Gordon Brown and wee Dougie Alexander once bestrode the world, bombing much of it. Now these mighty egos are confined within Elderslie Village Hall.
The problem is, the average member of the population does not have a high opinion of the dynamic duo. So it is essential that they are kept away from average people, and instead paraded only before vetted audiences of Labour activists. There are not very many of those; so the venues are tiny, with a small number of carefully bunched people holding silly placards, photographed by a compliant media only from carefully prepared angles.
Now I plunge happily into politically incorrect ground. As normal people have abandoned it and Labour has come down to the core of its core support, it is truly striking how remarkably ugly its hardcore activists are. I don’t mean that in any metaphorical sense. I mean that they are an aesthetic disaster. It is not a product of poverty, as the core support are all well employed as research assistants or doing pretendy youth work jobs for Labour councils. Other parties do not have such challenging physiognomy. It is very seldom you can look at a room and say Gordon Brown is one of the best looking people there. Perhaps Blair’s crimes have been written on the faces of all the complicit.
Douglas Alexander not only facilitated the use of Diego Garcia for torture and extraordinary rendition, in an act of extreme hypocrisy the evil little shit also declared a “marine conservation area” around it. In the 1960’s Britain forcibly deported the entire population of the islands to make way for the US Air Base. Faced with a continual political and legal fight for them to return, Alexander sought to make it impossible with his “marine conservation area”. There is nobody who better represents Scottish Labour’s loss of its soul than Alexander. If Mhairi beats him I shall be extremely happy.
They really work in pairs pr groups, don’t they, these Original Trolls and Useful Idiots 🙂
No sooner have I reprimanded “Fedup” for his latest chunk of ill-written and opaque garbage than up pops “Node” with his:
“I enjoy your contributions, Fedup. I’m glad to see you back here.”.
To which Fedup gratefully and fawningly replies as follows:
“You are kind Node, thanks”.

7.31pm is a case in point. Nothing to do with my presence here or what I have said, but an attack on two other commenters. It is high time for some removal. We have all had three years’ worth of it.
Interesting posts from Lysias yesterday evening (USS Ronald Reagan), thank you.

Ukraine marks 29 years since Chernobyl disaster
April 26, 2015
Ukrainians on Sunday marked 29 years since the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, placing wreaths and candles near the plant where work to lay a new seal over the reactor site has been delayed.
The explosion of reactor number four on April 26, 1986, spewed poisonous radiation over large parts of Europe, particularly Ukraine, Belarus and Russia.
At 1:23 am (2223 GMT Saturday), the exact time of the explosion, hundreds of people placed flowers and candles in the dark at the foot of a monument in Slavutych, a town 50 kilometres (30 miles) from the plant.
Slavutych was built to rehouse Chernobyl workers who had lived near the plant and were forced to move further away after the disaster.
At the site of the plant itself, around 100 kilometres from Kiev, Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko laid a wreath at a monument to the victims.
The human toll of the disaster is still disputed.
United Nations experts officially recognised 31 deaths among plant workers and fire fighters directly linked to the blast.
But environmental group Greenpeace has suggested there would be around 100,000 additional cancer deaths caused by the disaster.
The Soviet authorities of the time dispatched hundreds of thousands of people to put out the fire and clean the site, without proper protection.
I am vehemently opposed to TTIP, especially on the impact it will have on OUR NHS.

I was disgusted to hear this man compare the UK deliberate bombing of German citizens to “kill as many people as possible” during world war 2 with the moderation of US not killing as many of the Iraqis as they possibly could in 2003.
Where do these vile zio-poisonous insects live the rest of their lives when they are not shilling for the Zionist war-mongers USUKIS, I wonder?
I see Noisy1 and ‘pHuck have returned much subdued by their water-boarding weekend, picking on little bits of grammar like kids who don’t like their food.
Craig on top form in the last few posts. Hang the neo-con corbies out to dry on a barbed-wire fence.
As I was walking all alane,
I heard twa corbies makin a mane;
The tane unto the ither say,
“Whar sall we gang and dine the-day?”
“In ahint yon auld fail dyke,
I wot there lies a new slain knight;
And nane do ken that he lies there,
But his hawk, his hound an his lady fair.”
“His hound is tae the huntin gane,
His hawk tae fetch the wild-fowl hame,
His lady’s tain anither mate,
So we may mak oor dinner swate.”
“Ye’ll sit on his white hause-bane,
And I’ll pike oot his bonny blue een;
Wi ae lock o his gowden hair
We’ll theek oor nest whan it grows bare.”
“Mony a one for him makes mane,
But nane sall ken whar he is gane;
Oer his white banes, whan they are bare,
The wind sall blaw for evermair.”
A fitting epitaph to Danny Alexander and Gordon Brown
Mary – well done for surviving the Sushi. I hope it’s done its job.
Not changing tack at all Anon. A long time ago I drifted around in your paltry, impulsive, colonial queen and country world, devoid of ethics and rectitude; lost good mates in the pitiful, pathetic Falkland war where Naval ships were used as decoys. I took that tortuous artery towards a reality where deception and slaughter of the innocent are obvious, simply considering a farewell without absolution.
Here the zombie mentality maintains distance, fearful of intention; much like Blair when his retinue visited Walton High, circumventing the main route, arriving in strict secrecy and ringed by men in black; unsigned, incognito, culpable and anon.
Apologies for off-topic, though I refer to the previous thread and to comments on this thread.
Resident Dissident
Thank you for the link you provided to ‘Human Rights in Libya’ on the previous thread –
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_rights_in_Libya
I was somewhat surprised, considering the consequences, that the claims of abuses were not more strongly supported.
On this current thread, Maxter, at 26 Apr, 2015 – 4:41 pm, has posted this comment –
“Off topic but information about Libya from Americans that lived there in 2011. Its shocking! 32 minutes in the information starts.”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnJyLtlX6Cg#t=2182
I watched this and am appalled and frightened by what I heard. Two very credible Texans (man and wife business people) who travelled to, and around, Libya on many occasions for periods of one to three months, and who were there when the bombings started, tell of their experience. When they arrived back in the USA they told what they had seen to the authorities and then had their lives effectively destroyed.
I would be grateful, Resident Dissident, if you could find the time to watch the video and give your opinion on it, since it seems to contradict your belief.

You linked, on 26 Apr, 2015 – 11:49 pm, to an article with the headline: “TSA Warns of Possible ISIS Attack on U.S. Soil.”

“I would be grateful, Resident Dissident, if you could find the time to watch the video and give your opinion on it, since it seems to contradict your belief.”
Resident Dissident never watches anything which does not fit neatly into his agenda unless it’s to criticise. I listened to part of it about ten minutes or so when it was first posted but most of it I knew anyway. Gaddafi’s regime was a socialist regime, no wonder a long-time Labour supporter like resident Dissident says he is, would not be interested in it. No wonder the Rothschild’s wanted him out.

“No wonder the Rothschilds wanted him out.” Apols.
@Evgueni, thank you for your lengthy whitewashing Post; you would have us believe that the entire Left/Liberal side has got it wrong, that veteran reporters & commentators like John Pilger, Robert Parry, etc, have also all got it wrong, that when the Head of Stratfor called the overthrow of Yanukovych as “the most blatant coup in history”, he got it wrong.
Rather I tend to think that it’s Craig who finds himself isolated with his bias take on Ukraine, that has got it wrong, a fact reinforced by the telling support of all the pro-Establishment stooges, and assorted others with an anti-Russian chips on their shoulders.
Your whitewashing of the Odessa Massacre is as revolting as Craig’s was/is.
By the way the link above was a western propaganda video made before the Obama/Cameron/NATO destruction of yet another challenging regime.
Here’s another CT that turns out to be true;

Evguéni
I too would like to thank you for your post, which stands in pleasing contrast to the bilious outpourings from several of the Original Trills and Useful Idiots*.
It is always useful – and good – to have something based on first-hand personal experience and observation (unless of course you’re a George Bernard Shaw visiting Soviet Russia in the 1930s! 🙂 ) rather than something arising out of arid, untutored personal prejudice and/or nourished by the usual collection of more than dubious websites and media outlets (yes, RT, I do mean you! 🙂 ).
A good measure of the integrity of your post must surely be the hissy fit thrown by Mr Putin’s N°2 apologist on here, the egregious “Macky”!

* I say “Useful” Idiots althoygh when you stop to think about it, “Useless” would be a better description of both their personal worth and their utility to the rasPutin cause!
I’ve posted this on the “A Horror We Made” thread, but I don’t think many people read old threads;

Macky
You never did tell us why you decided to re-infest Craig’s blog after leaving it in a hissy fit, saying you would never return.
Would you finally like to take this opportunity and tell us?
You might also tell us where your friend “Fedup” has been for the last six months or so before his sudden reappearance. You will know my supposition about his absence but, as always, I stand ready to be corrected!
Thanks Macky for the Guardian piece. I read about Putin’s latest address to the nation on Russian outlets (which cannot possibly be reliable) so surprised to see the Guardian picked up on it.
Macky and John Goss,
John Goss, you have accused me of prejudice and bigotry. Macky, you have accused myself (and Craig) of “Russophobia”. Would you each please explain what you mean?
Macky, Evgueni did not refer to the overthrow but to Euromaidan, and far from “whitewashing” the Odessa massacre, attributed it partly to football hooliganism (which is sometimes brutally violent) and wrote:
Macky
“I’ve posted this on the “A Horror We Made” thread, but I don’t think many people read old threads;”

As so often Macky, your thinking is wrong.
I quite often re-read old(er) threads just for the laughs.

^^All this crap’s going to seem quite trivial and irrelevant shortly:
Remember Enron? It was one big fraud, for the most part. Almost no one saw the speed and force with which Enron was incinerated. I was short Enron stock in the $40’s. It dropped to the teens and I covered, thinking the worst was over. Not too long after that Enron filed bankruptcy and was revealed to be largely an empty shell. It had erected entire floors of energy trading desks that were only used when the Company was trying to sell stock or bonds to investors doing due diligence. It was complete lie.
Enron is a microcosmic metaphor for the entire U.S. financial and economic system. It has little substance and an unimaginable amount of fraudulence masquerading in the form of an economy. If you were to subtract all of the fraudulent accounting, the fraudulently compiled Government economic data, all of the debt and all of the derivatives on a true mark to market basis, the United States would be nothing more than one giant version of Enron.
Most people have no clue whatsoever of the economic devastation that is coming at us down the system pipeline. But Central Banks will eventually lose control of this insanity they have created – history has already spoken repetitively on that matter. And certainly no one can predict the timing of when Central Bank control is lost. But when this does occur, the entire U.S. financial system will be incinerated like Enron. Only this time around everyone will be ruined, rather than just a few stupid Enron stock and bondholders.

E mail received today
Dear Friends,
As you may be aware from the news – the EU leaders decided on Thursday to increase the budget for search and rescue in the Med three fold. Essentially this was what the ‘Keep the Mediterranean Search and Rescue’ petition was aiming to achieve.
I will now be sending the petition to the Home Secretary Theresa May as a reminder that the government will be held to account. I personally feel much more can and should be done to help the migrants who are fleeing desperate situations. And will I carry on campaigning for this.
I want to thank you most sincerely for signing the petition and for playing your part in showing the world that love does make a difference and that turning our backs on vulnerable people is wrong.
Thanks and with every blessing

Clark; “Macky, you have accused myself (and Craig) of “Russophobia”
I was going to refer you to a dictionary, but perhaps Neil Clark can help you out better;
http://rt.com/op-edge/russophobia-uk-elite-obsession-873/
Clark; “Evgueni did not refer to the overthrow but to Euromaidan”
You mean one of those fairly regular and anti-corruption demonstrations that used to be a harmless tradition in Ukraine, until the last one which was manipulated from its inception by outsiders, who also ensured that it will be as bloody as it needed to be in order to achieve the planned regime change.
Clark;“far from “whitewashing”
I’ve commented on your lack of perception before; alas there is no known cure.
Habbabkuk; “I quite often re-read old(er) threads just for the laughs.”
If it isn’t a requirement of your work as a shill, then you are really as sad as you come across as being.
The 2004 earthquakes and tsunamis broke down the established governments there and the bridges connecting their societies to each other, opening the way for the TPP.
It helped make the USA the biggest terrorists yet.
