Summerhead, if you are still following this you might be wondering at how completely mad it is.

Yup, it’s completely mad; but please post again.

The insight of Russian people is invaluable, even if none of the psychos in the west want to hear it.

@John. I don’t think for a minute that Obama would really consider the nuclear optiom. He’s just talking tough. But it seems that there are crazy people in powerful positions in the US who do see themselves as invincible, and they are backed by a particularly distorted version of religion (rapture, etc… and only the chosen few survive) Now that is really scary. Every bit as scary as ISIS.

“Yes the second in line is in training but not for air sea rescue but rather for air ambulance work.”

But it’s only a day or two since you posted this

“We were led to believe that he was gainfully employed as an air ambulance helicopter pilot.”

(and Tim asked you was he not entitled to a holiday. You do recall?)

You were wrong when you wrote: “We were led to believe that he was gainfully employed as an air ambulance helicopter pilot.”

The point is not whether it’s air-sea rescue, or air ambulance work. The point is that he hasn’t started in either job. But you’re going to be snarky about him anyway.

    Habbabkuk, I wasn’t correcting you!

Summerhead, who I have never come across on here before tonight, started a comment:

“I am opposed to NATO expansionism and corporatism.” I therefoe immediately saw him/her as a friend.

That was not considered. But this was.

“Perhaps some of the cleverclogs on this forum could enlighten us as to how they would run Russia.”

And who of the self-confesssed cleverclogs stood forward but RD. Cleverclogs himself. My God with Noddy and Cleverclogs we’ll soon have a full battalian. I leave readers to consider his dictatorship to improve Russia themselves.

  • Peacewisher

@John: What do YOU think of Greek Cyprus’s offer to give Russia a base 40 km from the British base. Could it be a response to the Merkel manoeuvre that Mary reported earlier? Those plates certainly do seem to be shifting.

That’s exactly what we need here. More funny stuff – occasionally.

Well spotted John I’m seriously impressed with that. Isn’t ‘nothing left to fear’ a so called ‘slash film?’

Interesting the ‘remote control project’ links to the ORG think-tank – “Re-thinking UK Defence and Security Policies” –

    http://www.oxfordresearchgroup.org.uk/ssp/re_thinking_uk_defence

Which reviewed Britain’s Security some years back in 2010. The likely outcome of their findings was indeed a strong need to rekindle ‘Cold War’ planning taken up of course by Chatham House, presented to an emboldened Foreign Relations Committee and ‘Ho Hay’ we had the putsch in Ukraine.

Knowing this of course I get rather piqued, witnessing small children choking and suffocating to death and young mothers with their shrapnel ridden legs amputated to save their lives, in the Donesk and Lugansk regions of Eastern Ukraine; esp, when poisonous kooks condemn Putin’s Russia for innocent life saving..

    Ffs tune-in..

ffs will the MH17 investigator stop double-dutching, gain some dutch courage AND TELL US THE TRUTH NOW. Any computer whizkid with offtheshelf software would have by now recreated a virtual 3D image of the fuselage with provable markings/trajectory indicators showing definitively whether it was a BUK or SU cannon that shot down MH17.

Its VIP, as it will identify the real devils in the Ukraine powder keg – before we have a rifkind on the floor of the commons diverting NHS billions into bombing Donetsk.

UK Censorship in action part 93.
Another example of more BBC News ‘oversight’ – failing to stumble over a news story – has the Home Office briefing man still in Rm.101 not yet worked out the correct slant?

BBC.co.uk search for “Ruslan Kotsaba”, gives zero hits
Likewise DailyTelegraph.co.uk “Ruslan Kotsaba”, gives zero hits

a Google Search (outside of the UK bubble of potential terror complicity for making the wrong search at the wrong time) leads to

    http://translate.google.es/translate?hl=en&sl=de&u=http://www.tagesschau.de/ausland/ruslan-kotsaba-103.html&prev=GCHQ

which gives the mechanically translated ARD (German BBC One equivalent) Correspondent on the Tagesschau (Daily News) point of view on arresting journalists for journalism, a nice balanced explanation. Whereas UK gets … s i l e n c e …

oh and to keep the Trolls even more happy with facts, Twitter’s transparency reports for 2014 published today remind us that UK currently makes more Twitter takedown requests than even {spit} Putin’s Russia! – we’re obviously a bigger country? https://transparency.twitter.com/information-requests/2014/jul-dec

    re http://www.stopfake.org

I provided the full text of the link which you claimed backed up your assertion that four of the editorial team had been Fulbright scholars.

And repeat my question : please point us to the line or lines in that text which back up your assertion.

Well, he stepped up and responded to the challenge, didn’t he.

What would YOU do to reform Russia – or do you think no reforms are needed?

Come on now: when you’ve answered my questions about http://www.stopfake.org, step up to the plate!

    http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2015/02/euromaidan-one-year-later-crowd-funding-donbass-war-crimes.html

‘In the most chilling and telling statement about the Ukraine War any US official has ever made, John McCain implicates the United States Government in the war crimes of Petro Poroshenko and the entire Ukrainian government. He does this by justifying Poroshenko’s use of banned weapons on civilians.’

‘In 1967 Wasyl Veryha’s MA thesis concluded that the Ukrainian nationalist emigres were the third biggest factor in Canadian politics and especially Canada’s foreign politics. From that time until now their influence has grown dramatically. Canada’s support for the ultra Nationalist government in Ukraine is directly reflective of this.’

‘By marking the differences between German 3rd Reich Nazism and Ukrainian Nationalism he separated the two ideologies as being entirely different. German fascism was industrial fascism and Ukrainian fascism is agricultural fascism and keys in on the term “patriot.” Both are replete in extreme national chauvinism and out of the two Ukrainian Nationalism is much more violent. The Bandera OUNb groups are quite literally, the Nazis Hitler was afraid of.’

RobG, sorry to disappoint but I’m not Russian I don’t know where you got that idea; is my English that bad?
John Goss, I’ve been commenting on this site for years, it’s just that nobody notices because pseudo intellectual windbags have a special filter to block out the working class.
The main reason I look at these comments is to nab links from Mary to put on Twitter. The rest is just like the video I posted earlier.

Greek Cyprus’s offer to give Russia a base 40 km from the British base.
There’s a shedload of Russian money in South Cyprus*. They probably own the land already. Could be interesting. Formal agreement on the 25th:

    http://www.denizhaber.com.tr/ruslar-guney-kibrisa-askeri-us-kuracak-iddiasi-haber-60301.htm

(and enjoy Google Translate tying itself in knots with Turkish syntax)

However, the original source is cited by all Google hits as Global Post….and I can’t find the story on its page at all*. So a huge pinch of salt, at this stage, may be required. S. Cyprus is EU. And the EU is sanctioning Russia.

*If you can, please provide a link.

    Smoothface is electioneering, again.

He says ‘Pay the workers more! Up the workers!’

Frances O’Grady TUC Gen Sec says:

    10 February 2015

Commenting on the speech David Cameron is due to make today (Tuesday) on pay to the British Chambers of Commerce, TUC General Secretary Frances O’Grady said:

“Since David Cameron became Prime Minister the average wage is worth £2,500 less a year, the worst fall in living standards since Queen Victoria was on the throne.

“Saying it would be nice if wages went up is no more than pre-election mood music. If elected again his policies would do the opposite. Huge cuts would take spending back to the same share of the economy as in the 1930s. This would depress the economy and mean public sector wages would fall every year. On top of that he would make strikes almost impossible, holding back pay across every sector.”

    NOTES TO EDITORS:

    – From April 2010 to April 2014, the value of average gross annual earnings of full-time employees in the UK decreased by £2,509, or 8.4 per cent. Source: ASHE, adjusted by RPI.

    – The Prime Minister’s speech is expected to highlight the situation for wages in different sectors for the three month period September to November 2014. The following chart shows the change in wages for different sectors from 2010 to 2014.

Thanks, Macky. This puts a slightly different complexion on the matter. Paphos is a S.Cypriot military airbase (not British), as well as a commercial airport. That would be much less contentious than inviting the Russian navy into Limassol. Though what humanitarian and emergency function Russia hopes to provicde in the region is obscure, unless it is connected with Syria.
