None of the above. I understand presenting false alternatives is a common technique among lawyers, but it’s an easy one to spot.
There is of course a danger that I contract a nasty meme whilst visiting. Will Self’s Quantity Theory of Insanity could turn out to be true 🙂
“I suggest you look at what I actually said – you duplicitous liar.”
I wasn’t referring to your impersonation of me when I called you a duplicitous liar. I was referring for your innumerable comments as ESLO and Resident Dissident. Pretending to be two people to heap praise on yourself shows how pathetic you are. Loser!
Miliband is having a push on companies using tax havens and shelters. Suggest he starts with Global Radio, chairman Lord Charles Allen (linked above), registered in Jersey.
Mr Goss
And your answer just demonstrates the lengths you will go to avoid answering straightforward questions. When I retire I shall reveal my identity (who did you post as before you reached pensionable age)- and a couple of years later I hope ESLO will do the same – and then you will need to apologise for your false accusations and stop your endless lying.

I am a contrarian by nature and I dislike the ersatz left for the damage they have caused to true left wing thinking in this country, and have in fact provided support to the right wing.
Phil
No i’m not a marxist like yourself – but in my book Keynesianism is pretty anti-establishment compared with the prevailing orthodoxy. Yes I do belicve in a just market economy – have you ever seen a just state controlled one? Without the market mechanism what alternative mechanism do you propose for the distribution of resources?
Mr Goss
I think if you look at ESLO’s comments the vast majority did not involve praising what I said – although if some did so be it. As I’ve said before it would be singularly stupid if I came here looking for praise – although I do admit that I get some satisfaction from being criticised by duplicitous idiots.
Resident Dissident
I’m not a marxist. Not sure why you think that nor why you mention it in a discussion about your perspective. And I said nothing to suggest you were so not sure why you felt the need to say you are not. Anyway neither of us are marxists. Shall we get back to Keynes?
As a Keynesian how do you explain the triumph of neoliberalism?
“When I retire I shall reveal my identity (who did you post as before you reached pensionable age)- and a couple of years later I hope ESLO will do the same – and then you will need to apologise for your false accusations and stop your endless lying.”
Thanks for that. Apart from “Last Tango in Halifax” there is so little comedy about it is a pleasure to entertained by such snippets.
I hate the row between John Goss and Resident Dissident. I hate it, hate it.
I hate myself and wish I didn’t have to live in this world. The rift runs right through my soul.
We are all people, but many seem to assume that those they have disagreements with are some power’s agents.
All the powers are the exploiters of all the people. Loyalty to a power or set of ideas, and even opposition to a power or a set of ideas, brings people into conflict. People conflicting with people.
Interesting tale of corrupt racist practices in company town Amerika:
“Reverend Pinkney Sentencing Set for February 24: Mobilize to Stop the Racist Frameup by the Corrupt Upton-Whirlpool Austerity Machine”

I don’t understand the conflict in Ukraine. The conflict pollutes, distorts and filters the information. Without reasonably accurate information it is impossible to understand the conflict, and without understanding it is impossible to choose the best course of action to support.
Russia, the US, and the EU are all great powers. Each of the rich oligarchs is a lesser power, but still much greater than any typical person. It seems to me that both the great US and Russian powers interfered and continue to interfere in Ukraine, and this was and is wrong. One way they interfere is by promoting their favoured oligarchs.
“Thanks for that. Apart from “Last Tango in Halifax” there is so little comedy about it is a pleasure to entertained by such snippets.”
Remember what they say about sarcasm!
Resident Dissident, please would you tell me when you have will save fairly uninterrupted time to hold a coherent, ongoing discussion here?
John Goss, same question to you.
Sorry, “have”, not “save”.
Resident Dissident : “I am a contrarian by nature “
Oh no you’re not.
I said to me missus “try thinking outside the box”. She replied “I will if you let me out”.
As a Keynesian how do you explain the triumph of neoliberalism?
Perhaps you might explain what you mean by neoliberalism and why you believe it has triumphed first – I suspect you might be might be trying to make an argument that is purely circular – which is probably how you put your wife in her box!
If you cannot see certain Marxist strains in your 3rd para of 1:39pm then I don’t think you are looking closely enough.
BTW I never said Keynesianism could explain everything – Keynes wouldn’t have believed that either. I have also never contended that I am against every established idea – just that I am not against everything that is anti-establishment.

I am more than happy to hold cohernet ongoing conversations on many things at most times – but not on Mr Goss’s despicable politics, rehashes of previous debates or navel gazing/imputing my motives, or subjects where I have little knowledge/interest.
Resident Dissident, John Goss seems to think as badly of you as you seem to think of him. Maybe he should be killed or imprisoned for life? Or perhaps you would volunteer for one of those fates? Or instead a duel, perhaps? If we are all to share this world, some sort of convergent discussion would seem to be needed.
Clark
I’m more than happy to ignore Mr Goss if he stops calling me a fascist and other abusive terms, stops questioning my honesty and apologises for his racist slur. Until then I shall not be turning the other cheek as I am not a worm and shall respond in kind. A dialectic with Mr Goss would be beyond the bounds of logic, given the subject matter of this blog.
Mr Goss
It is you who has no shame.
Let’s nail your bollocks about anonymity/non-anonymity and email addresses once and for all, using your own words for the purpose.
You say: “as to my email address being available, that is probably true of all honest people who comment under their own name.”
Now the great majority of occasional and regular posters on here have not made their email address available and do reveal their real name.
According to those criteria, therefore, the great majority of occasional and regular posters on here are not honest people.
Actually, I’d agree with that.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
By the way, you accused RD of being a “spook”. He had denied it. I hereby accuse you of being a sponger on the state, living mainly on benefits paid out by the state which you spend your time bad-mouthing.
“..and do not reveal their real name…”
Resident Dissident, it is regrettable that things have escalated to this degree. Maybe these hurdles could be gradually dismantled; I expect they are mostly oversized shadows, on both sides.
Habbabkuk; please? We are yet to hear from John Goss.
Clark
Perhaps you note that in my post of 9:48am I am quite capable of addressing points that Mr Goss makes without resorting to a personal attack on Mr Goss. The points I raised about the partial nature of the evidence produced are still not addressed.
From the CFR’s house journal, Foreign Affairs:
“Why the Ukraine Crisis Is the West’s Fault”
Discussion of this article in the same journal:
“John Mearsheimer, R. Wendell Harrison distinguished service professor of political science at the University of Chicago, joined Gideon Rose, editor of Foreign Affairs, to discuss the unintended effects of NATO expansion. Mearsheimer argues in the September/October 2014 issue of Foreign Affairs that the West is to blame for the Ukraine crisis.”
Neither, Clark.
But I’ll make sure he doesn’t get allowed into Poland again.
(he can visit the autonomous republic of Donetsk instead).
And we’re still waiting to hear from the old Stalinist on Solidarosc.
Resident Dissident, Habbabkuk, will you both commit yourselves to furthering coherent discussion by undertaking to refrain from insults and unprovable accusations?
I know I haven’t asked this of John Goss, but I will if his presence and mine coincide.
I’ll be making my judgement about contributors on the above basis. Those who so commit I will accept to be serious commenters, trying to further discussion. Those who will not I’ll take as attempting to disrupt all discussion.
I will now be absent for fifteen minutes or so.
