Corruption Welcome in London 739

The FBI had somebody wearing a wire at the London Olympics to capture the FIFA corruption taking place in the margins. What were the British authorities doing? Nothing.

Britain prides itself as having in London the world’s leading financial centre. Substantial assets, both financial and real estate, from FIFA corruption are located in London. But Britain has taken over the crown from Switzerland as the major financial destination which will always protect ill-gotten wealth.

Alisher Usmanov played a major role as bagman for the corrupt Russian World Cup bid, particularly with delegates from FIFA’s Asian Confederation. His place as Britain’s third richest resident is very obviously based on extreme Russian corruption and he rose to power and wealth solely with the use of gangster muscle and contacts he gained and expanded while serving a prison sentence for blackmail. But he is a billionaire and beloved by the City of London so there is no danger of him ever being investigated in the UK.

That a key figure in FIFA corruption over Russia’s World Cup bid, is undisturbed in his large shareholding in Arsenal FC, says everything about the complicity of the British establishment.

Usmanov’s friend Gulnara Karimova is a startling example. She is now under formal investigation in Switzerland, France, Sweden and the Netherlands over the glaringly corrupt origins of her billions. Only a fake house arrest by her father has prevented her real arrest. Yet in the UK, where she has three homes including one in the No.1 Hyde Park criminals’ hangout, where she shops regularly and her son is at university, there is no move against her whatsoever.

I am delighted to see the moves against FIFA. But to me they illustrate very plainly what a corrupt stinking hole London has become.

The upcoming BRICS Summit is to be held in the Russian city of Ufa on 8-9 July. The countries are expected to discuss the IMF reform that should give a louder voice to developing countries in decision-making, and the possibility of creating an independent BRICS rating agency.

Russia was chosen to assume the BRICS rotating leadership in April 2015.

Jewish activists arrested for peacefully protesting Israeli fund raiser in the US.

On May 12th, Gregory Williams and Dan Fischer were arrested in Westport, Connecticut after attempting to enter a Synagogue where a fundraiser was being held for the Israeli military (IDF).

Williams, a student at Yale Divinity School, and Fischer, an activist with the Middle East Crisis Committee, entered the temple in Westport in order to peacefully protest the actions of the IDF.

They simply came to read a Palestinian woman’s statement to the people at the fundraiser about her son being killed in the 2009 attacks on Gaza.

They did not get to do so, however, because they were immediately detained by the Synagogue staff after stating their intent to recite the mother’s words.

No no we don’t want to hear the otheside of the story,we’re here to raise money, came cry from the synagogue.

These two you men are to be commended for at least trying to build bridges,if only more took heed.

This week Secretary General of NATO Stoltenberg has highlighted the necessity of NATO having a sufficiently strong military capacity, including nuclear weapons, to deter Russia from violating international law and threaten the security of NATO’s member states.

He has highlighted the importance of Article 5 in the North Atlantic Treaty and NATO’s responsibility to defend the security of its eastern members in particular. He has further stated that Russia needs to be sanctioned over its actions in Ukraine, and has said that a possible NATO membership of Ukraine will be “a very important question” in the near future. Stoltenberg has expressed concern over Russia acquiring new cruise missiles.

Stoltenberg was appointed Norwegian Prime Minister in March 2000. The policies of the first Stoltenberg cabinet were markedly inspired by Tony Blair’s New Labour and saw the most widespread privatisation by any Norwegian government to that date.

Before the arrests, FIFA had been beset by the Palestinian resolution to suspend Israel from the international body because of its violent interference in the affairs of Palestinian soccer.

The violence included arrests and harassment of Palestinian players, refusing to allow them to enter the West Bank to play, and even the brutal shootings of two star players in the feet. This attack destroyed careers and ruined their chance to ever play professional soccer again.

Earlier today, the Palestinian soccer federation president, Jibril Rajoub, withdrew the motion his group had filed to suspend Israel’s membership. It’s hard to tell whether he backed down because he no longer had the votes, because he was bought off or because FIFA was bought off.

At any rate, the reaction among Palestinians will be swift and negative. This is another in a long line of betrayals by the PA of the Palestine national cause.

Pure gold. Blair in fine form here.

Kruger Cowne talent agency, which represents Mr Blair, asked for a £250,000 fee plus £80,000 expenses for a twenty minute speech, according to the Sunday Times.

Mr Clinton got a total of £327,000 for his half-hour talk last year.

Eat offered Mr Blair, who stepped down from his role as Middle East peace envoy last week, £215,000, but after months of talks, an agreement was not reached.

And this is a curious new development:

Kruger Crowne asked Eat to pay Mr Blair’s fee to the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, which campaigns for equal opportunities.

Mr Blair’s office issued a statement saying that while he had been asked to speak at Eat in return for a donation to his wife’s foundation, he was ‘unable to do so’.

Doesn’t get out of bed for £330K? Something strange going down with Windrush? More ructions with her indoors? Watch this space.

Carrying handguns openly in the US state of Texas will become legal after lawmakers in the nation’s second most populous state gave final legislative approval for the measure.

The Texas House of Representatives and the state’s Senate on Friday gave final approval to the legislation to allow those with a concealed carry license to openly carry a firearm in public.

The bill will be sent to Republican Governor Greg Abbott, who promised to sign the bill into law immediately.

“Open Carry just passed in both the Texas House & Senate. Next destination: My Pen,” he said on Twitter.

Texas, known for its wild west and cowboy history, has some of the country’s most relaxed gun laws and has about 850,000 concealed handgun license holders, a number that has increased sharply in recent years.

Anyone agree with me that “open carry” is sheer and utter madness?

In my opinion it will encourages confrontation.

  • nevermind

RoS, Texas gun laws have always played a big fiddle and now we’ll see who has the biggest gun hanging off their belts….wow….

When I was there in 1978, you were not allowed to carry a hidden weapon, but you could walk a shot gun, broken that is. They have very peculiar laws.
For example you can shoot anyone who enters your house without announcement/or after 10 pm.

Would not be surprised to see some enterprising souls organising some real dueling now, hurray back to the 19th. century, kit out the two parties with full body armor, let them sign a waiver, ensure they have informed their families and hey presto, ready for walking the 15 steps in either direction.
what better than to spend your sunday, have a little shoot out. Come and visit Houston, big gun fights guaranteed.

Thats it! Texas is off my travel list, replaced by Scotland….;)

“Anyone agree with me that “open carry” is sheer and utter madness?”

Not me. It seems less mad than concealed carry. I support the right of US citizens to bear arms. The day it is taken away will be a grave one for us all.

  • Republicofscotland

Yes Nevermind I agree,Texas will need a Wyatt Earp now, imagine a dispute in lets say a shopping mall followed by a shoot out, or two guys drunk in a bar,no more bar brawls just bar shoot outs.

Then there’s the matter of road rage, settled by a shoot out,the winner get the parking space.

Ufa is not in Russia it is part of Bashkortostan – funny how republics lose their separate status when they join the Russian “Federation”.

Dear Members of the FIFA Congress

President Sepp Blatter is running for a fifth term as FIFA President, with the election scheduled to take place at the 65th FIFA Congress in Zurich on 29th May, 2015. in light of President Blatter’s continued support for Russia hosting the 2018 FIFA World Cup-despite Russia’s ongoing violations of Ukraine’s territorial integrity and other challenges to the post-WWII security architecture-we ask that you reconsider your support for President Blatter’s fifth term as FIFA President.

As you know, more than a year has passed since Russian troops and Russian-backed separatists began their dismemberment of Ukraine, which continues to this day in violation of both Minsk I and Minsk II ceasefire agreements. At the same time, NATO has intercepted more than 100 Russian aircraft in NATO territory since the beginning of 2014. Russia has opted out of the Conventional Forces in Europe Treaty that has been a mainstay of European security since 1992. Given Russia’s ongoing violations of Ukraine’s territorial integrity, and Putin’s efforts to undermine the principles of multilateral cooperation, shared norms, and international security agreements, we believe that allowing Russia to host the World Cup would bolster the Putin regime at a time when it should be condemned.

More than 40 countries, all FIFA members, have imposed sanctions on Russia in an effort to influence events on the ground in Ukraine. By allowing Russia to host the tournament, FIFA would offer an economic lifeline to the Putin regime in contravention of the multilateral sanctions that have been imposed by the international community.

The next president of FIFA has a responsibility to ensure not only a safe and successful 2018 World Cup, but the endurance of the FIFA mission that claims to promote football “globally in the light of unifying, educational, cultural and humanitarian values.” We strongly encourage you to elect a president who will uphold these values and work to deny the Putin regime the privilege of hosting the 2018 World Cup.

    Sincerely, [signed]

    Robert Menendez

“In a spectacular U-turn, media mogul Rupert Murdoch has abandoned his plan to campaign for Britain to withdraw from the EU.

He has decided that Britain is better off staying in Europe and that to quit would be a major risk.

Murdoch, whose media empire includes The Sun, The Times and Sky TV, to play a vital role in the Out campaign.

A well-placed source told The Mail on Sunday: ‘Mr Murdoch’s view of the EU has mellowed in recent years. He is no fan of bureaucratic blocs but if it comes down to a choice between Britain getting out of the EU or staying, he would stay in.”

“funny how republics lose their separate status when they join the Russian “Federation””

I know, weird as hell. Bashkortostan, Mari El, Chuvashia, Udmurtia, Kalmykia; all well-known members of FIFA until Putin showed up and then poof! Where’d they go?

Handy hint: there is no republic called Russia. What we call Russia is in fact a federation of 40-odd republics and oblasts called the Russian Federation.
