds of pretty girls carrying freshly-sewn banners in Red Square… In their dreams! People underestimate the KGB at their peril. Russia is ahead of the west in their propaganda capability as well as their cyberwarfare and certain other capabilities.

  • Peacewisher

@N_: Yes, I know! But can you explain the reasoning behind such hysterical propaganda? I still think it’s football 🙂
