Is “chutiya” an Anglicism or a Soctticism? This American has no idea what it means.

I’ve always felt that this was one of the most underrated of TS Eliot’s poems…

    Lines for an old man

    The tiger in the tiger-pit
Is not more irritable than I.
The whipping tail is not more still
Than when I smell the enemy
    Writhing in the essential blood
Or dangling from the friendly tree.
When I lay bare the tooth of wit
The hissing over the arched tongue
    Is more affectionate than hate,
More bitter than the love of youth,
    And inaccessible by the young.
    Reflected from my golden eye.
The dullard knows that he is mad.

Tell me if I am not glad!

“Is “chutiya” an Anglicism or a Soctticism? This American has no idea what it means.”

Lysias, jump into the freezer with the rest of the cubes!

    Or, google.

  • Villager

“Tell me if I am not glad!”

Gladden yourself all you want; there are more ways than one.

Or search a little into your self, before you spew that peculiar rubbish about shooting off the human race. Have your sensibilities been dulled with too much wine, perhaps?

  • Villager

Lysias, you don’t exactly appear patriotic, yet you are happy to proclaim yourself American at the drop of a pin? Do you really think through things for yourself, or have you lost yourself with and in all the books you read?

  • Suhayl Saadi

‘Chutiya’ is Hindi-Urdu (and also is in Punjabi) and it means ‘asshole’ (in North America English) and ‘arsehole’ (in British English). Of, or pertaining to, the anus. It is usually a term of abuse.

Not to be confused with the word, ‘chhuti’ which means holiday.

This might be a recipe for amusing confusion:

“How dare you? You… you, you absolute holiday, you!”

“Good to see you back! Did you have a nice anus?”

  • Suhayl Saadi

Villager, I agree – it’s got a great ring to it! I just love language and playing around with words, juxtaposing the sacred and the profane. You gave me a good excuse to indulge myself for a moment! Thanks for the clip!

  • Villager

Good Suhayl, am just catching up on the ‘Alfred’ exchange. Again, another chutiya, though majorly more deserved than Lysias. He goes on and on about genocide in Britain and when questioned about ”melting pot’, the racist refers one to a dictionary. See you around, more often.

The trolls are falling over themselves this evening!
    I wonder why..?

Good luck to everyone who attends the demo in London tomorrow. The psychos who rule us will do everything they can to ensure violence tomorrow.

    Don’t accomodate them. Stay peaceful.

  • Villager

    “Good luck to everyone”

    To what end, duffer?

Cliches galore! Have the moths chewed your brain?

  • Villager

LOL, really what are you ‘thinking’, using the term very loosely? Are you doused with alcohol that you reach this loop and go over and over and over again? You and RepublicofPostman would make good bedfellows> Prime dolts.

On the Corbyn thread, I posted a link about the MoD supplying the Saudis with precision weapons for use in the bombing of Yemen. How vile.

Craig gives us a link to the latest Wikileaks release on the Saudis giving the Israelis airspace to bomb Iran.

A reminder of BLiar’s dealings with the Saudis.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al-Yamamah_arms_deal

‘Al Yamamah (Arabic: اليمامة The Dove‎ is the name of a series of a record arms sales by the United Kingdom to Saudi Arabia, which have been paid for by the delivery of up to 600,000 barrels (95,000 m3) of crude oil per day to the UK government.[1]

The prime contractor has been BAE Systems and its predecessor British Aerospace. The first sales occurred in September 1985 and the most recent contract for 72 Eurofighter Typhoon multirole fighters was signed in August 2006.

Mike Turner, then CEO of BAE Systems, said in August 2005 that BAE and its predecessor had earned £43 billion in twenty years from the contracts and that it could earn £40 billion more.[2] It is Britain’s largest ever export agreement, and employs some 5,000 people in Saudi Arabia.[3]

In 2010, BAE Systems pled guilty to a United States court, to charges of false accounting and making misleading statements in connection with the sales.[4] An investigation by the British Serious Fraud Office into the deal was discontinued after political pressure from the Saudi and British governments.’

    No words.

@RoS you said “The real problem is getting him from the embassy to the car without the b*stards seeing him,we need a distraction, any ideas?”

To be Frank, I can’t think of a way to do that in the UK. But, if we were talking about the ecuadorial embassy in Moscow, and we were liberating a representative of free speech, from the demonic Putin regime, I’d do it like this:

Switch off Mayak (BBCR4 equiv), Perviy Kanal (BBCone equiv), via blended attacks , then get around 40k friends to walk into the embassy & walk out with the person of interest. Works every time.

Actually, the chaos that that would cause, in MockBa, would be so close to the start of a regime change that you can see why the eminences pop-up here and not just at the DailyMail “daily comments section about the latest ISISteria”, Shirley?

” Saudi Arabia was the principal force behind the global campaign to delegitimize Israel…. Saudis have financed a large part of the lawsuits that were filed to international courts, the public debates, the conferences, the slander and hounding of Israel in the United States”

    – Craig. Sorry, but this “leak” is Bullshit. You’re being played.

Has anyone ever thought that Snowden was detected grabbing data and unbeknownst to him was fed a few extra spoonfuls on purpose, or perhaps he had tapped into some mass propaganda / ‘game-theory’ network?.
The Sauds are vile yes, but are close buddies with the US, the UK and the evil Zoionst Necrosis killing Palestine.

Well we had a opportunity to do something similar in London yesterday with over 250,000 people protesting the austerity cuts.

Ive no idea though if the huge crowd passed by the embassy yesterday or not,if they did well who knows.

To explain my comment above. There were three of the usual comments from one individual called Enoch. Thankfully now removed.

  • Puzzling

In all the wikileaks not ONE damaging leak on the devilish nation responsible for over 50% of the diplomatic communication in the ME. Makes you wonder if they have a dedicated separate line of communication with the US.

  • lwtc247

Why is my comment “Where are the Zionist cables” deleted?

[mods-cm-org: the new mods are getting used to the rules. those 2 comments have been restored]

There is no reason to believe that this leak came from Edward Snowden. Wikileaks haven’t said anything about the source.

Regarding the lack of mention of Israel; the vast majority of the documents are yet to be released. Wikileaks is probably reviewing the documents and performing redactions where necessary. The documents may be in batches, some of which require less scrutiny and thus got released first. And whoever leaked the documents could be supportive of Israel and may therefore have removed any documents that would be to Israel’s disadvantage.

We just don’t know very much yet.
