The Labour Party is being remarkably coy about releasing the actual result of its Scottish accounting unit leadership election, giving only a percentage. The entirely complacent unionist media is complicit in what amounts to a deception. The stunning truth is that in a one person, one vote election among the entire membership of the Labour Party in Scotland plus trades union supporters, Dugdale won with 5,217 votes (out of a claimed electorate of 21,000, many of whom do not exist or could not be arsed to choose between two right wing numpties).
UPDATE: A second Labour figure just rang me to assure me my information – which was from a good source – is wrong. She would not give the actual figure and only said it was “higher”. I offered to take down the post and publish an accurate figure if she would give it, but this was declined.
You are just beginning to annoy.
Just ensuring Macky doesn’t annoy you too. 🙂
Robert
Great to hear you are doing well…and good taste in music,
And the healing powers of music too, Stay well.
Mary
you were asking about the sentences of the Glasgow Drone protesters.
Glasgow Palestine Action got back to me on That saying –
” A range of sentences dependent on the records of those convicted. One fine of about 300 pound; 80 hours community service; and three suspended sentences of about six months.”
Then i gave them this link, which may be of interest to Readers here too –

If you challenge John Goss’ bid to rejoin the Labour Party will you do so honourably and reveal your identity?
I think every man has the right to see his accuser, don’t you?
KOWN
My accusations are based entirely on Mr Goss’s own words – the Labour Party can make the judgement if called to do so. Given the depths that Mr Goss goes to in his accusations of myself – involving my family and his constant fascist insults do you really believe that he would stop at that if he knew my identity. Unlike Mr Goss – who was also anonymous online until he reached pensionable age – I have a living to make.
Oil prices are nose diving, Brent Crude now $43.74, a $1.72 drop this morning.
Thank you for that Brian but sorry to hear about the sentences. No sentences for the killers though.
It is good to have a comment from someone like you who is not catty, petty, sarcastic or vindictive.
Cheers.
What was the SNP’s forecast, Fred?
“What was the SNP’s forecast, Fred?”
The White Paper based it’s projections on a price of $110.
Did you foresee the oil price drop, Fred?
No? Nor did anyone else.
Yes? Why didn’t you warn us?
Not to worry. Even at those prices it seems fracking is an option.

I’d imagine that this will be going on in the central belt, so it won’t affect Caithness.
Unless….lorra Devonian lacustrine shales up there. You never know.
Drilling rigs and production heads and pipelines. So much prettier than wind turbines.
Unfortunately, those who get to power are not normally decent people. Therein lies the problem.
We hasten to dissociate God’s Own Anointed Autocratic Tsar from inclusion in this category. His decency is an example to us all, especially the capitalist lackeys of the imperialist NATO cadre.
Glenn; “Indeed. Macky might have shrilled another poster here with this line, but her stablemate Anon1 has also tried it out, Kempe gave it his usual limp-wristed effort, and ResDis”
LOL ! How they must squirm in outrage to see their names linked with mine ! (but you missed out the Habbu-Clown Troll)
Glenn; “Could one of these cheap-shots give a single example of any poster meeting this description?”
I once put this charge to Clark, who positively jumped at the chance to confirm his blind faith & loyalty to Craig; but not all such loyalty is freely acknowledged, as there are some here who although will disagree over a particular issue with Craig, bit their lips & remain silent. Some here openly declare themselves to be personal friends of Craig, and friends to certain other Posters here, and it shows in how often they avoid criticizing each other’s povs & how often they offer mutual “he/she’s a good egg” type of support to each other.
Ba’al Zevul ; Just to clear one thing up. I’m not a Russophobe”
Only if required then ? Probably more true to say that when push comes to shove you take the view that regardless of wrong or right, the West enemies have to be demonized; it tend to would explain why you turn a blind eye to the NATO provocations towards Russia & a blind eye to Russia’s remarkable restrain in response, not to mention the obvious CIA coup in Ukraine with its resultant Neo-Nazi stooges ?
Mark Golding ; « A perceptive and prudent post Suhayl – thank-you”
But rather spoilt by being a red herring in the missing the point context of the relevant exchange.
@Jon, re Harriet Harman, forget to mention about Libya, so to rephrase my question, would you really make an alliance with somebody who is most likely complicit in torture via her role in “Extraordinary Renditions”, and who in addition voted for US-UK wars that have wrecked two countries, leaving mountains of the dead and humanitarian catastrophes in their wake ?
“Drilling rigs and production heads and pipelines. So much prettier than wind turbines.”
I live next door to an oil well owned by a fracking company.
I don’t recall howls of protest from the central belt when that was drilled. They were busy chanting “it’s our oil”.
Whether Fred foresaw it or not is irrelevant. The fact is the SNP massively overestimated oil revenues and we would have had a refugee crisis on our hands with desperate Scotch refugees diving onto any train or lorry heading for England as their banana economy fell apart, probably necessitating some kind of Greece-style deal with the EU in return for eternal slavery.
Macky;

Just providing a little balance to the incessant protestations that (a) Putin is in any way a democrat and (b) he is a poor injured cuddly bunny.
All you’ve got on your side is volume, Macky. You certainly haven’t shown to my satisfaction that the displacement of a Putin stooge and the failure of a clandestine Russian takeover of the Ukraine was a CIA coup. That is because you rely on bellowing rather than research, I guess.
Bellow away.
Fred,
Fair point for once.
Whether Fred foresaw it or not is irrelevant.
Got it in one.
Incidentally, without locating Fred pretty exactly, I’m not sure how to put this, but Igas bought what I think is Fred’s oil rig a couple of years ago. It’s directionally-drilled out to sea from its land base. and was welcomed at its outset by the SNP. So you can hate it now, Fred…
Igas is a major fracker and is currently busy overestimating the possible returns while dismissing the environmental impact of several plays south of the border.
Kissinger talks some sense on the Ukraine.
More sense at least than the tiresome propagandists on here:
http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article42707.htm
It isn’t the US which will pay the price for this mess, but Europe as before.
Ba’al Zevul; “That is because you rely on bellowing rather than research, I guess”
So you would have me believe that your take, which just coincidently matches that of the Government, and of the MSM, with its illustrious history of not telling the truth, is the correct pov ?!
That every independent/alternative reporter/analyst have got it all back to front ?! Every Lefty Blog, and everybody from Chomsky to Pilger to Seamus Milne to even right wing people like Peter Hitchens & Henry Kissinger (!) have all got it wrong ? That renown investigate report Robert Parry , and the Head of Stratfor who called the what the CIA did in Ukraine as “‘The Most Blatant Coup in History’, are all Putin propagandists & stooges !! Rather I tend to believe that these are the people who have done the detailed research & objective analysis, rather than you & the MSM !

Member of Parliament and member of the Work and Pensions Select Committee Debbie Abrahams agrees with the 55,000 people who have signed the petition calling upon the dishonest, bungling, incompetent shyster Iain Duncan Smith to resign from his position as Work and Pensions Secretary.
Why not add your signature telling this thoroughly stupid and nasty piece of work to get lost. Please publicise this as widely as possible. Kind regards, John

Has Ba’al actually presented an serious argument wrt the standoff with Russia.
I’ve seen only propaganda articles from him.
He doesn’t deny it. Quite proud of it, in fact.
Says it’s for balance.
Today is Ukranian independence day, but independent from whom, you might ask, with the Western puppet Poroshenko controlling part of the country whist Vlad the impailer Putin controlling the Crimea.
But the real big big big big big big big news of today, is that 1 Direction are to split, yes I know it’s utterly devastating, it makes all other catastrophes seem trivial…pass the Kleenex.
Meanwhile, posturing prat Smith blames his staff:
“Iain Duncan Smith has said officials who used fictional claimants to show the impact of benefit sanctions could face disciplinary action.”
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-34042587
Now you know.
Meanwhile Phil Hammond entered the British embassy in Tehran, the same one that it was kicked out of 4 years ago, reports said that scrawled on the wall in Farsi, were the words “Death to England” and below those words is a picture of Queen Lizzie.
I wonder if they also drew a handle bar moustache on her grimace strewn mug.
So the two crack US soldiers and the one British probably Royal marine, who just happened to be sitting next to the Mr Bean of the terrorist world, received the highest honour France can bestow upon them today..vive la France.
President Hollande in his Cuban heeled shoes personally pinned the medals on the chests of the “accidental” heroes, in a day that will go down in history as a victory over MrBeanism.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. This from a man who faked his own CV:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pressreleases/stories/2002/12_december/19/newsnight_ids_cv.shtml
And paid his wife out of public funds for doing nothing. And bullied an aide out of her job for raising concerns about that. And wiped the aide’s e-mailed concerns from the e-mail server. And claimed the cost of his underpants from the taxpayer.

Perhaps he should look at a disciplinary procedure or two for himself first. I know that he is only one person, and if it wasn’t him then it would be some other bugger. But he makes me more sick than anyone else in politics.
Kind regards,
John

This rapprochement with Iran.
How do you see that playing out in the broader geopolitical context?
IDS was of course leader of the Conservative party for a while.
Remarkably, very remarkably, poor show.
A failure in every way.
These are often the most dangerous of men.
“I live next door to an oil well owned by a fracking company.”

I live next door to a bank owned by the taxpayer, and I do recall howls of protest, of “it’s our money.”
But like the Post Office the bank will be sold on the cheap to buddies of you know who, and the taxpayer will once again be shafted by Westminster.

Herbie, the Iranians don’t trust the British, it’s a bit like renting a room to Jack the Ripper in a brothel, you just know everytime you take your eyes of him he’ll be up to no good.
If history is anything to go by on the Iranian/British relationship, then it will be a tense affair we backed the Shah, while knowingly helping to install the Ayatollah in Iran.
We didn’t even have the guts to let the Shah live in the UK, we publically denied him sanctuary to avoid upsetting the ayatollah.
Jeez… l don’t even trust the British government never mi d the Iranians.
Geopolitically, well since the Americans have not opened up their embassy yet, it gives the Brits a head start in backing anti-government rebel factions in Iran, like the Muslim Brotherhood.
Anyone seen the Mail on Sunday? They’re reduced to writing a piece of fiction about Jeremy Corbyn and the future.
